Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'll be at a conference tomorrow and Friday so won't be on until Friday night, maybe even Saturday morning but hope I don't have to wait that long. I want to get a mini computer so I can chat with y'all while the speakers are speaking, think I need to head over to a pawn shop LOL!

I'm ok, just busy busy busy getting prepared for the conference and yesterday I was SLAMMED!!!

Stacey poo on the doctor and that nurse, they really shouldn't switch it up like that, then put down that it's the baby's fault, I would have been furious too. BUT just like everyone else has said, at least he hasn't lost any weight, that's always good.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Here's what my husband Dave posted on Facebook yesterday:

Do not get upset when it takes us men awhile to respond on facebook, it is still a growing fad designed originally for gossipers but has grown to so much more. I believe its popularity will jump during the holidays.
His best friend Greg said, "Everyone should know you need patience when dealing with men."
Dave responded, "Christine and I were discussing why men do not bond with the use of facebook as much as women and it is a patience thing. Men want instant gratification and women are use to it taking longer."

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! That is funny!

Tubby where are you? Hope your not in the hospital, and are just having computer problems! We miss you! Post when you can.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I think he's still having computer problems, wish he was here... maybe he's lurking....

Not only did my 'morning everyone' post not go through but floating around in cyberspace but my 'afternoon everyone' post has gone to join it..drats, don't you just hate it!

Sat and chatted to everyone, gave an update as to what is happening in my neck of the woods and no go.

I did manage to sneak downstairs though to say 'hi' to everyone, got the dickens because I wasn't in bed, they had said though they'd not come today if I thought it would bother me, told them no, I can sleep through everything..

Meds are working, about 3pm yesterday afternoon, I couldn't stop shivering, I was sooo cold, fever was high and my back was aching due to infection..imagine, Ann came over for t.v. bingo and we placed my cards on a board to I could play and still lay down..no, after all of that we didn't win.

Barb, Ann/Mike had been to the Toronto specialist, they told him there are more growths, they are rapidly increasing, that they cannot cure him but will try 2 chemo treatments in hopes it slows things down but it's doubtful..however if it does work they'll try a few more. First time Ann when talking about Thanksgiving and Christmas made note that it might be Mike's last, my hear just goes out to her.

This morning she dropped in, had forgotten a few things last night, omg, she looked terrible, she said she got up during the night and was so sick to her tummy, I think nerves, so she went and sat on the toilet for her tummy to settle, said she doesn't know if she fell asleep or fainted but landed on her face on ceramic tile flooring..her nose is cut in several places, big bump on her head, going to be a nice blue color..I think she passed out myself, can't see her just falling asleep.

Usually she paints with the girls but today she wasn't up to it so just sat quietly, looking so sad..here she is in far corner

Betty-PLEASE make sure you are getting proper rest!! OMG-I LOVE those frogs!! I collect frogs and am so sad I wasn't there to make one myself!! *whispering*-if one of those ladies doesn't like hers, you know where I live;)LOL Poor Ann-I have fallen off the toilet B4 (or passed out), but never when I've been sober;)LOL She does look awfully tired, poor thing.

Judy-mom doesn't loose socks because she doesn't have very many and rarely wears them;) The woman lover her sandles:)

Copied and pasted:

Yesterday was an emotional day. I called the NICU in the am to see if Jonathan's feed schedule had been put back to the way it was or if it was still changed to later times. The nurse told me that he had some issues after we'd left the day B4 and they had to put the tube back in. They started doing every other feed by bottle and the interim feeds by the tube. When I got there, he didn't have a tube back in and when I asked why, she said she took it out so it wouldn't upset me. I didn't think much about it at the time. I fed him at noon and he took 40ml (in about 10mins) of his 50 and I am pretty sure he would have taken more, but he got the hiccups pretty badly and and feeding him through them usually causes breathing issues, so I stopped. He is up in weight to 6lbs, 7.5oz. Then he slept until 2 when he cried a little-changed his diaper and it was poopy, so that explained the crying. He was already rooting for a feeding, but I tried to get him to go back to sleep. I left the room for about 15 mins and walked around hoping that not having anyone in his room would allow him to fall back to sleep. When I came back he was still awake and since it was bath day, I got everything ready and got him undressed. I had just gotten him all wet when the nurse came in and asked if I had put him in the tub yet. After I said no, she showed me how to set it all up and I took off his diaper and put him in the water-he screamed bloody murder!!LOL I tried to sit him down and he wanted to stand, then I tried to let him stand and he wanted to sit, and it went on like this-the nurse helped me clean him real quick so I could get him out of the water and once he was out and covered up, he was happier. Got him all lotioned up and redressed and the nurse wanted to put the tube back in in case he had feeding issues. I stood out in the hall and he cried the whole time. Now, he isn't a cried and it is usually not real loud and is just a couple of squeaks (as we call them). For the tube he was wailing louder than with the bath-my heart broke while stood in the hall and waited. Then I thought, having a tube inserted down your throat 2X in one day must HURT!! That stupid nurse took it out in the am so I wouldn't be upset, hence causing him more pain. When I went back in I said something to that affect and let her know his comfort was infinitely more important than mine, so if the tube should be left in, then leave the darn thing in! When I saw him, his face was almost purple from the crying, he had tears running down his face and his eyes were a little swollen. I picked him up and told him I was sorry and it would be OK in a couple mins-he calmed right away and did the thing where you try to stop sobbing and your breath hitches-that was my mommy moment of the day that melted my heart. He was so hungry by that point he took about 12 ml in about 1.5 mins and wasn't breathing like he should. I took the bottle out of his mouth and he rooted for about a min B4 he passed right out from exhaustion. My poor boy was pooped and his poor little face looked so bad from the crying. I think that from now on when I give him a bath, 1st off I am going to take the tub from here and see if he likes that any better and 2nd I will feed him 1/2 the bottle B4 and the other 1/2 after-his awake time is limited after bath time. I also think I am going to take the towels from here and the washcloths-they are softer.

I saw my boss from Michaels when I went to the grocery store afterwards and we chatted for a few mins. He said I looked good and wondered where the baby was. I showed him a pic from my phone and told him he was still in NICU for a little longer. I wanted to ask how I could look good when I had cried so much that day!!LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Stacey, new mommies and especially those who have a child needing special care are ALLOWED to cry..very difficult to watch what they do with our loved ones. Tomorrow is Friday, your anniversary, does it still look as though Jonathan can come home? Couldn't ask for a better anniversary gift could you?

Had some catching up to do this morning and now I'm sitting with nothing to entertain me..brought a scratch board in with me, perhaps after my lunch I'll find a design and start scratching..lol

What are you all up to today..it's 63 here today, light breeze but omg calling for in the 40's for the weekend, such a drop in temps..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Betty, glad you taking it easy at work.
I have been going back and forth to the sewing machie, getting swaps done! Almost done with them! It is 87 here today, getting pretty warm, so I need to kick on the AC.

Victoria Harbour, ON

How many more swaps LindaKay can you have left..lol..
I plan on doing placemats and some work on the fall project swap on the long weekend..imagine not this Sat. but next I get to celebrate Thanksgiving with family!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, so glad your feeling better.

Yes, I did something I didn't want to do...and I was all worked up.

I had a mammogram. NOW, no thats not a big deal. BUT the last one I had an issue that was NOT very comfortable. My breasts were so sore for two weeks. AND, I had not been since Mom had been diagnosed and passed. So I had to work up to it. Everything went wonderful at the new place, very great staff....and comfortable. And the "girls" are all good.

I am still "doctoring" my Izzy. She will not be having surgery, we just can not afford it. So much to weigh in this decision, and my heart just feels like it is broken. I am doing everything to make sure she is comfortable....and right now, she isn't acting or showing....like she is in pain.

I have been driving in pouring rain, in Rochester, all day. And I am tired. So, going to go have some tea.....will be back in a bit.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Am glad Debbie that all went well with the mammogram..not fun things to have done but sure is necessary.Keep hearing you say you go to Rochester all the time, one of these border crossing times, going to meet you at your cut-off and we'll go to Rochester so I can see what it is like.

Not going to tell you I'm coming any weekend soon just incase that mom of mine changes her mind.

Have any of you been to fortune tellers lately??? this one apparently works for the police some times, should be interesting..so glad I get a tape otherwise 5 minutes after I go I forget all she said.

Then today the girls asked if I wanted to go to their mother's birthday party tomorrow night? Wilena my SIL..guess if I would have been at work all week I'd have gotten invited earlier..not sure what time I finish with the fortune teller so who knows if I can go..bought her a gift at lunch time so will get it together and give it to the girls tomorrow just in case I don't make it..too many things going on..need to be up at 8am for the big Meaford Scarecrow Festival, can't miss that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I am working on a row robin, inthe other room, and I am also working on the fall one your talking about. Then I joined one for decorated gourd also in the other room, so I am busy. Never done a gourd before!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Betty and all!!! Thank you so much for your prayers and concerns. My heart went back into shape but I still have the blockages and can't quit smoking. I feel so much better. HUGS BEV I am having terrible anxiety attacks tho.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Linda Kay you'll do well with the gourd as I've seen your painted rock..lordy, thought I was all caught up and here I am in about 5 more swaps..luckily my trip to Meaford might cover some of them!

Bev, you are bound to have anxiety attacks with all that's going on in your life, just maybe this isn't the best time for you to quit smoking!

Susan, got a package from you tonight, love the material, now to find a pattern to do it justice..thanks my dear, much appreciated.

Still needing update Tubby and Dianne..hate to think you both aren't well! Dianne, surely you are not still cleaning??? if you are and running out of rooms to put in order, I'll pick you up for the weekend, just think, you can join us in Meaford on your non-cleaning hours!

Is the weather hot enough for you to still get outside and enjoy or will you be housebound shortly?

Got the bi-weekly community paper tonight, need to catch up on news, well if there wasn't a photo of my family and a write up..I couldn't get the photo to take clearly but here's the write up...

"it was no surprise to see the Pauze family of Victoria Harbour among the thousands of participants at Midland's Terry Fox Marathon of Hope run on Sunday. From left, Kyle, Melanie, Greg and Noah Pauze. Kyle, with the help from his family, stages a bike-a-thon in Victoria Harbour each June to raise funds for cancer research"

Nice to see the family being active and doing good for humanity..proud of them!!

It's off to bed I go, need some meds, heat and a good nights' rest..

Hope you've had a great day!

Betty, that is a nice article about the family! You have to be proud of them?

It was 95 here today, still quite warm. We get down to about mid 60's at night, but it warms again about noon or so!

Lexington Park, MD

well i thought I would get some sewing done today. After sending am message went upstairs for coffee and returned to basement 20 min later to a pool in my house. It has been raining for 3 days here. Well after all the clean up and getting sump working again everything is in the middle of the room a mess. We got all the water out and insurance will be out tomorrow. Did I tell you this place is only 2 years old. I am so upset but to tired to cry. After pulling our carpet out went and helped lady across the street samething happened to her but she is on the east coast for work and asked if we could help her out .Poor thing is in for a mess when she gets back. Take care to all need to get some sleep.

Verona, ON

Evening/Morning!
Still raining here. Have been looking for Noah out on the lane.
We were without power for over 48 hours starting last Friday afternoon.Bell is still working on getting our phone fixed up - sometimes there is no dial tone, sometimes you can't call out but people can call in. Grrrrr. For both Hydro and Bell we are serviced from across the creek so it is a difficult and very damp job as often going into the creek is neccesary. So missed lots of your postings. Have read them all and it sounds like you all have been very busy.
Betty glad to hear you are feeling better - hope you have a blast in Meaford this weekend. That was 1 show I loved to do!
So Jake must of made his momma very proud at the last football game.Woo hoo on the win!
Oh Stacey soon you will have your little guy home. It must be very hard for you leaving him behind each day even though you know he is in the best possible place right now. Hugs for you!
OK I think our hydro woes are over for now (famous last words!)so plan to be here everyday and read everyones' news.
Sweet dreams
Dianne

Lyndonville, NY

Dianne, can I have a word with you darlin, STOP sending the rain over the lake! Dang woman, it has been raining OVER 36 hours here. This morning we have light sprinkles....but the last 3 days have been horrible. I have some puddles of water in the basement....thankfully they are following along the "washer" lines to the drain.

Today and tomorrow are Homecoming. Shane and his band are playing at the assembly, and I want to sneak in....but he said "PLEASE DON'T". I don't want to make him nervous and he screw up the performance. One of the other Moms, who also works at the school...said she would tape it for me.

Tonight I am having the girls all over, and doing our mini baby shower for Britt. I picked up a swing and a set of bottles for her....she had none! I can't believe she had a Shower last week, and no one got any bottles. Poor girl only got clothes, which is nice, and diapers/wipes. And this was her family. My girls enjoyed shopping....a little too much....so Britt has a good start with baby Kylie when she gets here.

Housse.....hopefully the weather changes and drys up for both of us. I don't know if you can blame Dianne over in MD for the rain. lol And welcome to DG, I am Debbie....I have four children (2 adult ones that are married) and two still at home age 17 and 19....and a stray child I picked up in May. We have the Noah's Ark house...with all the stay animals the kids brought home over the years....and Mom couldn't say no. A 14 year old bunny named Ben, an 8 year old Ferret named Kitty aka known as Sid, 5 adult cats....a new "saved" kitten from $^%, and a 86 lb dog with a very bad leg named Izzy. Oh yes, two naked cockatiels...and one cockatiel with feathers.

Glad to meet you!

Debbie

Housse-I had that problem 2 summers ago when DH was in Iowa training for work. It rained like 8" in one night and our sump died. Our basement in carpeted and has a ton of stuff down there-it is DH's man cave. SO I had to go next door and have neighbor help me to figure out what was wrong, go buy a new sump and have him install it. Then I had to call into work so I could get the steam cleaner out and suck up the water in the carpet-10hrs later I had it as sucked up as it was getting and turned on 4 fans to help it all dry. Had to pick things up (neighbor helped me with things like the TV and such) and put it all on the pool table. DH came back for his 2 days off and then had to cut the carpet in places to pull out all of the padding as it was all gross-what a mess....We didn't cal insurance since we really just needed the carpet replaced and with a $1000 deductible, it would ahve cost about that to replace the carpet....

Debbie-LOL with the Noah's ark house;)

Betty-sorry to say that no, he will not be coming home today-we are hoping maybe by next Friday though:) Today is our 9th anv, but just as last year, DH has to work 10-10 so I won't get to see him much, but oh well, so is life...

Copied and pasted:

Jonathan did great yesterday. He took 5 of his 8 feeds 100% by bottle with no issues and took about 1/2 of the other 3, they had to put the other 1/2 through the tube. He did have 1 alarm thought...so if he can keep this up and gradually up those other 3 feeds until they are whole ones, I think we will be in good shape. He also needs to not have any alarms. The alarms will sound if he stops breathing or his oxygen saturation in his blood goes down too far for more than 6seconds or if his heart rate drops suddenly. Those are issues that we do not want to bring home. If he has a feeding where he doesn't eat it all, that is something we can build up to at home-the alarm issues is not something we can work with at home really. It is just a maturity issue and a lot of babies in the 36-37 week age range seem to have something click so that these issues go away...we will just have to wait and see, but of course we are getting anxious especially since Chris still has to go for training and they are sending him to Minneapolis for a week, then Fargo for a week, then back to Minneapolis for another week and then to Indianapolis for the last week. With him going to colder places I don't want him driving in snowy weather and would feel better if he could start his training earlier rather than later.....I am having a slow down in my milk production so I am trying everything I know to get it to be more. I am ingesting more fluids, pumping longer and more often, and I stopped tacking my allergy meds-all things I read yesterday on the net to help....I don't understand what is going on and hope it corrects itself soon...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Whatever you gals do DON'T send the rain my way..had enough Monday/Tuesday..thanks goodness and I'd better thank the Lord, no water yet in my basement, am emptying the dehumidifier a few times a day though!

What in the world did you do without hydro? Nice for a few hours, keroseen lanterns, candles, ahhh the ambiance, then comes reality, anything you go to do, no go.

You poor dears, so much work when you have water in the basement. Think that's what made my mind up to paint my basement floors to look like inlaid rock, doesn't get damaged by dampness/water..few scatter matts and it looks pretty as can be; it's the drywall I worry about getting wet then have mold.

Tomorrow and Sunday are cold days here, in the low 40's but sunshine..great day for fall events and Dianne, I'll be thinking of you for sure when I'm in Meaford.Did the candle shop have the large tent set up with all kinds of gifts (not just candles) where you could purchase pretties between $5.00-$10.00 .. great boxes to have around the house come Christmas

Stacey, you and Chris have so much to be thankful for, you can put the anniversary celebration off to another weekend; you are so correct in saying Jonathan is better in hospital with these issues than coming home when not completely well..disheartning I'm sure but he's coming along so well.

Debbie, you do have enough furries/children for Noah's ark..

Feeling much better now that my fever is no longer..was thinking yesterday about how lucky I was that the nurse got me in to see the Dr. asap, thought had she not, I'd be complaining, so took the time to call her and thank her, told her I was feeling great, she told me to make sure I took every last pill, said I would..she thought it was great that someone actually took the time to call and say thanks.

Friday's are always quieter than most days so brought along some rag quilt blocks to fringe..imagine, paying over $400 for machine and dies to do exactly that then decide to do them by hand..

Left early this morning, sun was just rising, do you know the colors are so spectacular that I even had to open my eyes wider a few times from the brightness..I hope I remember to take my camera with me tomorrow as I can take photo's along the lakeside.

I see the clairevoyant (?) after work today, wonder what great news she'll tell me

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, she is going to tell you you are adopting an older daughter from NY! LOL

I just spent over 30 minutes on the phone with the school. My son is having major Senioritis! GRRRR!

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Debbie that's not good, he loves his music, could you use that to keep him on the straight and narrow...teens boys go through same issues I guess as the young gals, hopefully this is a stage, one he'll go through quickly.

No need to tell me I'll adopt a daughter from N.Y. - ALREADY did...
it's getting here here to Canada that seems to be the problem.

Poor Ann, just called her as she hasn't been feeling the best, think I told you she passed out and her face smashed the ceramic tile flooring? Mike is at Princess Marg' Cancer Hospital this morning getting a needle - pre chemo and he called home, she didn't want to tell him that she's so dizzy that she can't stand up, she started to cry, so wanted to leave work and go see her but another friend Cathy will be at her house in 1 hr. and she'll get her to hospital if she's not feeling better..me thinks it's high blood pressure although she said she's never had it, anxiety will do that, and this has all happened since they told Mike nothing they can do on Tuesday, also, she's been trying to join every type of exercise group she can to keep herself busy/busy as not to think and it could be a shock to her system..only guessing, she ought to get to the hospital..says she CANNOT get sick right now, Mike's the priority..hells/smells..he needs her well over the next few months..
Prayers for my friends please

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Naw Debbie-she is going to say "I see you taking a trip to the SE Michigan, NW Ohio area in the near future;)

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

I hope Ann feels better soon-she does need to see a Dr ASAP..

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I bet she has a slight concussion after that fall. That will set those things off, on top of all the stress also. That poor woman! And you are right....she needs to be taken care of so she can help Mike.

The music is what got DS in trouble. Its a long story, but I think it has all been taken care of. He is so very upset about Izzy and the cats also, which isn't helping. Not an excuse for his behavior, but I do understand his stresses.

Stacey, I will be coming to snuggle that baby! LOL I have relations in Michigan....not sure how far from you. They are in Pontiac. I have never been over there.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I got wheels Debbie and a bed for us..could always pick you up on my way to visit with Jonathan..lol

Glenview, IL

HI! Tadah...The top is done!
Going to JoAnnes this afternoon to see what i can find for the back side.
Crossing fingers, I got a 50% off coupon...Goal was to finish by today, so this is why I've not been visiting.

Betty So glad you are feeling Better. OH my gosh, so sorry to hear Ann fell.
I hope she does go to Doc.

LOLOL, Janice, Guess yur Pup couldn't resist home made bread!
Haha, Stacey on the sock thing.
...Oh, was upsetting to see what happened with Jonathan yesterday...Hang in there, sending you some hugs.

He is going to the dance with his girlfriend Melissa.
LOL, he said don't worry mom, only taking one girl this year!
Whew, two girls cost us a fortune last year.

Anyway...Dad teaching him how to tie a tie! Was definitely a Kodak moment.
OK, I'll be back, got to take Breenie back to school and hit JoAnns.
