Sweet Interruptions ♥♥ 204 ♥♥

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Glad he's doing well, Stacey - he's a big boy!!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

9lbs 3 oz and 21 1/4 inches long!!!! Jonathan is catching up!!!
Sorry you had a rough day yesterday, Stacey. For a new Mom, you are surely showing signs of a well informed one, and all by yourself too!

((((((((((((((Cookie))))))))))))))) I'll pray that He gives you, your mum and your dad strength to handle this.
It is especially tough on you, being the only daughter, but be glad that you are living so close to your mum and able to help her. I am sure your parents are thanking the Lord for you.

Thanks for the thoughts on Uncle Henry, sistahs and niece.
The saddest thing is he has been estranged from his only child and daughter for about 15 years now. She still hasn't seen him yet, and she lives in the area.
The good thing is ... he's now able to smoke all the green stuffs he like :D (His words)

Anyway... I had written earlier that MIL was supposed to do an ultra sound on one side of her neck? The results are in today, and she has 40% blockage on each side. She's given oral medication to help with repairing blood flow.

Thanks for the coffee LK. I'm not able to go to the P.Office and it looks like it will be Monday when I'll be mailing the applique.
My red Chevy needs to be in the shop :(
The good news is.. I've completed the 'sandwich' at least!

I'm off to cut down another row of gingers.. a beautiful warm day outside.. so you all stay happy!!

Rushville, IN(Zone 5b)

good afternoon all just checking in too let you know we are doing well

Hugs and Lots of love from me

Yes...I know I must trust in the Lord...He has the only plan. I do thank Him everyday for his arms. Mom and Dad are both doing fine in spirit. So I'm trying to be a good girl and be "up", too. They have said on way more than one occasion, Jaye how glad they are that I've been able to be with them for all these visits, cause Dad can't hear 3/4 of the time and Mom sometimes has trouble comprehending. So I usually have a lot of questions to answer once we're in the car heading home.

Sis Kathy called me today and they're smack dab in the middle of their move. She sounded really good. I think they're really going to like this new place.

We're over 70 today and it's another wonderful day out. I have some dead annuals that I really need to pull and put in the compost pile, but I surely don't feel like doing it.

Hugs to you all..

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Judy, thank you so much for your update.
It's gonna be hard at times to keep your cool, being a caregiver..but know He's with you too... all the time!!

Sistah Cookie, you brought tears to my eyes. You have such a wonderful set of parents, and I hope you'd find time to create a memoir about them for the generations to come.
You know Kel and my history when it comes to parents. Mine were long gone before they could enjoy their grandkids.. as for Kel.. God's still working on their characters!! Lolol!! (Hurry then Lord!)
(((((((((((((((((((God bless you, Cookie))))))))))))))))))))))))))

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

It's a good time for any kind of soup Sue.
Each time Kel wants to make a melted cheese sandwich, he'd be scrambling for that can of tomato soup.

Well, still didn't get any ground meat, so cheeseburger soup is out of the question tonight.

Ran out of a lot of stuffs including tomato sauce and using what I have.. created Pesto Soup with Lentils.
Onions... stock.. chicken..some caraway seeds.. brown lentils and for flavoring.. 2 bottles of Barrille's Pesto Rosso.
Pesto Rosso is sundried tomato base with basil, pine nuts and romano cheese.
Don't know whether Kel will like it, but I do! He could have his Weightwatchers' frozen entree if he doesn't!!
Kel's on a diet.. but instead of just one box of that WW meal, he chows down on 2 and wonders why he's not losing any weight!!

Have a good evening sistahs!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Jaye, Kel's a big boy....I don't imagine one would give him enough fuel to keep his body moving! So I say It's OKAY! ^_^ (Not that you asked my opinion....)

Today will be our last Indian Summer day with an expected high of 72. Then in the 50s for at least a week. I got out and cleaned up dead annuals yesterday. I was just looking out the bay window this morning and see a lot of yellow or brown perennial stuff that could be cut down. I usually let most of it stay until Spring to protect the plant....I probably will this year as well.

I didn't hear anything from the job yesterday, so guess it will be Monday or Tuesday now....hope they don't just "not" call if they decide they don't want me....that would be the pits.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Cookie, I will be praying thatthey call you first thing MOnday morning!

Today is hubbies Birthday, so I won't be on much. I am going to make him a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting!

Talk to you all later!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

LK...do you by any chance have NOL brug? My cutting isn't going to make it. It's already starting to turn grayish....

I have an envelope full of liatris (gay feather) seeds for you. Just wanted to check and see if you still want them

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Wish your DH a Happy Birthday for us please, LK.
Carrot cake.. yummy.. my favorite. Think I'll have me one today :D and get that ground beef to make cheeseburger soup.

Sistah Cookie, you are right. Kel burns off more than me, and he did tried a bowl of soup last night. Said he likes it, but immediately after, he heated up a WW meal :))
We'll wait together on that call. I'm thinking, yes, you'll get it!
Hope LK can fix that NOL request.

Big game today. For anyone following college football, especially the SEC, today's the day whether Auburn will let Cam Newton (QB) play or sit him.
This young man's father OFFERED his son up to Miss. St for $$$ and when MS turned him down, supposedly Auburn on the hush, picked him up!!!! So a whole bunch of crap going on especially when Newton's team remains undefeated!
Can't believe after Regi Bush fiasco, the school never learn!!

Getting ready for a trip to town, to look for a swap present. See you all later tonight!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

'morning everyone!!
T&P with y'all!!!!!!!

Joyce - sounds like you & I are waiting for the same job time frame!!! Everyone - keep us in your T&P so we hear Really Quickly about our jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We sooooo want to work!!! (earning $$ wouldn't be bad, either!)

slept in, my DH made bacon & eggs & toast. Just having coffee - friend phoned to say he needs some of Bob's equipment for doing roofs so he's here to pick up ladders etc.
Then we're off to the bank, then to our voice lessons......... ciao and chat atcha L8TR

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

So sorry, no NOL or naughty nick here! I have had several cuttings, but they just don't take root for me! :(

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

YUUMMMM!!! Carrot cake!!! I like mine with a little crushed pineapple in the frosting. They made it like that at a place that I used to work and I LOVED it!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Good Morning! Wish I could catch up but it's freezing in this room and I'm already shivering, so I'll make this brief.

Many many prayers are going out to Uncle Henry and family.

WE did go to the flea market, aaawwwww not that great. It was at an old Wal Mart building and went about 12 rows deep, after the third row we started seeing the same things over and over again. I did find some Bodycology shower gel and bubble bath for $2.00, I used some last night and that was the best bubble bath I have ever had, what a deal! I think they sell it at Wal Mart for $7.00 or somewhere around there, man it's worth every penny, makes Body Works products look really bad. We found the old section in the back, everything small that you used to see in stores but don't anymore, candy, jerky, big bags of bakers chocolates, erasers, everything, we had a fest there, and spent $11.00 between the two of us. We saw these Egyptian sheets that were 1200 count thread for $15.00 king size, got to talking about it and chickened out, didn't get them.

Anyway, I'm cold so I'm outta here! I'll come back later.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Crissy....just let me say this about that....you get what you pay for. Bertie picked up a pair of those sheets (except she had to pay $20 for them) and they are a piece of um......doodoo.... ^_^ so you did good by chickening out!

Oh poo on the NOL....it's just not looking good at all. The Serendipity and the Adeline have the white nubs and are growing new little leaves. Nada on the NOL....well, maybe I'll just have the two of them next year then. More room for other stuff!

Cookie i think my pots are a bust. :( they both cracked really bad.
not much here
made another chocolate fruit cake . soaked the dried fruit in rum for 6 days , seems like it will work ?
kids are watching a movie
ordering Jap Maples for spring and Harry Lauder Walking sticks .
also got some TRi colored Beech
ummmm other than tha ?
sue

Tulsa, OK(Zone 7a)

Jaye , so sorry about Umcle Henry, cancer just seems to be raging. i take melatonin every night when have them and i get drowsy sometimes i sleep few hrs. but everything seems not to agree with me but it does not cause me any ill affects.. but always had problems not sleeping but few hrs a night. they had me do sleep-apena thingy and i did not go to sleep whole night so that was that.

Everyone be well blessings , prayers for all needs.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Joyce that's why we were chicken. I was going to get them as a Christmas present for my mom but you never know, sometimes they're good and sometimes they're not.

Poo Sue about the pots!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((((Twyla))))))))))))) you dear sweet lady... you're in my thoughts and prayers.
I pray for sleep for you, and the rest you so obviously need........

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

SUE! What did you do?????????? My stuff all came out okay and we used the same "recipe"! :o(

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like she got it to thin?

Morning everyone!

I am working on Christmas ornaments!

What are you doing?

Thumbnail by taters55
TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I'm working on Advent banners.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm at work not working on anything.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Well, I was standing right over her, and it didn't look too thin to me.... maybe it was the jostling on the way home in the truck.

I've been helping Bill clean the barn next door out so the kids renting that house can use it. Bunch of junk.....some to good to throw away, so now we have to find a place to store it....geesh....

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I've got my 2nd attempt at breadmaker bread going today.... hope it works out this time. I even hand-cut some orange rind cuz I couldn't find my grater......
If it doesn't work this time, then it's because my bread maker yeast has "gone south".....

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Hi sistahs.
I'm here but not here :(
Anyway.. I'll be going out of state tomorrow. As soon as I return, I'll catch up but I did manage to peek at LK's ornaments!
Wonderful!! Foldy method LK?

Love y'all!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

(((((((((((Jaye)))))))))))) have a good trip, and be safe!!!!!!!!!!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Well, I got 2 blankets totally done, had to go back to Joann's for more fabric for a couple of others. I was pretty PO'd. I got 15 cuts of fabric, mgr was cutting them, went to get snaps and velcro while she was cutting. When I got him and cut them 8 of them were short!! She didn't notice that the factory cut on them was short on the underside and measured from the top. I was so mad and because I had already cut them, I couldn't return them! UGH. When I went back to get some more fabric for the short ones yesterday, I told the gal that did my cutting, getting the mgr's name and she said to write an email which I did....

Did you all hear of this man in CT that hit and killed a boy and and now suing the parents for negligence?? He was going 80MPH in a 45, had 4 previous DUI convictions and hit and killed a 14 year old boy. The boy died of brain damage and he is now suing the parents for his "mental anguish" because the boy wasn't wearing a helmet and his claim is the lack of helmet is what caused the brain damage!! GEESH-at 80 mph, a helmet wouldn't have helped!! What is this man thinking!! He is in jail for 10 yrs and they should add another 10 on for stupidity!! It is bad enough these parents lost their child, now they have to deal with this BS....some people.....

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

An alcoholic's motto: "It's not my fault, it's everyone elses fault!" Hopefully that will go before a jury and he'll be in for a lot longer than 10 years. People are idiots.

Well I'm super busy today, my phone has been ringing off the hook so I'm gonna get to work and I'll catch y'all later!

LK, how was Todd's Birthday?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stacey, I saw that on the news! They should fire the lawyers for taking the cases!

Todd's Birthday was good. Thanks. he had a great day.

http://www.make-stuff.com/projects/quiltball.html

This is the link for the ornaments if anyone needs it! They are easy to make, but it takes a lot more fabric squares that what is listed!

Jaye, have a safe trip!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Linda - hate to say it, but the Lawyer is "only doing his job". He can't make judgments, unfortunately siiiiiiiigh

Just got our internet back up - was "down" for the entire morning, and the company wasn't aware of it - not one of the areas that they thought had problems, apparently.
Missed my early morning "fix" lol

Working on my mom's quilt - she didn't line up the squares and it's kinda "tilted" so I hope the trim job I did helped...... I don't have a large area to lay it out, so am hoping it's "as well as can be".......

Got to put a chicken in the slow cooker for tonight - takes 4 hours & it's 1pm already......

Didn't get a call re: job, yet.

hi gang
Jaye sending big (()) and prayers for a safe trip
Cookie i m sure it was the ride home that did it . :(
Stacey wow that is crazy on the man. Those poor parents . To loose a son then that idiot sueing them ? well i m not surprised really i m not . The rate of what some people brain capasity is , i dare not say what i really want to say LOL
not much going on here
almost kids conferance again. with their teacher.

going to meet up with one tomorow and hope i get a good deal on some plants.
Tallulah sorry about no word on job yet. Hang in there. i know its easy for me to say that . I m sending T&P for your job search.
sue

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Sue.

Yeah, poor parents - what an IDIOT that guy suing them is!!!!!! Y'know, the lawyer Could refuse the case, but most don't.........
what an awful thing for the parents to have to deal with though.......

Jaye asked me to help out on this thread, as she's busy travelling, so I guess I'm IT ^_^ LOL
I did something I regret re: making the backing for my DM's Christmas present - Quilt.... DUH - I'd sewn some backing material together, then realized it was too short. Found more of the same fabric, sewed larger pieces together, then meant to rip out the wrong pieces and use them as borders (same material). Well, wouldn't you know it - I picked up the correct piece and had it all but ripped out (except for 8"), blushing and now I've got to re-sew it and rip out the other piece...... siiiiiigh. Talk about a "make work" project

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

That's right LK, they don't get paid if they don't take cases.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Susan, that sounds like what I would do!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

well Crissy - you can come here and help me do it LOL

Glenview, IL

Hi and Good night!

Safe travels to Jaye and Kel...

Susan, how cool, glad your here your "on call"!
Well bummer 'bout the job...Be nice if they call you Very soon!~

Waiving hi to Everyone.
Arm Wraps and thoughts and prayers for everyone.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thanks Judy.

Well, got the "ripping" done and re-sewn...... and got all 4 sides bordered on the quilt, so I'm feeling quite productive. My DH went to Wally World and got me 2 spools of thread for the quilting (navy blue, to match the back, cuz the front will be kinda "wonky" LOL)
Anyway, I have to measure the bed to see if I'm close to large enough, or if I need to put more bordering on it.......
The navy border sets the pale blue off quite nicely, if I do say so myself!
Now to also see if I can add a white border IF it's not big enough yet.......

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Ya know what the funny thing (well not really funny) is about that case?? The STATE is footing his legal fees (or actually the taxpayers in CT)-since he is in prison, it is a state funded process on his side. He is suing for $15,000...
