Stacey I would do the message therapy. It helps with muscle tone and gas. It is a mini workout for baby. Betty go to school and give them what for it is against the law to reveal medical conditions and it is just plain stupid for the vp to say that on a bus of kids. I missed it what grade is he in? Well I think we are in for some sunshine today. May help dry-up some of this water. A great day to all. Look at the sky when it is still dark in the am the stars are just amazing...........
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!
Oh
Betty...I agree with Dianne...I was just going to say you need to go to his superior....he needs to be dressed down for that! (((Betty))) (((Kyle)))
Some sweet angel paid for my sub. for a couple months so I'm still here.
If you're here, Angel...thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Off to walk the kingdom...
Love you!
Oh My Gosh! Betty, Shaking my head at that VP, What an idiot. I agree also, I'd be going to the school too.
Man, i just hate, Bullies...Big Arm Wraps to you and Kyle.
I hope this whole situation gets taken care of.
Betty has not posted yet, so maybe she is at the school?
Morning everyone!
Here I am, Greg worked late last night, new telephone system so thought before I go blow off steam with Vice-Principal I'd check out what Kyle told me. Greg said both he and Melanie are dealing with the issue. The Vice Principal admitted he said that 'Kyle' had special needs to these students and that the bullying should stop! of course these kids would take it to mean he's mentally challenged, WHICH HE IS NOT!!! thanks Crissy for your kind words, he'd the kindest child, always thinking of others..drats, better calm down..
Must have had a physical fight with the Vice Principal in my dreams/nightmares, my face, lip is all scratched..lol..was a doozer, hope he got the worse of it.
So will wait patiently to see what the outcome is..
Making matters worse, Marilyn who is his bus driver knows the family and was off for awhile, not knowing what happened but seeing Kyle so upset she thought it might be better for him to be in the front seat away from the thugs (I'm sure they really aren't and are just behaving poorly) so that make Kyle even more upset as he feels he's not allowed to be with the others and is different...can't win..
I thank you all for your kind words, means a lot to me!
It's a chilly morning, real fall day, 55 degrees...
Time for Tim Horton's coffee
Wow, Betty! You're warmer than we are at 47*! Only calling for a high of 63 today.
Exercise classes are canceled this week as our instructor is in Canada on vacation. So think a few of us are going walking a couple times this week.
I've got to get out and bring my Australian Tree Fern in....it's not supposed to be out in anything less than 55* and we're in the mid 40's at night now, sometimes lower....I have other stuff that needs to come in, too, but it would upset me the most if I lost that fern!
We've much the same weather right now, high of 61 this aft. not much difference in weather, would have thought seeing you are further south it would be hotter..
Looked around the yard last night after the frost we had to see what I should take in, just a mother geranium that grows all winter long, rest can fend for themselves..
Where was the Australian Fern? near the pond..have to check what it looks like.
After spending almost all your waking hours outside spring/summer/fall Joyce, what do you do to occupy your time in the winter? just rest?
Girls keep asking me about teaching line dancing on Thurs. night but just can't make up my mind, although I should because I sure am in need of some type of fitness program
I am so upset for Kyle. One thing that I have always wanted to impart on any children I had was that they must have the strength of mind and character to stand up for those who can't or won't stand up for themselves and those that need the support. I would be MORTIFIED if one of the bullies was my child!! Are Greg and Mel familiar with any of the parents of the kids on the bus, but especially the bullies?? Do these kids know that the definition of the word retarded is simply to be lacking of, so the same as deprivation? Using the word retard is an adjective that must accompany a noun to have any real meaning. For example "with getting up in the middle of the night for pumping, and soon for the baby, I am retarded of sleep." A little side story--a few yrs ago when I was a server I was talking to another server and said that I had a retarded memory that day. A lady at a nearby table overheard and began to chastise me for it. I let her finish and then told her that is she had 1/2 of the intelligence that she thought she did, then she would know the definition and know that I was using it correctly while she was using it in a slang manner that was grammatically incorrect. She didn't have much to say after that. Betty-Kyle has such a good kind heart and does so much good that is unselfish, that those children should be ashamed of themselves for being such lazy little turds. If I was Greg and Mel I would be raising heck, but in a manner that didn't seem out of control so that they would be heard and taken seriously. I would also mention that if the school couldn't get things under control that coupled with what the VP did, there may be grounds for a lawsuit. Bullying needs to be taken as seriously as fighting and the same repercussions should be in place for each.
OK, so on to my personal peed off issue from yesterday which I presented in a rational and reasonable manner while making sure that I was heard.
Copied and pasted:
I must have jinxed myself yesterday by saying the day B4 was uneventful, because yesterday was FULL of drama!! First of all, Jonathan is up to 6lbs, 12.25oz. Every am I call after the nurses get done feeding their babies to see how his previous 24 had been. What he took by bottle each time, what his score was and if he had any alarms. I called yesterday and had a nurse I had never had B4. I asked her to go over the feeds and when she did, she told me that the night nurse put his feeding tube back in because he didn't take 10ml at his 3am feed. I said I didn't understand the necessity for such a small amount and the fact that he hadn't needed it since 6am on Friday. I then asked to finish going over his feeds. She got very defensive and said that if I didn't believe what she was saying, then I could come in and look at the paperwork myself. I told her that I called every am and asked these same ?? from every nurse, so I wasn't targeting her for anything. She continued to be snippy with me for the remainder of the conversation. I was a little upset about the 1 feed she did too-she said he only took 20ml for her and I thought that was fishy since he had not taken less than the 40ml for anyone else since Fri and had often taken more than his 50ml. I did not ?? her about this, just kept the ?? in the back of my mind. When I got off the phone I was livid!! 1st of all for her to act that way toward me-I have the right to call and ask any ?? I want in regards to my son's care without getting attitude on the other end of the line. 2nd-his Drs orders were for ad lib feeds meaning that if he took a little less in a feed, that was fine, if he wanted more to eat, that was fine and his orders were for feeding every 3-4 hrs and to only reinsert tube is necessary. For the night nurse to stick it back down his throat for 10 measly ml peed me off!! By the time I got to the hospital I was fit to be tied. I asked to speak to the nursing supervisor as well as my Dr. I told the supervisor that I would like to not have the nurse for the rest of the day and did not ever want to have her again. After she listened to what I told her (she was our nurse a couple of times, so she knew me) she agreed that the night nurse should not have done the tube and that the day nurse had no right to act the way she did on the phone. She replaced the day nurse and I ended up with one that I really like-my fave actually. Then when the Dr came, she joined him in my room and we all talked. I told the Dr that one of my concerns was the fact that by their rules, he had to be on the bottle 100% for 48hrs and now the stupid (I didn't call her that to them, just in my mind) night nurse has set us back 2 days. He said that he wouldn't hold that against Jonathan and that he would be looking to see his daily consumption by bottle instead of his individual feeds. He then wrote up an order for no tubing and reassured me that taking him home by the end of the week still looked good if things stayed on par. We talked about a few other things to make sure we were all on the same page. I was much calmer by the time he and the supervisor left the room. When I went into his room at noon, he was getting his pictures taken and that took a little bit, so by the time she was done, he cried all the way through his diaper change and redressing until I had his bottle ready and sat down to feed him. Hopefully his pics will be on the net tomorrow so I can link it for you-one in particular was super adorable!! He has a blue and a green and yellow dragon in his room so she laid him down on a white sheet and he just had on his diaper. He had a sheet for the background and it was draped over his waist and the way she arranged him looks like he is hugging his 2 dragons-soooo cute!!! From noon yesterday to 9am this am (his 8 feeds) he scored all 3's except 2-2's. He had 3 feeds he only took 45 ml and 1 he took 40 ml, but he made up for it by taking 60ml for 3 feeds, so he was up 5ml for his daily intake. He again had no alarms, so all is good right now:) Our Dr works again tomorrow, so we are hoping he will tell us when we can take him home:)
OMG Stacey I can just see my little Fairy turning into a dragonlady, and you've every right to be. Poor Jonathan, no reason to put that tube back in when as you say his feeding all equal out. Let's hope he comes home in the next few days and you can put that chapter to bed..he'll thrive when home with you.
Ann came over and no we didn't win the $$$ on t.v. bingo but had a nice chat. Ann still isn't feeling the best, not sure that she should be havingg 34 people over for Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday but she assures me that it's pot luck and she's only in charge of turkey and potatoes..
Rose got something in her eye at work today, it's read and sore, I wanted to take her to the hospital but she said she put drops in her eye, will put hot pad on it and will go tomorrow morning if it's not better.
Tired tonight, think it's because it gets so dark so early, I'm chilled, think I'll turn the heat on my mattress pad and be toasty all night long.
Dianne, this photo is for you...did pick up your apples, 1/2 eaten already, should have shared with you right?
Wow - This has been quite a week for all....
We Mommas got to take care of our babies! ((HUGS)) Betty and Stacey....
I'll brb...
Mary
Morning everyone!
Dentist trip yesterday was not a fun one! I have to go back and have the gum cut back around the tooth that exploded and Doc did the root canal in. That has to be done before he can take the mould for a cap.
Weather Liars are at it again, now we have 2 straight days of rain. We put off doing some outside chores because the long range forecast was so good. Grrr, should have known.
Thanks for the pic Betty. Those Honey Crisp are good aren't they?Had a couple of emails from exhibitors at Meaford and they said sales were just so-so.Sure hope the Christmas sales pick up for them.
Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today.
Dianne
Good morning to all. The weather is 62 and raining again. Insurance people not coming until next Saturday so much damage in the area they are overwelmed. Me I just want my sewing room back. And yes we get honeycrisp apples down here and they are my most favorite. Have a great day to all and hugs all the way around........
Rain??? It's been beautiful here all week, today they say it will cloud over but no rain AND our Thanksgiving weekend will be filled with sunshine; best I not boast about that or I'll get your rain.
Dianne, you've got me pepped up to go to the One of a Kind show..lol.. sorry about the tooth, just hearing about dentists make me cringe, think I'm almost glad I have plates! Guess they really have to watch how they approach giving you treatment.
Laura, maybe the good Lord is telling you to wait for repairs because more rain is sure to do more damage. Can you move you sewing machine upstairs temporarily? I bought a lovely Christmas Quilt book yesterday, am doing placemats for a swap and fell in love with one of their patterns, checked my stash and don't quite have enough of one thing to do them so will pick up what I need on the 16th at Joann's.
Sooo dark outside, almost feels as though it's middle of the night, off to get dressed and out of here, need to do some banking and in Barrie they open at 8am so I beat the noon hour rush.
Gab later
Betty, I can't believe you have had nice weather all week. We have had rain for about a week straight! And when not raining very overcast and cold! I can handle cold if the sun is out.
Not much to report from this end of the world except I am still running in circles. Ya'll knew that anyway.
Hugs to my Bev and Scotty.....and TUBBY...who needs to give us some smiles.
Debbie
Are you going to Rochester or Buffalo Betty?
Betty-LOL-I guess I was a bot of a dragonlady;) I just think that the tube would not be pleasant to have put in and I hate the fact that he was unnecessary pain:(
Copied and Pasted:
Yesterday went really well. Jonathan ate 65ml's for his noon feed and 55 for his 3pm feed:) He is doing great and it looks like today or tomorrow will be his coming home date. It is funny-my mom is driving today (left her house at 6am and will be here between 4-6pm) and she has been saying for the last 3 weeks that he was going to wait until grandma got here to come home so he wasn't stuck with a clueless mommy and daddy by himself;) I guess she had it right all along-LOLHe is up to 6lbs, 14oz and he got a bath yesterday-I did learn that if I lean close to him, he is calmer in the bath-yesterday he fisted my shirt to like hold him to me while I washed him:) Little cutie that he is. I went out and got donuts for the nurses and am taking in the left over candy from my 2nd baby shower in for a few special nurses:) His pics that the hospital took are online if anyone wants to look at them, just send me an email at Fairy1004@gmail.com. I truly wish we had enough $$ to get everyone one, but they are a little pricey. I had even thought about getting the CD that comes with the copyright relinquishment, but that is even $100!! As it is we will be able to afford a couple of pics for us, but if family wants them, they will have to pay for their own...:(
Will be going to meet up with Debbie this time just outside of Buffalo, hopefully doing the Sunday breakfast at CrackerBarrel, got some pretties for her, best I give them AFTER breakfast because I just know she'll shed a tear or 2...
What have you been up to Barb, still sewing??
Bought a lovely Christmas Quilt magazine yesterday, may have mentioned it, fell in love with the placemats and table runner, while I'm making it for my swap buddy I might as well make me a set as well!
Debbie, no doubt you are running in circles, I'd be worried if you weren't!
It's 52 here at the moment, a few drops of rain, doesn't look like much..sunshine for Thurs.Frid.Sat.Sun but rain holiday Monday..with everyone coming on Saturday I really should do Thanksgiving early in the day so we might be able to eat outside. Must check the availability of all..
Any news on Jonathan coming home before the weekend Stacey? When I look back on my children's photo's best ones were taken at about 6 months old, when they could hold their heads high, smile etc.
Great poses!
Betty-it is looking like today or tomorrow:)
YYYAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!! You'll finally have him home and will be able to quit going to the hospital every day. That is great great great news!!
So happy that Jonathan is doing so good....bet your Mom is so excited! I know I would be!
Betty, forgot to tell you where the Australian Tree Fern is...it's the one in the big blue planter in the shade/hosta garden. I still don't have it in yet, but they're calling for 70's the rest of this week so I have some time. Some of the people in KY (ORVG folks) are talking about having spotty frost already. Not so here.
Tuesday I will be going to my first Hosta Society meeting. I talked Sue in to going too. I think we may try to go to the Hosta College they have every year in the Spring. This meeting is a carry-in, so should be fun.
Haven't been outside yet. Put a pot of vegetable soup on and I'm just now ready to head out. Hope you all have a great day!
Good morning.
I have read so much, now I've forgotten all that I wanted to say.
LOL, must be having one of those CRS moments!
Oh Mary, Wanted to say VaVa Voom , You are a knock out!!Oh my goodness pack your bags and go to the 80's thing...Should be lots of fun. How's the party planning going? It's this weekend if I remember correctly...I sure hope it is a great success!
Debbie, yikes, you think I am organized?!? ROFLOL, OK, I like to think i am of the Messy organized, When things get put in an orderly fashion, cant find anything. But I can tell ya what stack, box, or closet something is in!! LOL, A couple of weeks ago, Steve came and said I just you will know, but do we have any Carbon paper?? Hahah, Do they even make Carbon paper anymore?? anyway, jumped right up, searched in a file cabinet and presented him a pack of the paper, lol and we talk about being hoarders...I work probably on about 15 different things a day never could concentrate on just one project, or they tend to get boring, lol but then that's why nothing gets finished in a timely manner, I am the greatest procrastinator in the world, But when It's time, I will pull all nighters to finish if i have to.
Woohoo, Today going to get the Spiced Cinnamon paint for the cabinets in the kitchen...
Betty, You are right, I enjoy sewing, This whole Quilting has taken over any other kind of craft. I am determined to get it right! But, Now those have a deadline of Nov first on all, so, gotta keep at the sewing! Today, My plan is to finish the Christmas Block swap. Work on 2 yesterday, OH my goodness, ended up throwing the directions away and made up my own, LOLOL..But the blocks Did come out the same as in the picture. Really though, I have always enjoyed sewing and now I have to finish it in order to concentrate on the 4th Annual Christmas workshop! See,already thinking about other projects and haven't even finished these...But sewing machine will get put away for a while when the row blocks are done!
Crissy, Wow what can i say, Thank you for taking the time to Do the Horoscopes...Mine does fit me to the T and dotted I. Betty lol, Told Crissy if anyone wants to know me, I'll hand them the paper! Crissy, you have met me Did you think as you were doing it that it fits me? Just wondering...
Lets see Dianne, so sorry to hear about your tooth, Yikes sure hope it gets better fast...I hope your on antibiotics.
Thanks for asking about Jakes dance, Yes he had a wonderful time. Was glad when it was all done though, He was one Tired guy.
Ohh man Laura, hope that rain subside for you...Ialso hope you didn't loose too much stuff. Yep move your machine upstairs!
Stacey, Oh gosh, What a bummer with that nurse, no reason for her to act that way. I think you handle the situation perfectly, I don't think i'd a been calm enough, you did good mama. I was so glad you were able to talk with Doc and Nurse about it...Lets just pray Jonathan's feeding stay at the steady intake without the alarms...Come on Baby, time to go home...
Waiving Hiya Bev! how have you been feeling?
OMG, Yesterday was a gorgeous day, so after the blocks went and did some yard clean up, restocked my indoor firewood. Aaron happen to come over, so thought I'd try firing up the tiller...NO GO, What a major disappointment. Aaron, was deeply upset, worked on it for a couple of hours. it wants to turn just something. But He absolutely loved the Quilt, gave me a great big hug. Showed it to his mom the second he got in the car, lol yeppers, was spying from the kitchen window. he'll be back again to work on tiller some more, sigh...
Then Sabrina worked on some Transplants. Took some cutting of our Dusty Miller, we'll try keeping them going through winter. I'll have 12 plants for spring, One i will plan to do more cuttings in the spring.
And the biggest and Best news of all!!! Julia finally became a supervisor. Whew, That was a long wait. They didn't even give her a notice, had her start immediately. She is the new hire Training Supervisor! But the nice thing is, she already purchased a few pieces the proper attire back when she past the test. Now she does need new boots again, lol Birthday's coming up!! And, yikes She and Alissa and Anthony are talking of getting an apartment together...My baby, has done growed up on me!
Oh my gosh look at the time! I got to fly, getting an ooil change and washed the nasty vehicle, lol...
Hope you all enjoy the day.
(((Babe))) I love you so much...you're always so cheerful!
Judy, I am sitting here laughing.
I guess I am of the messy organized also. I have this issue though. I start a project....a bird flies by the window....and I forget what I am doing and onto another....until I see a shiney object....and forget what I am doing....and then the phone rings....and....it just goes on, until I have 15 projects and none of them get finished! It amazes me I can sit and read a book non-stop though. lol
I actually have two huge totes to go through that are hidden in the closet from when my girls had the cleaning spree when I was in Florida. My "projects and piles" they didn't know what to do with....and now....I can't find anything, like you say!
Debbie
HE IS COMING HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got a call from his nurse and she told me that he took his 9am bottle well and I thought it was odd she would call me for that, then she said "Jonathan and I had a talk and he told me that he is ready to blow this popsicle stand today." I got so excited and made sure I understood what she was saying by asking if he gets to come home today. She said the Dr had come by and released him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will go pick him up in a little bit!! I am so excited/joyful/nervous and about a thousand other emotions!!!
YES!!!!! HAPPY DANCE ALL OVER THE ROOM!
Well woman, get dressed and go get your son!
Debbie
I'm not yelling, just want to make sure everyone sees that THAT'S NOT THE HOROSCOPE! That is just a rundown of your basic personality from you Sun Sign. The Horoscope will tell you what to expect during your life, what's going to happen, what's not going to happen, and so on. Now we'll start getting into the guts of it all.
Stacey I can feel your excitement all the way down here!!!! Happy Happy Happy Happy day, with many many many more to come!!
Debbie wasn't all of that in your sun sign? LOL
Baby Jonathan is coming home that is to awesome. Happy dance here also.............
Oh YAY!!! Hugs for all the Combest Family!!!! YAY!!!
Crissy, I told you it was dead on for me! Nailed it right down
OH My Gosh, Yippeee and Horrayyy!!
Go get him! Wonderful news Stacey...
Crissy, OK...Sun Sign fits to the T, lol.
LOL, Debbie I hear that! Another big part of my problem is, i do a lot and I mean a lot of thinking. A thought comes to mind about something and it will consume everything. LOL, I always have to say to myself Stop thinking and just do it...
hehehe, you know they always say out of sight out of mind! Ahhh, another day another project!
LOL, had to giggle over your getting side tracked...Oh yah, for sure about the reading, I am the same, pick up a book and get totally lost, Nothing gets worked on until book is read cover to cover and heaven forbid if it's a series! My family hates when I read.
Awe, Sunshine, I love you right back!
LOL Debbie! I know you did :-)
I'm doing a happy dance too!!!
OMG Stacey, I'm just too excited for both you and Chris..so when will your mom be arriving..nothing like walking through the front door with a child in hand, even better than being carried over a threshold!
What a wonderful time for you..
Judy you are such a ball of fire, like Joyce, sending hugs your way!
As for part 1 of what Crissy did to date I'm shaking my head, that person sounds lovely..lol
Debbie get those bags out, get that passport and cross the border, we can finish them all up in no time
Whoooo Hoooo Stacey - happy dance here too. My goodness you must be so excited...... make sure we get to see pics of his first day at home. I am so happy for you and Chris.
Dianne
Thought I'd move us over...
Exciting to have a baby in the new room,
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1133500/
Stacey that is great news! Now you will be a whole family for sure!
OK...Now you all no how Nosey i am!!
Want to trade your sun signs? I'll send you mine if you send me yours...
Betty, When are you going to Buffalo?? Thought this weekend was your Thanksgiving...Hugging you up too, and you share that with Debbie when you see her, pouting, i am so jealous.
Oh gosh, forgot to tell you, We are all going to the Cottage this weekend. We are hosting the Ghost
feast for Bear...My Brother said we aren't suppose to have one every year, so i said well thats ok we will have a feast anyway!
My gosh, we haven't all gotten together in a couple years sooo come on down and lets just play!
He's been sick so not sure if he'll make it. But my other brother and family is coming. Nephew & family, BIL and Niece and Family.
The weekend is so suppose to be excellent weather wise...
Judy, congrats on the postition for your daughter. I bet she is so happy!
Just wait, they are growing up, and next step is marriage, and or kids!!! How does Grandma Judy sound?
Drats, telephone rang and I must not have pressed send..shaking my head here, you'd think I'd learn..
Was telling you and LindaKay that I'm anxious to get the placemats done early so sure need to get to Joann's for Christmas material.
Judy our Thanksgiving is this weekend, so boring here at work this morning that I got my grocery list done, if all goes well I'll get most of the shopping done tomorrow after work.
Think the reason I lost my last post was that I was gabbing to mom while I was typing..GRRRRR told me she wasn't sure she'd be coming Thanksgiving because my nephew Brian (same age as my boys) will be at the cottage with her, told her to bring him along, but she said no although Brian said he'd come, why? because he borrowed $5K from Jeff and never paid it back and because he didn't pay it back has never - Brian that is, talked to Jeff..so mom says to Brian 'how can you face Jeff, why would you ever go there and spoil his day' I almost choked, so openly said, 'it's none of your business mom, why would you ever say such a thing when he's trying to put his life together again' so she doesn't stop there, says, 'your brother Bernie, Mike and nephew Andrew
don't want to see or hear from him' ok, I said, 'are my boys called Bernie, Mike and Andrew? no??? then why are you speaking on the behalf!' got to tell you, famiilies are a handful at times especially when you are trying to get together, can't have this one, because that one would be angry, then not that one because, because because...just doesn't work for me!
Called Jeff and asked for his thoughts, proud of my boy, said 'mom, it's only money, I let that go a long time ago, not a word will be said and I'll be as charming as always if he comes to Thanksgiving' hmmm he must take after his dad right?
Judy, congratulations to Julie both on her being made a supervisor and on her potential move...Anthony sure is adorable, a keeper really; how wonderful that you get to be at the cottage for the Ghostfeast and spent it with family..won't be long the snow will be flying and you'll not get backup there until spring. Does Steve do the snowmobile thing? maybe he does go up on weekends to enjoy the trails.
Extra long day here, I've gone through my America Quilts for Christmas about 5 times, even thought I might take out photocopy paper and do a test on the block patterns before attempting it with material, now that is bored right?
LOL Betty, that's exactly why me and Dave do our own thing, even before I met Dave I did my own thing, usually had Thanksgiving dinner in the Lounge of my dad's favorite hotel because my dad wouldn't do the family bs either. Yes, I'm like my daddy.
I want a brownie.
