Love those reds and oranges Karen. Also the shaggy bark. Must have been a nice drive and all those big old trees in the cemetery all aglow, lovely.
Looking forward to pics from you Victor.
Lots of bare trees here after the last couple rain and wind events. Still a lot of green on the white oaks though that help keep things looking alive for the present.
New England's Fall Colors 2010
Nice Karen, love the bark too!
Ugh - I'm not able to load pics again. At least not my own.
Oh nice Victor. Love the bright colors, specially the pic of Tonto with the sunlight shining through. Beautiful.
peaches and cream?
Wowzer, Victor! Those are some bright colors!
Nice! Love the crapes!
Thanks, all. Yes, this year the crapes are the best ever. Varieties which never had much color are spectacular.
Just shot Peaches. Had to wait for some sun, although it's in a pot so I could have moved it! I'll post the pics soon.
oh and the others look great - my crape is no where as red?
Soothing color....I also loved the crapes...haven't checked mine recently.
nice victor - mine is very full although the leaves are only yellow - will have to check again - how much sun? mine only gets partial in the morning shade for the rest of the day
Not much direct sun at all, Bill. Only late day.
I really loved your neighbor's maple. Yellow beech leaves here have now turned brown. The tulip tree behind the house is now gold--with a gold light inside the house during the morning.
Love P & C Victor!!
Nice soft colors Victor but nicely saturated, very pretty.
Jen love the sun making the golden leaves glow even more.
JM Oeno homare has great color. Took a few pics but I'll take more if the sun comes out. Looks kind of drab in this light.
Even the little Pocomoke crapes look great.
all very nice - aconitifolinm is a winner for fall foliage! same with the oregon fern i got this year
c. grace here has not changed yet nor has fothergilla
Victor your yard must glow, simply gorgeous color. The weather conditions seem to have been perfect for optimum color on everything out there. Glad you have shared them here with us too.
Thanks, Pat.
Sherrie, I know a few words in Greek since I grew up in a Greek neighborhood. At least enough to get my face slapped. ^_^
Lovely Peaches and Cream, Victor - as are all of your other shots. I know that I wanted a fothergilla after I saw Bill's. I just couldn't say it when we were there at his RU. It was Greek to me!! lol That one is on my "gotta have" list!
Jen - that's a pretty shot through your tree branches!!
I'm feeling a little bit homesick.
Fothergillas are great native shrubs! I have about five or six different varieties and about 12 plants.
5 or 6 varities - 12 plants! i only have 4 and 10 total! will have to due something about that:) just kidding - love the blue shadow have 6 of them now.
I'll want some advice on them when I return in the spring, Victor. They are a must. I wonder if they are native to NH too. I'm buying only natives down here. The one garden that I have a lot of my natives and tropicals in that got absolutely no watering from our neighbor to bridge to the rainy season, is the nicest and easiest garden we have here. no overgrowth and nothing to do to it. I'll get a shot of it at some point when I have the stamina to brave the elements and the vipers out there. The banana tree we have there REALLY grew! And we have a great-looking gumbo limbo tree that has really grown. It was just a cutting from a neighbor last year. Now it's a 6-foot tree. The other plants are stromanthes, bromeliads, brugmansias, vinca, and a few pretty things I can't recall the names of.
