Jaye - I got some brandy tonight - apparently it doesn't stay in the system (only alcohol that Doesn't) and it helps you sleep. So it won't react badly on you.
Mind you, brandy is a sweet drink, so maybe you need to watch out for your diabetes?!?!

Susan, my cocktail is a sleeping pill (only 7.5mg) and a muscle relaxer.

Do have some brandy. Saving that for a special occassion.. like when ehem.. ( I be nice!!! Will let you know over the phone)

Thanks for your kind thoughts everyone. As a former nurse I have a kind of slanted view of the medical profession I guess. They do manage to do some good amidst the suffering the cause. :0)

Cold as all get out today. Man it is too early for this. Stay warm all and Marion I'm drinking a Kahlua k-cup coffee right now. One of those cakes sounds pretty good. :0)

Talk about kick backs on drugs prescribed! A few years ago, on New Years m orning, I woke up with a b d sore throat, and chest congestion. I could not get in to see my regular Dr, so I called a clinic and they had me come in right away! The PA that saw me told me I had lymes desease, just by looking at the white spots on my arms. She gave me 7 prescriptions and 3 of them were antibitotics.
I asked her what about my sore throat, and chest congestion, and she just told me to come back in 2 weeks!
Well, I went from her office to the ER to get treated. When I went to the pharmacy to get all those meds, they told me it is against the law to prescribe all those meds together, so they would not give them to me.
The next week, I saw my regular Dr, for a follow up, and told him what was going on, and he called some medical group, and got her into a lot of trouble. He told me to call the CDC, since Lymes is a contagious desease, and the CDC, told me there has never ever been a confirmed case in Texas! So they also did an investigation on the quack Dr!
Not all Dr.'s are good ones I guess!

Nope cake glaze doesn't need to be lit-but you can if you want to. LOL I love Kahlua in my coffee so pour me up some as I am heading out the door. I emptied my bottle yesterday baking.

Got a call last night that my youngest GD fell and broke her collar bone and hurt a shoulder in the process. What a tomboy that one is. Her only concern with the brace and sling she has to wear is "how am I going to hold my drum in the Christmas play?" Got her priorities in the right place.

Oh Marion, so sorry to hear that news about your Granddaughter! Praying she heals quickly!

((((((((((((((((JOYCE))))))))))))))) That was the same decision my dad's 94 year old mom made when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. She was so feeble and couldn't walk anymore there's no way she would have made it through the treatments, plus she was blind and almost deaf and as she said that's not living anyway and didn't want to deal with it. She told us that 94 was a ripe old age and she was proud to outlive her husband, all 11 brothers and sisters, and all 31 1st cousins.

Juanita I've missed you, and so sorry he's not responding to the Chemo, many many many prayers going out to him as well.

Marion I'm so sorry about your GD! OUCH I've broken my arms 5 times, right once and left 4 times and oh how that must hurt. Hope her bones heal fast!

Neener....thanks so much for that....it really helps to know that our decision seems to be the right one. Like I said before, she isn't in any pain right now, and she'd rather go out gracefully and sooner. We're all sure that it's the right decision, even though we're sad for ourselves...

The crying comes at odd times....just when I think I've got it all under control, something sets me off.....suppose it will be that way for the rest of time.....

Oh my goodness Marion!!!! the things youngsters get up to!!! good age to heal fast!! thank goodness....
that is about the age my youngest broke two legs, 5 breaks total!!! the doctors said he would be in casts and then braces for months and months!!!! he showed them !!! was out of casts in less than half the time they thought, and same with the braces after!!!

a five year old wild boy (ADHD) in two full leg casts is not fun!!

Yikes Thunder!! You did have your hands full. Well Catie-Beth is doing fine--proud of her newly acquired items to show off. In the past year and a half she has had a broken finger demonstrating her ballet dance and tripping over a box; a badly cut foot--which she couldn't really help and now falling off the couch. Who needs a grandson with one like her? LOL

It's too darn cold to do anything and poor sistahs with white flakes outside :(
When I ran errands for Kel.. I normally like to stop at some dollar stores..but not when it's this cold. Just want to get things out of the way and get back to a warm home.

My BFF in Indiana is an oncology nurse. She's always emailing me on natural ways to improve my health. Lately she's on this fungus free diet.. and out of respect for her concern, I gave up mushrooms! Sigh...

Those were the days when I'd have Kahlua's with coffee and Drambuie in my tea. Now I'll just have a dash of cocoa in coffee and a dash of sugar free raspberry syrup in tea!!

I was a little tomboy too, climbing trees... running kites with the neighbourhood boys.. but nothing that serious ever happened to me.
Guess Mum got lucky with me!!! Only bad thing that ever happened to me was when I burnt the hem of my dress when I didn't throw the fire cracker far enough!

I'm apparently uncoordinated. 3 of the 5 were on roller skates, once was at work when I worked at a fast food restaurant, the floor was slippery and I slipped, cracked that bone that's on the tip of your elbow, and the other I was 3 I think running after my grandfather and tripped on a brick (left wrist.) Needless to say I don't skate, ski, climb, or do anything that requires balance because I have none of that.

Attended the Christmas program for the youngest. You should have seen how the manage to hang her drum so she could play it!!! A hit for sure.

Duh, I didn't even realize I had stated it like that. Oh well, good thing you know I am blondish/grey. Actually she is wearing what they call "figure 8" brace and a sling for her arm. The tied a long red ribbon to match her dress around her waist and then tied the drum to that so she could play. What a production it was as all the other children around her had to step aside so they could do this and then the look on her face. Can you say ham?

First worst as a child, more young teen, I jumped from something, landed wrong and sprained my ankle so badly.
At the time, i had a "sister" that told the parents she saw me skipping around, They didn't believe me so it never got treated, I think it took about 3 months to heal, sigh, shaking my head, never mind the beautiful shades of a rainbow triple the size of my normal foot, Hahaha, yep according to her I faked the whole thing because i wanted all the attention!!...Yikes, then when i was about 22 had a little collision on my moped and sprained that same foot!! Needless to say, I am probably overly cautious when it comes to safety, lol ask my kids, just cringing at watching them, haha even now with them grown, i am still a worrier, my favorite saying is stop! or someone's gonna get hurt, lol they shake their heads.

Hey, remember I took a jar of tomato juice...Well we finally used it, DH taught julia to make chili and They used it with the sauce...Was delicious. Also, we used the second jar of Salsa, uhm it disappeared in a matter of 45 minutes...outstanding.

Hi Everyone, i have been trying to keep up with the threads. Sabina using computer a lot for her photography class! She is quite good, I have to admit. LOL, of course, photography is another wonderful aspect of Art, so she loves it. I can't wait to see the portfolio she is turning in. It's a huge part of her semester grade, well that IF she shows me.

So in meantime, i have been decorating house for Christmas, humming christmas tunes and just having fun. Working on the sun room tonight...Tomorrow night we are having a 21st birthday for Julia, it's Sunday...I just have to tell you about her cake. I ordered it today.
It's a yellow cake with a custard filling. The top is being decorated like a poker table, 4 hands dealt. 1st hand 9/3=12 +face down card 2nd, king/2=12 + fd card 3rd, an 8/9 ='89 (birthyear) and the 4th, Queen & Ace of hearts=21!! LOL, i was just tickled to pieces to have come up with the idea this morning...i was cleaning up the sun room, deck of cards on table as usual, they love playing poker, ROFLOL, just outdid myself in pleasure, cant wait to her face when she figures the hands played being her birth date and age, heheh.

LOl, thats about all my excitement for the day. I got kind of sick today, still not right, so just taking it slow.
