What are you ordering 2011
Nice list Robin, i've been eyeing Hosta Capt. Kirk for about a year now.
Didn't realize the geum was so small.....will put it right up front somewhere.....I hope the Captain does well where I'm placing it.....have to get rid of brushy weeds under a spruce tree, & I need hostas to do it!
Wait Marilyn. Check the official size. The plant I posted was just from the nursery and by August it was taller and lanky.
I am trying another Geum this year, Geum Totally Tangerine to join Geum Mango Lassi which I planted in 2008 that finally started to bloom last year. In 2009 I planted a nice little ground cover type plant called Potentilla x tonguei that had a great orange and red color and nice runners that so far have behaved, but are creating a nice edge along the bed as I had hoped. Here is a shot of it. The Bug shows the scale. It is small but bright and cheerful and blooms for me in mid June for quite a long time. I pictured it with Geum Mango Lassi. Patti
I'm looking the potentilla up right now.Great border plants are hard to find.
Ge1836, I picked it up at our local nursery on Nantucket without much information, so I was happy to have it do so well the last two seasons. Patti
I just saw that Bleek has a good early buy going on for spring plants over in the Classifieds at his company. He has some Hemerocallis including Siloam Plum Tree & Siloam Rainbow Magic as well as others that I want as well as some Callas, Crocosmia and who knows what else at his always great prices and service. Nice guy. Go to the classifieds to get the special extra discount http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1149215/

To celebrate the upcoming season, we want to make it even more affordable and are rewarding you with a 20% early ordering discount, but we can not combine this with other promotions we have. Simply mention 20% discount in the comment field when placing your order

OOOOO...sounds nice....I love hardscape things, but never seem to have the money for them....I always buy the plants instead....Sorry about Brian, Pixie, but I bet he won't miss his GD's birthday!
celeste i think the head cold is finally clearing although the coughing fits continue - they increase when the head hits the pillow - had both of us all last night - at 4AM she mentioned she had some spray - ciprical? - that numbs your throat - it worked!
maybe tonight will be pleasant dreams
Wha, poor you. DH was still thinking yesterday that he might be getting sick too, but he did sleep last night, so I could too. I am not sure if it wasn't from him being just exhausted from skiing yesterday. He went again today. Cold, but if he can fight off the crude that is going around, then it is good. I am terrified to get sick as I am still not back to fighting shape. I will keep that ciprocal throat spray in mind. Meanwhile lots of plant websites to visit today. Feel better. Patti
I bought 2 of these 8 foot obelisks for the garden.
Bestnest has the best prices for things like these.

Ge1836, I like the architectural quality about them too. I am going to try to cut some arrowwood, Viburnum dentatum, suckers to try to make some structures this winter for the garden. But might be another pipe dream.
Wha, are you going to make them. Patti
Back when I was younger my womens art group used to go to Jans property. She had a woods behind her house.
We took Loppers, wire, nailguns, brads axes etc and cut young trees to make arches and cones and balls for our landscapes.
I had 2 trelisses that I trained nastuers on. Wish I had a pix of the gate that seperated one garden from the other.
no i made a couple last year for clems - i want a metal one for the L. major wheeler vine i got last fall.
did you see me in the woods last spring joann?
NO !!!!!!
But I will be looking for you next time I go. Heh Heh Heh
