Hay, Dee, got yer box. it has been delivered and is in good shape. thanks for letting me try those "new to me" things.
Elizabeth, I still haven't done much to get ready, I will go on a "no sleep, all clean and work" binge this weekend starting Friday night. Poor Dh is dreading that. College girl called and she found a pie she wants to make it is calling for pears and plums. hmmm..
she gave her dad the ingredients on the phone so he can get them this weekend. I go to get her tuesday nite after work. Sis is coming in wenesday afternoon, and I have to work from 7 am to noon on wenesday. When I told Joe that I was going to clean the microwave and the microwave cart ( it is huge) he said to wait until the night before. I am like, HUH?
I will have too look at the tag for this
Debra
I do the same thing with my cleaning, I wait till I have no choice, then I have too get it done, I will be working on everything tommorrow & tommorrow night, so it will be done, I have some sorting out in my attic, I usually keep my crown of thorns up there, they like the light from the windows, they bloom all winter, as long as I keep them watered, it's cooler up there but they don't seem to mind, I do hope you get too spend time with you sis
Elizabeth
Debra... beautiful flower there... I've tried to get that gong from seed... the first year gigantic vines and no flowers at frost time.. so I brought it in and it disappeared .. last year I tried to get more seed from this botanist [ Jacques ] who writes articles and stores here from his Reunion Island digs.. but the sprouts dissapeared as soon as they hit the garden... thanks for the link to getting more.. I'm not giving up till I get it to bloom... I'd have lost it to hail if I did have it going this year anyway..
yes ..having them disappear speaks as much to my disorganzation.. as to being way over my limit space/volume wise.. I'm working on the organization 1/2 of the problem... and ignoreing the volume part and getting more ha ha ha..
great flowers there
Thanks, Karen and Gordon. Just when I think I am about to give up on someting, it decides to do something. Isn't Gardening Fun? HA! I have been working thru the tubs and pots of hap hazard plants that have been "saved" by me from ole man winter, they are still alive, but the tops are dring fast. I will work on them this weekend, when I take breaks from cleaning. That will be my pleasure this weekend, as I hate cleaning. LOL If I could be organanized and follow the plans I lay out, I would have much more time for something. I don't know what, but it would be something. Good News is, I live pretty much like I am not going to have a tomorrow, and somewhere, there is a list that tells everyone, what what is. LOL in Other Words, I have become pretty selfish with my time these days.
I sure hope you don't get exhausted from these Holidays. We need you to be Healthy, Happy and Here.

I just Love that Girl, she is one of the light's of my life, I just can't believe that next August she will be 18 yrs old, she is such a good Girl, she makes me proud
Elizabeth
That is wonderful and Amazing Elizabeth. So happy for you to have a great GD to help.
Charleen
Charlene,
Is your greenhouse net? I was trying to tell by the picture. I looked at one at Lowe's, but it looked like a spring/summer/fall greenhouse. No insulation in it.
You are in a warmer zone than I am. I'm afraid our Oklahoma winters would go right through it, even with a heater. I might be able to start plants in there in the early spring before I can set them out, but would have to have a heater in there too.
Harbor Freight has a nice one that is a hard plastic. You might want to check onit. Harbor Freight has some nice things at reasonable prices.
Thanks!
If you double wrap these it will help keep the heat in. I have hoophouses and I take 1/4 in. treated plywood and rip strips 1&1/2 in. wide, these I screw to the inside of the metal poles. Then I get greenhouse plastic and staple to the wood strips. This gives me a 1&1/2 air space between the two plastic covers and cuts the heating cost way down and allows me to keep the temps up where the Brugs continue to grow.
Good suggestion Ken. Thanks!
O.K. back too my normal things, I had the best Thanksgiving ever, then today I did the Black Friday shopping, I am so glad I waited since the Summer, there was this Bedset, that I just had too have, it was $250.00 today I got it for a $100.00 off, it's the prettest Bedset I have ever seen, I have wallpaper that it will Blend with just perfect, normally I would never spend that much, but I just had too have it, I also got some good deals on toys, coffee pot, & a hand mixer, the one I had quit working
I just hope everyone else enjoyed their Thanksgiving as much, now too take photo's of the Blooming Brug in my basement, I will do that in awhile
Elizabeth

I am so glad you both like your bracelets. I love to make them for my friends.
The Winged begonia (large one) is sproutng a new leaf. The other one looks perky, just sitting there, Retta. I love it.
Charleen
Homemade gifts are the best. the loving thoughts that go in them can always be remembered.
When I lost many things in a house fire I found that the little things that no one but me would have cared about were the most missed.
I had a beautiful wall hanging that my Mother had done (crewel I think) of a mother elephant with her trunk lovingly hanging down and around her little baby. She had traced it from a children's book. I collect Elephants with their trunks up. the baby elephant's trunk was reaching up to mom.
I still miss and vividly remember that, now nearly 12 years after that fire.
Sheri
I know what you mean Sheri. It's been 27 years December 18 when I lost my house to a fire. One of the things I still miss is a picture of my dad, who died when I was 6, in his Army uniform from WWII. And a cedar hope chest I had made in high school.
Crit- My house fire was also on Dec 18! 1 week bef0re Christmas............(sounds of- du-duu-duh-du)
I am so sorry about your loss. I also lost my real father young. we seem to have more than the love of Brugs in common...(knocks on wood)
You are a beginner Brugger also right? My kitchen is full of potted stumps. Such generous people here and mine nearly all produced nice roots and/or has a thick covering of white nubbies. I am so excited. I just hope they continue to do well over the winter. I don't heat my house much above 68* and down to 55* at night. Plan on investing in a plant shelf (I have seen many heavy wire ones on these threads that seem to be good for both hanging plants and lights). Lights are another think I think I should invest in. Everything depends on what my $ situation is week to week
I took some pics of the roots and nubbies of a few plants and now cant find the camera. (night Gremlins me thinks)

That is ironic Sheri. Yes, this is my first year for brugs. I've gotten a nice assortment of brugs rooted so far, but after seeing how many there are, I still want MORE! :-)) I keep the house about 68 during the day, but don't go below 64 at night. The room they are in has windows on the West and North side, and can get cool in there. I have French doors going out there from my living room and bedroom that I keep open. I'm having a hard time finding places to put everything I am rooting and potting. Have to keep hubby happy by giving him enough room to walk around the pool table to play.
I just love sleeping in a very cool room on my feather bed under down comforters. feels like sleeping in a cloud everything is so soft and warm & cozy.
Yawning....
g'nite all it's off to bed for me.
Sheri
Good morning everyone, for this past week, I have been dog sitting, while my neighbor's were out of town, she's a beautiful Basset hound, she's very well trained
I just go over let her out, feed her then she walks back in for me, they'll be back today, I have such good neighbor's I am so Thankful for that, we look out for each other
now this evening, I will be getting a Box of cutting too go out tommorrow, I hope the weather is relly nice tommorrow, they should be O.K. they don't have far too go
they should get there Tuesday
Sherri & Retta, that must have been terrible for you both, that is Strange that both your house's burned on the same date, you sure do have a lot in common, well
you both came too the right place, since you're Both new too Brugs
Elizabeth
Elizabeth ........ it was me, not Retta. Yes, it was terrible. Would not wish that on my WORST enemy!!!!!!! But, it is neat that Sheri and I have so much in common. :-)) The other thing we have in common is all of the GREAT FRIENDS here in DG!!!!!
Patti
yes.. that's optimum potting condtion there... you should have them growing out in a grand fashon now.. good work... good luck now...
cheers! well done Sheri : )
