Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Hope they keep the prices small!

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, Pirl, for the info.....Johnny's of Maine also has mini packs for some of their veggies that I've ordered.

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Found a miniature rusty watering can for 49¢

Thomaston, CT

Jen, I'd love to see photos of your daughter's garden when it's finished....something I'd like to try with my granddaughters.....

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Ordered from Avant this morning. My first time ordering from them.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

and the order was for???????????????????????

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

You wont be sorry. I ordered ferns and epimediums and they lept forth the first year.

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

I forgot that part, did't I? :)

physocarpus 'nugget'
viburnum 'aureus'
and sedums: 'mentha requein', 'tokyo sun', 'orange ice', 'makino' and 'chloroticum'

I want to try the sedums between stones in a path. The thyme that was there didn't make it.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Just planted Aureus (FW) this past fall.

Thomaston, CT

Sedum Orange Ice is on my wish list.....has anyone grown salpiglossis? I want to try Kew Blue, but don't know how hard it is to germinate.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

no I haven't RD... but boy are those neat looking

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I've never grown salpiglossis but was eyeing them at a GH last summer, some are very uniquely colored.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I just sent in an order to High Country Gardens, a first for me, as I try to order closer to home but they had a few things that I have been wanting especially the Geum triflorum and the Pulsatilla Alba. I am trying to finish up a nice order to Avant and am still working on my Japanese Maple order/wish list as well as an order to Bluestones. Taking too long, but I am doing the entry work as I go so I don't double order as I did last year on a few things.

Victor, I keep checking to see if Fairweather is open yet, but no luck. Patti

Echinacea palida 'Hula Dancer'
Cytisus purgans
Rosa hugonis ‘Father Hugo’
Lilium philadelphicum
Pulsatilla vulgaris 'Alba'
Rosa 'Darlow's Enigma'
Baptisia australis v. minor
Geum triflorum

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, Bob told me he is behind schedule.

Thomaston, CT

I was looking at that rose Darlow's Enigma as well, Patti.....you'll have to let me know if you like it.....

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Victor, Please be sure and post FW when he open's it up. I failed to order from him last year and there where plants that he had that I still want. I liked what I got the year before. Patti

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

has anyone ever ordered from broken arrow nursery in ct?

watchdog gives them good ratings.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I haven't.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha, Nope. But I will check them out as you generally find good stuff and I want to keep the faith.

I sent in a fat order to Avant last night, so back to work on my Japanese Maple list as soon as I finish doing the entry work on these new kids. Thanks Mom for the Christmas Gift Check. She also treated me to a few other orders. I just called to Thank her, but she was almost too busy to talk....almost 97.

I am planting a newly cleared area so I neeeeeeeeeeded some of the shrubs and trees and have also taken a real liking to Epimediums, so those where added to go under some of the existing Japanese Maples.

I also ordered a couple of special Arisaema (Arisaema flavum ssp. abbreviatum & Arisaema triphyllum, Mrs. French's veined Form) from Ellen Hornig over at the now closed (VERY SADLY)Seneca Hill Perennials in NY as I am trying to get a few colonies of those growing as they are too cool to not have. I had good luck with her A. candidissimum last year, but no photo, dang. Patti

Buddleia 'Ellen's Blue'

Hallowell, ME

bbrook I think you'll like your order from High Country. They ship really well with the packing and the plants are very healthy.

My want list keeps changing but I'm pretty much set on Eragrostis (love grass); geraniums 'orkney cherry'; double jewel; lavender pinwheel and laurence flatman; sedum 'picolette' and 'sea star'. I'm also ordering some perennial seeds both for winter sowing and early starts. I'm growing some annuals for dry flower arrangements for DW and friends although I do have to order some german statice and sea lavender in quantity and I found a place on the west coast which stocks it in 6-packs!!!!

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

WOWSER there are some very fabby things on your lists! I have narrowed my orders down to a small book; need more pruning as I WILL reorganize some beds before I jam more stuff in more 'research plants' I WILL TOO! I found saliglossis very easypeasy to grow from seed but it didn't show very well in my garden. Maybe it's more of a "in a container in your face" kinda flower?

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

thanks, but now I am in trouble as:

Quoting:
Welcome to Fairweather Gardens!

Spring 2011

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Great - thanks, Patti!

Thomaston, CT

Patti, Purple Prince does very well for me....last year I was yanking some out as it was really spreading. Frank, love Orkney Cherry geranium. Dnut, thanks for the heads up on the salpiglossis, I will give it a try. Kew Blue is taller than the mixed varieties, so maybe it will show better.....

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

ROBINDOG E gads, pulling ( E. Purple Prince) it out....could be a problem, or maybe I could trade the overage to a local nursery for other things I want. Wonder why it is so pricey? I know most Epimediums are. Patti

Thomaston, CT

Yes, & I have a yellow and pink one as well....but it's the purple guy who's rambunctious!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Robindog, Thanks, I will let mine loose in a place that it can wander. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Patti - are you looking for anything specific at FW?? I am concentrating on conifers and probably one or two viburnum, but will probably look for other small shrubs.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I specifically wanted from Fairweather Gardens a Poncirus trifoliata 'Flying Dragon' after seeing a photo of yours a while back, plus I wanted a couple more interesting Viburnums and another Fothergilla for particular spots. Then I couldn't leave that cool Epimedium behind or the Daylily with my kids name on it and before I knew it, the others just jumped into the basket. oops. Patti

1 Epimedium 'Rigoletto' - Epimedium
1 Hemerocallis 'Easy Ned' - Daylily
1 Kniphofia uvaria 'Echo Mango' - Red-Hot Poker
1 Stokesia laevis 'Omega Skyrocket' - Stokes' Aster
1 Caryopteris x indica 'Hint of Gold' - Blue Mist Shrub
1 Chaenomeles japonica var. alpina - Dwarf Flowering Quince
1 Fothergilla gardenii 'Jane Platt' - Dwarf Fothergilla
1 Poncirus trifoliata Flying Dragon - Hardy Orange
1 Viburnum plicatum f. tom. 'Copper Ridges' - Doublefile Viburnum
1 Viburnum prunifolium Ovation - Blackhaw Viburnum

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Cool!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow you guys are going all gangbusters already!!!!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nice Patti!

Thomaston, CT

Nice choices! I was looking at Klehm's which came today....DL prices were out of sight. Saw several peonies that I loved.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Peonies are not on my spring list, as I ordered a huge pile of them through a coop last fall from Hollingsworth at great prices. I am a big believer that they do far better if planted in the fall, but Klehm's does have some swell ones. Patti

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wow look at that list of pretties. Patti you are going to have a terrific area with all these new goodies added to an already lovely garden and yard. I have to go look up a couple of them to have a look see now.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Bought 4 more daylilies...edited to say I did not pay these prices! LOL
I wanted a late blooming white or near white one with good bud count.

This one im planting with 'Pandora's Box' as they are both early blommer, fragrant and I think the purple of this one will draw out the eye in P.B.

This is the seedling, it is one of James Townsend that he didn't name or register....also his picture not mine.
