Bill - what did you do today that made it such a long day? It's Saturday! Did you overdo on the yard work? The pit looks inviting!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i actually did a lot today - mowed the leaves with the old lawn mower - that was half the day - dumped the leaves (had to stop every few feet or so) in the vegy garden - burnt all the t- plants (50) in the fire pit after taking down the velco (my fil love velcro!) ties and wire (16 buddles) - and went to the dump in the morning

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

You're done!!! Got lots of candy to give out tonight????

Thomaston, CT

I tried to start the mower to get rid of some dead stuff....no go! I'll try again tomorrow....wish I had that fire pit!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

no kids come here - pitch black at night here no street lights

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Bill, what a nice ending to yesterday's day. Great pics, of course.

Nice, Jen!

I got some nice pics at the Cape Cod National Seashore while hiking the Beech Forest Trail in Provincetown, MA on Saturday with Dad and Patches. Here's a link: http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r76/patchesandpeachs/Beech%20Forest%20Trail%20Nov%206%202010/

I don't remember if I posted a link to the photos I took at Blithwold Mansion in Bristol, RI the end of last month. Here they are:

I can't believe you not only have color but leaves on the tree's too!! Nice!

Karen that Estate is lovely!

Halifax, MA(Zone 6a)

Thanks, Celeste. We still have color here, but mostly restricted to the oaks and beeches now. It looked really pretty yesterday in the rain with the color all saturated. I love the color of oaks in the fall.

Karen, those photos of your Dad & Patches are precious.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wow nice pics you guys. So many leaves down there in NJ. We have mostly brown and tan left here on the oaks and ash trees. A little green on the pines too but that's about it I'm afraid. However if there were still leaves I would have missed the first sighting of the sun in several days. I think it was worth the wait.

Pretty! We were about 1 hr south today and there were even more trees with leaves. Didn't get any pics though.

Love the sunrise!

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Very nice, love pink skies!

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I just sent this to a friend and wanted to share it.
I spent a afternoon with this sweet man, 2 years ago, who grows JM's and Tree Peonies.
I have no idea what the JM's are named but the colors and shapes in low sunlight are fabulous.
I probably misspelled Corallenium.

very very nice joann - do not think that was Corallinium - it looked like Oridono niskiki i pic of mine is below in the spring the whites get pinker during the season.

Thank you, that was a treat! I may have to reconsider having a Japanese maple (I had decided to get a sourwood instead.)

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Yes that is the grower. The corallinium has pink leaves in spring that get greener as the season goes on.
Its too cool and shady there now and I am not sure there are any leaves left.
I just looked up my pix from last year. The corallinum I named in the slide show was not my tree.
Geezer moment #3 for the day.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Beatimous JoAnn. They are all very pretty but that second pic is just wonderful.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

here is a pic of my corallium from this past spring - did not have one when it was pink

Very nice, Jo.

Rebeccaa - sourwood is a great tree. No need to second-guess. Get both! Plenty of dwarf JM's to choose from.

Just saw one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. Need to go back and take a pic. Color was incredible.

Thomaston, CT

Thanks, JoAnn....loved the dark pinky-red one!
