She's about to...56

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Thank you girls. I knew you all were mule lovers, Like to try something different and that did it!!!☺

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Debra, sure hope you saved most of the plants! Geesh, I would have been so mad!
Faye, that plate is so pretty! Is it a Thomas Kinkade?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Are those mules you made clay or decorated cookies, I am so dense I can't figure it out...rofl. They are so pretty.

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Linda the plate and plaque are both Thomas Kinkade. I placed both on that table just to get the pic. The plaque is on another table and they both are under Thomas Kinkade pictures.
Char, I would love to!!!! If I was ever granted one wish, it would be to meet all the great people here. LOL and who wouldn't love a mule?

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

It's a date, this spring or summer, come on down. Faye, won't we have fun??
Happ, they are made of clay. Don't you love them??
Thomas Kinkadeis a wonderful artist. Love the light in his pictures.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

What a lovely vignette, Faye. Your newest Kinkade pieces look right at home :) Wonder what can we do to persuade everyone here to join us next Spring for our Round-Up?

Y'all are going to get tired of seeing my Amaryllis blooms. They'll fizzle out soon and that'll be all the blooms I have to show til Spring. This one's "Prelude" just starting to open today.

Well, hubby thinks the light leafed Cane begonia will now be tripled cuz I stuck them ( the broken Pieces) down in the pot. It was from Bonnie. I got a letter from her and she wants you all to know she is thinking of us all. She does not have internet at this time. She was going to KC to spend Christmas with her daughter.
I almost made Charlie a bunch of cookies, but was afraid he wouldn't like my doggie biscuit recipe.

The little T bulbifer seemed to do okay in the flying ride.. it has new arms coming out so I just scooped up the stuff it was sitting in and re-arranged it to a more safer place, right here where I can see it. The other Cane Begonia came from Rachel on the tropical forum, it is a red leafed cane begonia. It is in pieces, so here is hoping. I guess I should have them all together downstairs where They can be away from danger. It seems when like plants are grouped together, they do better. Maybe they "talk" to each other?
No cuttings now that are not rooted. Every thing is going great guns.
Faye, we love you and I am glad you had a wonderful birthday. I love your Kinkaid plate too.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Oh that Prelude is just drop dead gorgeous. She would look good against tropical hibiscus "little red riding hood", they would match. Too pretty! I love the white and red in that ones' face.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you could save most of them! Hope they all make it!
Love that pretty bloom! So vibrant!

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

Hi all ......... don't pay the ransom .... I've escaped!!!!!!!! LOL Internet has been down since Friday. Just got it back on today.

Happy Belated Birthday Faye!

Your starling story is amazing happ!!!!!!

Char ....... love the mule heads!

$1400 samoleons! Wow. Praise GOD!

Faye .... beautiful plate. Is that Thomas Kincaide? I just LOVE his work. Guess I should put that on my 'like' list, huh? :-) Where is "How did you choose your user name"? I bet that is interesting!

I've been 'down' since last week. Don't know what happened, if it is stemming from my ankle twisting or what. The pain has gone all the way up my leg to my hip, Or from my hip all the way down my leg, not sure which. Tried to go to work yesterday and ended up going to the Dr. within 10 minutes of setting in my chair. I can't set up straight or get excrutiating pain. Only comfort I can get is in my recliner with my feet up. Dr. put me on crutches indefinately. I have an MRI on the ankle tomorrow. Hurts, hurts, hurts. And down all weekend with NO internet! UGH! Showed DH I'm not addicted. lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Crit, glad your back! Sorry to hear about your leg/ankle/hip pain! Sure hope they can figure out what is causing it to hurt so much!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

awww poor Crit! I hope they find out a way to stop your pain ... praying for you, girl.
sheesh, you are so close to me, should I come down and tell the drs to make you better fast face to face? LOL

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! 56 degrees here this morning! Think it is gonna be a nice day!

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Oh Crit, no internet, in pain, on crutches, ok that sounds like a living h........wowzer
Yeah, I am not addicted to DG or gardening either...rofl..

Morning all, another short week and sooo looking forward to it. Then 4 months of no days off, dark in the am coming in and dark in pm going home......I am surely solar powered because I can feel it....rofl. But hopefully get lots of stuff done before fun time gardening starts or at least that are the best laid plans at this moment.

Meeting friends for our Christmas tonight which will be nice.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Crit, We probably all know the feeling of having"no internet."
Get yourself well. Hang in there.
Debra, that mule and those donkeys will eat any cookie I give them. Even a dog bisquit.
I've done it before and my dogs will eat Horse cookies. They are so mixed up.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Joyce, have a good time tonight. Really? 4 MONTHS?????? Come ONNNNN Spring!
Can someone please send me some rain or even some snow?

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

East coast would probably send you some...rofl. May have to ship it to you cause I don't know what they will do with it all....

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Was going to reply to other posts but.....Debra!!! you really want snow. Gosh girl, what's ailing you? LOL Snow is pretty and we needed it for the water but it is so messy and hard to walk in @ 4 or 5 am. (walking Snese & Hans)
SusanI for one would never get tired of your pretty blooms....jealous, but not tired.
Crit I am so sorry you are in pain and do hope it will be something simple that the Dr. can fix. With the pain going down your leg sounds like a back problem. Anyway, mine was. Finally had to have surgery. I pray that is not a factor for you. Thank you for the Bday wishes.
Thank you all for the Christmas cards. I will store them with the Christmas Deco. and read them all again next Nov. when the decorations are pulled out again.
Joyce, is it legal for a body to be worked for so long without a day off? Sounds like horrible punishment to me.
Round Up next Spring...just love the sound of that. Pleaseeeeeeeeee everyone if at all possible do try to make it. That is one way we can get to meet and put faces to names.
Love & hugs
Faye

Stuffed cabbage rolls will be done in about an hour! Come on down!

Somerset, KY(Zone 6b)

rrm, I think it was a Univercity in Texas that wound up with a fertile male mule and used him for breeding. I remember reading about it several years ago. But mule are usually sterile.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I think they had a female mule over seas somewhere that had a colt too. they are amazing creatures, I love them Marti.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Deejay, glad you are enjoying the pine cone. I just had to get it for you....I thought it was so cute. I picked up a few when we were in the mtns in Calif that are that big a long time ago. Nothing like the ones that fall from my trees. Course I am not sure I would want those pine cones falling on me or my house, let along hitting them with a mower.....rofl.

FLOYD, VA(Zone 6a)

God darn it I lost you all again! This is starting to really tick me off. I never had trouble keeping my threads lined up before. I'll never get caught up, so I'll just follow along from here. Unless of course I get lost again. :( Makes me wonder what else I'm missing.....

This is my Elvas Amaryllis this morning. The second shoot it produced and it is doing a third. That has never happened before. i cut it because it was so top heavy and the cats kept playing with it.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Still at work, last working day, end of month, end of qtr, end of year......always makes for a nice day. Waiting until the inventory counts are in and then I can finally go home....yeah!

I did go by a store today and bought 2 amaryllis, but darn if I can remember the names one was green something and I think the other was peach. Found some good Christmas bargin things at the nursery.

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

I remember a couple of you trying to figure out a way for your inside watering. I'm no plumber, so the hose stuff...I'm not going to bother as I'd just make a big wet mess. I am though, going to tag all of my plants by days of the week. Water certain plants on certain days. I still have to lug water jugs, but not as much at one time.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Isn't Elvas a beaut? Actually I think they all are. Some of mine have two stalks, most I've ever had. Your bulb must have been humongous to produce 3. Was just looking on evilBay for supports. Several of mine are reblooming and others are "about to".

Hurry up and go home, happ. It's almost New Year's Eve :)

Awesome job on the pinecone, Susie. Take some pic of birdies feeding when you're up to it.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

One was me, Maggie. Now wouldn't you think by now, hubby would have found an adapter. Looked in my Christmas stocking but no go. I'm either carrying pots to the sink or lugging a watering can. You be careful how much you lift!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

One was me, Maggie, but I had an old washer hot and cold faucet down stairs so this year I filled up a huge blue plastic tub and put a pump in it to keep the water fresh and the kens mix is already in it. I fill all the jugs and spray bottles from downstairs now instead of lugging them up and down like the past few years.
I love love love those beauuutiful amraylis. My black eyed susan vine is still blooming, so are my tropical hibiscus and my strictocardia morning glory. The alba moon flowers have quit blooming atm, but there are about 7 more buds forming.

My Betty Marshall has not only re-grown from her being chopped on for cuttings, but is now Y'ing. I love that brug.
mmm I love cabbage rolls. joe made some sausage and cabbage tonite yummy.
I hafta work from 6 thirty to 3 tommorrow boo hoo.

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

Debra, do you have a picture of your black eyen Susan vine?

Henderson, NC(Zone 7b)

Debra please tell me how you keep your tropical Hibiscus...I had 3 and have killed 2 1/2. Love them, just didn't know what to do with them. I need a couple of your green thumbs. Hope you are saving a Betty Marshall for me...please!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Faye, BM is a white that blooms like crazy, she is such a great performer. You will love her and could prolly use her to make crosses if you wanted. Of course you have a piece of her rooting as we speak. The other cuttings I have for you are growing like crazy. The hibiscus snow queen is rooted and is starting to leaf out. All my hibiscus are in big pots, they get lots of light, I keep them fed with brug food and sprayed with kens mix, and the more I trim them for cuttings the more they bloom. Even my Cajuns are green full and budding again. I love my basement.

here is the black eyed susan vine, she is growing under a light along with several other vines. She is two years old and has just now after two summers outside decided to bloom. She only gives me one bloom at a time, but I will take any bloom I can get.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Here is the alba moon vine bud, I think I posted a bloom earlier in the thread, or somewhere.. it is loaded with buds and opens at night.Godd smelling too. I had them outside in Pots, and brought them in after trimming them back, hoping to save them. I think it worked. they are also in lots of lights. I try to keep my lumins at over 1750 on a bulb. I have about 23 lights down there all around the perimeters of the basement, where the plants are. Our dropped ceeiling will not let us hang the long shop lights. this is how I have grown my basement nursery these past few winters.
