Charleen, your plants look so nice in the retreat! All look happy and very healthy. You'll be getting a box from me next week, too.
Elizabeth, I think Cerus blooms are so exotic looking.yours is just beautiful! Sounds like Bouganvilla takes about the same care as my mandevillas.
Dee

Charlene
looking good there, I like your retreat, the plants will love the windows this winter, Congratulations on your new plants
celebrate as long as you can

Dee, Thank you, it is about the same care as the mandevilla's, the thing with the Bouganvilla is too not over water them in the winter, but in the summer they like a lot of water, I got a bunch of clipping cut today I have a Box I have too mail out monday, they are dipped in rooting powder in water, tommorrow I will be taking more, I wish NN would Bloom, that Brug & the Santa Rosa are so tall, there's no way it will fit in the basement without a haircut

Elizabeth

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth, if you have extra clippings that need a home, I would be always glad to send postage. My naughty nick has continued to lose most of his blooms. The ones that have opened are a beautiful pale peachy color. I got tired of pitching 1/2 opened blooms, and started putting them in a vase today.you know what they say...if life hands you lemons, make lemonade....well, I'm trying...lol I hope that they will go ahead and color up and open..

Evening ladies, I have been working straight thru since I got off work. I have to go in early so I can get off early to drive to Emporia after work to get college girl. she wants to come home.
Been trying to get more stuff done, made a bunch of cuttings of hibiscus, lantana, and coleus tonight. seems like I clean up a mess, and make a mess. I am supposed to be cleaning house, but all I have done is mess things up. I dug my night blooming jessimine out of the jungle corner on the patio tonight, got it all cleaned up, and then when I went outside I thought I had brugs opened it smelled so good out there, so I went around in the dark following the smells. Four o clocks, moon flowers and the jessimine were all making me swoon. I have four brugs about to burst out, after they get done I am bringing them in. I totally forgot about the ones out front. Found milk n honey almost ate up by a fat green worm, so squished it and promised her I would bring her in. She is budded out. Poor thing. My NN and NOL are just small things, so no blooms from them. Flamenco is the tallest, she is almost ten foot.
I wish I could grow bougies. My mandevilla is turning brown., should i cut it back and bring it in?
sure do love those cerus. I have no clue what kind mine are. Havn't seen any blooms.
Charlene I see a caudex plant n your table.. is it a buddah belly or a morning glory?
I have five caudex plants.

good afternoon, I checked my email, ran outside watered everything, I put extra water on Velvet rose & the small Brugs
later on today I will go out & dig them up, I did get PeanutXRosalla dug up in just a few tries, it came right up, it has Buds
on it so I put new potting soil on it then put about 4 inches of water in the little swimming pool, so maybe they will still Bloom
I am really afraid, this weather won't hold, so I am really starting too take them up, also I will be taking photo's of the street
out front, it sure looks different than last year when I had that Beautiful mum growing there it's gone, I gave it too my friend
after I dug it up, but the evergreens I kept, I will use those on the porch this Christmas, put ornaments on them
Dee, you're so right about the lemons
Debra did you want some leaves of the Cerus? I need too get your addy I am sending you Santa Rosa clippings, I didn't forget
Charlene, I love your Photo, what are you going too do with all the clippings you get from George?
Cheri, it's so easy too post photo's on here, once you have the downloaded on Photobucket, let us know if we can help you

Nice Night Blooming Cereus. I've had some awesome blooms, but none this year.
Seems they only bloom on second year growth or older. Mine is in rebuilding stage!!!

I've noticed mine tend to bloom around the time of a full moon.
Stayed up late one night and caught the opening process on this collage.

Very pretty.

Ladoga, IN(Zone 6a)

Debra, the mandevilla were one of my first plants that I brought in, because I had read that it's time to cut back and bring in, when the temps are in the 40's at night. I really don't have much experience with them, as I have only had mine, for about 6 or 7 weeks.Mine are the ones, that have the smaller shiny leaves... can't think of the name of this type. Anyway, I haven't cut mine back, because I am going to keep them growing in the sunroom as long as they are blooming.
Chuck, great pics!
Elizabeth, I'm with you...I don't think this weather is going to hold out either.
Hello, Charleen!
Dee

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Hugs girls and guys. Nothing blooming except my little Pink Smitty and it is looking tired but so cute. Love the perfume it has too. think I like it better than any so far.
Charleen

Winston Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

I'm gonna have to hustle and bring my many plants in. The nights are getting into the upper 40's (well a couple have).
I do the same silly rush of plant hauling every year. The days are still so nice that it makes it hard to realize how chilly that night air is.
My problem with pictures is a broken camera. I sure hope I can replace it soon as photography has long been a hobby of mine

Sheri

the Cerus I just posted is a day Blooming, but like the Night Blooming one the Blooms are for one day, but the Fragrance
was amazing, my Night Blooming one has Buds on it also, I need too bring it in too see if it will Bloom, you're so
right about the age of them, it took 3yrs for mine too Bloom
Charlene, I don't know if there's any that I need right now, I just went out this evening dug some up, then removed a lot of their leaves, I have yellow leaves also, I just pull them off, I did cut some huge stalks from the ones that had started too be like a shrub, I put them in a bucket of water, those are some I will be sharing, they are an inch in diameter
Dee, as I was digging, cutting & removing their leaves I thought about you, I am thinking that the end of the month, I'll need
addy's
Debra, I will be sending you Santa Rosa, I have my pen & paper ready, get me those addy's
Elizabeth

Hamilton, OH

Cheri
you're not alone, I think we all go through, the mad rush in the Spring & the fall, the weather has been really nice, but
it will get colder, I am digging at least 3 a day too get them all ready for their winter home, this year I am spraying them with neem oil, hopefully I get about 5 of the big one's taken down too the conservatory, I have 3 Strawberry Creme, that's 2 too many, I am going too limit my pink one's except for the double's, by the middle of next week if NN hasn't Bloomed
I am digging that monster up, I do hope you get too replace your Camera, I would love too see your photo's
well I have stayed up too long, so I am off too bed, Good night everyone

Carlene, just Beautiful, you have done a wonderful job with your Brugs, Congratulations on your seedpod, nice plant holder

Debra, Hi I am staying up a bit late had too dig some more Brugs, this evening, then get caught on the post, if I dig 5 a day
for the next 4 days, I'll be done, it's funny too watch me use string for the plant labels, with the cats around, they can't stand it, they just have too chase the string, so I have too put the string up over my head too put it in the labels so they can't reach it

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Elizabeth that was a cute picture you just painted in my mind with the cats attacking the string while you try to keep it from them .
Charleen I love that idea!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Debra, they already have a drainhole in them. all I had to do was drill another hole in base so water could get all the way out. those succulents should be good in there.
Poor Elizabeth, getting attached by cats. Bad as me having chickens under my feet looking for bugs when I did. Abigail gets so excited when I get a shovel. Her feathers are growing back now. So Glad, I was afraid se was going to freeze her tail. Here is Abigail and little Champ.

Debra, it is funny watching them, last night I tried too get a photo of them, just as I snapped the photo, they turned their
Heads, I called them Brat cats

Charlene, I really like your chickens, so cute, I miss chickens & ducks, here all we can have are cats & dogs, the city does have it's rules, did you notice your weather report? it's going too be like summer down your way, all this week, we are just a couple degrees lower than your weather all week low's of 55 degrees, yippee, we might actually see some Blooms
I am still digging the Brugs that aren't doing anything, I am down too 20 of them

Elizabeth

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

I went and raked 6-7 gardencarts of pine straw for my brugs. Going to take cuttings and leave roots in ground. Except for a couple of small ones. Want to start another flower bed too. always wanting something.
Just Nosin' around. Isabelle and Annabelle

your cats look like they are on high alert for more string!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Elizabeth, they messed up your world. I would be upset too.
Hope it will be worth it all.
Charleen

Hamilton, OH

Sheri, they are always on alert, too chase anything

Charlene, I have before photos before, during, then I will photo's after, just too see the difference, my street out front is a state route, so they will have too finish it quicker than the other streets, lucky for me we have a place too park, so it's all good

those are some really nice photo's, according to one wether station it says the low of 33 degrees Thursday night, I donated
3 big Brugs, the Huge Agave, the Huge Catcus & some houseplants to the local university, then I gave 2 huge Strawberry Creme & the Huge Frosty pink to a lady with a GH, after taking them to them, stopped by Lowes got a great deal on a couple cement flower pots, I will post a photo of them this evening, also I was worried that I didn't have enough flower pots
for all the plants that I have too take in, the lady I took the Brugs too gave me about 30, so now I am all set, I just have too pick up a couple bags of soil, it will be a mad rush Thursday too get everything in, I'll talk too you this evening if you're on here
Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

What a nice warm day to have to work was killing me.. I brought in the huge lantana pot and the pink smitty cestrum from the front tonight. They are hogging a whole table, but will cut them back later this winter. I dug up the pleckanthrus MONA tonight and made cuttings and planted the root stems.. I have had it for three years, really don't like buying plants if I can keep them going. ( annuals)
My little impatiens are really happy down there right now, popping out seeds for me right and left, which I just dump right back into the pots for new plants this spring.
One of my favorite hibiscus down there..

Thumbnail by joeswife

Debra
I like some annuals, I have a pot of scented geraniums, that I want too keep going, I love the scented leaves, I also have a lemon verbena, last year it just dried up & died, I thought maybe it was too hot & dry in the basement, so this year, i will keep it in the attic, that's a pretty hibiscus, those are DH's favorite, tommorrow, I will do the mad rush, to get a lot of my plants in the basement, I guess it's time, I am going to keep a couple big brugs, in the house, now that I have good windows
I have 11 more windows too do then, the utitility bills should be a lot less expensive, all i have too do now is get the foam
insulation, then it will be really cozy even in the winter

Elizabeth

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

We have an outfit here in town advertising a new window for 189. I need all new windows and the frames too. Ugh.
I need cracks filled in the basement walls, the brick sealed, the cedar re nailed and the gutters redone. Hubby says wait until we get house paid off. Two years to go.. I hope we don't fall in the ground by then LOL
I was going to try a scented geranium, but I have so man small ones I grew from seeds, I am putting them all in one big pot.. Lantanas are almost all in, a few left in the ground outside in front, and about two left out in pots in the back.
look here at poor thing, this is what happens when college girl goes to turn off the light switches..
