TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

well fine then - I WON'T call!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! I just called the number, and the phone is ringing off the hook! So many calls.
Betty, I sure hope you get the number fixed!

Warner Robins, GA(Zone 8b)

I called and she was on another line with someone else. What a sweet soft voice Betty has.

Victoria Harbour, ON

LOL thanks girls for trying the number..gee wish I knew if we'd get billed or the USA company giving same as our toll free number out as their for a Hospital reunion organization would pay.. imagine that!!!

I could just gab/gab/gab..of course LindaKay and Maggie, telephones got busy just as you called, no calls all day but let me ask someone to call and telephone rings off the hook..

Bad thing is, if they are trying to get big numbers out at their reunion they won't because the caller advising them of the event has given my number..

Can you both do me a favor and d-mail me your telephone and I'll call you both to chat..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I also share a birthday with Martin Luther King Jr.

Maggie she is so sweet!!! I LOVE the second pic!

LOL Debbie, I have no idea about daily horoscopes, I'm not an Astrologist and don't cast them, but boy that would be fun!

OMG LOL Betty!!!! That's hilarious!!!

I did find something about your driving... you'll sit behind a slower car, which is fine, but I could always tell when you were getting impatient sitting there cause (you may not even know you do this) you lean on your left elbow, then your right, then your left, then your right, then you change lanes and go around the slower car.

Y'all, Betty has a lovely voice, I love listening to her talk, I could talk to her all day.

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy is right....she almost has a "southern" canadian voice. hehehe

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debbie I've had people ask me if I'm from Boston. Now I may not sound either Californian or Southern because I'm mixed now, but I really don't think I sound like I'm from Boston. I love the way Bostonians talk and would love to sound like them, but I don't.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ok, since my day is almost over I'm going to read my horoscope now, and share with y'all out of the Little Rock, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, by Holiday Mathis

"Happy Birthday: You will be exploring your options through the next 10 weeks, venturing into unknown territory and sharing fun with the loving people who surround you. You find a way around conventional obligations and become successful in an area that few would think to conquer. January features new friends. Cancer and Aries people adore you."

"Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 21) Instead of worrying about what others are doing, you'll focus on being the best you can be. You are no longer worried about who is ahead. Because of this, you have already won."

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmmmmmm my ex, and 1 of my sisters are Scorpio. The other two sisters and my brother are Sagittarius (All November!!) I was born in March, which is why "my Mom loves me best" mmmmmwahaha!!
Actually, my siblings all wanted Banana Cake for their birthdays, and my mom Hates the smell of bananas..... I wanted Chocolate Cake...... plus the fact that their birthdays were all in the month next to Christmas, so it was a financially hard month for pressies! I got spoiled LOL (plus, I'm the 'baby' of the family, so ya gotta figure I'd get spoiled anyway!!)

Lyndonville, NY

YEAHHHH I am Crissys favorite....I am "cancer" who adores her! Bwwwahahaha.

Dinner is cooked, served...and not burned! Pork roast, rice & fresh broccoli & applesauce.

Betty...BAD news! Snow which is going to stick...and rain...expected Thursday night into Friday morning. Grrrrr!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

re: accents - I've been told I don't have a Canadian accent, but more like a Scottish/British one.... well, my dad (and obviously his sisters) had english accents, and my mom's side of the family were Scottish. Her dad was from Scotland, and never lost his brogue.
My dad's sisters used to ask "Geordie, would you knock us up in the morning?" which is a quaint English term for "wake me up by knocking on my door"........ LOL my sisters used to laugh so hard when they heard that!!
I was born in Canada, however. Some have said that I have a "proper" way of speaking 'the Queen's English", so that may be part of it.........

JANICE posted on the previous thread the following:

Well, I'm home! I have been on the road since Septtember, starting with Jonathan's early birth, then a funeral in Lansing, then the trip to St. Louis to see my Dad, then back to Lansing to close up the house I can't sell, and then to St. Louis when Dad took a turn for the worse and for his death and funeral. Every time I was only home for a few days before I was gone again.
St. Louis had beautiful fall weather, temps in the 60-70's and sun all the time but I came home to temps in the 40's and frost on the lawn this morning. They are talking about flurries on Friday.
I will be glad to stay at home; just me and the dog. She has been on the road, too, staying in doggie day care while I did my traveling.
The viewing and Memorial Service for Dad were wonderful but tiring. So many people came to say good-bye. They talked about his smile and how he brought people together. He was head of the Resident Council three times, longer than anyone. He also helped to set the guidelines for the Resident Council at his retirement center which is used as a guide to centers all over the country.
While Dad liked the retirement center (lived there 30 yrs.) he did not like the health center part. He stayed there when he had to for physical therapy after various injuries, but the idea of being there permanently was an idea he fought. He decided to stay in assisted living in early Oct. and had the stroke just two weeks later which lead to his death. I think he wanted it that way!
During his Memorial Service I told the residents that I had heard Frank Sinatra singing "My Way" on their closed circuit TV. My Dad lived and died "his way"!

Janice, I'm sure his loss will be felt by many! How many of us will be able to say we did it 'our way'?? What he must have seen in his day; imagine, living in a home for 30 years..shaking my head at the thoughts..it would be his home and the residents his friends and family. Thank the Lord that he wasn't ill for a long time..

Now is time for you to rest, get your strength back..am sure your doggie won't want to leave your side...

Crissy, lol, I'll have to take note of my driving habits and see if indeed I do get antsy

Still lots to do tonight so best not linger..if I get it all done I'll be back for the late night shift

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - you had me confused for a moment re: Post #8193054, cuz I thought you were talking about yourself, until I read it a bit and realized you must have pasted one of Janice's posts......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry, went and edited the post, was sure I had said it was Janice's post on previous thread but dah, didn't..

Glad you are around to keep me on the straight and narrow Susan..

Drats, don't you hate it when you purchase wide tape and it won't pull apart for use..grrrr, I'd be finished now had the 2 rolls I bought were usable..

What to do, what to do..lol

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

hmmmmmm what to do with "too wide" tape? Do you know anyone you want to "shut up"?? LOL j/k , j/k..... I guess I'm a little "fractious" today LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Susan you sound very Canadian to me! I love the Canadian accent, it's so proper and pretty, maybe I'll pick it up, eh?

Janice I bet you are glad to be home! How tiring!! May your dad rest in peace, glad it was a wonderful service for him.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Eh??? LOL

Lyndonville, NY

I think she can't get the roll started....to use. I don't think it is "too wide". Unless I misunderstood...which would be par for me actually. BUT...I didn't burn dinner tonight, what do you want?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Ok, I did NOT burn the pancake. I just mutilated it. Went to flip it...and it flopped. Fell into, landed on the side of the griddle..with batter falling all over the stove. I was watching the dog while cooking...and not paying attention (She has a shiney on her collar!) and made a complete mess! LOL
