Yes, I caught Sharon fooling around with the gardner and getting sick, then gave it to her half dead husband. Where did you get yours JB?
Sharon, finding a professional painter within a hundred miles of here would be like finding a needle in a haystack. You have got to be kidding. I thought I had one but got the wife instead and then she decided she didn't want to do it until next spring. Well, I started washing the walls in preparing for painting, we'll see how far I get with it.
JB, let me know what heading you look under in the yellow pages for that foolin' around gardner. Should be interesting. And Dave's "lady" friends? Ladies, what ladies? Oh I know the ones you mean, the one looking under the couch for that bottle of booze she hid under there. JB!! What, you can't get back up??? Dislocated what???
Wow Dave, what a great price on those JMs. Wonder if she still has her job. Too bad. But good sale.
Yes Dave, it does come back up but if it snows enough, after the ground is frozen, it won't get down that far. However, where we get in trouble is when it keeps freezing and thawing. With no snow. Like last year. All year it did that but did not snow. I think I got most of my plants watered good a couple weeks ago and then I mulched but I know you are not suppose to mulch at that time but if I wait until after it freezes I won't have the inclination to go out there and mulch.
Plant Propagation part XIV based on my own experience
We have already been in the 20's, but most nights have been 32 or a little higher in the last few weeks, which seems early for us, but the West is supposed to be having a very cold winter this year. Hope not like you guys had last year back east of us Western folk. I would be terrified to have as much cold and snow as you all did. It would be so claustrophobic and I would fear pellets running out for the stove, heat and power losses for weeks on end. How would you pay your bills if you could not get out of your driveway or on the roads or if your job lost power. It had to be scary. My friend Shar who used to write for DG, lost power in KY for like 2 weeks. Her animals were freezing in the house. Scary to me.
Worse to be someone who is in poor health like Dave and face all the pain that is magnified by the cold.
Jeanette:
Its good you got them mulched i say its better to get er done. The thing is when it gets above freezing watering might help. of course that is if the weather cooperates. but of course thats what we do here to help everyone survive the winter.
Lets just pray for a good snow fall early enough to protect everyone.
Dave
I have not mulched a lot this year. I did bring some stuff in for the first time though. I need to mulch some stuff still. It is a storm, back to back to back of rain supposedly though for the next 2 more days. I can't slop through all that mess now. I am on a medical work injury of restrictions so I really can't do a lot of stuff that I would have done. My doctor thinks my rotator cuff is torn and possibly my labrum too. Just great.
We had a bout of ice that put over 600,000 without power for a long time 2 years ago. luckily we had my folks lake place to go to where they had everything except internet and cable but hey what matters when you have to rough it. It really was a bad one too one of my worst winters I have pics too. Trees where exploding and snaping off like twigs. one tree a block from our place fell over on the 2 cars and wiped out the roof on the home. bad thing was they had 3 deductables from insurance. the tree put a huge v in the cab of the truck. we had trucks from all over the nation come in. it took them 4 months to get all the debris picked up.
they brought in a mulching machine that looked like it was 20 ft across and would mulch up entire tree's and I am not saying the small ones. huge ones 4 and 5 ft across. it was tough. good news is we have them every so often its about a 15 year cycle.
When the trees would explode it sounded like gun shots going off. it was like some one put a charge inside the tree and it just had splintered the entire trunk.
ahh but thats in the past.
so yes its scary to think about. but if we dwell on it then the dark side wins ... I think ... or is it who ever has the most toys wins... i forget
Dave
See that crap would scare me from going back to Ohio. I would really like to though in some ways. We talk about moving sometime but don't think I could do the shoveling and the power outages etc. I can't take humidity either. Though I don't remember Ohio being excessively humid, though Maybe I Just Don't Remember since I left at 11.
Show pictures of that Dave
ouch ... i went through the ole rotator cuff repair. its a painfull one to deal with but the surgery is a breeze. microscopic non invasive most of the time. of course if they find more wrong they may need to open it up. You are in my prayers. any idea on when they will operate??? of course insurance has to say yes. so it might be late december.
Dave
I will try to find them. where in ohio did you live???? I went through 8th grade in the columbus area then to florida ahh the sunny south. better than 6 months of snow and the gray days... thats about all i remember but the kids stuff was fun too
well its well past my bed time.
ttfn
I remember 4 seasons in the Cleveland area Dave. 3 months of Winter, but the world has changed so much now, climate wise. I have to go through PT for 3 weeks, he will put in for an MRI if it does not work, which he suspects it won't. If the Labrum is torn it may not be microscopic If I remember my patients who had it said. Which is what I am afraid of, that pain is no breeze. The micro surg. they do say are pretty easy to recover from unless like you there is still more problems.
Well, you 2 certainly had a good little chat without any of the rest of us wild ones butting in. LOL,
Yes Dawn, I have heard of more people having that problem lately, makes you wonder if they have a new specialized doctor position to do this surgery that everyone needs. LOL My nephew had surgery about 4 months ago and I think he has 2 more months to go that they said he would have some pain. And has been having physical therapy. It's no picnic, but the arthroscopic surgery is good. I don't know what my nephew had. Surgery wise.
That storm would be just gross Dave. I cannot even imagine it. I am so glad we have a lot of different heating sources in this house. Wood furnace with electric backup, (or vice versa) wood cook stove, 2 fireplaces and an air tight that we have never used. Several years ago we lost power over Thanksgiving for 5 days. After that we went out and bought a wood cook stove. Then we bought a generator and had it wired for a transfer so it would not electrocute anyone working on the lines. Lotsa money we spent, and haven't lost power since. I think we should bill the entire county for that one. Now Bob just has to make sure he gets a lot of wood in every summer.
Oh my gosh that is what kind of luck I'd have.
My sister is supposed to have snow the next few days, I saw on weather.com but she said they don't get much snow there, so she will be upset since she said she is tired of snow from living in Susanville.
JB and Jnette actually made me laugh out load. I think they are both smoking something they have growing in the landscape. I could visualize JB on the floor, looking for her bottle. That is when I lost it and started laughing.
JB at our age, if we start eating right, stop drinking and start doing what we are suppose to do we might live another 3 months. I SAY, HAVE A DRINK. I have not had a drink in over 4 months but that is because I have not wanted one. Having a drink will probably make your test go better because you will be less stressed.
Then the gardener bit. Oh yes, I am enamored with this short, Hispanic, young man, who barely speaks English. I am a large boned girl. Welsh heritage. Doctor told me I was built like an oxen, bone wise and would live to be 150.
Actually Vern got the cold first, myself second and now the gardener.
I have not looked but I am sure you could find a young man in the yellow pages in Las Vegas and he would be what ever you wanted him to be. Probably under massage parlors.
Jnette, when lady has parenthesizes around it it means Not.
Evelyn and Lee, where are you two. We need someone sane on here.
Dawn, I feel for you. Which side is your injury. My shoulder problem is on the right side and I am right handed.. Strange thing is I can lift the SUV and carry it around the block but cannot chop vegetables. I made a chopped salad a few weeks back for a pot luck and just about did not get it finish because of the pain. But two Tylenol takes care of the pain.
We had rain today and some wind. Sounds like, maybe tomorrow night we might get down to low 30s. If we do my coleus will go bye bye.
I cannot relay any stories about snow but we did have a major freeze here about 15 years ago. It froze all the pools and destroyed the majority of the pool equipment in the valley. You could actually walk on the ice across the pool. Right after that the insurance companies came out with a notice that your homeowner's policy no longer covered frozen pool equipment.
Dave, an angel was helping the clerk. I am still waiting for them to mark down the plumeria I have my eye on. I think I will go look tomorrow. Probably missed the mark down or it is damaged. We shall see.
I cooked some short ribs and chicken thighs today. Vern loves fried chicken thighs, I cannot fry chicken. So today, I fried it for about 4 minutes on each side and then finished it in the oven. Not bad. The short ribs I cooked, after braising, in a rue based gravy with mushrooms and celery. He ate it over wild and brown rice. The boy does love his rice. I was going to make biscuits but ran out of steam. But I did get the majority of the kitchen clean. Tomorrow the laundry room and our master bath.
I have a nice ham shank and 13 bean soup mix. Later in the week I am going to make that with some cornbread.
I saw on the news this evening, Seattle had a high of 38. Now I know why I put up with the heat in Vegas.
Well the belly laugh made my day. Thanks friends. Love all of you. Sharon.
Happy Birthday tomorrow to Evelyn. Have a great day. Love to you from rainy Las Vegas. Love Sharon.
Evelyn!! Do something great to celebrate. Go buy yourself a special plant.
Sharon, you know better than that! If you see something you want real bad, you better get it NOW. It will be gone if you wait.
I think the old one, JB, went to bed. It was past her bedtime 6 hours ago. She seems to think that if she behaves herself for a couple days that it will affect her tests. Got news for her.
Well Sharon it sounds like my Not ladies came thru loud and clear.
Oh, BTW, is your son's family going skiing over Thanksgiving? That seems to be the big thing around here. For skiers. Thanksgiving is the time to go skiing. They are a strange bunch.
Well you all, think I'll watch "Murder by the Book".
Have a wonderful Birthday tomorrow Evelyn.
'nite everybody.
No, the Spokane kids are going to a neighbors for Thanksgiving. Her mother & step-father are coming up for Christmas. Then they are coming back and then she is returning on around the 20th and a group is going for 8 days. They a condo to use for free but have to pay to have it cleaned when they are leave. I guess it is a very large condo and their friends are not using it at this time this year.
Hannah will be home from Hawaii on the 19th and then the day after Christmas they leave for Park City, Utah for skiing.
I only skied once. I was at Vail and Vern & the children did fine. After two days of lessons, I got on the lift and tried to get down a normal hill. I told God on the way down, if I ever made it to the bottom, I would never do anything this dumb ever again. And I did make it to the bottom and I never tried it again.
Sharon ~ I celebrated my birthday today, thanks! We stayed in since there was more snow. We both did not sleep much as the snow loads were braking branches over our roof and made lots of noise. Also falling down on the ground, when they are large branches or from tall trees, they are not quiet. then we lost power and it did not come on until about 11:00AM. We were supposed to have lunch with Christie, (middle granddaughter), but she had to work and we had snow, so did not go anywhere. We played cards after dinner. Yes, Sharon, chopping is a "no-no"! Anything that will give short impacting pulses will hurt you if not then, it will be later. I have had to use the shovel more and the trowel less.
Dawn ~ I am SO sorry about your shoulder. I remember years ago, someone told me how much his shoulder was hurting him, and then he had rotator cuff repair. I had arthroscopic on both shoulders and rotator cuff replacement on the left shoulder. A LOT of PT afterward. Hopefully yours will only be a repair. It will be easier and not so painful. Now I just use analgesic patches and Tylenol and sometimes enteric coated aspirin. It does slows down the speed of my gardening immensely. If I try to act like it won't bother me and go "full steam ahead", I pay for it dearly each and every time, so I think I am learning my lesson. Please take care of your shoulders. If you try to overcompensate with the other one, well, you know what may happen... are you doing exercises from the PT?? Have you got your surgery scheduled?
Gosh, JB and Jeanette are the healthy ones in the group. Well, maybe for JB. Are you taking it easy JB? (Probably not...) And Jeanette, have you got all those walls washed and ready for the paint?
I guess that JB and Dave are already asleep by now. It's the West Coast Wild Ones on tonight...LOL!!
Getting there myself...g'night all...
~ Evelyn
Morning and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY EVELYN. ......SORRY I MISSED IT.
What is it with the shoulder thing? Two years ago I fell over the flower wagon handle. It had fallen down and I did not notice it, I turned around and fell on my Rt hand which messed up my right arm and rotator cup. I still do not have all the strength back but the chiropractor has been working with me on it and there is NO pain, so I can live with the rest of the crap. I too am right handed.
Weather is great today. Cold, in the 30s before the sun comes up but goes up to 50s when it does come up. I opened the door and the vents to the greenhouse today because it was already 97 in there when I went out to feed the cats. It is so difficult when the sun is so warm, to keep a steady temp in the GH. I just keep opening, closing, turning off heaters, whatever, so the cuttings will survive. The new Jasmine cuttings look very good. The Aimees do not. Something is wrong and I do not know what it is.
I am to busy with Christmas stuff just now to worry about it. I think one of these days I am going to call it quits. I get very frustrated when I loose cuttings.
Have a great day and stay well. Will check in later. JB
Thank you It has been a long time since I was called s.....a......n.....e!!! Come on now, who in their right mind would go out in this horrid weather to pick up a dog.....not just any dog....... a baby one. I am still very worried about the roads, but then think of the poor little one, in this cold. it is about -5 right now burrrr. Wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy let alone a 7 week old in a crate. They don't even put a blanky in with him, just cut up newspapers. Oh well, if we all make it through this he will be a lucky lucky baby.
later, Lee
Good mornin all:
Happy belated BD Evelyn. so sorry I missed that. not a lot going on here. I am starting to wrap xmas gifts for the little rock clan as we will be doing xmas over there this coming weekend which is the fun part with all the grand babies. The oldest ask Kim if she wanted to know what they got for here? she said no and caleb said Grand ma your no fun. and then asked what we got for him? she teased him a bit and then said a shirt. well he decided toys were more fun than clothes... lol
it looks like a grey day so I think I will crawl back in bed for an afternoon nap. Kims busy sewing up a storm making sleep wear for the little rock bunch. she does it every year and like doing it so i just try to stay out of the way. its a lot better now that we have an empty room to use for her to do that.
Have a great day everyone
Dave
Sharon, I'm with you on the skiing. When I was 15 years old I worked up at Mt. Spokane Ski lift. I sold the tickets for the tows and chair lift. I would see the ski patrol out on the hill all hours looking for lost skiers, or see them coming down the hill with someone with a broken leg strapped to a sled. Those people skied all over the world so I thought, "If they can't do it, what would make me think I could?" Never tried it.
Wow Evelyn, isn't it kind of early in the year to have that kind of snow? Must have been wet. Normally that is what makes it so heavy, when the temps aren't real cold the snow is damp and heavy. Will the snow melt at all now, or will it get so cold it is there for the duration?
JB, go sit in the GH! Do you have any snow? I would love 97 degrees for a few minutes. Problem with that is that it normally is pretty humid.
Lee, Montana is a bear as far as winter weather is concerned. I remember when we were kids we went to my Uncle's ranch in Montana for Christmas one year and got snowbound for 8 days. Had to stay and missed school, darn!! LOL, we loved it there. When we were kids.
So, you said up to 8 inches by today. How much snow do you have? What time are you leaving in the morning? Do you have a motel picked out where you can keep the dog overnight? So many of them won't allow animals. And you will be back Tuesday? Please let us know you got back and are fine. We want a picture of the dog. Mr. Purple. LOL hope that name is changed before he gets used to it. Drive careful.
That little guy will be just fine. Does he have to ride in the back of a pickup or something? Is that what you are telling us? Bet he ends up in the cab with you all. Just be sure he has a good fitting collar and a leash on.
Dave, my grandson when he was little, used to say that when his little cousin got clothes for Christmas that he had been a bad boy. That was the worst thing in the world, to get clothes for Christmas. Kinda like a lump of coal.
It was 10 degrees when I got up this morning. Looks pretty cold out there. Guess I will stay inside and watch the football game this afternoon. Going to make some tamales for my sister for Christmas. We all love them.
ttyal,
Are you kidding....... my baby in the back of a pickup? never happen, he will be on my lap inside the cab tucked in his new quilt that I finished a couple of days ago. hehehe Back of a pickup wouldn't happen even in the Spring, Summer, or Fall!!!!! :) LOL The weather thing is all on me. a few years ago we were on Snoqualmie Pass in Wa, got caught in a snow storm, slush, and flipped the car over the side, had it not been for a tiny grove of trees, we would have rolled down the side into a very cold river. I have been paranoid of driving in those conditions ever since. I just worry about it, didn't think of that when I found him in winter. Well another day and worry will be over and done. Yes, we have a motel room, I talked them into letting us stay with him, since he is so little, they agreed. Thank goodness. A camping out option just wouldn't have worked!!! :) It is supposed to not snow anymore today or tomorrow, just be colder. We have about 6 inches rite now. Besides, That is what quilts are for, keeping warm, and mine are pretty thick. Mr. Purple is a temp name until we meet him, it was the color of his collar to tell him apart from the rest of the litter. We wanted to find a German name, but rite now are considering Storm. Bet you can't guess why!!!!! Yes, we will be back on Tuesday. Hope that leaving around noon both days will help the driving, but Mark is a good driver, so am sure we will be fine. Even if we have to go 20 mph. My 2 at home babies (dogs) would really be upset if they had to be alone any longer. The neighbors will be taking care of them for us. They are the same ones I share my seedlings with each year. Time for payback :)(
Later, Lee
Well my grand children talked to me about their presents. I always give them a check. "Grandma, if you give us a check, Mom just puts it in our saving account. So now I give them some cash, the check and a stocking stuffer. I use a Nordstrom visa to purchase everything except Costco. I get Nordstrom money for purchases. I give that to the two oldest grand daughters. I am thinking of changing to a Chase Sapphire so I get cash to ME. My life style no longer needs clothes from Nordstrom.
Had a unsettling thing happen when Lynda, oldest daughter, was here from Vancouver. We had purchased a bottle of wine for her and she had drank it all. We were not paying attention and she went searching in the wine cabinet. She opened a 1976 Robert Mondevi bottle of Cabernet. Then she announces she thinks it is not very good. We asked, "What are you talking about?" OMG, we purchase that bottle of wine on our honeymoon two years after we got married on a trip to Napa Valley. That was not even the worst. The worst was she did not see what the big deal was. I though her father was going to deck her. Then they left both bathrooms and bedrooms a mess. Now that really made him unhappy. BUT, now no more guest until summer, so we are over it.
It is raining and getting colder. Now the weather says it is going to freeze either Thursday or Friday. I have about 7 more plants in pots to move into the garage. Do I dare wait for the landscape men to be in the neighborhood tomorrow and borrow them for a few minutes or move them myself today. Two Bougainvilleas, four Tropical Hibiscus, a small tree I do not remember the name at this moment. I checked the coleus this morning when I was getting the paper and they are still fine. Wind advisory for total day so I do plan not going outside.
Vern got light headed just before bed and fell down. He had two drinks but I told him that should not make him dizzy. He worked out earlier in the day but had a large dinner with loads of carbs.
Later friends. Lee, be safe. JB, have a drink tonight. Dave, wake up. Jnette, what game are you going to watch? Vern has Direct TV Sports so he can choose any game he wants. He has one screen he can watch 6 games at a time. Has another screen that shows any team in the "Red Zone". Drives me crazy.
How about Svhnitzle for a name for Mr. Purple. My Grandma, who was Spanish lived in a German populated section of a little town in PA and she picked up alot of PA Dutch, or German from the people there. I can remember her saying Schnitzle Bunk. I have no idea what it means. Schnitzle is dried apple I think. or is that schnitz and knep.Don't know. Cant spell either. There that is my helpful little tidbit for you today. Vener Schnitzle is veal with egg on top. Now I am confused. What the h else is knew? No booze does that to my brain. LOL
OMG if I woke up with the weather you guys in Mt. and WA are having, I swear I would never get out of bed. Especially in November. It snowed here last year early, but that was the year we had more snow than ever. I am not looking forward to it. I hate driving on Ice and snow. Every accident I had was on Ice. Gives me the shivers just thinking about you all going out in that. Please keep us posted. Hugs. JB
JB, now you are sounding like your old self!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you are feeling better. Surprisingly, we had already thought of schnitzle, however, I always thought vener schnitzle, had something to do with Weiners, and I don't like hot dogs :) I am full blood German on both sides, and can't remember much of the German Grandma taught me. I also thought of Himmel, which I think means Heaven, but declined that one also :) Probably should entertain the thought of Mien dum Koph. I can't spell either. Thanks for the ideas tho. Tomorrow we shall meet and then a name will just pop out. I will advise when we get back on Tuesday., Lee
Yes, I think Himmel does mean Heaven becasuse Gut en Himmel; (spelling not correct) means God in Heaven. Grandma used to say that all the time. LOL Well since you are German on both sides I will say Schmutzs to you ......I think that means Kisses. Stay safe.
Dummer Asiel.........You can guess what that means. I wish I could spell all the words I can say. LOL I am a real dummer asiel for sure....
Oh, Sharon ~ You had better keep the wine away from your daughter, Lynda. (If possible....sounds awful!) There seems to be more to that story, and we may not want to hear it. I am sorry!
The power just came on again, as it was out all night, then came on for a short time, then went out for most of the day today. If the power stays on, I can call HP. If not, I will have to wait as now my laptop's media port will not recognize the chip for the camera, and the desktop will not go online. So as of now, I cannot send you any more pictures quite yet. I have been working on other things so that has not been so important since (it seemed) that I had at least one computer working. They are both HP, and I won't buy another one.
We did not invest in an expensive generator, and the one we have is not strong enough to run the well. It will keep the freezer and refrigerator going, but that's about it.
I am going to check on generators, but it may not do me any good, we'll see. It stopped snowing for the time being. And yes, Jeanette, it was very heavy wet snow, not the light fluffy stuff.
Well, I must go now. Looking forward to puppy pictures....
JB ~ You are TOO funny!
We had 70 degree weather today. Felt good to wear shorts again.
Mr. P could be named Boudreaux or Thibadeax.....a good cajun name.
OK everyone let's help name the pup! Or we could talk about gardening in and out of the snow.
Howdy:
I am awake just not doing so well today I think its weather coming in and from what you all are saying it sounds like it.
How about the german word for storm. i will ask my BIL if he happens to know it as he was stationed over there for a good long time. he is coming up tuesday pm. to go over with us to see the grand babies oh yea and SD and hubby.
Oh thats bad form on your daughters part. everytime I stay some where I offer to get the bed sheets in the wash and change them for the next visitors. I have found a lot of the younger ones have no idea on what to do when visiting people over a a few days. IMHO
Just for giggles I thought of Shiize Koph ... but thats a no no too.... sorry could not help my self.
Well I am off to see the wizzard
have a great evening
Dave
Phidaux or spaught might be good cajun names.... we had 70's today...it was funny I looked out this am when kim asked me to run to the store and thought I might need a coat boy was I suprized a gray warm day what a fooler.
see ya in the am
Dave
Well, the power came on again, after being off again....off again, on again...
Like some relationships I had in the distant past...LOL!
I hope y'all enjoy that nice 70° weather now...it may change, ya' know.
Ok, now it is time for some soup!
...later
Ok you all, my ancestors are German but that doesn't make me so. Lee I think the name you picked, Stormy would fit this little guy well. Cute. And even when he gets big it will fit him.
Those other things they were saying don't sound very doggy like. Not very lovable.
Don't you worry about the weather. They will have the roads cleaned good. You were so worried about Mr. P. getting cold that I would not have thought you were putting him in the cab. So glad you are getting off to a good start with him. Anxious to see these pictures.
Evelyn, I think I would put the computers away until you can count on the power to stay on. You don't want to blow them out. Then you have to fight with the power company or insurance company to fix them, or pay for them.
That is what is important Evelyn, to not freeze up the well. If you keep water running at night that keeps the pipes from freezing too. We keep the water in the farthest bathroom running a little bit when it is cold so it doesn't freeze up.
JB, remember all the moaning you did this summer? Seems to me that I read you said somewhere that you were not going to complain in the winter 'cause it was sooooo hot.
Well, our weather is headed your way lady so get out the hot toddy mix. Hot buttered rum? Gee, maybe we'll all come have one with you.
Evelyn, you are so right, very long story. Over tea or brandy sometime.
If I lived in the zones you guys did, I would be drinking brandy in my coffee.
I love the name Stormy.
Dave, the daughter that did this is going to be 50 next year. Long story.
We had snow today for a few seconds. I brought the tropical hibiscus into the garage after walking the dogs. I could see it was going to get nasty. Wind is blowing big time. 10" of snow in the mountains behind us.
Photo is Todd and his family that live in Spokane. He was made Lt. Col in Army Reserve.
Later friends. Sharon.
OK you guys, the German translation for Storm is Sturm. Snow storm is Schneesturm. Severe storm is Starker Sturm. I think maybe snostorm, in German on his papers, with Storm-stormy for short. How about a contest. who names the puppy. Will send a couple of pics as soon as I can. Thanks for the interest. Couldn't think of a gardening phrase that would be appropriate for this forum since I have been pushing the button lately and not doing the garden thing like I am supposed to. Hope once this is done, you will all forgive me for going away from the subject :) Although, I think all have been polite not to bring up what propagation has to do with a puppy. In a couple of years maybe hehehe!!!!!!
Will reserve that in the back of my mind.
Wish I could find the plant bargains you all seem to find. When summer is over all that is left here are fall mums, and I kill those within a couple of weeks. There, I talked garden for a sentence. :) LoL
If not before, will see you on Tuesday afternoon. Lee
You could use Stormy when he is being good. Storm when trying to get immediate attention. Like a mother when she calls you by your first and middle name. You know immediately she is upset about something. Just my opinion. I have a headache so I am signing of the computer.
Probably the blaring TV all day long. Finally broke through my subconscious.
Lee, you are so funny. You don't count all the different things we have been talking about as "off the mark". for plants? LOl
How can we talk a lot about plants when the white stuff is coming down? I did put a thermometer out on top of my deck box that I got to store my dormant plants in and it was 10 degrees this morning. Suppose to be -15 later on in the middle of the week.
I put my dahlia tubers, begonias, etc. in it. Now, if this works, I just may get more next year. If not, I guess I lost them all. We'll see. Bob had bought a big compressed bale of cedar shavings for the dog beds. I put the rest all around the plants in there, and then I put a huge sheet of bubble wrap, about 10 feet square, big bubbles, on top of the shavings. So, we shall see.
I want Bob to cut a tree to put on the deck so I can put lights on it. 'course every year I say that and never get one. But, we have so many gorgeous little trees out there that are coming up under the power lines and I know the PUD is going to come along one of these days and cut them off. But, that's what they do so they don't grow up into the power lines
My house plants, all but my Aimee, are doing good. Don't know what to do with her. She lost all her leaves. Looks really sad.
You have my pic for the name of that little guy Lee. Stormy it is. I love it.
Happy Birthday Ev I will work tomorrow so I send it with a full heart now.
My right shoulder too Sharon. I know what you mean too. Same here.
Jeanette ~ Did you say -15°?? WOW! I thought that was Lee's weather. Boy am I confused. Yes I will shut off the computer since the power is back on. Good idea.
Sharon ~ No hot toddys for me. Hot tea, hot apple cider, or cranberry juice is OK though.
