Just a continuation of the 2010-2011 thread
What are you ordering 2011
We came from here
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1141455/
Garden Crossing has the blackberry punch million bells Celeste. I don't order annuals from them, but this might be the exception to that rule.
I saw it the other day. I hope to find it here at home.
White Flower Farm has some nice annuals and planter combos.
Thanks Weeze, I saw it and my list is made...just haven't hit 'send' yet! LOL
Did you notice it said they have been adding new plants and that all the new ones will be done being added by Jan. 1st.

OK, I did it, I placed an order with Garden Crossings for........
1 Delphinium ‘Blue Lace’:
1 Goldcrest™ Digitalis
1 Oso Happy™ Candy Oh! Rosa
2 Superbells Blackberry Punch Calibrachoa
I'M NOT LOOKING!!!!
This is an awfull mess. Its not even 2011 and I have spent a bundle on stuff. I just added tuteurs from Best Nest.If I only havnt ordered those clems.
This means no going to The Christmastree Shop in April to look at planters.
Got a coupon by e-mail for Christmas tree shop...not going anywhere near there this week...I can imagine the mad house
Me neither. I wont go until April late or May. They cheange the stock so often you have to buy it when you ee it or in 2 months it wont be there.
The Oso roses are great.
I did see that. I'm waiting for a few nurseries to update before ordering from them.
I took advantage of Lazy S'S Farm's 20% off big box sale for an order of 16 plants which was way too easy to do. I am working on a Garden Crossing one too. Patti

Oh boy nice lists you guys. This snow is not helping my restraint. Deleting all ads in the email without looking. Already placed GC order so will not go to look and add more. That digi is a nice one pixie, it will be year three here. Blooms a long time with deadheading and even when neglected keeps sending out some blooms.
Thanks Pat, good to know....I was hoping it would bloom a long time.
I just did a Garden Crossing order for their 15% off sale, which almost pays the postage. Now back to the Japanese maples unless I find another sale. Patti

Great orders, guys!
I'm looking at lilies again. Lilies, lilies, lilies. Jo Ann doesn't help me much either. She's very encouraging. I have contacted an English supplier of lilies, and hope to get some new lovelies from there.
The iris catalogues aren't out yet, so I still have a lot of ordering to do.
And I now have a new camera. And I love it! Many thanks to Victor who helped me with a recommendation for the one I finally got.
Whaaaaaat? I am trying to hold down my lust for lilies. Digging is just too hard.
Not hard to dig here in my nice sand. LOL.
No rubbing it in.
I got right into the thick of the Lust for Lilies and did a fat order with Faraway today. I have sandy soil, so it is far too easy to plant them. And as long as we keep them inside the deer fence so they don't get eaten they do very well for us. Still hoping to avoid the dreaded beetle again this year. Fingers crossed. Happy planting in the New Year to all, plus great health so you can work outside as well as prosperity so you can to afford to pay for all your plants and bulbs. Patti
The snow is gone here and the vole tracks show leading to my lilies.
I am at war now.
I'll bet we will have some vole/mole trouble this year as we had lots of late fall signs including this one. Dogs got one, yeah! So he got a tour of the garden and a visit with "Clarence" who is loosing his head. I made the shot into our Christmas card for select friends. You will all understand. Patti
Voles are one of the few critters I have not had to deal with.
The other morning - after the storm, three huge dear were munching on my oakleaf hydrangeas. By the time I opened the window with the pellet rifle, they were gone. Drats!
Victor, Sorry, I know the deer use to be horrible on our Oakleafs as they would eat all the buds, but now we have them all growing inside of the fenced in part of the property, so they grow well. I am hoping the caster oil stuff my DH is concocting up will work. The moles/voles are bad enough, but the dogs will dig to China to get at them which is very destructive to the beds. I can't shoot the dogs. Patti
Oh dear....all those plant selections sound wonderful....I'm still circling interesting plants in the catalogs....have only ordered clems.....have to see how many more days I can get subbing to pay for the goodies!
great pic patti :) i have a vole problem here and just do not know how to get rid of them - tried of tamping down the trails they make in the beds. i do not want to using anything that makes them move out - looking for a long term permanent solution!!
Other than unusual seeds I plan on buying from nurseries ,local as I have gotten to impatient for seedlings to mature.Don't have much open space left and have alot of plants crowded that need moving. No doubt I will weaken before springand order.
Same here. I am digging Salvias and Veronicas this spring.
I also will buy annuals locally for the same reason. I am raising Chinese Houses but if the fall seed doesnt work I will substitute with Stock or something similar. I have finished my planter combos.
I tend to only plant Zinnias and Merigolds in spring, direct.
I sow poppies in the winter.
Nothing that needs to be started in a green house.
I saw some annuals in WFF that I liked....$9.95 a piece? They've got to be kidding! I'll buy the seeds & start them in the basement....even if only 1 matures, still way ahead of those prices......
But those annuals you probably won't get true from seed? I imagine they are from cuttings, thus the higher, albeit ridiculous price. And some of the cutting ones are really so much prettier than what we can start from seed.
I wont order plants from them ,neither perennials or annuals.
They just come in terrible shape and die from then on.
well that's good to know... I am getting together another order from Vincent Gardens... all her liners grew great last year... and I was on the phone the Donna for almost 2 hours on new years eve... very nice person!!
Bulbs from WFF are OK and they have nice plant trellises but pricey. Good quality for what you get.
I bought Strawberry Cream because someone gave me a gift certificate.
Good way to spend a gift certificate.
