I have quite a few Brugs sporting little leaves. Is that a good thing? do I leave the leaves on? Also many of them have white nubbies and little roots. time for transfer into the potting soil with cardboard TP rolls full of perlite in the center to hold the rooted stalks.
Oh I am soooo excited!

Oh Charleen you hit it right , Elizabeth has been a wealth of support and a great mentor as well as a fellow Brug addict, and I have so very much enjoyed the company she keeps here in this room.
Congrats on the blooms they are beautiful. Isn't it funny to see things bloom after a frost and we all worried our heads off, I looked out this am and have Heavenly blue morning glorys still opening by the door.
All the rest of the glorys are fried.

I got a box today of african violets, I had one for about a year, before I killed it playing mad scientist. ( trying to propagate is my worst side affect from this addiction)
Dee, Crit, You both have boxes on the way, please let me know how they fair..This is Betty Marshall.. I have since cut her poor tired arms off a bit, now she can rest before growing 8 more.

You girls are so right, about Elizabeth. She is a wealth of info, not only about brugs, but pretty much all plants. She has helped me so much, and seems to never tire of sharing her knowledge. Don't know what I would have done without her this past year..She's definately the "Brug Mamma", of this little group.
Beautiful blooms, Charleen.
Debra, Betty Marshall is looking great.oooh, another box of plants! I just love sending and receiving plants.I'll let you know when it gets here.Thanks.

Elizabeth, I know that you must be very excited that your daughter and grandson are coming, and I bet she will be even happier having KFC and more relaxed visiting time with you...no mess to clean up and you 2 can just relax and gab and get caught up.
It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is coming so quickly. I am making the turkey, home made noodles, veggies w cheese sauce, and old fashioned sage dressing. The daughter, whose house that we are having dinner at,is making a ham, sweet taters, etc.My middle daughter is making the pies, and my oldest, who will be traveling the furtherest, will bring drinks, napkins, etc . I can hardly wait. I love getting together with all the kids. Then, we do Christmas at our house.

I know you'll have a great time, with all your Children & the Grands, DH has his menu made out, he said he was cooking, then when he went shopping he bought 3
Big Lemons, so I have too make the pies, my oldest GD, gets a pie all too herself, I tried talking him into buying Pumpkin, but no he has too have the Lemon

Crit, it will be so worth it when you get the Box from Debra, she sends really nice clippings

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

MY DH has already bought all the stuffs we are making. I guess he thinks they won't have anything if he waited at the store. I am lucky he does all the grocery shopping.
okay I have to share this with you.. this plant is hanging in the basement closet. it is a brazilian morning glory called stictocardia brevenus and I prolly did not spell it right. It hung out front all summer and climbed all over the front of the house, big loping arms. well it never bloomed. it is two years old. So, I cut it back, and hung it in the closet downstairs, under the light . Last winter it hung in the basement by the south window, that is drafty. this year it is in a non draft and warm area. here we are..

it was fun watching the buds form. I was as excited as an expectant mother.

I have to quit all this garden stuff and start concentrating on holiday stuff. It is hard for me to break away when I go down there. It is like,After work and after our 7 pm show, I go down there, and then before I know it, it is 11 pm and DH is in bed, duke is asleep, dishes still in sink, laundry still in basket and I didn't do a thing. *sigh*

that is so pretty, I am glad it finally Bloomed for you, it's great too see Blooms, this time of year, I just noticed a Bloom forming on my Yellow Clivia, the Orange one
hasn't done anything yet, I am the same way, when I go too the basement, I just forget about the time, my family finally notices that I am not watching T.V. or doing
dishes

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Debra, that is so pretty.Love the colors.Reminds me of a beautiful sunset.
Dee

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Thanks, I really wasn't expecting such a pretty color. I thought the picture on the store front had photo shopped it. I got it as a small rooted plant from my favorite ebay guy. it cost 2.99 two and a half years ago. here is the link to his place, and I love his stuff. Problem is, I end up saving it, making cuttings, and then I share, .I didn't used to, I would just buy new stuff from him every year. now , I am very careful not to get something I already have from him. Me and my binges in the spring cost a lot of money at this guys store. LOL Let's keep our fingers crossed for seeds, I am using a paint brush. Oh, and I got my first brug from him, which got me to Daves Garden, cuz I didn't know what I had. I just liked the flower. LOL

I have been looking at clivias, but have been shy to get one.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

it won't let me post a link, he is dogwooderitternet on ebay. :P~
I hope me and my sister get to spend some time together. she is coming in from Arkansas with my niece
and I LOVE lemon pie, please make me one..

Thanks so much!!!!! Looking forward to receiving it. Yes, I know what you mean about the closest people take the longest to arrive! I mailed a payment in Tulsa to Tulsa and it took 4 days, but a letter I mailed to Kansas took 2!

Sand Springs (Tulsa), OK(Zone 7a)

brazilian morning glory

Debra ....... that is GORGEOUS!!!!! Too bad it has to be stuck in a basement closet to put on such beautiful blooms

Brownstown, IN

Thank you Debra!

Good evening everyone
Debra, Crit & Karen
I have been a busy Bee today, I have got quiet a few things done, now tommorrow, I'll really be working a lot, my DD called, she will be here tommorrow night at Midnight, so I'll wait up for her, gives me time to get a lot done
Debra, that Guy's name is Ron, he does send nice things, karen we both have gotten things from him, Debra, Clivia's aren't that hard too take care of, you just put them out in the summer, then put them in the basement for the winter, they like too be root bound, the yellow one, is the easiest one too grow, I'll look around too see if I have an extra one, I did give about 3 too people I know, the yellow of course, because it's the easy one too take care of, I just wish it had a scent, but the Bloom makes up for it

Elizabeth
