Before the house fire got all my plants a few years ago I had a night blooming jasmine and some other wonderful tropicals that had come from the NC Zoo, a few very old cacti and 5+ year old Avocados.
Have always liked Lantana. Next week I'm gonna see if I can have some of their annuals that get pulled and dumped for the winter. There are many beautiful annuals I would love to have but budget prevents me from buying and I don't have much luck with seeds.
Those of you that are digging up many plants for the winter will be in my prayers for strong backs! ^_^

Sheri

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Sheri, do you dig up your lantanas? I leave mine in the ground, but am farther south.
Got to get a few things dug up but thankfully that's not one of them.

Hamilton, OH

Debra, all your plants look so healthy, The photo of the Brug, is so pretty, I still have too take photo's of the pots, I just got
I now have a lot more room for Brugs, since I gave away a bunch of them, I was going too wait for a couple Brugs too Bloom, but the weather is changing, so by this week end, I'll have a lot in my basement, I bet the company that's advertizing
Windows for $189.00 is Window World, if it is they have good windows, they are the one's doing mine, they ask you for $200.00 down then when they install you pay $320.00 that for the trim & everything, I have 10 too go, then I am done
my utitility bill will be much lower because of it, I sure hope your house doesn't fall down, I wish I could say ours would be paid off in 2 years, you should be very proud

Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Sheri
I wish you lived close too me, I could have given you many plants, so I could have room for my Brugs, I was going too give away my Crown of thorns, but changed my mind, they'll be around for a couple more years
in a couple more weeks I can send you some clippings, so just hang in there, I am sure they will be lots of offers for postage
very shortly

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Adora is still blooming and the edges are ragged and brownish, but she has bloomed all summer long. Know she must be getting tired. Poor thing.
Charleen

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

why do you bleach the basement floor?

Hamilton, OH

Sheri
too keep my socks clean, plus it makes it nicer down there, Lowes sell outdoor Bleach, that's what I use, i just love it clean,
use too i would drag the brugs in there dirt & all but now I use potting soil bags, so I don't have the dirt all over the place
I also paint the floor every year, you'll see what I mean when I post photo's of everything all set up down there

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I have nice big tile, I line it with newspapers since the dkeDog needs to go sometimes before I geth ome to let him out. I don't know how long he can keep going up and down those stairs,, now he looks at me as I make my zillion trips up and down as if I am wearing him out. Moved a bunch of stuff into the garage for the night. have to debug it so I can haul it downstairs, it is cold right now. Brugs are all a blooming outside tho.
Your brugs are beautiful, charleen.
Those pots are awsome, elizabeth.
Charleen and dee and sheri all have packages on the way, plz let me know when you get them. Elizabeth, you are next.

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Sure will, Debra.
Thank you, Cool here in the 50's Brugs love it.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Debra, I will start too get your Box ready, I got 3 more Brugs dug up, BonBon didn't get that tall this year, it was a bear too dig out, that was after I soaked the ground, Thank you, those pots were a good find, but they didn't have not one broken bag of potting soil, I think someone gets there just before I do, I went to home depot, they had some, the small ones
it is a little bit on the cool side here, but the sun is shinning, that makes it a little bit warmer, tommorrow I will start taking my Brugs in, this evening I will be working on the basement

Charlene, Hi so it's cool down your way, I know you'll have lots of photo's for us, Yippee
Cheri, Hi, I bet it's still warm where you are
Dee, I hope too see you soon, I hope you're not working too hard
Elizabeth

McKinney, TX(Zone 8a)

For bleaching, try any oxygen bleach like Oxy-Clean. Follow the directions and it is amazing on concrete and especially wood decks. For wood decks it works better than a power washer without tearing up the wood fibers. Does require some elbow grease with a stiff brush or broom and a little patience. But the results are worth it.

Lantanas will freeze further north. We lost a lot of them around here with the deep freeze of 2009-10 when the temps got into the low teens for days on end. The crowns froze down to the roots and most never came back.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Look at all those beautiful blooms that you ladies have been sharing, while I was away. I'm so glad to be back...sure missed a lot.
Elizabeth, Naughty Nick bloomed like crazy, but they also were dropping just as fast.At least I did get to see the flowers and they were beautiful. I had a nice flush from Dola and Serendippity, also.
I have been carrying the plants to the basement...from the garage. Those steps can be hard on an old woman...lol I am just glad that I have a decent basement with a water spicket...The washer and dry used be down there
Dee

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Dee, I hear ya. My poor back and legs and knees were screaming at me this am. I made about 30 trips up and down, and that doesn't include all the re-potting , digging up and moving the big ones. I just asked DH if he was going to be able to bring in the Big trees, ( kaitlyn, Maya, etc. as they are in huge tubs. He said "don't worry , dear, between the two of us, we will get them in" Gosh he loves me so much!
This picture is from last week. It is totally different now, I keep moving the brugs to a room of their own.
I wonder if Charleen got her packet yet?
