My computer is working again, but my sewing machine froze up this morning, so when hubby got home from work, I had to drive 70 miles one way to get a new one! I got a Brother SQ9000.

It came with a big bed for sewing larger projects, and so many attachements! I have no idea what half of them are for, but I will read the book tonight, and figure it out!

Marion stay warm please? You may not have anyone to place your feet on, but you do have that special pillow case!!! Sounds like you need an electric blanket! Ilove ours! I turn it on about 30 minutes before I go to bed, and the bed is so toasty warm!

Sue, I have a comforter that keeps me really warm. We keep the house settings rather low (65) and just layer--not bad as this house is very comfortable at that setting. Just like to have someone to cuddle with but alas it is what it is!! Still have the "biting cat" if I want something to sleep with really, really bad and oh yes, the pillowcase!!!

Seen the new trailers LK? Congrats on the new sewing machine. I know you will enjoy.

Kathy, looks like Smart might not being going to UF--sure makes Kim happy. I hadn't planned to set up a tree either since we will be out of town but I think now we have decided to set up a medium Norfolk pine.

Lots going on today so I had better get busy.

Been a sad few days for me - anniversary of my Dad's passing, and I still miss him - 30 years later....... I know, I know - some have fresher hurts, but it does still hurt.

Had a nice Church Christmas supper at a local restaurant last night, just for the adult class. We played "Greed" or Chinese Christmas :( (Don't know why it's called that cause I'm an honest Chinese)
I 'stole' a gift, a vase set, that I don't realllllly need.. but seeing how the lady clung on to it tightly, I just had to do it!
None expect me to misbehave :D But, that coveted gift was stolen from me and the replacement was a frame. When it's one of the guys turn to pick a box.. I beg him to take mine and even put up a dollar. Boy.. he grabbed the frame and hurriedly put the dollar in his pocket. That was a hoot!! Yep.. he's 'framed'!! Lol!!
Anyway I ended up with a set of cosmetics that I won't even use.
Kel first pick was stolen too, a set of hex wrench and he ended up with a bottle cookie mix. Hmmm.. neighbour's Christmas present?

Alrighty.. off to cook.. it's in the 40's. Carnitas anyone?

OH me for Carnita please!! Funny thing, I met Kim in Bainbridge yesterday and before we came home we stopped at a great Mexican place---yeap Carnitas. Oh so yummy. I bought a package at Costco and we tried them last week--surprise! They really were good.

Will respond about Smart doing the smart thing later--need to run some errands and stop by the post office.

Well, I live right next to Mexico, and I have never had a carnita! But they sound good!

LK you don't know what you are missing--they are wonderful--especially with a nice avocado sliced and lime juice too.

Next time, I'll remember the avocado, Maid M, and make that trip to Costco.
Had it with saffron rice.. giving it an Indian flair. LK, I use your Julio's seasoning.. plus extra garlic...so delicious.

Had my girlfriend luncheon here yesterday and have been busy trying to get the rest of the decorations up and the house cleaned and the luncheon food ready. We had a great time. The 4 of us have so many traits that are a like that it's just plain FUN when we get together!

We've got lots and lots of snow today and it's still coming down. They were predicting 3-5, but it looks like more than that to me. So it's an indoor kind of day. I didn't make the Benne wafers (sesame seed cookies, Jaye....) I put the sesame seeds in the oven to toast and forgot them.... :o( so now I have to wait until I go to Jungle Jim's again to get more seeds cause they're too expensive to buy in those little bottles at the market!

So maybe today will be some candy making (thanks, LK!) and some Mexican Wedding cakes and pressed Christmas tree cookies. Like my waistline needs ANY of it!

A very busy day today with my pillow and a bottle of Advils, and thank God, the weatherman is right. No storm like the old guys in town were expecting.
Here I am complaining of the 30s and Barb and Cookie have to fortify themselves with more layers of clothing and balance themselves walking thru' the snow.

Kel came home for lunch and had to pop in some Gorton's Fish cakes. Tonight, guess what? He'd be popping in something else in the oven if he wanted some food. Either that or take-out.

Gonna meet that pillow.. not as nice looking as Maid M's :D

well, went christmas shopping again today. i am finished (i think). now i have to finish baking and wrap the presents. i even got a tree today. i bought a real one
5 foot douglas fir at lowes. they only charged me 9 dollars
