Elizabeth, that PXR could turn dark I bet, does it smell good too? It has a nice wide bell with pretty tendrils. I like that.

I have never seen a clivia before. Did it bloom all the way?

Oh dear it is snowing there? It is cold and windy with no moisture at all yet. Elizabeth, the cuttings you sent me are leafing. I was afraid at first. The ones Dee sent are too. Hooray!

Charlene, I would be in your greenhouse all day long if I could be.. I bet it is heaven in there.

Hamilton, OH

Debra
it has been snowing all morning, the worst is yet too come, temps not getting above 28 degrees for the next few days, I guess we're in the deep freeze, this usually doesn't happen until January, I am so glad your clipping are doing so well, I sent out my last Box last Monday, the timing really worked out so well
it's always good when our clippings do well, the rooted Brug I got from you has a bunch of leaves on it, finally I can leave some in my kitchen window
I hope Dee is doing great, I am sure I can speak for everyone, Dee we miss you

Elizabeth

Brownstown, IN

Thank you Elizabeth,
Yes, it is cold and snowing here too, looks like we have about four inches and it`s still coming down, were under a
winter advisory untill seven tonight.
On a brighter note I have a beauty blooming in the plant room that I started from seed two years ago it is a cross of
Rubirosa X America, Hyb. Fred, it is a double and from the looks of it right now it`s going to be yellow!
I just got a new laptop and I dont have everything loaded on it yet or I would post a picture, I will take a pic tho and
put it on later.
Keep warm!

Karen

Hamilton, OH

Karen
Congratulations on your seedling cross, I have one that was crossed with America also, yours starting out yellow is a great sign, I am so glad you got your laptop
I think you'll be amazed at how well they work, that was my first computer in 2007, was a laptop, until this year when I got this desktop, I had too buy an adapter since this one isn't set up for wireless, my DD got me a wireless mouse for Christmas last year it works great, when you have the time I would love too see your photo's of your cross, I am staying warm, I hope you are also, maybe this means we'll have an early Spring, hope, hope, hope

Retta, looking good there Girl, looks like you're doing a great job, a couple years ago, I had one Brug grow form a 3in. pot to 8ft in one season, you're on your way too
having some Brugs, that will Bloom for you by Summer, I Love Plumeria's I have 5 but only 1 Bloomed all Summer for me, yours looks healthy

Debra, Congratulations on your seedpod, my Plumeria's lost all their leaves also, I think they're going dormant when they do that, I am no expert that's just what I have heard

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Retta, you are going to LOVE Cherub. Mine grew from Bare roots to a 7 ft tall four branched bush in one season. My best brugs either grew from small sticks or from root balls. If you want more you let me know.
This cutting has roots now, so I potted it up last night. It has two buds and I hope they wait until christmas to open. I have never really been this successful with Hibiscus, but I have a new method this year.

The other small cuttings I had in the small containers upstairs all had good root systems, so I potted them up this am already. They were smaller than pencils, and now they have leaves as well as roots. The one in the vermiculite had the best root system, the moss had the second best, and the potting soil one had the least roots on it.

Debra
you're doing a good job with your cutting, I hope it does Bloom for you for Christmas, my Clivia should be open soon, so far just Buds, I picked up some pearlite
for Brug cuttings after they have nubbies on them, I also have vermiculite & peatmoss, some of the things I keep on hand, later on I will post photo's of my 2 Christmas
trees, I had 2 good helpers too decorate them

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Hamilton, OH

Debra

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I hear that.. my youngest GS turned 17 Friday. He went out on his first date that night instead of to dinner with me. Guess I won't be seeing him as much as I am used to.

I need another grandbaby.

Hamilton, OH

Debra
my youngest GS is almost 3yrs old he lives with me what a character that little Guy is he has the sweetest smile you have ever seen & has has a head full of curly hair
with big Blue eyes, i know what you mean by needing another Grand baby, that's the best thing in life are the Grands, I know you had a great time, with your GS, I do hope he keeps in touch, my oldest GS, just graduated from High School, of course I went too it in Georgia, he calls me quite a bit, i am so glad too hear from him, he

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Hello everyone! Thought I better check in, before everyone thought that I had croaked...lol I haven't been on the puter much lately because I am thoroughly discusted with this dial up.It really takes all the fun out of things.Sometimes it takes an hour to just post a pic.I would just hit post, then walk away til it was done. Then there were 4 or 5 more posts before I could get back, to see.....I was always running behind.
Anyway, enough grumping and complaining.Everyones cuttings are looking so good! And Elizabeth, I know you are excited about your clivia getting ready to bloom again. The one that you gave me is growing well, but no signs of blooms right now.It did bloom in the early fall tho.
Elizabeth, I hope you post pics soon of you and your GD's putting up your trees.Debra, you do need another grandbaby. Once they get that old, they have so much going on.Don't worry too much...soon enough, you will be getting great grandbabies....lol....I only have the one, but she is adorable.
Charleen, I made little terariums (however ya spell that), out of 2 liter soda bottles for the pitcher plant cuttings, and sat them on a heating pad.So far, so good....they are still green and healthy looking.Keep your fingers crossed.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Great! I hope they make little roots for you.
So glad to hear from you, I sure was wondering. Love plastic bottles they are great terariniums (Me neither) but they are great plant growers....
