i think you should set them up - lay on the floor near something they left on the floor and play dead.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

O M G I love that. If I thought I would ever get up off the floor again I would try it,believe me.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

they can help you up when they trip over you:)

News Flash for your future. If you are over 70 you have no status.

Maybe if I fell against the refrigerator door.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

Oh no more bad news on this thread :( {{{{{Cousin Nut}}}}}

ROFL @ about playing dead ^_^

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Very funny, both Jo Ann and wha!

Chances are if you played dead over the washer and dryer they'd never find you.

Take revenge! Start playing music when YOU get up in the morning!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I'm glad I have such good advisers.
I cant get near the washer and dryer. I only use it every 2 weeks and with the hours I keep I can do a load before anyone is up.

I wasn't sure how well the robot vac would work....we had a robot vac for the pool that wasn't great....however, it would scare the dogs and maybe they'd behave for 5 min.

The cats take off when it beeps.

Smart kitties!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Jo, I would dress as weird as possible when the friends are there. Also, talk to yourself or imaginary friends. And laugh a lot.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

mi mi mi
♫Hello walls (hello hello) how things go for you today
hello walls, how things go for you today .... ♫

sing it over and over to a wall. Tee hee

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Big pink fuzzy slippers would help too.

Had WAY too much wine a few days ago and was not feeling too well. As the room was spinning, I wondered if drunks in the southern hemisphere have everything spin in the opposite direction as here in the north. Hmmm. Inquiring minds...

S of Lake Ontario, NY(Zone 6a)

I hate that feeling and usually 2 is my limit. I've just had one now and feel tipsy.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, it's nasty. I have not had any wine since, which is unusual for me. I have it almost every day this time of year. I don't usually drink beer too much in the cold.

(I was WAY past two!)

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I still haven't figured out how they don't get dizzy being upside down all the time.

Back to defending yourself, Play your favorite music as loud as you can stand it.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Phillip Glass at high volume will confuse them.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Hey, all the people from New York on this forum and you didn't share this good news with the rest of us??
PS 22 from Staten Island has been invited by Anne Hawthaway to sing at the Oscars!
Now this is a story I like reading! Watch the video, the kids just go nuts and who can blame them?

sorry I saw that on the news the other day... and didn't share... I am a slacker what can I tell you

:)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

WOW Pixie.
That IS a story.
Music teachers have such passion for their craft and get fabulous results from their students. They dont have enough jo security or pay.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I forgive you Allison ^_^
Made me smile, love how the little boy had to be taken off stage and out the door for some air!!! LOL

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Great story, Celeste. Thanks for the link. The joy of those kids is fantastic to see.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

I agree Pirl, love how some were crying, some just screamed, others stood with their mouth's open. It just made my day!

Thank you, Pixie.....that helped!

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Great video Celeste. Love watching their reactions. While there, I stumbled onto Greyson Chance.....Wow! another very talented kid.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Yes, I heard this yesterday morning. You don't say no to Staten Island, you know what I mean?? ^_^

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Well I said I'd give updates on Karen but really there has been no change. After the second surgery they removed the breathing tube, but that night they had to put it back in. She is still on the breathing tube and now has a feeding tube in place also. They said it would be a long slow road. It looks like her left side is significantly paralyzed but they won't know the full extent until she starts therapy. God willing, she'll wake up soon.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

So sorry.

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Thanks Ge, I feel so helpless when it comes to her family.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Keep yourself upright and steady so you can be usefull.
Powerlessness comes with situations like this.

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks so much, everyone, for the prayers and good thoughts for my brother. He had his surgery on Friday and went home yesterday. All the tendons were severed and had to sewn back together. He's in a lot of pain, and as anyone whose had surgery knows, the pain meds just don't really cut it. Please send continued prayers for a smooth recovery for him and that he will somehow find the money he will need to get his bills paid while he's out of work. He can't go back to work for at least 2 weeks. Sounds quick, if you ask me, but that's what the doc said.

I've been sick since Friday night with the stomach virus that's been going around. Finally feeling somewhat better today. Was sick all day yesterday, just wanted to sleep. Was aching all over.

Ronnie, that's good news about all the outpouring of help that family received for Christmas. Nice to hear some good stuff.

Victor, that's so sad about your MIL, but I can't agree that it's really so easy to quit. Everyone is different in that department. I know plenty who have quit successfully, but I know others who have not been able to do so.I have a friend from work who nearly died from an allergic reaction to that quit smoking drug called Chantix. She was in the hospital for over a month. She went back to smoking again, even though the nicotine was out of her system for some time. Too sad.

Sorry to hear the news on Karen, Celeste. Will continue to send good thoughts and prayers her way.

Karen

(Ronnie), PA(Zone 6b)

Karen continued good thoughts for your brother♥

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I don't think I ever said it was easy, Karen. Just said anyone can do it. We do plenty of things in life that are not easy. And people kick much harder addictions than nicotine - many narcotics, for example. It does not take a superhuman person to do it. Just the will. Same for any other problem over which we have control.

Glad your brother is improving.

(Arlene) Southold, NY(Zone 7a)

Hope your brother has a swift recovery, Karen. Two weeks does seem very quick for returning to work.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

- Yeah, I'd think more like 2 months!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, guys.

Hey, anyone whose interested in eco-tourism, check this out. This is a place I'd love to go to someday.
