funny and my nephew stationed in Afganistan just requested tunafish
What's on the menu today??
OK, Sherrie, you just took away my appetite by putting wiggle & tuna in the same sentence.....
Hee hee!
I've got fish on tomorrow's menu, tonight is Roast pork shoulder, w/ yellow rice, small salad on the side.
breaded veal cutlets, mashed potatoes with sauted onions and corn. I know the corn and potatoes are both starchy but hubby cooked!
DH is cooking chicken, don't know what else is going with it yet. I just got home from the barn.
Dont know what thread we were on - I took a friend that is on Unemployment to the food kitchen and he was picking up for him and his friend (that is in the hospital). He came out with 2 frozen turkeys, fresh russett potato's, crackers and other canned stuff etc. So evidentley they give unprepared foods to the needy up here.
Well that's a nice thing to do.

If you google Angel Food Ministries
you maybe can see if the agency serves your area. It does cost money but one person will get a months worth of food for a fraction of the cost. These items are first quality -same that gets sent to the foodstores. No forms to fill. You just order ahead and go get. Fresh fruit, meats, dairy etc. You can get a gluten free meal or a diabetic meal too. Pre made dinners or just single items if you want to cook yourself. Maybe this can help your friend. Down side for some is that you have to get the food box yourself - no delivery like meals on wheels.
Son has had a hankering for Chinese food ever since having that outstanding food in DC, now we have to travel 45mins north of here to get any decent Chinese food
I traveled 1½ hours to eat a pizza in Fla that was similar to NY's. In the end it wasn't worth it, Fla's water is 'dishwater' and you can't cook without water so..
- Fried fish w/ fries for me & Conch bouillabaisse with half an Italian sandwich on a tomato wrap for DW.
( funny, she wont eat fish but she'll eat a conch bouillabaisse,.. oh well, in any case she loved it! lol!!)
Yeah, they can call it NY style pizza as much as they want , but def does not make it so. The # of times we've been down there have NEVER had good pizza.
Went about 40 minutes northeast of here to get some decent Chinese
edited to fix a sentence

Water -- shell fish ain't fish !! Just ask my daughter!
If you need a boat to catch it it's a fish! (lol!)
Baked taters, baked ham w/honey glaze, fresh squash from the garden, pea's with pearl onions, homade bread and pumpkin pie for dessert. (couldn't wait)
We had a similar meal at our church dinner last night....ham, mixed baked beans, coleslaw, mixed veggies, applesauce, & cake....would rather have had the pumpkin pie! I was in charge of today's luncheon....made chicken noodle soup & bacon corn chowder, egg salad, chicken salad, & ham & cheese sandwiches, plus brownies or cake.....I was on my feet for 6 hours, & I'm just dead! However, since my DIL is in Maine, my son is coming with the 3 little ones in a few minutes.....good thing there was leftover coleslaw & beans...brought them home & am grilling hot dogs. I agree about FL pizza....pretty disgusting!
egg salad sandwiches(on bagel)
Ate the hockey game with my son. They had sausage in tomato sauce with onions and pasta with zucchini and asparagus. Pretty good.
Can't believe you ate the whole game!
Hee hee! Pepto Bismol time!
Healthy food for a hockey venue! Leftover chicken soup for today....
Sunday pot roast, taters carrots and peas.
Sounds delish!
I think soup is on my menu today as well
Mmmm pot roast sounds good! lol!
Rib-eye steaks tonight (med-rare), baked potato, corn on the cob
dessert= cornbread muffin
Rib eye here too!
nice... I was looking at the steaks when I went shopping.. realized how bad we are going to eat this week... and walked away
Grilled steaks and baked Jersey white yams...oh they are soooo good!
Cooking marathon
crock pot chuck roast with pototoes and carrots(and a wee bit of wine)
and Broccoli and Pasta (son's request)
and Pasta fagioli (brothers request)
We ate the broccoli and pasta (it will be better fried tomorrow) and the crock pot stew is cooling on the deck
and the pasta fagioli is in the fridge.
Now no cooking for a few days!
pot roast tonight. I threw it in the crockpot.
Oh, I do love pot roast! But today it was meatloaf, mashed taters, & butternut squash courtesy of the neighborhood restaurant....have enough leftover for tomorrow, too.
had pot roast over the week end - probably chicken tonight
scalloped potatoes and ham
