My Violet Hour Daylily (TET) for "2011'
My Garden
Rosy, you are so good to take pictures. Pretty flowers. Thanks for sharing. Are you having cooler weather? Weather here has been wonderful--especially for August!
Hi, Birder, Thanks, Yes the Weather was very nice here for awhile, but it's suppose to start getting hotter soon. I did get some flowers transplanted though. I think I'm going to try Pollinating a couple of Daylilies. Like I know what I'm doing (not)
I'm glad you guys got a break in the weather, hope it stays that way. You guys really deserve it.
Very nice! I have a Jackmanii but think it died. It is real crispy. We can't water everything.
Sorry to hear about your Jackmanii, maybe it will come back when the Weather cools down. I take it you haven't had much rain there.
I planted some Daylily seeds today August 26, 2011
These seeds were given to me by 2 different davesgarden member's Thanks

Wow! Flowers are beautiful. We haven't had much rain. Every thing is pretty dry here. I water some but can't really get to all of the gardens. We don't have enough hoses! We have lots of gardens on timers.
Birder, Do have a Nursery? You talk about lots of garden's that you have to water. I bet you have a lot of beautiful flowers.Do you post any of them on Davesgarden? We could use some rain here, Im just glad we aren't on the East Coast right now.
Happy Gardening
Here's picture's of some Iris's that I ordered from Mt Pleasant Iris Farms.

No, I don't have a nursery. I just have gardens cut out of some of the lawn and around the house. I do have lots of area in flower garden. I have taken pictures, but I don't put them on the internet. I have been trying to make a scrapbook of my garden for each season.
Your iris choices are beautiful. I don't know how you keep up with all of your flowers and planting stuff since your husband is physically limited. I depend on my husband quite a bit to help me in my gardens. Thankfully, he enjoys the pretty flowers and gardens. Years ago, he would not do anything in the yard, but has done a 180*. It makes me happy! :)
birder, sometimes it get's a little hairy to try to keep up with everything, but I don't have as much space as most people do, sometimes I have to give flower's away to make room for more. My DH never has been interested in helping me with my gardening he use to sit outside and watch me work, once in awile he would help, dig a hole for a tree or for an arbor, but's that's all. My Iris's and that beautiful Daylily came today while we out buying some potting soil, and they were a little droopy when I opened them up. They weren't suppose to come until next week. I had been transplanting flower's early in the mornings when It's been cool. I don't like to plant them in the heat, so I'll have to plant them tonight. I was going to rest tonight, but can't now, oh well no rest for the weary. I better be thankful. Thanks birder for liking my choice of Flower's.
By the way my house is a wreck right now.
"BTW, my house is a wreck right now" :) Whew, at least I know your not supper woman! If you're outside working in the yard, the house has to wait. I am too exhausted to do both in the same day.
I have a hard time parting with flowers that I have in my yard. I love to share, but to completely give something away...I find that difficult. I always try to find another place for a plant. If I can't give extras away, I try to find another place for the flower instead of tossing away the extras. I have become a little better about composting them. Maybe it's 'cause I am running out of room? :)
I thought that was funny when you said Whew, at least I know your not supper woman.LOL
Most of the plants I give away are usually Daylilies that I have to divide. I am going crazy over Dayliles, and Iris's right now so I had to get rid of something. I had some Stella's that I had to divide last year, and I have somemore I have to divide this year or in the Spring. Hope you don't run out space. Don't work to hard, and Happy Gardening.
