Sue, I had this over 'there' but think that Austin and Savannah might get chuckles..

Oops.. you might have to expand it, Sue.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

you bad sis!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Jaye it's wonderful that you are up to a half hour but that's where you should stop. That way you won't tire yourself out and will still get the jobs done. I still only do 15 min at a time and that's it. I find my resting times have gotten smaller but I don't go over the fifteen. Sometimes it's only 5 min between but I stop again at 15.....I'm amazed at how it works for me...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the new thread!
Jaye your previous post reminds me of my favorite Christmas carol, little drummer boy, as he had no gifts, but he played his drum! Sung by Bing Crosby.
What is your favorite song?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Mine is "Do You Hear What I Hear?" I just love Christmas music.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Who me?? Bad??? Pffft.. I must have learnt from the Queen of Bads, and that's you Sis Kathy!!

Barb, I just got through doing my 30 minutes. It seems long, but with music or tv playing in the background, it goes fast. But I do sit for a few when my legs start bothering. It's just wishful thinking that I might extend the time further.
The funny thing is I can't even be on the threadmill for 10 minutes!! But when I'm busy doing something, time just flew!

LK, I love ALL Christmas carols. "Away In A Manger" is on my lips this year.
Now I also love this...

BARB!!! My Christmas Angel! The phone has arrived and I've got it up and running. Only problem is.....I lost ALL my phone numbers with the old phone dying on me. :o( So now you all need to dmail me your numbers or CALL ME so I have your numbers.

The phone is awesome Barb....way better than the one I was using before! That one didn't have a camera, but this one does, thank you again so very, very much....thank Norm for me, too! Love you!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Barb for helping our sistah out there!!! Thank you Norm!!
Oh what a Christmas!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

In the year 2010, the Lord came unto Noah,
who was now living in the United States , and said:
"Once again, the earth has become wicked and over-populated,
and I see the end of all flesh before me.
Build another Ark and save 2 of every living thing along with a few good humans."
He gave Noah the blueprints, saying: "You have 6 months to build the Ark
before I will start the unending rain for 40 days and 40 nights."
Six months later, the Lord looked down and saw Noah weeping in his yard -
but no Ark.
"Noah"! He roared, "I'm about to start the rain! Where is the Ark ?"
"Forgive me, Lord," begged Noah, "but things have changed.I needed a building permit.
I've been arguing with the inspector about the need for a sprinkler system.
My neighbors claim that I've violated the neighborhood zoning laws by
building the Ark in my yard and exceeding the height limitations.
We had to go to the Development Appeal Board for a decision.

Then the Department of Transportation demanded a bond be posted
for the future costs of moving power lines
and other overhead obstructions, to clear the passage for the Ark 's move
to the sea. I told them that the sea would be coming to us,
but they would hear nothing of it.
Getting the wood was another problem.
There's a ban on cutting local trees in order to save the spotted owl.
I tried to convince the environmentalists that I needed the wood to save the owls -
But no go!
When I started gathering the animals, an animal rights group sued me.
They insisted that I was confining wild animals against their will.
They argued the accommodations were too restrictive, and it was cruel
and inhumane to put so many animals in a confined space.

Then the EPA ruled that I couldn't build the Ark until they'd conducted an environmental impact study on your proposed flood.
I'm still trying to resolve a complaint with the Human Rights Commission on
how many minorities I'm supposed to hire for my building crew.
Immigration and Naturalization are checking the green-card status of most
of the people who want to work.
The trades unions say I can't use my sons. They insist I have to hire only
Union workers with Ark-building experience.

To make matters worse, the IRS seized all my assets, claiming I'm trying to
leave the country illegally with endangered species.

So, forgive me, Lord, but it would take at least 10 years for me to finish this Ark."

Suddenly the skies cleared, the sun began to shine, and a rainbow stretched
across the sky.

Noah looked up in wonder and asked,
"You mean you're not going to destroy the world?"

"No," said the Lord.
"The government beat me to it."

Note: Thank the Lord for rainbows to remind us that He won't flood us again.

Well my Catie-Beth is singing "all I want for Christmas is my 2 front teef". Yeap both bottom teeth are out now!

Went to see the Christmas pageant at the girl's school last night and what a production it was. Beautiful!!!! Each grade level has certain things there were for the play, that way all the grades participate. The 2 and 3 grades were the animals.....ie: donkeys, sheep and cows and I am afraid the entire church started laughing when they came in!!!! Each child wore a sweatsuit turned inside out and a color according to what animal. Abbigail was a donkey so she wore brown. All of them had made ears in their art classes according to the animal and also wore black socks on their hands and feet. Well it came time for the shepherds and all the animals to go to the manager and 4 sections of kids came crawling into the church on all fours!! They were just like animals pushing and trying to get ahead of the other ones. At this point some man seated near us commented : "they act like animals too, just can't keep them herded together!" Of course we all lost it. Still it was a wonderful experience and when the chorus started with " Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella" Kim and I both got goose bumps. That was Ross' favorite carol so it told us he was watching.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Ae Marion, glad it was a good and funny production, and that Ross was with you!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Joyce, I'm glad the phone arrived finally and safely. Use it in good health and please convey our prayers for your parents. God Bless and Merry Christmas
Love, Barb
I never thought to look for the paperwork that came with it. Do you need it? If so, I'll try to find it.....

good morning everyone
Barb thank you for being such a good angel. :)
Jaye gosh i don't know wether to laugh or cry with the Noah story ?! LOLLL
i have a friend who was building a storage thing and they told him to get a permit to prove he didn't need a permit !!! and they both cost $50 each .... imagine ?... * i weep*
on to better things right ? God is Glory and he shares his glory with us in all his power.
bbl

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Auntie M-so glad you had a good time!! I will cross my fingers that Catie-Beth gets those 2 front teef;)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Saturday morning.
Rainy and cold here, hope it will get a tad warmer when the day progresses. Feels like the 20s out there.
Nope, I better thank God for what I have here, compared to Sue and Barb.. and Betty :(

Marion, I had to google that carol. Never heard it sung around here, and it sounds so Elizabethan. Love it. Glad Ross managed a 'visit' this time of the year.
Make sure to take a picture of CB minus the 2 front teef!! Then on her 16th birthday.. blow it up for her!

Sue, I'll say, buy a permit to safeguard yourself against some future idiotic ruling!!
This is a crazy world we live in.

Stacey, are you through with Christmas shopping FOR Jonathan? I bet you want to grab all the toys for him!

Again, Barb and Norm.. can't say enough how very kind you both are.
God Bless you both 100 fold!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! How about some hot chocolate to keep you warm?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks LK. What are you up to?
On my agenda today is just to either sleep in or have a movie session. I don't think the wet weather would appeal to Kel's notion of a Saturday drive.
Last night, I boiled a whole ham in a big pot, and add a pound of navy beans. Lifted the whole ham out after it's fully heated through and through, cut out the meat, and returned the bone to the pot.
Bean soup today, for sure and Hambone will get that bone.

thanks for the hottie chocky yummy good

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I can see Austin hacking Santa's site in a couple of years..

Thumbnail by heavenscape

LOL i do have a pic of him yanking santa's beard when he was 5 months old.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Kate that soup sounds yummy! Is it done yet???
Not doing much today, just wrapping gifts for the grandkids. Todd is cooking a brisket for dinner tomorrow! Sure does smell good. And I have a big bowl of fresh pico in the fridge!

mmmmm brisket mmmmmm *drooling *

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Me drooling right behind you Sue.. so get out of the way!!
LK, you'd think I'm crazy, but I love brisket with pico de gallo.. so simple and soooo goooood.
Last time I had brisket was at Cookie's. That was pure heaven!! Wasn't it, Sue?

Oh my.. I just noticed LK called me Kate. Well, it's better than Nate!

Had a long movie session.. watched Pirate Radio, Karate Kid.. and now about to pop in Prince of Persia.
Ham and beans suffice for us tonight!!
Think we might happily do separate rooms for the night!! Lolol!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry for the typo Jaye!

mmmm ham and beans mmmmm
hey quit pushing Jaye ! me first me first :P
yes it was sooo yummy your brisket . it was the bomb girl. oh yes. :)

i hope everyone is safe and warm today
bbl

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Morning all.. off to church this cold morning. Will give thanks for all my sistahs and as usual, present our petitions that He'd help us.
It was Cookie that made the brisket Sue.. and yes, it was the remake that we watched. I am glad that they didn't rob off too much from the first one, giving it a unique appeal.
I fell in love with Jayden in his first show, Pursuit of Happyness. Such a natural actor.

Sistah Judy, if you're lurking, thank you for being my rock!!

See you all later, thank God no ice on the roads.
You all stay warm!

that is right , i guess i just had a menapuasel moment lol sorry cookie, your brisket is the bomb ! girl
so what was the stuff in the slow cookers ? that was yummy too
have a warm day everyone

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Watched 'The Last Airbender' this am and LOVED it!! It is based on a book series, so will have to check that out.

Tante-we have been done with our shopping for Jonathan for a while now-when you don't have much $$, shopping goes very quickly;) We got him a pillow pet, a couple of developmental toys, an inexpensive jumperoo and a little table that has shapes, colors, letters and numbers in both English and Spanish that he will be able to use in a couple mos. My mom got him a tummy time mat and MIL got him so cute frog bath stuff:)

I too LOVED Cookie's brisket-got her recipe and as soon as I can find a darn brisket, we will be having one too...

Tomorrow have to take my car in to get serviced-window fell off the track and afterwards I will be picking up a Honeybaked Ham-DH just HAD to have one this year, so I told him if he wanted such an extravagance, then he needed to return cans to pay for it, so he will be doing that tomorrow;)LOL

mmmm hammmmmmm

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, I finally got my tree up! it is all red and silver this year! On the back porch, as we have no room for it inside this small house! Plus the mess is easy to clean up when the kids are done with the pressies!

Thumbnail by taters55

anyone grow okra ?
i may do it again this year but a lot of mine went to waste due to " i had no idea what i was doing " LOL
i know it can get .... like little sticks in your mouth when its old.
but i guess i m confused on when this happens. I did experience it once and understand what it is.
so from time of picking how long do i got ? i guess is my question
and how long can i keep it on the plant until its to old ?
i will ask on the beg veggie forum also ,but i know some of you gals are southern and may be okra kind of people . ?
thanks
sue

Waiving Hi...

Winks and Arm Wraps

Yesterday, I was able to finally get to Christmas Shopping... This year I am feeling Quite the Elven spirit.
So I am very thankful for that...And a small donations to the Salvation Army buckets, gave a little smile to my heart.
Being home, i don't get to make those donations as often as i once did.

We will be having Christmas Eve Feast at our house this year, In talking with Steve, we have decided to forgo a gift exchange. Too many family members are struggling so it was an easy decision, besides I think Whoever wants to make the trip is giving us the greatest gift of their presence...Then on the 26th We are taking a Trip home to the Rez, I can't even begin to tell you how excited We all are. We haven't seen each other in a very long time. It was decided that we will stay with my Brother and SIL...On the way there we will stop in Rhinelander to see my Sister Ginni. She and I have chatted on the phone several time this year, lol she is not a big phone person, but as soon as she got her land line hooked up with a new service, she called to tell me I should call her any time! She is so cute..

OMG, Stacey, I very much enjoyed your Post on Jonathan. That is the Sweetest picture of him and Santa!

Oh yea, the third Child was born on the 14th! Lila Rose, a healthy little beauty. 7lbs 12 oz. lol forgot to ask how long! mom and baby are home and doing well.

SEW Cool you and Linda Kay each got a new sewing machine!!
Marion, How special that Ross was with you and Kim in spirit, through a song.
Awe, too cute on CB wanting her 2 front teeth for Christmas. I hope you GD is healing with her broken arm.

Cindy, wow, nice ring!! LOL, I was in the Harley Dealer and saw the coolest card for you and Doug, heheh, hurry up and get married so i can send it!

Sue, Oh My I hope you are well on the mend from your fall. You doing ok?
Love the picture of the kids and Pup out in the snow.

Can't help but smile to Hear Joyce is back in the phone biz, yep a true Angel our Barb is.
Sunshine, I think about you all the time, hope you are doing well.

Where is Crissy?? Hope you and Dave are doing ok.

Oh yes, Thank you all for the Birthday greeting for Julia.

Linda Kay, Your Christmas tree is Beautiful. I love the ribbon.
...We finally got ours up yesterday and i think we will decorate it tonight, just waiting for everyone to get home.

Ohhh, the Brisket yummy any leftovers??? smacking my lips.

Lets see, have several favorite Christmas songs, all time is Oh Come All Ye Faithful.

Today, I watched some Christmas shows, one being The Nativity, loved it and each that I saw.
Also, finally wrote out my Christmas cards, hopefully everyone should get them before the week is over.

And that's about it
Hope you all are keeping warm and cozy.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-I miss the angel trees. When we lived in AZ it seemed that I always found an angel tree in some store I went to. I would pick 3 names and get things for those children. It was never expensive, maybe $10 each, but it was something to make their holiday nice. Were you talking about me and LK getting new machines?? If not, I am getting one too and can't wait!! I have several coupons for Joann's and will be getting some good thread and some clear bobbins since the one I have from mom takes metal ones..

LK-Love the tree-where are the lights though?? Ours has always been and will continue to be a hodge podge of ornaments. I always love the ones done in a color scheme, but refuse to give up all my fin ornaments!!LOL Is your tree always read and white, or is this new this year??

I told DH that next year for Xmas I wanted new counters!!LOL They won't be expensive-about $300 to do the whole kitchen (we have a common size and 2 parts of it are prefabbed already at Lowe's-just have to order the island piece to match)

Sue-no clue on okra-I think it is gross;)LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning tink!
My tree us a different color every year. The lights were not on as it was daylight when I took that photo. I will take more when it is lit!
Give johnathon hugs and kisses for us please?

Good morning
The okra i do is called Hill Country Red.
can get very large and yes i think its a woody type compared to Clemsom spineless ?
Mornining Tink . That is a cute pic of santa and son.
Hey Judy . I m going to email you about my DD. I thought you may want an update on her ?
Well my dh is home and we are doing fine . Lucy seems to be ok with him , its a good thing.
well we are off and running for the next few weeks. So i may be MIA.
have great holidays everyone, many many many T&P to you all
hugs and kisses to you all
sue and family

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Merry Christmas Sue! Enjoy the time with hubby!

Glenview, IL

Good morning.

Wow, How funny, I was wondering if your DH would be home for the Holidays!!
How grand for you and the Kids, a perfect gift.
Yes, please do update me on DD, Always think about her as well.
Wishing you and Family a Very Merry Christmas.

Stacey, I miss the Angel trees as well. When I worked in the one building we had the Angel tree every year. I always took 5 names, one each from the 5 of us. Now we have those Toys for Tots boxes at our Walgreens. We each take care of a gift...

Well, Last night, we did not decorate the tree, instead The gifts were wrapped. What a fun thing to watch and occasionally help the kids.
LOL, it started out with Julia and Anthony, while DH took Jake and his friend shopping. Then When they returned, Jacob wrapped his gifts...We hung a curtain across the threshhold and for warned when Dad was not to come in and i was booted from the room a couple of times. Breenie, was Good, wrapped her gifts as she bought them...You know, i got to tell you Watching and hearing their excitement just brought my Christmas Spirit up tenfold! Then, We all watched the final Survivor, Wow!!

OK off to get some coffee and wake Jake for wrestling.

Jaye, how you doing today??
