Gosh Faye, do you have fibromyaigia? How horrible for you to hurt so bad. I wish I could come and give you a nice gentle rub on your upper shoulder and arm area, I used to do that for Pauline a few years ago, and she sure did like it.
I made my first batch of english Toffee tonight, without a double boiler or a thermometor and College Girl said it was perfect. Some little old lady on my bowling league brought it to our bowling xmas party and I had to have her recipe. that woman was around 76 and could bowl a 200. I bowled for almost 20 years, but it has been at least five since I have tried it again.
Gee, am I so attached to my gardening that I can't stand to be away from it anymore?

Hay, guys and dolls, the toffee is a BOIL and constant stir with wooden spoon toffee, it is good excersize for one hand, wrist and arm, if only I were ambidextrous. LOL

Oh, I see, it is a boil recipe that you made without the double boiler and thermometer. I misunderstood. I thought you meant it was a no-boil. Oh well, I can dream. Hope it came out well. ^_^

TOFFEE...Ahhh that sounds so good right now! I've been on a strict junk food diet all day today. I bet it smells wonderful.

It turned out pretty dang good considering I have a 25 year old corning top stove, and a 30 yr old revere ware pan, and a 22 yr old wooden spoon.. The old "drop it in a dish of cold water to see if it balls" up really works, just like my Momma always told me it would. God Rest Her Grouchy Old soul. LOL

I still have all my old Revere Ware too. Love the stuff!!

Some mamas are just grouchy, aren't they? Not every mother is like you'd want them to be. :(

hehe.. well, she was okay.. we only became reunited after I was 35.. left home at 15.. She taught me a lot.. mostly how to talk loud when calling a bar to see if she was there.. *ahem*

Any Hoo... for about 3 years, she taught me how to make candy, jelly, can things, and bake things. Scrub a toilet, wash panties on a scrub board, run sheets thru a wringer, and bring in frozen sheets in the winter. All in all, she really was good, when she was home and sober.
That is why some of her ashes are in my flower bed out back.. she was the best dang flower grower I ever knew, next to my grandma and great aunt effie. I have never grown the peonies the way those two old ladies did, and prolly never will.
Sheese it is so windy here, I hope the roof doesn't blow off, it is cold here too.

Thank you all for the kind words about my strange decorating. Wish you could see my Charlie Brown Tree. LOL Susan, this was done because my arms hurt, it didn't make them hurt. This pain has been going on for about 6 months now and I have had all kinds of test and all have been neg. Thank God I did not test positive for fibromyalgia. I think the next step is to see an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Maggie, so good to see you back and a big thank you for the Angel postage. Remember all of you....I still have lot's of Angels and would loveeeeeee to share. LOL

I used to rub Blue Emu into Paulines shoulders lower neck and across her back. She really loved it on her arms and calves too. I sure do miss that woman. she was just the best "MOM" I ever had. Hi Debra, I don't have Dogwoods and have no idea anything about them.....PLEASEEEEEEEE get on that bus, train or anything coming this way. You have no idea how much I really would love to have everyone show up here. Betcha Ray and I both would not want you to leave. How about an everybody Birthday Party.

Faye I Get A Sholder Pain also It Feels worse then a toothache I would have to Use my right arm to move my Left arm to roll over in bed at night .
My doc gives me a Cortizone shot In the Join Of the sholder. it last about 3-4 months , I have had all types of test & Nothing Shows up as being wrong with it,
But after the shot in the arm I'm good as gold for the next 3-4 months. Hope you can maybe ask your doctor to try that before you try surgery for some time surgery can cause more pain after.

well the snow is falling , Dads haven a Hissy for margaret wants to go with her Son & DIL To IND For her GD's Graduation From Something Not sure what. & The weather is going to be bad. As Most Of you Know Daddy is 97 & A worry wort , so I will have my hands full with him today .

Hope to get more baking done today Want to get the yule logs made , & a few fudges , I have a few gift boxes to make up for friends this next week , I do have to take breaks so will check in when I Can.

Morning everyone! Bitter terrible cold here. It is 7 and the wind blowing. Thank goodness we only had a light snow because the wind is so strong it piled up against everything, our driveway has some big drifts....ughhh! Glad my plants are under at least a little snow to help protect them.

I wouldn't mind asking for help, if it wasn't for "in a minute", "let me finish this", or "do we have to do it now".....ugh! 2 hours later...maybe. I have alot of single friend females who have forgotten about being married, cause they make statements like well you have DH to help.....I want to say girls sometimes that is a big anchor telling me why I should NOT do something.....

DGD came over yesterday to help decorate, she is 4 but we got maybe 3 ornaments on the tree and the next 5 hours we played with pipe cleaners and stuff. She is so funny, I am going to buy her a huge roll of scotch tape for Christmas, I gave her a roll I had and she had more fun taping pipe cleaners and Christmas paper. It is the simply things in life.

Went to a Christmas party last night in the blizzard so everything this morning is a mess. Oh well. At least I got the tree up. Almost all of my decorations are made by my family when my niece and nephews would spend a weekend with me during Christmas and we made ornaments and Christmas cookies. We did it for about 15 years. Now when DGD gets a little older I can start the tradition again. I tried this year but she was busy doing other things...LOL

I use them in all plants and the compost bin and the potting soil mix, didn't know about it being a flea repellant or cat deterent. Definatley will try those two things. Thanks!
got a lamb roast on, chili made, chicken strips ready to deep fry, two batches of cookies made. REST time is coming soon.
That Elvas is sure purty to look at.

I think the cat deterrent works with only certain cats. My Delilah is the oddball cat, she will try her hardest to drink from my cup of coffee and rolling in used coffee grounds. (They were in a container on the top.) Then again she also likes taking baths with my son.

Oh Debra, dogwoods do grow here, only I don't have them. I like the way you think Carole, I'll be waiting for you and the entire bus load. Susie those shots in the joints sure do sound painful....but then, so are my shoulders.

Faye : It Is Not Painfull for they have a SPRAY Out That DEADENS The Area Before the shot Just ask your Doctor you will see a Big differents with just a couple days , PAIN FREE For 3-4 Months.

DEBRA : Carefull about sending any BRUGS Right now till after the HOLIDAYS Mail Is Slow I Sent 4 cuttings to a gal in NC Now she wants me to replace them for she said they were frozen & I Wrapped them in Papertowel a baggie & Then Whole stem in DBL Newspaper . took 4 days prioity mail & Conf # .
I won't go in the rest of our corespondents . let me just say it is a sad trade.
anyway just wanted to say better wait for shipping till after the new year when mail is not so heavy .

I sent a box out on monday last week to a gal, and the PO said it was undeliverable and I have no clue to where it is now. And that was with confirmation. You are right, it is really bad on the mail right now.. good news....
