I got a "heads-up" about another job - Accounts Payable Analyst - suggested by someone at our church. His wife got a job for my DH in 2008, so I guess it's a family-thing on both sides LOL
I'm going to give it a try!

I just sent in my resume, cover letter, and transcript of marks for the Accounts Payable Analyst position. Now, we'll see what happens.......

If it's anything up there like it is down there you'll have good interviews, seconds, even thirds, then nothing because people don't want to hire unless they can pay bare bones right now, which all of these people with experience aren't going to take bare bones because they've never had to before.

"I would like to thank all my facebook friends and Daves Garden Friend who prayed for my mom. She passed quietly in her sleep this morning at 12:30 am PST. She was in a coma since Friday and so did not suffer and she is now in a much better world."

Kris has had quite a year this year..........
I followed her exploits with her grands making the fairy garden, and then when her a/c burned! and she's had a few health issues, too...... I'll have to pop onto FB and have a wee comment for her......

no, Crissy - it's not over, cuz the position is a step higher than I last did, however I've done all of the items they need for this job, in previous jobs. I've ordered limousines for out-of-town dignitaries, created powerpoint presentations for physicians medical reports, etc etc etc - things that Executive Assistants do.......

What I'm saying Susan is Dave applied for a buyer position that pays 40- 60k a year. The asked him what his salary requirements are, he has 20+ years experience so he should make 60k a year BUT because the economy is the way it is he said 40k. They Low Balled the wage and hired someone to do that job at 25k. I'm hoping they don't do that to you.

Crissy - that's an Awful wage - from $60k as a high to low-ball $25k???????? Yikes - well Dave is certainly worth more than that.
I realize the US has a recession going on, but thankfully ours isn't as bad, and the wages are staying true-to-form. We're bouncing back a bit........ not fully though cuz people are still nervous and I'm not sure where that's taking us.

I just got a call from my youngest son, his girlfreind Heather just lost her baby! She was 11 weeks along! Dr, just said it was not meant to be! Not a good year for the babies in our family!

Thanks so much for all the thoughts, prayers and hugs! This will be the 2nd child she has lost. Her first child was a boy. she gave birth, and he lived to be about 6 months, but he was born with so many birth defect, so it was a blessing that he passed. Now I pray she can cope with this one!

LK - that is tragic...... poor girl! I hope her Dr can pinpoint why she's having these problems with babies........I can't begin to say how sorry I'm feeling, and I don't know how she's dealing with this - The closest I've come to someone losing their baby was my sister when I was only 12 (SIDS). Anything I could say to Heather & Andy would be inadequate as I can't speak from experience, but know that they're in my thoughts & prayers......
