Miss B. Havin Brugmansia

Big Sandy, TX(Zone 8a)

Don't get me started counting critters. I am down one cat this week, he just did not come home. Years ago I got some barn cat for the bird farm and both had kittens and My wife, Maggi heard I had kittens for free and came over to get some. That is how we met. She took several but when we got together she gave some away and kept Hoss. He was almost 15 and that s a good life for a farm cat. He has been declining all this Summer. We are down to 5 and that will keep for now.

I had to sell my horses in 06 when it was so dry, hay was $90 a bale and now every time I see a horse in some pasture I want to cry. Guys can have their Jeeps and hot rod truck, I'll take a horse any day.

With so many cat people here:

Oh, Oh, I must share this-

wife to her husband: Honey I saw a cat that I really want to adopt.
Husband's response: No, that just wouldn't work.
wife: Why? What's wrong with getting a cat? I love cats.
Hubby: Well, back in ancient times people used to worship them.
wife: OK, so why does that matter to us now?
Hubby: Well, People may no longer worship them, But the cats have not forgotten!

Sheri LOL that was cute. Ken love horses, but just plain afraid of them. ( I got bucked off one in the middle of a parade when I was 15)
Elizabeth your cats are so CUTE! Dee, you really are making me try to remember, aren't you? ( I have a problem remembering what I send to people cuz I am just so focused on getting things packed)
Kim those pictures are awesome. I just love the flowers when they about to bloom. Milk n Honey is about to tonight, Maya is still oh so loaded, and Flamenco is in the corner here with her beautiful bloom.
Retta, I am so glad you came here, please be safe thru your weather there, I know how it feels to have your plants blown around, it isn't a good feeling. next year I am putting metal rods thru the pots to hold them down. Tonight I went down the the basement Garden at 8 pm, and came up at 11 pm. sheesh! I could stay down there all night, snipping and plucking and making cuttings and well you know, Gardening.

This weekend I am getting three peoples cuttings together, and retta, after I get everyones trades done, I will send you some rooted brugs.
Dee, I have to go look at the picture to see what plant you are talking about..

Debra and Dee,Took this ,this morning and thought of you two. Tuberose is blooming and is beautiful. I got a good pic with a green backdrop so you can count the petals ☺☺ We got a nice rain last night after severe storm warnings all day. Love it to rain at night. Charley sends nuzzles , soft and warm, to everyone of his friends. He is a mudball today. He love to roll and he doesn't care wheter it is wet or dry. And the donkeys are usally helping him out by doing it too. That how I know we got sandy soil, they have a beach area out there in one spot. You all have great days.

Retta, glad to hear you made it thru the storm with no damage.Rain is good...heavy storms are not!

Charleen, that is a very pretty bloom.Thank's for your comment about Baby. She is my little rotten sweety...sleeps beside me everynight. That pic was taken last winter, and she hated that sweater, and never wore it one time, but I had to take her pic in it.lol
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Did she pout at you?Dee. They can pout something awful sometime. My poor little lucky dog doesn't like a leash but when I take him out, he runs off.
He wants to be a daddy. I don't want any grandpuppies. But sure do love him. I'm afraid he will be hurt. He is a cute little Boston Terrier. 10 yrs. old
He is a sweet gentle baby.

Oh..she pouts all the time....but mostly when she doesn't get a few bites of sausage for breakfast...lol Lucky looks like a great dog...very calm. One of my son in laws has an old Boston, named babygirl..She has one blue eye and one brown, and you can never tell if she is looking at you or not. I'm telling you, she is the homelyest dog that I have ever seen, but she is soooo sweet, and they just love her to pieces. Your Lucky is a handsome feller.
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

But Dee, he is so silly. When I have company, he doesn'r stop barking til they leave. He will not let anyone pet him either. He is a little psyco, Lucky loves everyone. So does Lucas, Now Missy, is aloaf, I wouldn't trust her very much but Poor little Radar is a nut.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth,is I know you, you will have that basement looking spiffy in no time.Sounds like you will have all your new windows in, before this winters ober...yeahhhhhhh.
Deb, sounds like you got some great new plants.I love my variegated bower vine.I got mine on clearance last fall, and it stayed puney looking all winter, but when I put it out this past Spring it took off like gang busters and bloomed off and on all summer.I brought it into the plant room and it is still sending out new tendrils.I have grown persian shield, but never had dutchman's pipe. But, I really think they have a cool bloom!
Glad to hear that the service berry cuttings are taking, for you. They weren't the best looking cuttings, when I sent them. My serviceberry looked like it was stressing out, before I took them.I did transplant it from the other house, so I'm hoping it looks better, next year.
Dee

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Forgot to say that I love, love, love Cassie's Curls.Beautiful color!

i can hardly wait for my plants to get here.
i want to start growing.
i like to grow plants i never had before to.
i like growing cane begonias but not the rexs.to fussy.
and they bloom this time of year but no perfume;(
i did cut an iris that was is blooming now so i could enjoy inside, before it freezes.
that is one strange one,but some do.
i don't have that many plants,as the room is limited, inside and out.
sure sorry i did not buy a house with a yard when i moved back here.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Where are you going to put all your plants? I have it in a pot and will just bring it into the house. What is a CaneBegonia? I have a begonia and it has little red blooms,it blooms bout year round. It is in kitchen.
Charleen

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Morning Retta,I love cane begonias, but don't have any.I only have a couple red dragon wings. They are sooooo easy to grow.
Dee

Council Bluffs, IA

this early spring when it stops blooming and if u all want one i can send a few at a time.
they are easy to grow.let me know if u do.

going to put them in my sewing room for the winter and them out in the yard.
it is going to be fun.

going to look up dragon wing, never heard of that one.
most of mine are small (yet, and they sit in the kitchen window)

Retta, that Begonia is Beautiful, they are easy too grow, I used too have them, they also get very tall don't they, it looks really good where you have it

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Been putting potted brugs in gh.
Know frost is getting closer with each day. Was cool this morning.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Charlene
I emptied out the GH, they are now in the basement, everywhere, I need too go down there, too make room, it was cold this morning, it still a little bit chilly, but in the sun it's warm, if I leave plants in the GH at 28 degrees, they get Frost tipped really Bad, last year it was the week of Thanksgiving, I had a bunch,in the GH, they looked so bad, it took awhile for them too come out of it, the good thing for the trick or treaters, it will be 65 degrees

Elizabeth

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

That Cane Begonia is awesome!
I'm bringing things in also.
My legs are so sore though from my new very active schedule. Physical therapy, Chiropractor, Fibro pool therapy and helping to paint, etc our new church and move in...Whew...I feel like going back to bed, but too much to do ^_^

Hamilton, OH
