Most beautiful time of the year.
Today's Weather in your Garden - 80
Lucky you, Marilyn! Love apples. One of my faves is now out - macouns!
70 and beautiful here.
59°, haze
It's still 48 here, I like these kind of overnight lows. Will drop more by morning, but should stay in the low 40's at least.
Love macouns, too, but the ones at the orchard were very small....got some the other day at the orchard near my art class, & they were large, juicy, crunchy, yummy! Still have the bedroom windows open a bit....
Saturday morning, 7:30am...
The Weather Channel has released a frost advisory for this location, for early Sunday, 2am-8am.
Is this early for the season?
for me too.. earlier this year than last I think
Chilly this am but sunny. Yes a frost advisory for our area. We are usually one of those low lying areas they talk about on the weather. Usual average first frost date is around the 15th of Oct. if I remember correctly, so a little early. I will move the cherry tomatoes under the porch this evening. Present temp up to 55 now with a light NNW wind.
58°, wind WSW 6mph, clear
High of 70° predicted here today, no advisories yet down here, low of 52° expected sun night.
We also have a frost warning....time to bring in my lemon tree...still have lots of small peppers...maybe I can cover them tonight.....
60s but the wind makes it bitter. Too much correspondence to take care of to work outside.
Managed to wash a few windows....a few more left! Very nice walking today.....
54°, crisp evening here
What a gorgeous day, outside planting all day.
it hit 75° low of 43° overnight
Some parts of Maine dropped down into the 20's last night, we only made it to 35....not complaining!
Temp down to 30 here as well. As usual our area one of the coldest temps on the local SE New England weather map, I do not see a lot of frost out there though. Sun is coming up and should warm things up quickly to the low to mid 60s for a high today. Nice sunny day today and not as cold tonight.
early this morning it felt like we COULD have gotten frost... but I didn't see any... still a very chilly 37 now... going to 69 today.. I will take it!!!
Back in from filling bird feeder and we have a nice thick layer of frost on the center of the grass out back. Only place I saw it. Boy I hate to see this starting so soon. Yuck.
nothing like the sound of crunchy grass under your feet
:(
We had spots of frost too. Many of the plants in the open are spinach.
Only to about 45° last night. Cold enough, however.
55°, wind S 2.4mph, Rh 43%, clear
- Sunny, nice & cool today, expected high 65°
upper 70's and sunny today.
Our low was 42 high of 74 today
The only frost I saw was on my roof....even the basil still looks OK....high 0f 65 today.....was watching the yellow-rump & palm warblers in the yard...then an osprey flew over.....great day!
Glorious day, sunny and 70. Went for a drive with the top down. Still not peak colors yet. Tried to hike up to a waterfall, but I was wearing wedge sandals, and it was very hilly, slippery, and a ledge only 1 foot wide. It would have only been a 6 ft fall to the creek, but we turned around. I actually went barefoot for aways. Instead we stopped for awhile overlooking Canandaiua Lake.
Sounds like fun, Debi....I'll take all of these days I can get.....
that does sound like fun!
I know that scene, Debi....it is so beautiful looking down on that lake. Our friends live on one side of the lake.
We woke up to 30 degrees this morning, but what a gorgeous day. I wouldn't have wanted to miss this one! Here are a couple shots from our walk mid-morning. It got up to 60 this afternoon.
This one is the road in front of our house.....
have i seen that pond?
You've actually seen every one of these spots! And anyone who was here last September parked right along that stretch of the road in the first shot and drove right past this pond. That was pretty much before the peak of color though.
This is a shot of my friend's little cabin on the shore of the pond.
very nice lousie!!
Nice pics Louise, I thought of you at the lake!
57°, clear
- down to 52° tonight here
Not a Happy Camper this darkening time of yr. but note that many tourism buses into the Montpelier Cap. of VT. pass our in-town home from 2 routes to our closing of our Nelson Pond summer home 20 miles north of home. Both great age-old local tourist areas for the last 3 weekends of a mixed bag of not super great weather; same for the fall foliage in many places, are wedged w/giant buses, happy tourists (w/$$$) and purportedly in love with N.E. to take these tour buses at what cost I have no clue. (And riding forever w/one potty in the back. YIPES!)
But some short stops beyond words of beauty that have turned sour rather quickly after all of N.E. got nearly drowned out w/24 hrs. and mega inches of wind and rain. (All N.Englers can identify just the fav. spot as other states down the E. Coast.) And most of us have seen some same truly Mother Nature's "quickie breath-taking places of beyond beautiful this yr. like every fall!" And bad w/winter damage.
And that's another story.
