Tropical Garden # 84
It's pouring Rain !!!!!!!!!!! woooo hoooooo !
WOW that is a beautiful banana! LOL ( I didn't know there was any other kind besides yellow before Daves Garden)
Goodness Paula, I love your set up!
Mjs, please send some of the rain this way..
and by the way, Paula, that pod should hang in there until brown and dry, then you open it and it will be filled with seeds. And then you can send me five of them LOL
Sons' room still has room for plants :)
Well, now, Debra, aren't you inventive!!! Love the shoe/plant holder. Actually, you could hang that outside and fill the pockets with soil and put cuttings in it and like that you could see when the roots grow. HA, I may try that. Love all the ideas at DG.!
I noticed the shoe/plant rack also. What a great idea. I could use that sort of thing for my fuchsia cuttings. Make room for more plants.lol
Hello All!
RachelLF, you are too kind!! You can just d-mail for cuttings anytime, I will be happy to share with you guys.
GAGirl1066, thanks for showing your Medinillas, they are very pretty plants. I fell in love with them on my first visit to Marie Shelbys garden in Florida. But after all these years I finally realized that it is one plant that I cannot get to grow. I have the orange plant with about 6 leaves on it, I doubt that it will survive the winter.
I am glad to see all your plants all safe in the greenhouses. I have been running around today gathering up plants that I had forgotten.
Joeswife, The underground weather report is calling for 38 tonight. I had to pull out my heaters and get them ready. I have a feeling that I have forgotten a plant somewhere.
We will have to help you fill up your son's room with plants! I cleaned out my old GH that I usually use for pots for my colecasias but so far it is almost full.
Mjsponies, I want one! That is very generous of you. If I can repay the favor, just let me know.
I hope that you got a good soaking!! I agree with Joeswife, your lochroma is the purple queen. A very healthy plant I might add.
the little rex begonia I rescued from lowes isn't looking too good. sometimes I think their plants here in this area are already diseased or something. Poor thing. *sigh* it was really tiny, so guess it just didn't have much of a chance. getting down to 29 tonight, I brought in two of the little peach salvias that just started to bloom, and five more pentas that were nice and full, just couldn't let them freeze.. set up the bubbler tubs and made some more cuttings of things, had to trim back the cestrums and the hibiscus a tad, brugs will get trimmed this weekend. I really am surprised at the cassia alata, it is growing new leaves and has another bloom. the Goji Berry cuttings took, I am pleased with that. Rita your grow areas looks so pretty, I am pleased to see everyones areas and plants here on DG.
After such a long, cold winter and a long hot summer, this bouvardia ternifolia is finally enjoying the weather. We are about to get some coolish nights, it was 53 this morning and is supposed togo down to the 40's this weekend, but then the weather should moderate again for another couple of weeks.
Oh those are so pretty, never heard of the first two.. now I have to go look them up..
gagirl, i have a blue ginger but it's not weeping. it's still very small right now. slow growing. may be it will do better next year.
