Infamy always has a price.
Victor, you should be writing for the advertisers! Glad the miners made it.....I'm sure there'll be plenty of nightmares....
After that experience, I wouldn't even walk into the closet.
17 miners up by 1 o'clock. Brave first aid person went down before miners were sent up. Hope that this experience gives help for recuing future mine disasters. I realize that they had made it to a shelter area.
Let's hope that mines could be operated without people going down at all!
dreamer!
It seems like a lot of mine disasters, lately, or else more coverage. Have problems in an elevator....would not try a mine...
25 up now. It appears it's going to be totally successful. They have another capsule in case something happens to this one, but so far, so good.
Considering at first they said it would be Christmas, I guess this has gone very well. Bringing tears to my eyes as each miner comes up.
They're all up and time for celebration round the world. 10-13-10, a date to remember!
Anyone forget his cell phone down there?
"Wait, I have a text"
Anyone know what the mining was for? When I was in Chile, copper was abundant.
I think copper and gold.
I remember the trucks laden with copper. It's a beautiful country, wonderful people and trucks dragging the ground with copper. They also had 2 things there that will never be found here(and maybe they don't remain there today). One was roadside ovens with fresh baked flat bread. Yum!! And Chi-Chi stands, the in between stage of making wine. Very fruity and bubbly...also yum, yum, yum!! One of the best vacations I ever had. I had such a wonderful time there and am so glad that those men came up and out to continue their lives..and Thank You America for getting them out!!
Have a very good friend who is Chilean. Very advanced country. Very cosmopolitan with a strong Euro influence.
History in the making. I made sure the grandchildren watched what they could of it. Definitely a time for celebration.
I hope they got the 5 rescue workers up as well. brave going down there.
Last rescue worker is on his way up.
cool. I was watching the basketball game so the news was partially over when I switched to it.
It's about time we get a date to celebrate something good...don't ya think!
I am so thankful all those miner made it out.....miracles DO still happen! ^_^
Chile really distinguished itself. They thought of everything.
Nice photo series of the rescue.
