I felt fine and was sure I was 100% when I went to the doctor. Between the flu shot and the news I had a problem with the EKG, I am not doing too well today. That flu shot knocked me for a loop. Wow....fever and all.
I got a referral to Deborah Heart and Lung Hospital, which is not far from me. My doctor will not see me again until I need to go back to her six months from now to get my cholesterol checked again. I have no idea who my doctor will be after the stress test. She did give me a name of a man she thought was still there, but I have no clue. As long as they know what they are doing it is o.k. with me. If not. I am screwed.
I hate the thought of all of this. I feel fine. Crap. My little baby christmas cactus are getting buds in the greenhouse. Imagine.
Must go and try and clean up the birds. I am still feeling a bit week from the flu shot and I am not sure how it will go. I cancelled my chiropractor appointment today because I do not feel up to that. I will do it Friday/
Plant propagation part XXII based on my own experience
JB, Bob and I were talking and can't figure out why they are putting you thru this EKG thing at the hospital when you are feeling so bunged up with the flu shot??? Wouldn't the problems from the shot be throwing the EKG off? And how could anything at the hospital give you right answers when you are having the problems with the shot?
This doesn't make sense. I have had only one flu shot in my life and thank God it did not have any of these affects on me. I normally don't get them because I am not round that many people to get the flu from. Doc says that kinda makes sense. Anyway, I was at the clinic one day for something else and one of the nurses had a shot all ready for me so I agreed to take it. A couple of years ago. But, aren't there all kinds of flu out there? And they don't have a shot for all kinds, so how do they know which one to cover?
LOL, just like it doesn't make sense for the CC to be blooming in the bright lights of the greenhouse.
JB ~ You are in my prayers. It is scary when they want to send you to the hospital and you don't know what is wrong with you. I hope you are fine or they fix whatever is ailing you.
Merry ~ You are so busy yourself. Your garden must look fantastic!
Sharon ~ How is Vern this morning? And how are you? What project are you working on now for your own property, or is the landscape crew for you? (I never know...)
Dave ~ It is good that you are getting some seeds started.
I must go as we are getting started for the day. Have a good day everyone!
Jeanette ~ I agree with you on the flu shots...how can they possibly cover all the strains of flu as the viruses are constantly mutating? I have had a bad reaction to one in the past, but last year I had regular and H1N1 with no problem. I don't think I'll get one this year though. I think that H1N1 was really not such a big threat as they made it out to be, but because the gov't invested so much $$ in the imunization program, they had to keep feeding the newcasts with it every day. Don't you think they overdid it?
Good morning everyone:
i always get the flue shot. I do this because I am exposed to the grandbabies and my health issues i don't want to play arround with it. Its my understanding that they predict the latest straines based on history and what happened last year. is it a racket very likely is but it seems to help me as I used to not get them and always ended up sick for a week or two each year and that was no exposure to little ones who are developing their imunities.
Mary I will get with you on the endless summer so I can get it shiped out to you. I have to figure out the details on them and I will dmail you a price on them.
I spent the day yesterday inside so I took it easy I am thinking of going out today and getting more done but it depends on how messy the patio area is. it floods every time we get rain and takes 2 days to drain off. so it might be day two of seed planning.
Have a great day everyone
Dave
Well we are in the middle of a sever thunder storm Big time rain and windows are rattling from the booming going on. The drains in the courtyard are working and that is a good thing. Three days in a row of big time rain. Suppose to be a little more tomorrow and then it will be gone.
Made minestrone soup and baby back ribs today. Now Vern has something to eat for a few days.
Evelyn, the new landscapers are for me and 8 other houses. My old crew that I had for over 5 years finally made me mad enough I fired the on the spot. That is a long story It takes many many things going wrong and nothing being done to make me react like that. But I also have major planting going on at the end of the greenbelt. I will take a photo when completed. Have not taken any photos this week because of overcast skies and rain.
I always get the flu shot. I did so when I was working because I had 42 employees and there was always someone in the offices getting a mortgage. Probably at least 20 different people a day from 20 different loan officers. Now I get it out of habit but I have had no ill effects. With my Asthma problem my lung doctor wants me to get the flu shot.
Dave, why does your patio flood when it rains?
Vern is doing better. He has his first doctors appointment after the implantation of the pace maker.
JB, Vern's first hint of a problem was the EKG. Probably need a pace maker to keep that beautiful old heart beating right. Whoever did the test should have told you what they were concerned about. You should have insisted on knowing. Actually you should call them tomorrow and ask them what they think the problem is and do not take no for an answer.
JB, I use to drink Gin straight up in a chilled glass with two olives on the side. I had to quit drinking Gin because it made me mean. I have a small, minuet amount of Indian blood and when I drink Gin I start looking for a tomahawk. I have not had a drink for over 3 months. Just gave it up and really do not miss it.
I had to go to Costco today and only purchased 4 things. Two bags of dried mangoes, green seedless grapes and cat food. Our cat is 18 years old and thought for sure she would never finish a case of cat food but she did and is growing strong. The silly cat loves Vern. He feeds her and in the middle of the night she came downstairs to our master bedroom and bothered Vern for over an hour. That was when he admitted she was out of canned food.
I am going to get something to each. Vern is watching another baseball game. He is happy and that is what it is all about.
JB I have had so many EKG's over the years, mainly for pre-op exams and they never found anything. They got a good strong beat and that was all that mattered I guess. At least I guess that is what they were looking for. Don't worry about it. They need more money to pay for that equipment and know you have plenty. LOL
good evening or morning depending on your location.
when we moved in our patio was broken up by a huge silver maple that was 5 feet from the house. 2 years ago we had it and a half dead poor excuse for a river birch removed and ground down. we broke up the concrete pad and had the concrete removed. we had to wait to put in the new pad/deck untill the back door was raised . we raised the door to acomidate the floor raising. the sunken living room was not to frendly to me or kim. i fell a few times steping down or up so it had to go. now we need to raise the ground to force the rain water to flow out the back yard and down stream. we had a massive shallow french drain installed on the north side of the house to cary off the excess water. My bro in law installed it. he failed to run it into the middle of the patio area.... and he thinks I am an idiot
#$@$^redneck so in so has no clue about reality. same bil who hashis girls living with us. ungratefull ohhh don't get me going ....
anyway sorry for the outburst..... now we are trying to build up the ground and either pour a new slab or build a deck. we still have to remove the roof from the patio and haul in some fill. I know once we get the backyard fixed up it will be paradise. we are going to line the brick retaining wall with Green Giant Arborvitae

I found some 5 to 6' for like $60.00 each delivered. the price has to be good as we need like 11 or more.
well tomorrow is gonna be a bad one just from the ache i feel. I doubt I will crawl out of bed from the way i am feeling.
have a good day I might be on later... we will see
Dave
I am not going to be to concerned. It has changed from my baseline EKG showing some wires may be disconnected...LOL....she told me not to worry, the reason for the stress test is to see what caused the difference between the two. Could be old age, but it has been years since I had an EKG and that is what happened. I have normal bloodwork, BP and 190 cholesterol. At 82 that ain't bad. She was a surprised as me. I am wondering if anxiety can affect the results of an EKG. If so, that could have been it. Whatever, I will get it fixed and go from there., I am not dead yet. JB
Great news JB. we moved to a mew thread. well it seems I was struck by the idiot tree and failed to post the new info here. welll heeeeerrrrrreeeee it issssss

LOL, You are like Bob's mom. She is 90 years old and called us from the hospital last Friday. I sure was glad I had her on our family plan with the phone company. The hospitals will not let her call long distance to tell us she is there. With what they charge, I think that stinks.
Dave, I bought a whole bunch of those in Seattle years ago and planted them like I was told, they were balled in burlap so just layed it open and planted them? Yeah, right. Well, they died the second year they were in. I pulled them up and the roots were still in the ball of clay they grew them in. They just cut off the roots and made a small ball of clay around them. I sat and used a screw driver to dig out the clay between the roots and using a hose of running water finally planted them and saved a few. So, be careful what you get and how you plant them. I think I would buy one first and see what kind of roots they have.
I do agree when you buy larger plants you need to know what you are getting. buying 1 and seeing it is a great idea. On a lot of trees I stay away from b&b as i have been bitten one to many times. now with that said there are a lot of highly skilled people out there who can do a B& B tree and its no problem. I went on one buying trip in north florida and ended up doing a lot of the B & B work on my own order. there were fantastic specimines of deodor cedar's so I really did not mind doing it. of course It took me a few days to get back to rested statis.
