On this chilly morning with coffee in hand I thought I'd move us over..43 degrees..yikes it's chilly
But don't forget to read a bit of last night, lots of prayers needed!
Came from here..
Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!
I'm first!!!!
Betty we crossed....
LindaKay, have you ever tried the gun method with plastic ties to do the work of the pins??? I often see them and wonder if it makes the basting easier? when do you leave?
lol we did so Crissy..you are just starting out your day, anything excited going on in the office, are you all settled in?
I don't think that gun, would pin it close enough? Too much wiggle room... I leave here next week Friday morning, and will be back Sunday night! Just a quick trip!
Well I have a slew of work to get done but am I doing it? LOL NO!! I'm having cramps so I'm just vegging out until I can figure out what I want to eat so I can take some aspirin. Maybe some potatoes... mmmmmmm
Treat yourself to something uplifting Crissy like a chocolate bar..lol..wouldn't help those cramps I'm sure..bored again, everyone in this office are running around like chickens without a head, what's Betty doing, sewing ends on crochet blocks for yet another afghan she doesn't need..think tomorrow I'll bring in a scratch art piece..no mess in doing that, need to find a pattern though..
Lindakay, so many of the quilters at the little shop across the street uses them, I'll have to ask?
Well I'm drinking coffee and that's one of the worse things you can have with cramps, so what the hey. I need something filling, I have a banana??? LOL
Bev there IS no reason for abuse, mental or physical. If Dave started treating me like that I'd call the cops, life's too short to put up with that, and Dave knows it. He used to give me grief and yell, every time he would raise his voice at me I would say "nu uh uh! Don't you dare talk to ME that way. If you don't respect me then get out of my house so I can find someone who does respect me." A couple times of that comment and he quit, hasn't done it sense. Of course we still have our arguments once in a while but he doesn't EVER talk down to me anymore. I've been mentally abused and I will never go through that again, I don't care how cute and sweet they are, I'll be alone first.
BEV posted on the previous thread:
No family except a steeling nephew and girl friend of his. Scotty won't go to NH. I would have to declare that I can no longer take care of him and declare him incompetent. Scotty is a very good two faced person. Good Lord willing it will work out. BEV
Wow, Bev, what a difficult situation you are in, perhaps the alternative is finding alternate accommodations for you and your son..know how difficult it would be leaving your gardens, but you health and well being is far more precious!
Think Crissy many women think there is not better life out there for them and put up with it...you are indeed a strong lady!
Well I have been mentally and physically abused since I was about 4 yrs old. I don't think it will quit until I am gone from this earth.
Oh Bev, sure wish I was closer, you know, got a room with a door that's always open! there just has to be something that can be done, last days on earth just doesn't go, is a better life even if YOU are the one to get a room at a complex for those in need of health services!
Bev, it will quit, eventually. My mom is two faced also, it's kinda funny to watch, she'll be talking all this crap behind someone's back then suddenly they will show up and she turns around and immediately gets all happy and smiles and says they're her best friend. I don't get it, I told her one time when I was about 13 that if she doesn't like someone, so what, there are over 2 billion people on the planet.
Bev - keeping you in my thoughts......
Betty - 10 AM before you got to sleep????
Debbie - what do you hear from your DH in China?
I'd better get going - have Bible Study this am, so won't be back until afternoon.....
Take care of yourselves, everyone.
Good morning...
Oh My so much to catch up on...
I've read the posts.
Bev, I am sending YOU lots of hugs and prayers. Please do take care of yourself. I know Scotty is very ill, but my goodness he needs you.
So very sorry that he treats you so badly, just makes me cry to hear your are being so abused, and i am sorry but it is abuse.
Debbie, you are so cute, LOL, Betty sure has a way of Bringing us all to some abilities we never thought possible....LOL, Crissy "quoted" your line, ROFLOL That was the Best trip story Ive heard, still smile and mentally wave at corn rows, even giggle and wave at the ones with wide paths! Well, you hang tough, for some reason, your Paths are very windy, But, your faith will help you through...I Love the Footprints prayer.
...Did you know it was Betty that brought me back to life! That was over 5 years now!!
I Love You Betty. You are so very special to all who come in contact with you. You just keep on spreading the love, it's contagious.
Big happy smile and giant Arm Wraps to you...And the funny thing is, Yesterday i was telling Anthony, it was about then, the last true time i worked on the yard!! The first time I talked to Betty, I had just got done laying the paths you see, While we conversed I walked traced those paths throughout the conversation...Wow, I was so lost then, Today, my soul just beems with happiness, perhaps thats why I am back to the dream, I will have a garden next year, a real garden and not just a jungle of wild, little cheesy smile, maybe just a tiny wild...
Awe, thank you Betty...yep my house is small but it is so filled with love and general happiness. I'm glad you felt it when you came to visit me...LOL, even through the mess! OK...Nope not in yard, i should be, but brrrr and more brrr, it's cold out! Maybe in a bit when it warms up...in meantime, worked on some important paper and now getting ready to cut and sew a Mole! lol yep it's another Round for Mole making, this time Jakes...LOL, He decided last night to ask me to sew it! Only he wants it to be big! So I said well you have to resize it, gave him the choice of materials he may use...Hands on the hips-Project due tomorrow!! Then, I am so behind on the Row Robins, I finally at a starting point!! Will be sewing for days...But, I think I will be in good position to get most of the rows done on time. This weekend We are going to the Cottage, I told Steve, I AM bringing my sewing machine! Last time he talked me out of it, i wasn't too happy.
Anyway, LOL Susan, Yep was having dinner for Breakfast, Tuna casserole from the night before! Really it was because i needed lots of energy right away. I sifted rock until 3:30, did get to the compost pile. Then I was pure exhausted, laid down till breenie called. Picked her up and then proceeded to nap until 7 P>M>!!
OH MY Goodness, What a very said story about the lady. Thank GOD that the passerbyers heard his cries. I hope the lady gets the help she needs.
OMG Betty, So sorry to hear about Anne & Mikes house getting robbed!! Thats Horrible, i sure hope they find the robbers and Arrest them...My goodness, they sure have had a terrible couple of months here. I will keep them in prayer.
Awe, next time I talk to Liz, I will tell her you miss her. She has been insanely busy, work and home...Trying to get that house cleaned out and other things taken care of. Hands on the Hips, i don't even talk to her that often, once in a while i give her a ringle jingle, so we can talk when she gets a chance...But she is in good spirit and doing well!!
How did you make out Linda Kay? Finish the pinning? My gosh, that is huge quilt. Do you put a board down first...I have pinned the little quilt on a table and it practically does me in! Well i hope you are done with the pinning so your back can take a rest.
You must have one of those quilting machines, lol can't even imagine trying to sew one that big...
Housse, Are you going to go back and get the treadle??? It's a terrible shame they would leave it out in the elements, I bet they have no idea of it's worth! OMG, You are having a lot of rain, is it normal this time of year, yikes you may be in for a very hard winter!
OK been typing for ages!! Got to get to work!
Crissy, Hope your having a good day!! Thanks for the Readings, lots to read and absorb, lol but geesh, They are helping me to understand Me!! So fitting, makes things make a lot of sense.
OK, off to feed birdie and start SEWING>>> Keep warm,
Susan it's Sue's DH who is working in China.
LOL Betty you were up all night?!?!?! WOW!!!! LOL
LOL Your Welcome Judy. I think that if I hadn't started from the beginning it would have made no sense.
No, I must have made a big mistake, 10pm..that's late for me, girls didn't leave until 9:45pm..
It must be my day, such lovely things expressed in typed words, head swelling, and don't you forget all of you, YOU all cam to me in a time of need as well..see how the Lord works, we were all over Canada/USA and yet brought together for the benefit of each...
Your gardens will be wonderful next year Judy..going back again Judy, can you tell me what town is closest to the cottage..you know me, old habit die hard, trying to plan my trip for the re-union..I know, not till next year but it lets me dream...
Tell Liz, you just can't be too busy for dg family...come visit here and there..she always has me geared for Halloween and I get her geared for Christmas
Huronia Art/Glass studio just called me, Angie called yesterday and had a jewelery making class this sunday..I couldn't make it being such short notice and costumes to make but I can definately make the Nov. 26th class providing we don't have a blizzard...$55.00 is the clas and 2 necklace pieces..I'll pick up 2 necklaces at Kohl's when I'm there on Nov. 5th that are strong enough to hold the pieces and that will give me 2 more gifts..excited to learn, who knows, might be something I want to take up, after all, one can never have too many hobbies
Oh sorry Betty...
Cotage is in Montello, Wi...
Big town near us is Portage / Wisconsin Dells.... Look for Buffalo Lake.
You'll see Montello, We are County K Rd..Will D mail you the house #, LOL got to look it up!
No one . No one should live in their home in fear of anyone. It may be a hard choice but EVERYONE has a choice. You reach a point where you have to think about yourself. Been their done that.
Judy just love what you are doing in the back yard. Such a diffence and it feels good to get hands dirty. Did I miss what else are you going to plant? Do you get alot of sun?
Betty are those cookbooks you are painting?
Hey Judy, no quilting machine, just my little brother sewing machine! So I will be rolling the quilt, as I try to get it under the arm! Pinning all done, and I have the binding all cut, now to just get it done!
Wow, just heard on the news, that so many babies are dying in California of whooping cough! Worse case of whooping cough in 60 years!
what kind of foot do you use Linda Kay?
Just a regular foot on the floor!
Betty, you said you had butterfly bushes. Do you snip off the dead blooms, or do you let it be?
Ok What kind of attachment do you put on your brother sewing machine in order to quilt?
On my butterfly bush I just cut of dead blooms. mine is only 2 years old so not so tall yet.
Well, since I am going to do all straight stitches, I use my regular foot, but when I do stippling I have a foot that bounces up and down, and I lower the presser foot!
No baby yet, the contractions got to 7 minutes and stopped. She says she hasn't felt much of anything today. Tomorrow is her actual due date....and full moon.
Bev my love, remember all the things you told ME when I was having such bad issues with my step father. And I was putting myself in danger? Well miss, it works both ways! Talk to Scottys doctor, tell him what Scotty has been saying...and that your afraid for both of you. The Doctor will help. Remember we had to get the Sheriff to take my SF to the hospital....but it worked.
Shane is at school, so afraid of falling behind his Senior year. He is very uncomfortable also. I am heading out to pick him up shortly.
I really need a nap! lol
Debbie
IT'S SNOWING, IT'S SNOWING THE OLD MAN IS SNORING!!!!
Yes, just got back from lunch and it's snowing, not thrilled with it being so soon, won't last but it's a warning, coming it is..
The butterfly bushes I cut about 8" above the ground, each year I do so and each year it grows taller with more stalk and blooms.
I have a table top for easier movement of the machine to do ramdom stippling quilting..haven't used it in years but will do so for my christmas quilt block swap throw and the placematts I'm doing..actually the patterned ones I'm doing that is in the booklet are stipple quilted..
Yes, the cookbook will be painted with genesis heat set oils...
I just took a photo of the design here on labtec web cam but it doesn't do the project justice...will take another as I'm working on it for you..
LindaKay, when doing quilting of straight lines I often use my walking foot, moves both layers so much better..
Debbie, you tell Bev..she'd be the first to give support and lead us in the right direction, right on!!!
Go rest..hope that Shane is feeling better..will take time I'm sure
You getting snow Debbie?
Betty, your getting snow and it's 87* here. Is this earlier than normal?
No walking foot here Betty, wish I had one, but the regular foot will have to do!
Goodness now already! Yikes!

87 wow..just asked how many more days of vacation I have for this year..they tell me 5, have to keep that in mind as I watch the snow fall..we often have snow on Halloween and it stays, that's only another week away..I doubt it will stay or should I say I hope it will not stay..
Called Greg and asked him if there was gas in that new snowmachine of his..he laughed, wasn't snowing in Midland.
You must get a walking foot LindaKay, not expensive..I'll look in all my goodies and see if I have an extra one, if I do I'll ship it out..
All this talk of walking foots, regular foots, bouncy foots, I remember using my grandmothers sewing machine and the only foot I knew of was push down to go fast! LOL
LOL, I'm so laughing Crissy..you are a card!
LOL!!!!
Sorry-am a bit tired so I didn't read the entire part of th/e thread that I missed.
I did see Maggie's post and Jonathan was lbs, 8oz on 9/10, then on 10/6 he was 6lbs, 15oz, and just this last Mon 10/18 he was 7lbs, 11oz. My Dr says he should be gaining about 3/4-1oz or so a day.
We took Jonathan to the pumpkin patch today
I have all this work to do and I'm just sitting here yawning and yawning and carrying on. UG WHY am I so tired????
Stacey I have sympathy tired!!!
Thanks Debbie but there is no way. The doc has had him in the hospital twice and the nursing home twice and he throws such fits that they just give up on him and sends him home so there is no way out.
