You're good, Deb!
Coffee Break # 49 Happy Christmahanukwanzika!
A golf glove is a fantabulous gift Deb. Mine only last one season so it's always on my list. My tru luv is going to do a real tree again this year. He's so keen about doing Christmasy things. Did I mention he put out the Christmas Fairy and the Three Bears?
So pretty WC
Our friend is now awake, but still can't talk but good news...no paralysis
Nice tree WC I like it!!
Glad to hear that Jen♥
My husband seems to get more sentimental every year...must come with age!
That's terrific news, Jen.
Great news, Jen! Dnut, we need a photo of the Christmas Fairy!
great new jen!
Great news FlowAJen
That's very good news, Jen. Happy to hear it.
The tree's very pretty in the daylight, WC!! I could see more detail in the daylight shot. Very nice.
Welcome home, Harper!
Thanks everyone! ☺
- That's really good news Jen!
The girls gave DH a sweatshirt which says 'Bah Humbug' He doesn't like wrapping presents. Puts up the tree * with our assistant trimmers gone, will help decorate. He can reach higher that I can.
Good news, Jen. More bad news for me.
My MIL needs major vascular surgery or will start losing limbs. It's from smoking for decades and diabetes for the past ten or so years. She only really started taking care of it the past few years.
Sorry to hear that, Victor!
Sorry to hear that, will be praying for her
Thanks, Louise. We lectured her for the past 20 years. Some people just won't listen.
Thanks, Jen.
Sorry about that, Victor. Jack had surgery on each leg, has been walking as directed by the doctor - 20 minutes at a time, 3 times a day, and the doctor is VERY proud of him and the results have been excellent so there is hope for your MIL.
Sorry to hear that Victor....if it's not one thing it's another isn't it?
Thats great new Jen!!!
Very pretty tree WC.
Had an eye doctors appt. today the lovely doctor said she was going to give me a present. She was prescribing me glasses and I would be able to read for Christmas! Then she threw in a kicker .... she said "Bi" and I already wanted to return her present!!!
Yup, bi-focals and she can see the begining of a catatract starting but it's noting to worry about now. If this is how she says "Merry Christmas" I wouldn't want to see what she does for Halloween!
At least bi focals don't look like they used to and wearing glasses nowadays are COOL....I've been wearing glasses since 16
My brother has been since he was 6 but I WAS the only one in my family who didn't need them. Until now.
Thanks, all. Glad to hear Jack is doing well, pirl.
My wife has bifocals - very nice.
Sorry to hear your news Victor. Pixie I took the plunge with 'progressives' a couple of years ago. I still do the duck bob every once in a while but they really are slick once you get used to them.
Thanks D-Nut, those are the ones i bought, they will be ready next week.
sorry to hear about your mil victor
don't blame you about the glasses celeste - i hate having to wear reading glasses.
Oh Victor that is awful, so sorry to hear that. I so wish people wouldn't smoke. I quit when I was 24, right after my mom died.
Uh Oh Celeste, that stinks, my husband has bi's and never got used to them. So far I am getting away with cheapie readers!!
Things have gotten so much easier for crooks to steal your credit card number. Check this out: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/video/watch/81222283/
Everyone, please pray/send light/good thoughts, etc. for my brother right now. He cut his wrist really badly on a skill saw at work today and is currently in surgery at the Beth Israel Hospital. What a horrible thing to happen, and since he was working under the table, there will be no workman's comp. I pray for him and his wife and daughter, and hope they will be able to make the bills with him out of work.
Gorgeous, WC. Very nice. I like the night shot.
Jen, glad to hear your friend is now awake and no paralysis.
Celeste, glad to hear Karen is doing well, too. Prayers continuing to go out for both Karen and Jen's friend.
Bummer about having to get the bifocal glasses and the beginnings of a cataract, Celeste. I think I probably need bifocals by now, too. Been a few years since I had my eyes tested, but I can tell the close up vision and the distance vision have both gotten worse. I used to see really well close up. Now I have trouble seeing fine detail.
Sorry to hear about your MIL, Victor. Prayers go out to her, too.
Pirl, that is good news for Jack. You're right, there is hope if a person follows the doctor's orders.
Karen
Oh Karen how horrible for your brother, sure hope he is OK. Definitely sending good thoughts your way.
So much bad news here is something good...My SIL told me about a family that was in need of some real help for Christmas, plain hard working people, no welfare, no drugs, just hard working regular folk being hit hard with the economy. I offered to help and posted something on facebook asking for donations of toys and things for the kids. I was overwhelmed at the generosity of others, literally brought to tears. Three young kids will get to see Christmas this year!!
Wow - sorry to hear, Karen.
That's wonderful, Ronnie. Been reading lots about people stealing gifts, etc. Nice to hear good stuff.
Karen, praying for your brother.
prayers going out to him Karen
Best of luck to relatives of Karen & Victor.
I use progressive bifocals without problems. Main problem is remembering where I put my glasses. sunglasses have their own spot. We know what is important! :) I had my first cataract operation just over 5 yrs. ago. Can read ok with that eye. the left one was done last april & it does distance. One reason that I don't need the glasses so much any more, although I wouldn't recommend that has a method for reading, but Iam glad things are no longer blurry.
Praying for your MIL, Victor; and your brother, Karen.
So sorry to hear that Karen, your brother is in my prayers .
Ronnie thats wonderful! It was time this forum had some good news! :)
Thank you IrisMA, that helps ease my mind. Sunglasses....I always know where those are:)
Hi Harper! Nice to see you back posting and congrats on that A!! I'm not surprised, you certainly deserved it!!!!
Prayers for you & your brother, Karen, & your family as well, Victor.....health is the most important thing in our lives, but smoking is an addiction....if Doug hadn't had a stroke, he would have kept right on smoking. Pixie, I have contacts....one for near vision, one for far....works perfectly!
Thanks, all. Addictions can be broken if the will is there, Marilyn. My SIL, who had a major stroke two years ago, stopped cold for both pregnancies and then went back. There was no addiction at the end of nine months. She just did not want to stop. Even after the stroke, she returned in less than a year. If she has another, she will not be so lucky.
My MIL has had so many warnings. She had pre-cancerous growths in her throat almost 20 years ago. She was going to stop then. When we gave her her first grandchild, she was going to stop. When she developed diabetes, she was going to stop. We found out yesterday that, despite her lies, she is still smoking. The docs will not do the surgery if she is still at it.
I have lost so many family members to this that I am in a unique position. My mom stopped cold-turkey many years ago. I know many who have stopped. There was nothing special about them. Anyone can stop.
Lots of health issues with diabetics, asthmatics too. Good luck to your MIL Victor.
-That's terrible news Karen! Hoping to hear some much better news about your brother soon!
hope your brother is ok karen
i agree with you victor
I guess this is the "good grief" thread.
My gripe is this.College kids are home. Strangers in the kitchen and comming and going all hours.
I have released the Roomba robot cleaner.
Its not going to pick up winter coats or gym bags left in the middle of the hall.
It doesnt pick up pizza boxes or chinese food containers.
It isnt an answer to a real vaccume that goes where you want it to and sucks up bug chunks. It has stopped after 10 minutes of an hour job because its stuck under a dinningroom chair.
I dont believe these things are worth what people pay for them even on E-Bay.
I am going to kill myself tripping over the kid stuff.
