Best/Worse/What did I learn/chat about our day!

Actually did finish ALL my meds Debbie, and no please don't call or tell mom on me when you see her..lol..she just called awhile ago and said she was picking up a 'walker' on wheels for herself, Sharon will meet her 1/2 way from where the funeral is..she went on to tell me my nephew won't be coming, shaking my head here, no wonder after what she said to him!

Suzanne called me last night to ask if I could move going over to Buffalo our scheduled Nov. 4th because she has to babysit, not sure the girls can all change at this late date but I know I'm NOT..gee whiz, what is with people...Feel bad about not co-operating but I've looked forward to this all year, NOT changing my plans. I'll take her across another weekend if she wants though, am always game for that!

I LOVE Gettysburg!! Betty yes you did take me, that was a ton of fun! I loved every second I got to spend up there with you and can't wait to do it again!

Good grief Betty, everyone wants you to bend over backwards for them but they don't want to do it for you. Don't you feel bad, the fact she has to babysit is not your problem.

Ok Betty, I talked to my mom last night and here's what she had to say:

We were talking about parents who have their kids living with them from birth til the end of time and I said that I couldn't imagine having my child still living with me when they're 50! She agreed, and I said that when I moved out at 21 years old it was too late and I don't know if I could move back home because I'm so independent.
She said, "H*** NO you wouldn't move back home!! I wouldn't live with you again if I had to and I wouldn't let you move in with me either, we don't get along good enough for that. I'd admit myself into a rest home before I'd live with you!"
I about died laughing, I've been hearing that song and dance since I was probably 5 years old and I see it still hasn't changed. So I told her that me and Dave are wanting to come to her house for Thanksgiving if the weather's good to cook for her and get her away from that family she's always griping about,
She said, "Debbie is already cooking us dinner."
I said, "Debbie cooks you dinner every year and you say you don't like her but if you are put in a position to choose between her or me you always choose her???" She said that we could come to dinner if we want to, but she can't cancel her plans with Debbie and Company (this isn't the first time this has happened either in my lifetime.) Debbie and Company live 10 minutes from my mom and they see each other every day.

Debbie is Lynn's cousin, Ronnie's wife, she don't work outside of their RV storage they own, and they have just built a 5000sqft house and they don't make the money to pay for it, they're in debt over their heels, Debbie doesn't have a clue and she just flutters around giving orders and talking smack about everyone, and lies lies lies while Ronnie is busy making himself look like the richest man in Newcastle to 'show them!!' Whatever. Mom is two faced and says she doesn't like that kind of person and doesn't want to be around her, but the second Debbie shows up it's all about Debbie, Debbie's the greatest, she's better than anyone else alive, blah blah blah, and apparently Debbie has shown up. Last time my mom did this and chose Debbie over me Lynn threw a fit and told my mom what was up, she only has one child who she sees once a year and she can see Debbie anytime, any day, day or night. My mom used to do this crap when I was a kid and my dad would throw a fit at her too. In her life I do not come first, never have, never will.

I really am losing it, lost my post once again, get off on a tangent then go check photo's i.e. Stacey's baby, etc. and puff there goes my post.

So laughing Crissy, where would we be without 'mom' stress in our lives...I'm so hoping that I don't give my kids this much stress..lol am sure I do without knowing it.

I'm looking forward to seeing you all 2012 as the reunion is at my place, any of you ladies on this thread wanting to come, please save your pennies and join us..wouldn't that be the greatest..already planning and it's not for 1 1/2 yrs.

A reunion When???? I would love to come up... Crissy sounds like my mom but it was dogs that came first sad but true.....I gave up a long time ago it is not worth the stress that it causes . Oh do not get me started.

LOL!! I'm trying to plan to go to Judy's and how I can get up there with Dave or without Dave, would much rather go with, and he's saying it's way way way too early to plan that. LOL! I want to say sssoooo??

OK Whenever my mom has drama Dave has to have it to... I have a 10 year old laptop in my closet that I need to clean out but the battery's dead and it won't take a charge so it has to have a power source, runs incredibly slow, and I'm positive it has at least 2 viruses. Dave's dad called and asked if we had a laptop, of course Dave remembered that old one up in the closet and got it down, said he plugged it in and powered it up and it's asking to run the setup menu. I told him that I was playing with it and trying to get my pictures and what-not off of it but it has a virus so I quit because I don't want to infect everything else I have. He completely ignored me and he's trying to run the set up menu but doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing, I'm telling him to wait until I get home because I know how to do it, he doesn't want to wait, he wanted me to tell him how to do it right now, I'm at work for Pete's sake and it's been 3 years since I've had the thing out of the closet. I don't care if his dad takes it as I'll never use it again and it's not worth anything but it's not something that can be taken out of the closet and handed over, it needs a ton of work and I don't want him getting into my personal files and I don't want to download them onto another device if the thing has viruses. Maybe if I do this I can con Dave into letting me get a mini laptop... hhmmmmmm

Laura there's going to be a reunion at Judy's cottage/cabin/whatever she calls it LOL next August. I hope you can make it, and I hope I can make it LOL

Drats, came home to check to see if Bernie was here working on the back deck so I could give him $$$, wasn't so off I went to do groceries, ooops forgot money, had just a little less than $100.00 so bought pumpkin, turkey and a few things that I know they might run out of (small town) and came home to find Greg/Ken, Melanie and the boys working on putting the Foxy Lady to bed, sad, only went out once this year..I was making them nervous taking it off the trailer so I got sent inside..lol

Everyone bustling around here, Rose she's doing her wash and packing up, luckily someone at her work is leaving from work to go to Toronto tomorrow so she's hit paydirt, gets a ride to the city; she and her family are off to Mont Tremblanc in Quebec for the weekend.

I've decided once the kids all leave to go back (with my wallet) to the grocery store as it's open until midnight and finish getting my groceries done so that tomorrow I can come straight home and start baking pies.

Imagine, Thanksgiving already..my turkey is almost 30 lbs. and as I'm cooking it early Saturday morning I was told to get it defrosted tonight and tomorrow..

I'll share some turkey with you this weekend if you promise to share with me next month!

Hi Betty and everyone! Happy Thanksgiving Betty and Dianne, Carole, Susan, I hope your weather is wonderful and you all just Have a loving time with all who gather with you.

I have been well, busy or rather a busy body today! LOL, Phone calls done...Arrangements made for the weekend etc...Some laundry,
Gathered items to be packed...FINISHED my last 4 Blocks, oh Happy Happy dance...You want to talk about aggravation, heavy sigh, They were the THE most orniest I dun't want to work right pieces I have ever done thus far!! ROFLOL, My Skittles might say some not so nice words after hearing me grumble rant and grrr, tear out seam after seam...hahahaha, but they are done!
OK, Well, then Aaron came over with His mom! She was sitting in her car waiting for him, my gosh, so not happening. I said tell her to come in or at least come sit on deck...So she did, lol put my teeth in and made myself company presentable, came out with a glass of ice water and introduced myself. Her name is Judy "too". A very shy woman, but, don't you know, her grandsons Quilt was a wonderful icebreaker! Pretty soon she and i visited for the entire time Aaron work on my tiller, about 3 hours! Betty, I do believe she will join us for Christmas workshop, lol showed her almost every piece except Victorian Sleighs. Aaron was just adorable, showing us both, the yuk and explained how each piece had to be cleaned...typical son, lol I think he was having a ball being center of 2 mom s attention, and we dutifully pretended to care...Well I kind of did, cause you know it's my tiller, still NOT working. But I got faith in him, he'll get it running...By the Way, Little Bailey LOVED the blanket, they had to kind of force him to open the other gifts! hehehe, made my day.

Crissy and Housse, you bet I'd love for you to come to my Sistah Gathering. House, this will be my third, Oh goodness we have a ball!
Yes it will be at my Cottage in Wisconsin. 2011, cant wait and I sure am hoping Mary will be there too. Liz, will be there for sure, and Debbie..Betty will Kidnap you on the way, right. Then LOL...2012 Betty's for sure I WILL be there no matter what...LOL, will start walking right after mine.

SPECIAL NOTE: Sistah Sunshine, Joyce!!! OH MY GOSH, what a special day I had yesterday. Thank You, Thank You!! I received my special package...you can't even imagine The smiles cheek to cheek....Everyone, last Sistah gathering, Joyce gifted me with a special ring! Bummer it fell off my pinkie and was lost, Dear Sweet Bill found it on the front porch weeks later. And now it is with me once again.
...tried it on still don't fit the finger, but I decided I will wear it on a chain, until it fits proper...Although that might be tough since I've eaten about half of your yummy carmals already, little blushing hear, promptly hid the rest away, no ones getting any, lolol...I am such a "greedy pig" I will get a picture, can't wait to show my family! They hear all about each and everyone of you!

Well...I am sorry but I have to pack some more, Yikes we need a ton of Towels, if everyone shows there will be about 20 of us, lol and that is just the family..I don't know if friends are coming.

Hello To All ! Housse my Sister and BIL were there at Gettysburg last year ! They may go annually ... VERY "INTO" the Civil War Re-enactments...It's amazing to hear about them and how everything has to be so authentic... Story about my nephew who does them as well.... didn't want the boiled meat and got a hot dog and was admonished by someone 'higher up' that hot dogs didn't fit in the time period ! Dear Sis inherited Mom's Craft gene (as you all know I did not...although I do admire those with the talent) she makes their dresses...

Wow - Noah has grown ! He's doing that "Stretching out" thing when they lose their baby chunky look... DS did the same thing... Handsome young man... of course to me he looks more like Grandma Betty than the others... Love the crafting... Is Kyle a perfectionist when he makes crafts ? My DH certainly is...Mom was too...

Would LOVE to make a Sistah Get together ! Now I'm traveling by myself more... might just be easier !

I'm in my seedy hotel now... (The last reservation available...they were sold out here by the time I decided to go whether or not DH could come).... Not so bad... only one dead roach stuck to the blanket .... LOL!

What a nice adventure so far ! Left Baton Rouge around 4pm ? and arrived Hattiesburg, Mississippi around 6pm. I had dinner at the steak house we loved in College when Mom & Dad would visit me...Ate a yummy Prime Rib by myself (I brought my book to read). 10a and 3p dance practice tomorrow...

OH Mary, I am so THRILLED that you went! And very proud of you! Put on them dance shoes woman and squish the roaches! I can't wait for pictures.

I have had a morning that says "Dear Lord, go back to bed now before you do more damage!" Put my feet on the floor and stepped in cat puke...which sent me running and gagging. Came down stairs and somehow the ferrets cage was tipped upside down and on the floor! Poor thing was scared to death....and the mess to clean! Got DS to school, but he forgot stuff....so had a second trip back down, and this has all been the last hour and twenty minutes!

Crissy is spot on with those horrescopes! I am enjoying them very much. Had a few chuckles over them also!

Housse, have a great weekend also! I am heading out in the yard here shortly....I need some sunshine!

Paul came in today, that's a first in a long time, him coming in on a Friday, says he's much to do, let's hope he gets antsy and decides to leave around 1:00pm and feels badly about leaving us here on our own as it is only Lee-Ann and myself..lol..I'll look ever so sad, am sure he'll say go home at 1:00pm.

Trying to simplify what I need to get done for tomorrow, Jeff just said he'd get to the house around 1:30 and would be spending the night so I've all evening and morning to prepare the food, make pies, clean house, going to put all the table in my craft room, decorate the tables etc. and that way we all can eat together, either that or eat outside, wouldn't that be something but if we eat around 4pm it's just starting to cool down...best I stick to the downstairs idea, wouldn't want mom and Aunt Muriel catching a chill..

I KNOW,it's so easy for me to do so, now wouldn't that be something,burnt Thanksgiving Dinner, kids wouldn't be shocked though..lol

Don't know how many times I put lemon merangue pies in oven to brown the merangue and burn it, luckily I can pull it off and try again.

Here I'm gabbing about my Thanksgiving and find out it's your Columbus Day so guess you all have a long weekend ahead of you as well

We usually don't get Columbus Day off, the schools are out but pretty much everyone works, I know working for the State we're working. We DO get Veterans Day in mid-November though!

Hmmm, not good...now we don't get Nov. 11th off, only banks and gmt. offices and you have to take it on the day it falls I believe..

Betty, kids are off school, and I think no mail on Columbus day, banks are closed. But everyone else is pretty much working.

Envy your Thanksgiving, that is my favorite holiday...or used to be. We would walk into Moms house...filled with smoke! Something always burning....Yep, dinner is done! No matter how big or smal the turkey was...mom was insistant it had to cook so long. She would put it in at 5:00 a.m......for a 20 lbs bird....and we would eat at 3;00! Talk about meat falling off the bones! lol

My kids still haven't regrouped from the falling out in July....so I don't know what the holidays will hold...if they don't get their act in store here. It is all on the shoulders of the eldest, as she did this one herself.

I am going back outside. Just came in for some soup, had a craving for soup and crackers! lol

That's the way Veteran's Day is here too, schools, banks, and Government offices are off, and yes, it's on the specific date. What's good is this year it's on a Thursday and I'll have my birthday day by then so I might take Friday off too and give myself a long weekend, or I might save my birthday day for later, not sure yet.

I'll look at your links when I get back from lunch, I'm hungry and forgot my breakfast this morning!

Maybe you and Dave could plan a 4 day trip somewhere for your birthday Crissy but then it will be close to your Thanksgiving and you might go to your mom's right?

Speaking of mom's, Sharon was on the telephone while msn'ing me, said my mom was crying and upset, had just met with her doctor and guess he told her the aches and pains are what she will have to live with, it's age, she's old...telling her she's old didn't go well with her...
