i would love to try a spider lily also--if you have extras
I was answering this as well as Cheryl asking for Spider Lilys from me.
Remember now?
Also hoping for a wild petunia from Josephine (think thats the common name for it)
C
Linda, I know how you feel.. .candy store with out the calories.
I have strawberry gomphrena for you. I hope I will have some seed heads as well. You will never have to ask for it again!
Cheryl or Stephanie, I would love one phlox pilosa. I have one, but I didn't get any seedlings. It is gorgeous.
Dennis, thanks for the chili. Glad you found some babies.
Okay, I'm convinced -- if all turns out okay, we will all be there. Thanks for the encouragement!
Now to go get a couple crape mrytles dug up -- sure hope they like their new temporary pot home! Any advice appreciated to those who have done this!
Okay, I'm excited all over again. So, where is this park? Will googling get it for me?
I will bring you one more banana. Mine are not from seedlings its from the perimeter of the parent plant. It was huge this year and side shoots rooted everywhere along the margins. I have probably potted up 25 plants and still have 12 or so.
C
I am trying to update my obligations to everyone. If I have missed you, please speak up. I am more concerned about what i am giving, than what I am receiving.
catzgalore - the Redbuds are pink.
I am adding these to my list;
Alstroemeria
Korean Foxglove
Jewels of Opar
Mock Orange - Philadelphus
Winter Honeysuckle
I would be interested in an alstroemeria, is it hardy?
C
newtonsthirdlaw, yes it is and I have given hundreds away and still have plenty.
What color is the alstroemeria?
Common Parrot's Beak, for now.
Kenboy, wow! Never knew alstroemeria was hardy in 8a.I will try one please. Anything you would like from my list?
Thanks Cheryl for the phlox. Would you like anything from me?
Ken, I NEED a Korean foxglove! I saw those at David's place and love them!
Sure bananna18, how about both DLs Happy Returns DL Crimson Pirate DL, I can also bring you a nice Brug, not listed.
Looking for any perennials that are really drought and heat tolerant, any available?
C
Great patrob, I got mine from Dave this Spring and it was in bloom, now I have several seedlings.
Is the Korean Foxglove the tree? Or are you talking about a flower?
newtonsthirdlaw, the Foxglove is not a tree. I know nothing about the plant but liked the flowers and got one from Dave. Do you want one and do you want an Alstromeria?
Thank you, Ken.
I would like an alstroemeria Ken. I was just curious about the foxglove as I saw a reference to a korean foxglove tree on another post sometime ago. Do the alstroemeria require damp soil?
C
Kenboy, I can bring you those DLs. I even found an extra Ice Carnival if you want. I would prefer a ginger if you have one that doesn't grow too high.
Ken I would take a foxglove too if you have any unclaimed. I am trying to imagine a foxglove growing in TX. I grew a couple of the true perennial sp. in zone 5 and they liked shade and moist soils. The biennials are lovely too but I never really grew too many of them.
C
patrob, could you add any of the irises, tall bearded you have left and can you D-mail me your Brug list, I have several that you may want, thanks.
bananna18, yes I would love the third DL, thanks.
Wow! all this trading, you guys are on fire.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Linda you have the Willowleaf aster and the Cowpen daisy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheryl you have the Wild petunia and also a Drummond's aster, drought resistant perennials.
AH I finally realized what a DL is! I didn't want to appear stupid so I didn't ask but now it makes sense. I have several small DL starts that are left over from an order I just planted. They are rebloomers and unfortunately I do not know which is which? 3 colors: very pink, purple with a yellow throat and cream with a purple stripe. If anyone wants them I will bring them.
C
How could newtonsthirdlaw appear "stupid"? When you know what is below just as I do.
To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction: or the mutual actions of two bodies upon each other are always equal, and directed to contrary parts. — Whatever draws or presses another is as much drawn or pressed by that other. If you press a stone with your finger, the finger is also pressed by the stone. If a horse draws a stone tied to a rope, the horse (if I may so say) will be equally drawn back towards the stone: for the distended rope, by the same endeavour to relax or unbend itself, will draw the horse as much towards the stone, as it does the stone towards the horse, and will obstruct the progress of the one as much as it advances that of the other. If a body impinges upon another, and by its force changes the motion of the other, that body also (because of the equality of the mutual pressure) will undergo an equal change, in its own motion, toward the contrary part. The changes made by these actions are equal, not in the velocities but in the motions of the bodies; that is to say, if the bodies are not hindered by any other impediments. For, as the motions are equally changed, the changes of the velocities made toward contrary parts are reciprocally proportional to the bodies. This law takes place also in attractions, as will be proved in the next scholium
Now do you have this commited to memory?
I think we can all be stupid from time to time, its part of being human.
I wonder what Isaac thought about such matters.
lol I have not refreshed my memory of Newton's laws in many years and wondered if the third law was an object at rest ....
Hello Guys, I added the link to the Randol Mill Park map at the top, but will put it here also;
http://arlingtonathletics.multisportsystems.com/page/show/97122-randol-mill-park
Yes and no. I never did like Variable-mass systems but I never really forget anything that I ever memorized or looked at for very long in school. I just thought giving LAW III would give your name so much more mass.
I love my "dumb" moments...
Heaven help me I do not need any more mass! But thanks for the review.
Now you know Patrob.
I once demonstrated law 3 by nearly pushing a student off his chair. Couldn't get away with that now, I would be sued or get arrested.
Grey mass...not body!
A strange conversation brought back a funny memory so perhaps your efforts weren't wasted.
C
I see you are quite the collector! I'll mark them for you. Thanks!
Gratz!
I'm late in coming in here so I don't have a thread for my trades @ least not yet.
I have:
Princess Flowers
Loropetalum
Red Cascades
Cigar Plants
Silver Leaf Maples
Red Tips
Crinum, sprouting seeds
Star Jasmine
Abelia
I'm not home but will ck for other things when I get home tomorrow.
:~)
I see it is better to check the thread before posting ............Should have done that @8:30.
As for Physics, I can't contribute much. But my favorite abbreviation was in the clematis forum , talking about PPE(purple plens elegans). Finally someone asked b/c she could only figure out it meant purple people eater. Cheryl, only bring the DL if they have grown too big and need to be separated.
The ones I have are in pots because I didn't want to have that many started. They are quite tiny but will grow if anyone wants them. Each plant I ordered had 3 or 4 starts and I planted 2 of each and put the small ones into pots.
Smockette, I would take a silver maple if they are not too small. I have several trees that I am training as bonsai (at least that is my hope).
C
Funny you say training I just whack mine down and cut away roots until they fit.
