^_^ Bill
What are you ordering 2011
Rcvd Logee's catalog
LOVE THIS
http://www.logees.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R1806-4
Must need plenty of water.
Small order with FW today. Might add to it. Probably will. ^_^
One each of:
Viburnum opulus 'Xanthocarpum' - Yellow-Fruited European Cranberrybush
Stokesia laevis 'Omega Skyrocket' - Stokes' Aster
Hydrangea arborescens Incrediball - Smooth Hydrangea
Hydrangea serrata 'Kurenai' - Lacecap Hydrangea
Cedrus deodara 'Silver Mist' - Deodar Cedar
Does anyone on here order sweet corn seed by the pound? I found a good place with (what I think) is a great price...and put an order in today.
www.willhiteseed.com
It's a place in texas ...and I've dealt with them before.....ordered 5 pounds of Bodacious seed......we ususally only order 4 pounds but last year the white tail deer ate MORE than their share....so another pound goes in the ground.
DH asks me frequently, what are you buying this year, and my response is nothing. Yeah right he says. I really am trying not to buy too much and letting things settle in. I do have a sunny, SE small new area to fill, his and my ideas won't match for sure.
Pixie, really loved those DLs & I'm trying to be good! Victor, really wish I could grow the deodar cedar, as I love it.....cute door, Jen....it's going to be an awesome garden. Debi.....just order what you want....when DH sees it, he'll agree with you!
DH and I are totally opposite in so many things!!
Looking through a catalog I saw amsonia hubrichtii in its fall color, showed DH the page and asked him what I would order, his first guess was wrong, then he said, I hope you're not getting this. Yep!
that is funny deb
LOL, you have your work cut out for you Deb!
Oh, dear!
Deb, you should say, 'Okay, I won't buy that one, but these other ten instead.'
I think he does somewhat like the final results.
He does sound trainable, lol
Nice match for Pandora's Box, Pixie. Good old PB never lets us down - talk about profuse!
Jen - very nice color on that 'Tsunami'. Cute comment, Victor.
One of the plants I got from Fairweather last year was Beauty Bush it is awesome .It still has its purple berries .They are Top Shelf
debi_k, you are kind to show him your catalogs. I never do, as my DH goes straight to the price without seeing the picture. But ironically, we do go to nurseries together as he easily charmed by plants in person. In fact he is a bigger sucker than me when he sees something he likes. We are usually on the same page, but not always. I like that Amsonia too.
Hallchinalady, we gave up trying to grow corn years ago, but we have a great farmstand a mile away, so we buy all our corn from them. But having our own was a special treat....the DDeer loved it too. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The farmer finally had to fence(8') his whole farm to keep them out. He use to grow one called Sweet Sue, but that seed is no longer available. It was my favorite. Sad.
Celeste, what is your current favorite near white DL? I have a few...but need a BEST. That HAZEL BALLARD - DF - L1F - Kirchhoff, D 2002 looks amazing and I love that one called Darker Shade. I have quite a few, but not like you.
flowAjen, how big was that door? Trying to picture a Fairy Garden. Patti
Been singing FW's praises for years! I've bought from them every year since the late 90's.
The door is 4" tall
It's such a good day for looking at Caladiums to order for summer color. Bill has his ad up for the next 10 days only:

Love the Ginkgo
me too - been wanting one for a while - think it will stay in a container - maybe a dwarf but it is new so no one knows
Cool Ginkgo, but I have too much variegated stuff. Have to be careful with variegated - easy to overdo it. I have a small ginkgo.
Patti there are several that are nice and fairly cheap.....'Sunday Gloves' is a nice one, good bud count, very fragrant and extended blooming, plus it reblooms.
'Joan Senior' is one I have several clumps of, so don't buy it! It is an ok as far as flowers, nothing special but does re-bloom.
I love the form and color of 'Gentle Shepard' it just hasn't been a power-house bloomer for me.
'WHITE TEMPTATION', Nocturnal, long bloomer.
'Just Celebrate' good bud count...older one by Yancy.
There are lot of newer ones too, i don't own many pure whites, my fav is 'Wedding Band' not pure white at all but it does everything I want it to :)
I have Joan Senior too. Nice, but very off-white.
Beautiful Pirl, and the leaf in the background with pink in it offsets it:)
Thank you, Celeste, but that leaf is the vile, horrible, terribly invasive (can you tell I despise it?) Houttuynia Cordata 'Chameleon' and I'm hoping all the Round Up worked and we've eliminated it. Spring will reveal our success or failure.
Thanks for the list which is very helpfu. I have Hemerocallis Heidi Eidelweiss, Gentle Shepard, Ice Carnival, Solar Moonglow, and Blizzard Wizard plus one who has noid, but is most likely Joan Senior as I remember planting that one years ago and it is not in my Journal. Could be a bingo
.
Pirl, beautiful is it called "Pirl's Pearl" ?
Now going over Wha's list. Patti
Pirl, Good thing that I killed mine.......Chameleon Plant Chameleon Houttuynia cordata STATUS DIED FINISHED ETC
I pray that mine is dead. What a scourge it's been even if it was beautiful.
I like "Pirl's Pearl". Thanks. I'll christen it in July.
I didn't try to kill ours, just dumb luck as it was an impulse buy at a roadside nursery with no information about it. I think I thought it was an annual and left it in a container. Patti
I gave up on my chameleon. Let me know if you've made any headway, pirl.
I have chameleon and gooseneck loosestrife in the same area!
I certainly will report whether the Round Up worked or not. My Gooseneck must be the only one that doesn't run wild.
There is another 'Chameleon' that's a Euphorbia so that's why I always give the full name because the Euphorbia is very nice and not aggressive or invasive at all.
Yes, I have that Euphorbia and like it a lot.
Archangel is a nice white DL....has a triangular shape to the bloom....I ordered a few things today, Verbascum Clementine, Geum Bloody Mary, Penstemon Ruby Candles, Campanula Blue-eyed Blonde, Hosta Capt. Kirk, plus flower & veggie seeds. Still am looking at a few more....like that spirea, Bill.
I planted geum Bloody Mary last spring.I hope its going to be bigger this year.
