Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving. Holiday season is upon us. I'll be taking out the decorations today but will probably not start until tomorrow.
Coffee Break # 48 - Holiday 2010 edition
pretty!!!
Nice!! I don't want to think about decorations or cooking today. My plan is to relax and enjoy my extra 2lbs. I gained from yesterday :)
Advent calendar comes out Dec. l. Not much decoration until then. Have to remember to put wooden Swedish Christmas trees on the mantel.

nothing wrong with that... I hope the rain quits... we wanted to start working outside on the decorations ... not looking good for today
Yes - relaxation is job number one today!
I'm going to the stores today w/DW just to pick up a few things for her, - love to see all the happy people x-mas shopping!
Weeeee! happy new year!
Are they happy?
I don't like crowds, or crowds of impatient shoppers.
Luckily we have tons of stores here as well as two big outlet malls nearby, as long as I stay away from Macy's & JC Penny it's not so bad..
Online shopping is the only way for me!!
Me too! Will be going to a small specialty store in a nearby town for small gifts, like Harney's teas, Stonewall Kitchen jams, etc.
Karen - LOL - no, I don't read an entire book every night. I went back and read that post and laughed because that's just how it read. I read every night, but it takes me more than one night to read a book, even though I am a fairly fast reader. I guess I should have said I look forward to reading every night! lol
Going to visit my brother in a little bit.
My nephew's wife, went shopping last night starting at midnight...she had a list of the stores she was going to with what time she had to be there, her coupons all ready, then had to be at work at 7am....NUTS
Yes, very! Heard a number of fights broke out.
I do a lot of online shopping too...My SIL and her sister do the Black Friday thing every year and love it. They were going to walmart at 12 for tickets that you couldn't use until 5, they napped in the car....crazy! Rather be in my warm bed!
Cannot remember the last time I bought any Christmas gift in a store.
brewed beer today - did stop at hd for bird seed - the lots were full at the malls although there was not much traffic? i think a slow xmass is on the horizon for retail.
I think it will be better than last year.
depends if folks are ordering on line and not going to the stores - will probably shoot up there again tomorrow and pick up a few things
Online sales increase every year. Been true even throughout this depression.
Uh oh! Another expense for us all!!

thanks .....browsing
I've done a lot of internet Christmas shopping in the last few days. I'm cutting down my need to go out to a store drastically. There are a few gifts that we will enjoy selecting at a specialty store here, but otherwise....I'm making great progress. I took all of the gifts for my son/grandpuppy with us when we went back north for a bit and left them at his house when we were there. That's a big part of the list done and delivered. I've finished shopping for Hank now too. Our 22nd anniversary is Friday and we decided to buy ourselves tickets for South Pacific (touring company) in January and just go out to dinner on Friday. That way we'll have a nice outing to look forward to in January. I bought the tickets online, but wish I had driven the 2 miles to buy them in person when I saw the "convenience fee" for buying them online. C'est la vie! lol
Louise I read that and thought you were going on a South Pacific cruise...LOL
How in the world can someone claim they own the sun, or a planet for that matter?
That LTD looks exactly like Lakeside Collection and Collections Etc mixed together..
LOL! Louise, that's okay. Good to hear you love reading as much as I do. Reading or watching movies. Like both, actually. Sounds like you 2 will have a nice anniversary. Happy 22nd to you 2!
Had to work today, and did not partake in the early morning madness of Black Friday shopping. I've never been a morning person, anyhow. I did go to a few stores today, mainly Borders Books and Walmart. Both were busy, but I guess I missed the mad rush. Wasn't at Walmart until around noon, and didn't have to wait in line at the register. Got in and out quick. Most of the shoppers I encountered were not rude. There were police at Walmart, and the greeters were checking everyone's receipts as they left.
Was at the mall today, and the parking lot was pretty packed. Walmart's lot was pretty full, too, but I lucked out and got a parking spot up close.

Jen I think LTD and Lake Side are the same company. I like LTD, got a few things for my GDs.
I'll pass on the "sun tax" and see what happens!
The tree on the porch keeps blowing over.
I will have to wait for DD and GD to straighten it in the stand and tie it to the colum. So much for decorating for the first Xmas event here.DD's golf group are having their party, then the neighborhood on Dec.11
Then Crismiss day for the family.
That should fulfill our obligations for a few more years.
Celeste got me hooked on lakeside... love cheapy catalogs
I was looking at the dog breed pet throws on that LTD website, and all they had was 4 breeds. Bummer.
Ridiculous to think anyone could tax us for enjoying the sun's rays. Preposterous to think anyone could own the sun at all. We will all still enjoy the sun's rays, whether or not we pay a tax on it. She can't cut us off. That is the most preposterous idea of all.

I'm tired today, but not from shopping....I sat for the kiddies for 6 hours yesterday....Grant only slept for 30 min. ! My DIL went to Target's...she said no lines at the registers. My stepdaughter brought over everyone's Christmas presents on Thanksgiving, all wrapped & waiting for me to put up the tree....her cards are also done....I say she's too organized!
Oh man!!!! wrapped already???!!!!
I've ordered from LTD for well over ten years. Cheapie stuff, but reasonably priced.
DW and I went shopping yesterday afternoon/evening for grandkids. Shelves were virtually empty from the early AM shoppers. Only found one item we were looking for. I already got DW's things, two a local stores and one on line. Now I just have to get her stocking stuffers. Merry CHRISTMAS!!!
Hi Frank. Nice to hear from you! Merry Christmas to you too!
