Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!Just Gab'n

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello All !

Dianne ! HAHAHA ! Nope ... No banana's lurking around today... Thank Goodness ! It made my day that you read your Hubs the Banana Story... "Kick in the pants and Hug all at once"... That's a great quote... I will try to remember...

OMG Betty ! Now that's some power shopping ! I knew you were headed to some special shops.... but see some Kohl and Bed Bath & Beyond bags... We have those here as well... Plus Hobby Lobby AND Cracker Barrel... ("Just Sayin'") LOL! hint hint. Those gals you were with sound pretty fiesty... hiding your stuff & all...

Judy - Thanks for the Banana Recipe ! You might need to get that new bottle of Oxy... I'm sure wrestling is just as bad as football.. just not grass stains... LOL Wow - You've just given me an idea for DS... need to go write it down...

LK - something tells me when Dad goes back to Washington he complains that he's not in Texas... :)

Crissy - Thank Goodness that Hubby decided you needed a repairman ! LOL... wish mine would...

Bev - Take Care of yourself ! Wish I had your picture taking abilities... I took "Hibiscus picture one" of the upcoming Backyard Hibiscus Festival... and it's such a BAD photo....

I'll brb... (((HUGS))) Hopefully Betty & Bev getting some rest....

Our "Bessie" was doing some limping when I saw her Friday morning, so I know she was run ragged! She was in pain and tried to hide it so well, but could really see it in her face when she stopped and "changed directions" in the store.

Can't believe you didn't find anything at the craft fair! Amazing. BUT, I have done the same thing...so consider it that sometimes really has to grab the eye. Jeanna (oldest dd) said she thinks there is one more show Yultide in the Country or such in December?? It is not as big as this one was....smaller perhaps like the spring show. BUT I have to research this.

Although technically I am fine, feel worn down. The person DH & I met with on Thursday put me in such a mood and frame of mind, I am having trouble brushing it off and getting past that meeting. It really has put me in the dumps.

Tomorrow morning, Up to Rochester back to the dentist with DD for more tooth repair, then out to the college to fix some issues, then back in time to get her to classes for the afternoon! I will be running! AND, Tuesday morning, back to Rochester for Dermo appt. for Shane....then need to go to Sears and get his Senior pictures done, which are already late to the school. I really need to hit the lottery! lol

I think I am heading to bed soon.

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

oOOh... Deb... wondering what else could get you down so... but I "won't ask"...

DS needs his wisdom teeth out too.. but I can't even get him to get to the dentist...

I'm gonna pray real hard that you get a BREAK... ((HUGS))

I suppose I will post a few pics... Here's the "First" of the upcoming Hibiscus Blooms... may be a few days before the next... this is a horrible pic...

BEV - need you to come take pics for me...

ok Mary - what were you "drinking" when you took this picture LOL
I find, if I leave the flash on, that the picture is much clearer......

Lyndonville, NY

OHHH You mean she wasn't supposed to put the camera through the bottom of the glass to get that picture? Looks like vodka to me its shooting through. LOL Sorry Mary....Susan started it.

Baton Rouge, LA

Hey Susan ! No drinking... No wacky weed... JUST A BAD BAD Photographer !

AND my eyesight has gone Downhill the last few years... so can't tell when I'm taking the pic......

I'll try to get a better one tomorrow... but my camera is supposed to be so high-tec... I shouldn't even have to be there when the picture is taken...... LOL

Baton Rouge, LA

OH - There you are Deb ! LOL

Nope - no vodka... maybe a little white wine... but NOT when taking the pic...

LOL !

Here's proof... (JUST found this on my Facebook) that Banana's and Pizza can STILL Be friends !

OH Mary, that is SOOOO cute. So proud of that boy to keep smiling and he has such "appeal" OK, bad...my bad.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmmm no putting That banana through the blender LOL He's much too cute!

So, no wine or vodka, eh? well then, you'd best look after those eyes of yours!! I find that first thing in the morning, when I haven't been reading anything, that my vision is really 'fuzzy' and then it clears up. Kinda like my eyes haven't woken up yet LOL

Lexington Park, MD

Hope you are going to get some rest today Betty.Sometimes you have to go to work to get a rest.
What's everybody up to today? We are making up a couple of patches of ham loaf to put in the freezer plus I need to make some applesauce to freeze as well.
Make sure you do something nice for yourself today.

Read qiocl;u. again Debbie/Mary you 2 are a pair..nope didn't change my clock, got up and started to get ready, watched the news and realized I could have been sleeping for yet another hour, back to bed I went..

Not walking too good this morning, maybe a day with my feet up will help...

Bev, so glad to see you post..now to get you resting, doing what the doctor says , by spring you'll be well enough for your gardening!!

Mary, get those eyes checked for floaters..

Dianne, did give Debbie a special hug for you, thinks she's still hurting from it..lol..

We'll talk this morning..
bye for now

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, did you ever try the applesauce cake that we were making last year???? talk about yummy, more moist after freezing..let me know if you want the recipe

Off to work I go

Lexington Park, MD

I would like the recipe for the applesauce cake sounds good. Put your legs up and rest today. It really sounds like you had a blast shopping and visisting with friends. And Thank you for all the hard work you put into the project for us.

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I would love that recipe, I lost it....the recipe that is. OK, I lost my mind...but would like to at least find the applesauce cake recipe.

Dianne, Betty did give me an extra hard squeeze from you...the doctor says I will be find after the shoulder heals and I can remove the sling! haha I loved every minute of it.

Well, my well planned day is in the trash already. DD aka The child ...has a sore throat and sore ears. Dentist cancelled and she is back in bed. Something tells me...deep inside...she will be fine when she wakes up later, and want to go get her check and to classes.

DH goes to the eye doctor this morning....appt. at 8:30, so waiting to hear on that. Praying it is getting better...and not a 3rd surgery int he works.

I haven't had coffee.....I have to go or a certain cat is going to be in major trouble for nursing on the dog.

Be back.....have a great day
Debbie

Betty I would love to have the recipe for the Applesauce Cake - especially since DH brought home MORE apples last week.
I did hear Betty via the Artisan underground that the Markham show is very manufactured with booth after booth of imported items from far distant countries.Do you remember about maybe 35 years ago that particular show almost folded because they had not juried at all? Of course it didn't help that Deborah and her DH were divorcing but they had let the show quality slide.I wonder if they still do Misetloe(sp?) Magic at Edwards Gardens? It is a very nice show or at least it was. Unfortunately with the new owners OOAK is going the same route.
Cuisenart is calling my name - have to make bread crumbs before we make Ham Loaf form a Madame Benoit recipe - VERY good!

I'd love the applesauce cake recipe too if I could please?

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'll post it tonight when I get home for you all, lordy it's the best I've ever tasted.

Dianne, it's been 2 years since I've done Markham, was about 1/2 and 1/2 at that time..there were two artisans that did primitive pieces, for me and the non-painters the projects have to be primitive, even the oil painters from time to time want to do something that is easy..it's open Friday night and I'm off at 3:00pm so will go from here or the best would be to go to GANZ early Sat. morning then to Markham show afterwards..yep, you just talked me into the Saturday outing.

Debbie you are too funny, I did squeeze you hard though when I gave you Dianne's hug..here's hoping Paul comes home with good news from the Doctor, you just HAVE to be coming to the good side of the bad news..

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

YEAH-Betty's home!!!

Maggie-thanks-I didn't know about the Ycut nipples and thought I just needed to go up a stage to get a bigger hole. I started doing 1 tsp in each 3 oz bottle of rice cereal. I like to start low and increase in necessary. He will take 4 oz occasionally, but most of the time does 100ml. He was trying to do 140-160ml B4 the cereal, but his little tummy doesn't hold that much, so pretty much everything over 4ozs was coming back up.....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Going to follow the breadcrumbs Stacey..YOU ARE MUCH TOO HARD on yourself..you are a great mom!

Too funny, I go from last week not stopping from morning till night, past weekend 'shop till you drop' to now sitting here trying to figure out how to put in time..from one extreme to another..

Judy, you are usually around, what are you up to today..

How about the rest of you who live in the southern parts of USA, bet you are out in the gardens?

Betty, he is scheduled for laser surgery...get this Jan. 11, 2011 at 11:00. What the heck! Cornea looks a tad better, still needs lubricating drops as it is "fragile" and doesn't want it to flare again. Laser surgery will remove "cell build up behind new lense."

GRRRRR!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Saying OMG as I shake my head Debbie, that's a bunch of 11's if you ask me..looks as though they are taking all precautions where necessary, not leaving things to chance.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

o goodness - hadn't realized all the 11's!!! It would be funny, if it weren't frustrating that they're making him wait so long.......

Lyndonville, NY

He chose to wait that long because of the New Year and insurance changes. We used up the benefits alotment for this year already, and if we don't wait...it all comes out of pocket. They wanted to do it the 23rd of Nov.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

ouch on the "out of pocket" thing..... I had the same thing re: my dental charges. I waiting until they renewed at the beginning of the year. It would have been $1500 out of pocket if I didn't.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, any news of the position you interviewed for???

Victoria Harbour, ON

Any news Debbie on the work front?

Terrible that people must do that in order to pay for health care services..must be a better system somewhere..

Keep checking here for chatting, almost banged my head on my desk falling asleep..yikes, won't be a late night tonight

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I know that 2 of my 3 references were called on Wednesday and gave glowing reports. I haven't been able to contact the 3rd one, but then he's amazingly busy (took on additional duties....). I emailed the interviewers and asked them when they will be making a decision. I'm not sure if the reference check company let them know the results of their check. I'm not worried about it, just anxious to get to work and earning again!! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Let's hope by days end you'll know

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Hi Betty... ^_^ Not very chatty lately...sorry..

I was wondering if you still have the site you sent me where you got your cute outfits. I had saved it to my favorites, but then my computer crashed and I lost all those...sigh...could I get it again??? Pretty please?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie my dad had to have that done after he fell and tore his retina, it helped him tremendously. Dave has a shattered lense, wonder if there's anything they can do about it yet, about 5 years ago they couldn't fix it.

Betty so glad you're back home safely, Woo what a trip that must have been. Why is your leg hurting again??

Dave posted on Facebook that we have a "HVAC dude" coming this afternoon to look at the central heat and hopefully get that buzzzz out of my attic! The sucker better be under warranty too, it's only 3 1/2 years old.

Well I owe I owe so working again I go! LOL

OMG so I've been working on this short post for over 2 hours!! WOW!!!! I'm moving myself...
