Oh Sue, maybe Lucy loves sucking eggs!! Lol.. well, the cold must have got to the laying plans!

Crissy, I would go just for the spices and yard art!!! Go and enjoy yourself. Look at me, no friends neither here, got to depend on Kel for long distance driving. Come on now.. don't be a ghost.. do what I cannot do!! Take that trip and enjoy yourself!! I say so.. and you don't have to spend.. just on gas and food.

Susan, don't you think our sistahs are so skilled? We need to do a round robin just for simple appliques.. maybe next year?
I had purchased some applique kits, think I'll start doing them next month.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh - this was my first & last applique, m'thinks......
I have so many other things "on my plate" that I should be crafting....... yikes! I have the quilt for my DM to do for Christmas....!!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Night everyone! Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh Susan, you got to start now, Christmas is not too far away.

You heard me clear Crissy. Let me give legitimate excuses why my independence is curtailed. But not you Crissy. Enjoy yourself as long as it's not threatening your marriage, or involve something illegal.

Took some Valerian an hour ago, ready for bed.. thank God I'm getting regular sleep.

Night LK.. good night Crissy.. Susan..Sue...Judy ;)

Judy-it is really coming along-you want to come here and help my with mine next??;)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Babe....good job. I can just see those beds planted next year....I'm proud of you!

Sue did awesome making her first hypertufa projects. She said she had fun, plus she got cake and free lunch! Can't beat that! (I got cake, too!)

Well, the interview was interesting. She told me it would take 30 minutes. It took 17. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. Anyway, I wasn't feeling very good about the interview and then Betty posted the "Take off the Limits" article (on her thread). Now I feel better. She said they hope to finish up with the phone interviews by today and go over them with the higher ups to decide who they want to come in for a face to face. Sure hope it's me! She said they'd let me know one way or the other by late Friday or on Monday. So still praying and keeping my fingers crossed.

It's already 62* here....heading for a high of 70. Tomorrow is expected to be 72*. I'm lovin it.

So today is the appt. to find out about the catscan my mom had. We're going to the surgeon at 2:00. Please keep us in your prayers.

Love you all!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's almost noon, and I just woke up!!! Actually, woke up at 7 but decide to return to bed.

Sistah Judy, maybe that dmail is from the moon? Trying to tell you, sit more under it if you want some inspiration ;)
Loving what you've accomplished, am so proud of you ^_^ I'm seeing little islands of future lovely flora. And that tree stump is the new resting for the birdhouse? Maybe you could cut that hole wider and make a gnome home!!
Guess you'll be working on those stones and mulch today. Love you sistah!
Hi Anthony ... you're owning the garden now for simply helping her!

Awwww you didn't know that about the chickens, Sue. Eggs are pretty inexpensive still at the grocery store, so you won't be deprived. I know.. nothing like free range chicken eggs.
My late MIL had a chicken coop, and the egg yolks were the most golden I've ever seen. Could be the mixed corn feed?

Twyla, the last time I open Yahoo was the day you ask for prayers. I immediately ask this group of praying sistahs to pray for you and when I went back to Yahoo, I had that darn "operation aborted" again.
I only notify my change of email addy here. Didn't bother to return again and tell all in my Yahoo address book. Too afraid to open up anything Yahoo related. So, most of my past life's friends, colleagues don't even know about it.. unless they're on FB. One day, I'll just have to go to the library and access Yahoo from their computer---away from my ISP!!

Cookie, here are my hugs for you!!! Tell your mum that her shoulders will feel a little lighter as there will be so many prayers lifting some of that weight off.
Keeping my eyes and toes crossed for that call, Cookie!! I haven't read Betty's article, but me think it's better to not try to OVERTHINK yourself. You have Bill already in that department!! Lol!!
Seriously.. I know how badly you want this job.. but sistah.. ain't it wonderful that we have our Lord?

Time for me to feed the kids... bbl...

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Kel just walked in for lunch.

Sistahs, please say a prayer for his Uncle Henry, the one with liver cancer. He's given a year when he's first diagnosed, but now he only has weeks. But according to the family.. he's fast deteriorating and it seems his meeting with our Lord may be closer.
Thanks.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Praying for Uncle Henry...

Wanted to share the article that brought my chin up!

Take Off the Limits

Did you know you can actually limit your life by dwelling on the wrong things? So often, wrong thinking keeps people stuck right where they are. If you think you’ll never accomplish your dreams, then your life will follow your thoughts. If you think you don’t have the talent, the connections or the funds, then you are limiting yourself. We have to remember that God’s promises are forever settled in heaven. His Word stands true throughout all eternity!
Don’t limit what God can do in your life by focusing only on what you see in the natural realm. You have to realize that you serve a supernatural God, and just because you don’t see a way doesn’t mean that God doesn’t have a way. God can bring one opportunity across your path that will thrust you to a whole new level. He has explosive blessings in store that can blast you out of where you are and into a place of abundance. If you’ll shift your focus from this earthly realm and start looking at God’s supernatural realm, you’ll see His unlimited possibilities for your future. Take the limits off by setting your thoughts on what He can do in your life today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father in heaven, today I lift my eyes to You. You alone are the source of my strength, peace and provision. I choose to delight myself in You knowing that You will give me the desires of my heart. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Joel & Victoria Osteen

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for sharing Cookie.
My bff got saved in Joel's church, in Houston.. Lakewood I believe?
Yep, he preaches on positive thinking, much like Norman Vincent Peale, and backed them up with quotes from the bible.

This time, my new keyboard's acting up!! The new kitties must be communicating when we're asleep!!

Edited to add:
I once used to 'follow' Joel and Victoria. That was about 5 years ago. This is the lesson I learnt from him and those of his "Word of Faith" mentors.. that God doesn't want anything LESS for His children.
What I learnt too, from my own bible studies, that there will be trials (see Job) and this earth is not paved with gold for the majority, not for lacking in trying. Yet, His promises can be attained by all, when we get to those golden roads in Heaven.
It is good to hang on to the positive words by Christian preachers like Joel.
He gives us Hope in Him.

Tante-so sorry to hear about Henry.....((((HUGS)))

Auntie Giggles-I will keep my fingers crossed. I wouldn't read too much into the time on the call, but from the vibe of the call itself...all that being said I have done phone interviews I thought went well and never got a call back and ones that I thought could have gone better and gotten a call back-so you never can tell.

Jonathan had his shots today. I was a little upset about the whole ordeal and will never make an afternoon apt again. I usually make morning ones and have like no problems. This one I waited almost 45 mins to get in and was in there for 45 mins. A good portion of that I was left waiting with a nekked baby in only his diaper. My usual Dr is on a mission in Guatemala for a couple weeks, so I saw a different one and while she answered all my ??, I wasn't real happy with her. From things that I have read (and if everyone could please stop messing with me about that) a lot of what Dr's have explained away as Colic is actually reflux or GERD, especially with preemies. Dr. Collins listens to me and doesn't dismiss me or what I have read. This Dr tried to explain away his feeding issues as Colic which I didn't like and she really didn't listen to me. She did tell me his eye problems are a partially blocked tear duct and that his development is going excellent. By the time he is about 7mos he should be caught up with full term babies. He is strong, has good muscle function and is already trying to roll over if you put him on his tummy. She said she thinks his eyes will be dark, but she doesn't think they will be brown. Then I waited for 25 mins with a cranky, cold, naked baby while the nurse got the immunizations ready. One was oral and four were shots-they used my poor Bubbie as a pin cushion!! I felt so bad, couldn't watch and cried when he started screaming. They told me the immunizations aren't waht they used to be and he shouldn't have any adverse reactions. That was a relief!! The Dr also told me I have to peel back the skin on his winkie like 3 times a day to make sure the skin doesn't grow back-I am sure that is something he will NEVER want to know his mom did!!LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

LOL no, I suppose he wouldn't want to know you did that LOL
Are they going to do anything about the blocked tear duct, or does it clear up by itself?
It sounds like you have a good relationship with Dr. Collins. Too bad, for you, that he's away. Lucky Guatamala!
I always thought colic was reflux (it really hurts their wee tummies!) GERD is a new term to me that I've just started to hear in the last several months......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Stacey, so sorry you had to wait so long, and sorry, too that you're regular Dr. was away. Did you at least have a nice blankie you could throw around him while you waited? It always seems so cold in those rooms.

It was a beautiful day here today....

I unfortunately was at the surgeon's office. The results of the catscan are this. The tumor at the beginning of the large intestine is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in diameter. There are 3 with a probable 4th place on her liver. So the next step is to see an oncologist. This will be the medicine oncologist, and then from there, probably to a surgical oncologist. He said one scenario would be for them to take the mass out that's in the colon with any lymph nodes that are infected and then to put probes in the spots on the liver and either freeze them or nuke them to kill them. So we wait now to hear from the oncologist. The surgeon today said if we hadn't heard from the oncologist by Tuesday to call his office back and he'll get right on it. I just hope it's not another 2 weeks waiting for an appointment.

We're all trying to stay "up". I said to her while we were waiting...
"God's Will and he won't give us anything we can't handle"....she said she'd already been saying that, too.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending lots of prayers your way cookie!

Morning everyone! Coffee is hot, and fresh monkey bread to pick on today!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Joyce-it would give me some comfort that they at least have a plan that seems to sound even to the laymen like a good one. And the moron I am had just taken the receiving blanket out of his diaper bag and forgot to put one back in. I did have a portable changing pad that I haven't used yet, so I wrapped him in that the best I could and cuddled him to my body to share body heat. I didn't think we'd have to wait so long-usually he is undressed for like 5 mins max...

Susan-Since it is only partially blocked, she said it should correct itself by the time he is 6 mos. The Dr. is doing a medical mission in Guatemala, so I don't think it is a really good time for him;) GERD is similar to reflux, but has some added side effects like wheezing while eating and a couple others I forget.

I forgot to tell you all that he is 9lbs 3 oz and 21 1/4 inches long now!! This formula combo does seem to work better as he sleeps 3.5-5hrs between bottles. I am doing 1/2 Gentleease and 1/2 AR...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear he is doing better on the formula, and WOW, look how big he is getting!
