Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is a kodak moment for sure Judy..

You've done a great job on the quilt top, just so creative; love how you get to do your hand stitching..they'll love the curious George theme; am hoping you can use your discount. I'm so missing my Fabricland in Midland, boo hoo, but with material sent to me by Barb and Susan, I shouldn't be looking for more before I use it all up..

Going to phone Ann in a sec. and see how she's doing...doubtful she'll go to Meaford with me.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Women are STUBBORN!! and they think it's the men who are.

Thankfully Mike just got home from the city, Ann has had to sit on the floor most of the morning due to nausea and feeling as though she will pass out..yikes, that's not good..I say, 'go to the hospital' and she says 'I can't be sick right now!' dah...might be something she could take to help ease what's happening. Told me she won't go tomorrow, not up to it and doesn't want me to have to bring her home and ruin my day if she's not well.

Going to call her again tonight and see.

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, we are having Homecoming weekend also....dance is tomorrow.

Shane is going "stag" as he doesn't want any of his women upset with him. Told me the other day he had to go to the girls soccer game. I said "for which girl?" He said "All of them, I can't disappoint." Its going to be worse after the Assembly today with his band....him playing lead guitar. I swear its like the Jonas brothers with the girls scraming! lol

I had so much to do, so went through the drive up at burger king....now I am paying the price! Ugh!

Tell Steve he looks more handsome than when we saw him.....your a lucky woman! lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Steve is indeed a good looking hunk, we'd have to say that wouldn't we Debbie as he led us out of town following him on his motorcycle..that was priceless.

Boys! Dannie is having the same problem with her 3 boys 12-14-15 who have a band, now a website and agent..yikes, they also think they are the Jonas brothers..don't overdo Debbie!

Suzanne was off today, both Paul's daughters left at 12:30 as they are preparing a party for their mom which is for tonight so it's just little old me sitting here for another hour..can't complain, did have 2 1/2 days off..

Maybe I should concentrate telling him to call and say 'go home-enjoy your weekend!' hmmm wonder if it would work? will try..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

(((All of you who need or want them))) There are your hugs...just no time to comment on all I've read....I cry with you, I celebrate with you. You know who you are!

I'm trying to gear up for the Juvenile Diabetes Walk for a Cure tomorrow. Some of you sistahs have donated to the web site and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! If anyone is interested, here is the site that you can donate to. They think there could be a cure in Jordyn's lifetime...wouldn't that be awesome?????? So every penny counts!

Yikes, Had Water in the basement issues in the Spring, not fun...Hope you get everything all cleaned up...even more hope you didn't loose too much....Plastic bins with lids are VERY helpful.

Oh, What a nice article about your family, yep you should be very proud...Will be looking forward to hearing how your day at Meaford Octoberfest is. Hope the weather is nice for that.

Waiving Hi Dianne, yikes, can't imagine being with out electric that long, glad everything seems to be back?

Hi Sunshine...Went and did my pledge, hope the weather is good tomorrow, will think of you all day.

Debbie, well, bummer about DS having Senioritis! well, lets hope it calms down. Yahoo on Homecoming, wishing your team lots of success...Jakes at FB practice right now, goes late tomorrow 9:30, then will continue on to game, staying for Varsity, just to half time, want to see the band! I've been watching them rehearse, but never seen the whole routine. Cool, about Shane, Too cute screaming Girls. Breenie not going to Pep Rally, not sure about Jake..it's later tonight. So we have Homecoming Crazies, lol don't know if i am coming or going today...

Well, I got my Tiller, still haven't fired it up, feel kind of weird if I do and not finished the blanket...Tomorrow, I hope.

Mary, How are you doing???

Betty and Debbie, awe shux thanks, yep he's my handsome all right! Well he sure has a way of things, remember I told you all my diamond fell out. It's been put away, Last night when he got home from a bike ride with Breenie, He kneels down on one knee, holding out my ring and says Babe will you marry me? You bet in a heart beat! Oh my and my ring is all sparkly clean...They said, no more gardening in it!! LOL, I asked him if he told em it is about 25 years since it was last cleaned and tighest...Geesh I was lucky!

OK, well I got to scoot for a Bit

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Ah my lil Injun....thank you so much for the pledge. Thanks to all the others as well, and armwraps back at ya!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hi everyone! I'm back from the conference, got home just a little after 4pm and I am physically exhausted so going to call it an early night. I'll catch up tomorrow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Here I is...lol...well I've spend $75.00 for 1/2 hr. better places, my opinion only, shaking my head..

She did cards, I got to shuffle, told me not to cross my arms or legs, told me to give her some cards which I did and the gabbing started..I would say she put down through the entire 1/2 hr. maybe 12 or so cards, each and I say each relating to a relationship, basically told me my life was boring, said that there is a nice man out there just waiting for me but that I'm pigheaded/stubborn by staying in the house and not joining things in a bigger community so we can be together..yadda/yadda/yadda..down comes more cards, more of same/more cards, more of same..no bad news, said I've a well rounded life, great friends, routine schedule but there is more to life!

ok..I commented several times as to 'but what if I'm happy as I am' answer is that I could be happier..she said how would I like to have spaghetti and slice of bread every day of my life? because in living like I am that's exactly what it will be like, nothing different, no excitement, get up, do things/go to bed..lordy girls, here I thought I had a lovely life but not according to her..again I said to her, 'but what if I'm not looking for a man' she said that all the cards show someone and I must take notice..

then she says even the man (guide) behind me is urging me on, said it was either my husband or my father, she has quite the humour, said, 'he's putting his hand on your chest' then says 'spirits on the other side aren't feeling for boobs' told her it must be my father then because if it was my husband, he'd be feeling for them'..lol.. too funny

She asked me if there were any questions, I asked her about my family, she said they were well rounded, no problems, financially secure, no drugs etc.

There we go, more boring life..

She asks me where I work, I tell her a bankruptcy firm, she assures me the man I'm to meet will not be going bankrupt and that he is financially well off..said we won't meet just to get in the sack..shaking my head here..said that we'll be friends for at least 6 months, joining in with friends but we will form a great love, do a lot of same things, enjoy each others company, he's a widower, lordy/lordy back to a man in my life..just couldn't change the subject ..

told me to look at the cards remaining in the deck that we didn't look at, said there were more negative cards than positive cards and she told me it was interesting to see that every card she put down was nothing but good

(oh, yes the fortune teller told me AGAIN to take my ring off left hand and put it on my right hand) news

And for this I spent $75.00

Guess I'll have to be on the lookout for a man approx 65 yrs. old who wants to be my friend...know anyone???

LindaKay, what exciting news..
Judy, glad you got your wedding band on
Crissy did all go well at the workshop?
Joyce, best of luck at the fund raising event!

Tired, off I go to bed, no birthday party for me tonight..girls want to leave at 8am so I've got to be up and at it at least by 6am..

Gab later

Verona, ON

Now Debbie dear sister I truly think you are sending any rain I send your way back to me here in little ole Verona. I'm soon going to start quacking if this rain doesn't stop.
Judy your 2 men are handsome dudes!Hope Jake has a good time at the Prom.
Betty I know you will have a great time in Meaford. Hope Ann is feeling well enough to go - they do have a Medic on site if she does go and needs some help. The couple that have the candle factory used to be on the circuit but found it was worth their while to not travel around. They were in the Meaford show one year and then weren't allowed back in... don't know the reason and don't want to know. They were so angry that they were going to set up a second show on the same weekend and have free admission. Once they cooled down the new show never took place. One of a Kind and Signatures used to battle it out at their Christmas show but everybody ended up the loser.
All of my bulbs have arrived so as soon as it dries up enough we will get them in. The Hyacinth bulbs arrived today and that was the last to come. Would like to hear from anyone who has had Tree Lilies as I have no idea what would be the best spot to plant them.
Had to make an unscheduled trip into Kingston today for a MRI. The Neurosurgeon hasn't called so I guess it is not as severe a problem as he thought. All I could think of was here we go again. If I drive to Kingston it takes almost an hour. If DH drives it is 40 - 45 min. From what I have read on here if Crissy was driving it would take 30 min!
Mary how is that pup of yours doing?
Housse I have a large white GS that likes to counter surf. Consider yourself lucky, although when you have your head and taste buds all reved up to have a slice of homemade bread it is a bummer. Stormy managed to take a whole turkey breast that my DH had boned out of a very large turkey and then froze it. It was on the counter thawing, we were in the next room. Not only were there no crumbs not a 1 the saran and foil over the turkey looked like it hadn't been touched. Welcome Housee. I am new to this thread too but they are a wonderful group of ladies. I consider it an honour to spend time with them each day. I am Dianne, I live in the bush near Verona and love to garden. I have a wonderful DH, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
LK you must be so excited about a new grandchild. Another baby we can all enjoy.
Stacey you must be overjoyed with the strides Jonathan is making. Are you driving now?
OK going to go read for a bit. Enjoy your weekend everyone. Make sure you do something nice for yourself tomorrow.
Dianne

Hello To All !

Well - it has been an exhausting week !

Judy - I am Well ! Very glad this week is over... DH home late SEVERAL times this week......Homecoming is (was) so SO much fun... I hope you all enjoyed it...the picture taking and all.. what a GREAT pic of DH showing ds how to tie a tie.......

Dianne - the Pup is well ...I'll try to post a current pic... she has alternated GOOD and BAD days... today was a BAD day but I was not home..... (Probably why LOL!).....

Deb.... I hope the Senioritis gets 'cured' ......my DS gave me a run for my money last year... he pulled some pranks...almost did not graduate... I am wishing you some PEACE! know how the teens can get.....hope the Animal issue works itself out...

A Tiny kitten was found in the back yard 2 nights ago... boy did that cause a stir.... I THINK we've found a family for it.... felt like Debbie's "SIGN" got sent to my house ! (Free home for Strays)

About 50 folks SO Far RSVP'd for the MIL/FIL Golden anniv so far.... I found a GOOD band for $600 but DH and BIL aren't going for it. I just might book and pay for them myself.. I just feel that MIL and FIL would LOVE it... that much.... So we have a party of 60+ with family and RSVP's....

Betty - I had a Psychic who gave me a cassette.... this was years after the Bourbon St. incident I discussed earlier... any way.... SHE was Spot-on as well... HMmmmm....

Don't know if you can see Belle in this pic... I'll check back in a bit...

Hugs to all,
Mary

Mary that looks like a content puppy sitting amongst the greenery..
Sounds as though you've got the entire Anniversary party under control; you'll be glad when it's over and you can breath again!

Dianne, wow, you are getting all the rain and I won't fight you for it.
No news is good news they say! Was in Kingston for a Recreation Convention many years ago, sure is beautiful country you live in, much like my Georgian Bay region..as the the Candle Shop, it's a large factory building just before you get to the downtown area, maybe 2 miles in..has 5 large areas all displaying country items, decorative pieces of furniture, but for these 3 days of activities the set up the monster tents filled with goodies..I'll have to take my camera so I can take photo's for you.

Called Ann last night but she said she still doesn't have her footing so won't be going. She's worried that I'd have to cut my day short if I took her along so if all goes as planned, I might not have to drive, if one of the other girls who is unsure of going as of last night (hubby wants to go with her) goes on their own, (we told her it was a ladies day out) then I'll go in the other van.

Just as I was going to bed last night I remembered what it was like to have teens in the house, it was 9pm and Rose came out of her room dressed to kill, apparently she had met some local kids and they were having a get-together down the street so off she went; I wasn't sure I liked that idea, didn't know who the kids were as she didn't have their names but I did get her to give me the address just incase. She got home at 12:30pm, had been sleeping off and on, as soon as I knew she was home and safe, closed my eyes and that was it until this morning.

Well, need to finish my coffee, wash my floors, get dressed and all before the girls get here at 8:00 a.m.

Enjoy your day

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Thank you for your donation, Betty. I'll be sure to tell Jordyn how supportive you've all been.

Sounds like she has a routine for sure, Betty!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Betty-sorry you were so disappointed with the psychic:( Maybe Mike can convince Ann to see the Dr.

Mary-what great news about the RSVP's-how many did you invite??

Dianne-yes I am able to drive again-thank god!! I was getting sick of having to be taxied around!!

Debbie-Pontiac is about 1.5 hrs N of me-you are more than welcome to come, even with my mom here, would still have 1 empty bed-I can even give you directions from Pontiac;)

Copied and Pasted:
Yesterday Jonathan was up to 6lbs, 9.25oz!! He did well on his noon feeding and his 3pm feeding. For his 6pm feeding he took all of the bottle, but did have an alarm that went off twice. For his 9pm feeding he woke up at 9 (the nurse was finishing a feed for another baby) and started crying because he was hungry!! Yeah!! The nurse said she started laughing because he is normally so quiet and that he fed really well. She said that is a good sign-having to work to wake him up wasn't a good thing, so him waking up hungry is great! He will get an echo-cardiogram today-the Dr thought he heard a heart murmur. We will see since this is the first time they have thought they heard anything. I watched the take home video yesterday-the one Dr from the NICU starred in it and I was cracking up-he got all red and kinda sped through the part about the circumcision-especially when using the correct term for a specific part of the anatomy (you all know what I am talking about)-it was making me laugh!!LOL So now that is done and he just has to do the car seat test and get his pics when it is time to come home.

I forgot to tell you that on Thursday when I was changing his last diaper I almost got peed on-had to use the the diaper to clean up a few drops and cover him up;) Then when Chris went to visit and changed his diaper, the same thing happened to him-LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Stacy, when I was shopping for Brittanys shower, I saw these little shields you put on little boys when your changing them. I laughed so hard....thinking someone sure is going to be rich for that invention! I remember my son nailing several of us more than once.

When I brought my first baby home, I had NEVER changed a diaper before. My SIL came over to help me the first day home, I lifted Jeanna's little legs to change her and the child "projectile pooped" three feet across the room ...and all over me! I started crying and told Carol to take her back....I was done! I was postive she did it on purpose and hated me. LOL She is 26 now...going to be 27 the end of this month....and somehow I survived her, and 3 others!

Betty, have a wonderful time today. Remember to drink fluids and sit and rest when you can!

Mary, DS is doing the same things you mentioned your son did. But more than that...he is being rather depressed. I think it is all so many changes here, out of our control, and he is just 17 trying to handle it all.

Dianne, I had to laugh...and DH asked why I was laughing. You nailed Crissy dead on there with the driving....my word, I still laugh about us speeding along the way...Betty and I wondering if we would see tomorrrow! Of course, looking back.....I do the same thing here, and if I had known the roads....probably would have done similar! We had so much fun though.

DH, Mike and Shannon have all had colds....and they have decided to share. I am not pleased...no time for this! lol

Here is a picture of my "other" child at her little shower last night. This is Brittany, one of my adopted kids

Goodness, you all have been busy! Lauging at the money spent for your reading Betty, Best you put that ring on your other hand, Maybe you will find that man this week-end??? Don't think she read you very well!
Stacey, little boys are so good at waiting for you to remove the diaper, they will do it almost everytime!

Hello to everyone! Hope you all have a great day!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh Betty good grief, $75.00!!!! Hey! I could cast your lifetime horoscope for free and get a reading to see if it matches what she said, I have the book and everything, wanna do it just for the heck of it? I did my own when I was 18 and now at 37 3/4 years old so far it has matched pretty darn close to what's happened in my life, and the female Scorpio description matches me to a tee!! It's weird! I could do anybody's if anyone is curious... lol

Dianne I need to plant my bulbs soon also but it hasn't rained in about a month again and the dirt is like cement. Should I wait until we get some rain, even though there's none in the long term forecast, or should I plant them in the cement like dirt? LOL Yea I can get a move on sometimes, when I need to.

LK I don't think she read it right either, the cards just don't seem right.

Stacey when was your original due date? Seems like he's doing fine, but I agree you don't want to take those alarms home with you.

Lyndonville, NY

Crissy...you can do mine if you want. I love that stuff.

And yes darlin, you are a typical normal scorpio girl....you remind me so much of my daughter....who is the same! lol Lead foot and all! haha

I am in a mood. And have decided I am going for a haircut. Lord help me. You do know your not supposed to get your hair cut when your in a mood! lol

Stacey, you will sleep much better when the baby comes home, if he is off all the alarms and such. I have always been told, and learned myself, that boys develop at a different pace than newborn girls....so he is going to do what he wants! lol We could probably use some updated pictures ya know! lol

Gotta run, I have to get beautiful to go get my hair cut. lol

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

crissy , you could do me!! think it would be fun...never done such a thing!!??

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

I would like mine done Crissy. BEV

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Crissy, you can do mine too! See what it says!

Stacey, don't worry about the heart murmur either. I have had a heart murmur for years! Lots of kids have them, and they lead very active lives!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Ok!! Woo Hoo!!! I'm going to dmail y'all and get info that I need to do it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Waving to all, lordy it's cold, was especially cold with the wind coming off Georgian Bay..

Another kind of disappointing day lol (came home with almost all my $$$) isn't that depressing. Finding that everything they have I can do, nothing really new; Debbie, Darlene told me to save those unspend $$$ for Hamburg which of course sounds like a plan to me.

Got lots of wonderful candles at the candle shop, a chicken sign for Debbie and came across a lovely piece for a memorial garden for Debbie, how come all for Debbie? got her name in the memorial swap which is lucky for me because I'll be seeing her shortly so won't post AND this swap was different, it was posted who got who..sooo Debbie, sure hope you like the piece I picked, several women in the line-up to pay were saying isn't that a lovely piece!!! made me think I did good..

Also got a few pieces for my October Swap, don't know who my buddy is yet but other than something I'll make, it's done, will get it mailed out when I cross the border..

Nothing out that was Christmas' eeee that I thought might be nice, all and all, I'm a tired girl!

Stopped for Kentucky Fried Chicken for me and Rose, got the bath ready to get in, let's hope it takes the chill away then might see what materials I have to make something for the fall swap and play with it off and on this weekend.

My goal tomorrow is get all my fall pieces out and decorate inside/outside.

Crissy, think you'd do great as well, include me in with the girls..love to hear what you'd have to say! Am sure it would be better than Julie (fortune teller) trying to marry me off..do you all think I need a man in my life, most of you all know me better than most people I know here..lol

Be back after..bath getting cold, want to comment on your posts!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

i think you would feel comfy with a man only if he loved doing all the things you do! If not I think you will be happy to enjoy your freedom.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Crissy I' love to have you do mine too!!!!
Betty- I think you are happy just as you are right now. I think if the right one came along you might entertain the idea but I think you would take forever to make up your mind!!!!

Glenview, IL

Hi..

Ohh, me too Crissy, sounds like a fun thing to do.

Awe Betty, bummer about Meaford, but hope you had fun day anyway...Yikes on the teller!

Thank you everyone on my quilt..LOL, still have to finish it up, just quilting the middle and then finish the edges...

Wow, Debbie How was Homecoming?? Woohoo, GBS won, 55-0!! Jake got a serious repromand about something in 1st Quarter, Came back right away...2nd q got a Sac and a couple of tackles, They even announced his name! The team did great and Spirits were raring on all the teams...Even though it was a very cold and windy day, even sprinkled on us a couple of times...OMG, Julia Had to catch me, wind almost blew me over, hahah!! We stayed to half time to watch the Band, they did awesome too! Was a great practice for tomorrow, One of the biggest Competitions, so wishing them luck...Then when we Got back, We all jumped on the house, everyone doing something! LOL, house looks good enough to have company. None coming so maybe it will stay clean...Well Jacob got ready for Homecoming night.
LOL, he was so cute, asked me to come and smell him, Yay, he put just the right amount of cologne on, usually he baths in the stuff.

Breenie was in a cooking mode, We had breakfast for dinner! I didn't mind since i wasn't cooking...
So off we went to take pics at his dates house. She is a real beauty and has a bubbly personality...Her mom was also very friendly, I could tell she really likes Jake too.

After I dropped him off, I decided to stop in and visit one of my co-workers. i was glad she was home and didn't mind my surprise visits, I was literally 3 blocks close to her, We had a wonderful visit.

Now Kids are watching The Blind Side and we are having a nice little fire...

Guess I'll work on quilt for a bit.

Oh Judy, what an adorable picture! They are so cute together! The Blind Side was a great movie! First one I actually sat all the way through in awhile.

Our "Homecoming" game, is soccer. Our school is too small to have football team. Next year, that will probably change as our school will be merging with another school. So glad my DS is graduating this year because of that! He is at the dance now, so I should get an update on everything at 10:30 or so.

Betty, glad you had a good day. I am excited to see what you picked up for the swap. I am still working on mine, and what I had in mind...she already has! So, now I start again. I have some ideas rolling around.

About 4:30, I got so cold and couldn't warm up, went up to get a blanket and ended up crawling in bed with Huck and snuggling, fell asleep! DH woke me up at 6:30! I am ready for bed again.

Sure wish we would hear from Tubby and Shirley

Bev, how are you doing? I so hope and pray that you can stop smoking. I understand all the stress....was going to say every time you feel the urge to plant a bulb...but know you could be outside all the time!

I need to plant some I have here...and it wont' stop raining so I can get out.

Crissy, I am liking the "reading". Mine was pretty spot on!

Needing a
small smakeral of a snack here.....before the kitten delets my post!

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello To All !

Will go "Backwards" and reply...

Deb - you're doing good if you get an update at 10:30p.... I never knew anything going on at school, dances, etc... unless the girls were attending. (Then I got more Info than I ever wanted) LOL. My "visual" last year was of me marching across the graduation platform... dragging DS by the HAIR...... LOL.... That's literally how it felt....

The Blind Side was great... I cried of course... Judy - That's a Great picture! He is definitely a football player ! I am so proud for you that they announced his name !

Crissy - that sounds like fun! If folks don't mind... then can you post the results? I was going to say to 'save' it for a get-together (although that might be years). I have a set of "Russian Gypsy Fortune Telling Cards". When I was single we'd do them... Girls only... at the house drinking wine or something... They really were amazing... but then we were probably reading into the result... can be ambiguous. Something we can all do for fun when you all come visit me in Louisiana in Betty's Camper! LOL

Betty - You remind me SO much of my Mom... (you KNOW that's a good thing in my case!) She definitely did not need a man.... And like her... If you do find one... he BETTER be special... VERY special... because he's gonna have to pass ALL Of our tests on here ROFLOL! I don't think your life is boring... quite the opposite...

ROFLOL - So Rose went out on the town. I am the same....difficult to get to sleep when the chickens aren't all in the nest and accounted for....
LOVE KFC - original recipe !

Debbie How did the haircut do? WAVING TO Stacey & LK !

Stacey - SO funny about Jonathan. Seem to remember DS pee-ing on the Dr. during delivery... She laughed..... wonder if that is common.... We mailed about 60 invites...but knew some could not make it... some folks are elderly...can't travel...etc. SO we were expecting 60-75 to attend and that looks like what we'll have....

I'll touch base in a bit... Don't want to leave out anyone. (((WAVING)))

Mary

Lyndonville, NY

Mary, he did a great job on the hair, and I really like it. He took a lot of the "bulk" out but left the length. I had some frizzy perm in there and it needed work! He left enough that with some curling gel, I have a good wave left and it doesn't hang straight.

Our dances here, they start at 7:00...and are out at 10:00, unless it is the Prom. Those are 5:30 to 11:00 (they include dinner, dancing, Court). DS was home by 10:10.....it was "boring". lol

I have had a long week....going to go crawl in my beddy bye!

Good night! Sweet dreams!

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

Debbie - SEND some of that "bulk" over here... I am battling thinning hair LOL!

Yes - With the boys the dances were always 'boring'... they are really for the "Girls"....

In fact... PLEASE all you northern folks .... SEND some RAIN Over here! Another drought week.....

I'm mad at DH... He "CANT" go with me supposedly. I am planning to go to my College homecoming. It is their 100 year anniversary.... University of Southern Mississippi.

I was on the Dance Team and I plan to dance on the field with all the other old ladies....at Half Time at the Football game ! LOL!

This is next weekend.... (The weekend before the 50th party). I hope I GO GO GO ! nothing should stand in my way... Betty you and the others are going to be an inspiration to me... that no matter if DH or anyone can go with me... this is something I don't want to miss ! I can go by MYSELF and have a wonderful time.... RIGHT !!!

Here is a pic of the only time I've gone... the "Ladies of the Eighties" (I was a 1986 grad)..... This picture was in 2006.....a few years and a few pounds ago......

Hugs,
Mary

Baton Rouge, LA

Hello Barefoot ! THANK you for your encouragement! At this point... he knows I will go without him.....I have already made the hotel ressie.... Not sure about the hotel....may be a "seedy" location LOL... we will see... they were running out of rooms in the town by the time I committed.... OF COURSE I was late in getting the room because I was trying to see if DH would come with me.... I am on the far Right...

Hugs,
Mary

well I hope you go, and have a great time! and hope it is not to seedy of a place!!!

Verona, ON

Morning everyone!
Hoping for a nice sunny day with NO wind today. My goodness the wind has been terrible these last 2 weeks. This is the first time since we built the house in 01 that you could hear the wind whistling through the house from the lake. Our wee little lake had white caps. DOesn't take much to get us excited here in the boonies does it?
Crissy my mind is drawing a blank here - is your soil clay or is it just hard from no rain? I have the opposite problem the soil needs to dry out before I plant bulbs or they will rot.
Mary I hope you will stick to your guns and go to your Homecoming.Loved the pic - you all still have gorgeous smiles. What a wonderful DIL you are! Have you decided to go with the band? I think that the number you are expecting is just the right size - everybody will be able to visit and not be overwhelmed by the crowd. At my parents 50 th my DB and SIL had this huge extravaganza for my parents. After the "Tea Social" in the afternoon at their church my parents were whipped but oh no there had to be a sitdown dinner for 140 at the church hall too. LOL at the image of you dragging DS across the stage at graduation, there were a couple of students I surely wanted to do that with.
Betty I am so sorry that Meaford was a bust for you. I fear that things are getting 'stale' on the craft show circuit. If I am not working it I can cover One of a Kind in half a day - and that's their huge Christmas Show. Was there a lady in the Arena, (she would be on the outside wall )who had nuns with cute costumes and sayings on them? We were side by each for many years, she is a retired teacher as well.
Debbie I always have said that if I had kids I would want boys rather than girls but after listening to you and Mary I am not so sure. I still contend if I had a daughter I would lock her in a closet until she was 21.lol If she did half the things I did as a teen I would kill her.
Judy you must have been a very proud momma! Way to go Jake!!!Where is the band competing?
Trying to think of a chore to do right now that is quiet so I don't wake up DH. Naw can't think of a thing - guess I will just read. If the good fairy didn't come last night to clean up my kitchen I am sure she won't be here this morning but I can be very noisey doing that job.
Waiting for today's update on Jonathan.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Mary, not sure if you're far right front or back, but either way, you're a knockout!

Crissy, I'd love for you to do mine too!

Betty, sounds like you're feeling better...so glad.

So...yesterday was the JDRF Walk for a Cure at Five Rivers Metropark in Dayton. Bertie went with me this year. It's a 5k walk and Jordyn had over 120 people walking for her. They bought yellow t-shirts for all the walkers. (My DD and her DH did, I mean) I'd say she had the most walking for her. Too bad that all that walked didn't raise money...that would have been awesome. I raised $115 (Jordyn and I both thank you!!), so that qualifies for a free walk t-shirt. I always give my shirt to Jordyn. Anyway, it was really nice for walking, weather wise. Sunny and cool. We got a little bit of rain yesterday as well. It rained gently for quite a while. Haven't been out to check the gauge.

Yesterday was our 30th anniversary. I fixed steak, teriyaki rice and salad for dinner. Even splurged and got a pumpkin creme cake. Yum...anyway, it was a nice quiet celebration. Think we're going to breakfast today. We haven't been out for breakfast in months! We would have gone yesterday, but the walk made that impossible.

Bill fixed my car. He had to replace the bearings and it's so nice to have my car back without it growling at me any more!

Have a blessed Sunday all!

Judy-no wonder the wind almost blew you over-you are a tiny wisp of a thing!!LOL Such a great pic of Jake and his date and boy is he a handsome young man!!

Debbie-we have those-peepee teepees:) I will be using them religiously when he comes home;)

Mary-can't wait to see this years pic of you all!!! And I agree with Joyce-either of the ladies on the right are very pretty!!!

Betty-that sucks that Meaford was a bust since you were so looking forward to it:)

Crissy-waving my hand over here-since you did one for everyone else, I want one too:)

LK-I had a heart murmur when I was born and it went away when I was still a kid-didn't have it by the time I went to school..

OK Dianne & Debbie-here ya go-
Copied and pasted:
Jonathan did really good yesterday!! Called the nurse in the am to see hos he did the rest of the day on Fri and and early Sat am-he took 100% of all his feeds by bottle and scored 3 (the highest score, they go 1-3) on 5 of the feeds and 2 on 3 of them. The 2's were because 2X he took over 20 mins to feed, 25 for 1 and 30 for the other, and the 3rd 2 was because he had 2 alarms as he fed. Him having a couple of feeds that take too long will not keep him from coming home-alarms will though. He gained another oz, so he is now at 6lbs, 10.5oz. He took all of both of his feeds I did in under 15mins and no alarms, so we had success. For the 2nd feed I gave him 1/2 his bottle B4 his bath and the other 1/2 afterwards. He was not happy about the bath, but not as bad as last time. I took in our tub that Judy and LK got us and put the little hammock thing in it for newborns. I must not have had it tight enough because he kept sliding down until his head was almost at the place where his butt was supposed to be;)LOL I got some moisturizing baby wash because the hospital is dry and his skin has been dry. It was oatmeal and vanilla. I went to squeeze some on the cloth and realized it had a seal. There wasn't a little tab to get it off, so I used my teeth to get it off and got some in my mouth-YUCK-took me about 4 hrs to get the taste out and didn't have time to do much about it when it happened since he was so unhappy. The nurse took a pic of him in the tub (with me in it-not flattering) and then I took a pic of just the nekked baby and as soon as I snapped the pic he started peeing!!LOL He must have shot it about 2' and got his towel, his outift, the counter and the top of a cart that had drawers in it-we started cracking up. He didn't get himself though, so I just rinsed his winkie and got him out of the tub onto a clean towel. It is always kinda chilly in the rooms there so he was shivering by the time I got his diaper on, got lotion all over him and got him dressed-poor Little Buddy:( I fed him the rest of his bottle and got a huge burp out of him and when I went to reposition him, he spit up and it happened to be aimed just right so it went down my shirt, between my boobs and pooled in the middle part of my bra!!LOL I swear-what aim he has with his bodily functions!!LOL We put him back in his crib after that, covered him with a couple extra blankets and put a hat on his little head to try and get him warmed back up and back to sleep. As long as he keeps up his feeds, the only thing we have to worry about are the alarms B4 he can come home. My mom is coming on Wed and Chris put in for his weeks vacation that starts on Wed as well...so we are really hoping he can come home by this next Fri at the latest....if you pray, please do so and if not, please cross your fingers...

I posted a pic of he and I in his bath, but figured the nekked baby photo might not be appropriate, but if you want to see the most recent pics, I uploaded them into Picassa:
