Deb that plant you asked about is a zinfandel oxalis. At least I think that is what it is called. It is easy to start. It's on my list over at the houseplant swap. :0)

Hope you have all had a good day. I sure have. Spent a good part of it in church, as that is a big part of my life.
Just in case I'm MIA for a while, I'll be taking this puter in tomorrow for a going over. It decides to "Monitor going to sleep" any time it wants to....even when I'm chatting with you. Called HP tech. for the monitor and here I go again...he tried to convince me I needed a new computer. Same thing happened last June....had to finally replace monitor. There was nothing at all wrong with the computer.
Remember, love you all and praying for the best for each of you.
Love & Hugs

Usually I'm wrong when I take a stab at a guess, Susie, but those large velvety scalloped leaves look like a Geranium. Do you recall starting any of them from seeds last Spring? You could also compare the leaves of your plant with the blooming example Neener posted today to see if it's a match, or look at other types of Geraniums in Plant Files. Really sorry I don't know for sure and can't help you out more.

What a day. I watered this morning, clipped dead leaves, consolidated more plants after throwing out the dead ones, vacuumed, swept, did three loads of laundry, unloaded the dishwasher, loaded another one, and took out the trash. Late this afternoon while watching the Steelers win, we enjoyed our traditional New Year's Sunday with a tray of cheese & crackers, another one with black & green stuffed olives & pepperoncini with slivers of celery & carrots with dip and roasted red bell peppers. Can't forget the bite size pieces of turkey & honey baked ham, little weirners dipped in BBQ sauce, and my fav sauteed shrimp.

My HP monitor did the same thing when it was new, Faye, til I changed the settings. You should be able to go into your Control Panel, click display, and change it so your monitor stays on til you shut your system down. I had to fiddle with it a while before it finally found it's brain. I hate you're having to go through this again.

WOW FOTV ...... made me tired just reading your post. Feel like I need a nap. LOL

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

me too! YAWN.. we did go to see True Grit new Years day. That was after I stayed up almost 24 hours re-doing the GREEN Rooms. Your growing rooms look great deejay!
Faye, I am with Fruity, go in there and fix it so it stays on x amount of time.

I heard a voice tell me what I need to work on New Years eve, after Joe went to bed.. it was the word Gluttony. Have been a glutton on most everything, now is time to try to change that.
( guess that means instead of 6 of joes homemade vanilla sugar cookies, only one>)
Back to work he went this am. I sure was spoiled coming home to his delicious cooking for the past two weeks.

My Paper whites are up.. it was an experiment. they cost ten cents on clearance. now what? LOL

Morning everyone! Hard to believe we are 4 days into the new year already!
Debra, love those hanging plant holders! Did you make them?

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

The Ace store down near my MIL had Amaryllis for $4 last week too, Susie, mostly red and a few white & pink. I passed. We were there having keys made and didn't notice any seed racks.

Amaryllis "Royal Velvet" on a 3' stalk started opening Sunday. Poor things are flopping every which way and uprooting themselves. Cannot wait to receive the supports I ordered.

awww that is so pretty!
Linda, no, I didn't make them, those are from my college girl, she decided they would get more use being planters than candle holder things. They have them at a place called world market and she loves that place, buys on impulse, and I get what she finds two years later in the bottom of her boxes she digs around in. I hope she finds more stuff for me. LOL

WooooWeeeee! sounds like a bad book to me. all those plants to dream about!!!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

I've been getting at least 2 new seed catalogs every day for a week. I have them spread all over my desk and piled on the floor with pages turned down. Probably won't get a single thing since most of it won;t grow here, but this time of the year I channel my Grandfather. One of his favorite winter activities was pouring over the Burpee catalog when it came. Back then I think it was the only seed company that sent out a mailing. Oh for that simpler time!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone, been a little MIA, Mom fell Sunday in the parking lot at Church straight back and really did a number on herself. She has/had a concusion but no broken body parts which I find amazing! She actually called me and wanted to go to the ER, so I knew she was bad. Just so thankful no broken parts......thank you thank you! So things have been a little off in the evenings and no time since this is the first of the year at work. I have thought of you all and will be back when I can calm all the things down to a dull roar again...LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh, so glad to hear she is not hurt too bad!

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

Great amaryllis. Look at Elvas go!!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

What a way to start the year, happ. Thank goodness your Mom is alright. Been thinking about you and knew something was wrong.

Love your blooms, Neener. I love how cheery they are on gray days. Snow's on the way tonight. Growing up we only had a Burpee catalog too. My Mom and Dad would sit around the kitchen table as he took out his pre-sold veggie orders for the following Summer and would call out the seeds he needed to fill them while my Mom made the list. Those were the good ole days.

Wow, Susie, that's a mighty wish list. So far my big whoop has been buying Baker Creek Seeds.....twice. Latest order came today. Now if I could get all of them to grow, I might have $$$ worth of plants next year...lol

(susie) Hastings, MI(Zone 5a)

Joyce, I am so sorry your Mom had that fall. Good Grief were you frantic? I am going to wish her a speedy recovery.
