Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will be praying for them .. Jaye and Kel must be overwhelmed..she's such a lovely lady, so enjoyed giving her a big hug when we met...it's in her nature to worry about all of God's creatures..

Thanks for your answer to the question Susan, will let you know the answer after I get a few more answers...

By the way Susan, you didn't answer my question as to how you made out camping with Bob and his friend Bob???? did they spoil you?

Lyndonville, NY

***Betty....because he would come back to the funeral home and she could see him?

So sorry to hear about Jayes family...so sad all at once.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Oh Debbie..lol...don't know if you want the answer..I answered like you but I said I thought he might be the undertaker so if she came back she'd see him..great minds think alike NOT...

Answer:

She was hoping the guy would appear at the funeral again.

If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famour Americanpsychologiest used to determine if one has the same mentality as a killer. many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly..If you didn't answer the question correctly, good for you...

Who says that psychologists are always right!!!

Lyndonville, NY

UMmmm, Betty...that is what I said...that he would come back to the funeral home

Should I really be admitting that after what it means?

Victoria Harbour, ON

About the same thing I said...lol

Are you getting this cold and wind Debbie? bet you've spent all afternoon playing with those kitties!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I was thinking the same thing, he would come back to the funeral home...

Susan, you said you had a small siesure? What kind? Glad it was a small one, what ever kind you had.

So sorry to hear about Kel's family and all the cancer. He just lost his Grandmother, his Father is going through treatments, and now his 3 Uncle's! Sending lots of prayers that way!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lots of tragedy for one family to deal with LindaKay. I had a friend and there were 6 sibblings, all died from cancer..you'd have to wonder if it was in the food they ate or in their genes..

Where did Susan post she has a seisure...I must have missed it, going bath to read through her recent posts..

Lyndonville, NY

Me, play with those dreadful little lintballs...ummm....no no noway, not me. (ahhhh busted)

We do have one....who has been one over by the kitties. It is hopeless love.

Betty, it is a bit chilly here...but the wind died down so far.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Scroll up, to where she posted at 12:53, then it says, FYI - had a seizure.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

OMG!!! That picture is DARLING!!!! How could you let that little kitty go now? It absolutely belongs to that DOG!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Tell Jaye (((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) Oh My Gosh that is a lot for a family to handle. Lots of prayers for them.

Susan are you prone to seizures? That's not good my dear.

Betty that's funny, I bet most people get that right, I know I did too, it's almost a no-brainer.

Debbie they match!! LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - didn't have both Bobs - one "begged off" (no, not MY DH) cuz he said maybe he wasn't "into" camping as much as we are..... And he had to be back to work on Tuesday. He's a renovator, and needed to be working on Tuesday am. We didn't Leave until Tuesday @ 3pm.
Yes, I had a small seizure on Saturday/Sunday. I was sleeping and woke up disoriented. Then I fell off the bed (19" high inflatable), and when Bob tried to pick me up, I had a seizure. He did the absolute most "right" thing and held me tightly, calming me down. We woke up to frigid temperatures, and we stayed in bed until 10am, then had breakfast at a restaurant (it was raining, so I wasn't cooking on a camp stove!!!). I'm much better now, but still get head-achey..... s'funny - I usually have a "pre-seizure" feeling, but I didn't, this time. Bob's being very solicitous and watching me carefully. I've had epilepsy since I was 12 yo, and usually spot one coming and take extra meds to deter it, successfully. My DH figures it's all the stuff that's been happening to us/me since March that's caught up with me, plus the cold temps over the weekend. I didn't sleep well every night while camping, and it was different circumstances than I usually live in....... Also, I banged my head on Aug 21, raised a big bump, and that may have been part of the trigger.
Anyway - don't worry about me, I'll be fine. Others have much more seizure activity than I do (I usually have one every 20 years or so LOL) and they get along just fine!
I'm taking some extra meds to see me past this, and being very gentle with myself.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I got the answer wrong!! Guess I'm not a "closet axe murderess" then LOL
Crissy - I'm Watching You!!! (but I MAY be a stalker LOL j/k)

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Meant to say before that cute picture made me forget.... Betty, Joan said you only need wait for 28 days (4 weeks). At the end of that you should put your container in some vinegar water and then rinse, rinse, rinse and it will be ready to go. I was surprised it was that quick, but she's been doing it for a LONG, LONG time, so I guess she would know!

Okay, went and got my sand...then went and got the big bag of perlite. I'm having trouble finding the 1/4 hardware cloth by the foot. Lowe's has a $14 pkg, but I only need two feet. Hmmmm...well, Ace hardware is supposed to have it. Just need to find one not too far away! Bertie says her hubby has a 2x4 for the frame of the sieve, so that will save a little $$. Then I'm ready to go! Oh, have to set the work station up. She used "pig panels" on saw horses. We just happen to have a piece of that "pig panel" thing so that's good. I've got to go shovel the sand out of the back of the pick-up. I'm going to put it straight in the litter buckets after I drill some holes in them. That's so when you wet the sand, the excess runs off. I only wanted half a bucket, but I guess he thought he was doing me a favor and gave me almost a whole bucket full....sigh...now I have to figure out where I'm going to put the extra!

(PS....sure glad I didn't think about the funeral home thing!)

edited because my English teacher would kill me if she saw that I used "sit" instead of "set"!!!

I copied this from Staceys post in the other room.

Well, we went in the hospital at about 3 am this AM-they are trying to slow labor to allow the steroids for lung development to take affect-could be another 12-36 hrs before Jonathan comes. Will update after, but will not be on much til then-just didn't want any to worry. Please copy to DG as my membership ran out today over there-LOL-what timing!! Chris had went to Minneapolis just yest and had to turn back around this am and drive back-poor guy

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Susan! You can stalk me from Calgary, it's ok! LOL LOL LOL LOL

I was wondering where Stacey was today and was hoping she was ok, I'm glad Chris got to go back to the hospital, poor guy.

Lyndonville, NY

OH MY Goodness, Stacey....I hope they can slow it down. The steroids usually work really well....willl be keeping you and Jonathon in my prayers. Safe delivery and healthy baby and mom!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Came to the computer with a bit of hesitation this morning, something is telling me Tubby is NOT doing well....Shirley know our thoughts and prayers are with you both..

Debbie, omg Izzy is just to precious for words..love the photo's..you have a way of capturing life as it happens, again, I doubt very much that those kitties will be leaving, you are just too attached already..sorry Paul!!!

LindaKay thanks for posting about Stacey, sure do hope everything is going ok for her and Jonathon, what a worry it must be with Chris having to be away for his job and having to drive back not knowing how both were doing...being in the hospital with all the high tech they have now days is the place to be...soon Stacey you'll be coming home with that little one! Hope somehow she's able to get us news.

Thanks Joyce for all your hints, I should try and see if I can print them off so I can follow them this weekend.. read about the vinegar bath, the article I read said it was better to have large tub/vat and sit the piece in for a few days..now these ladies will have to leave their project for how long in your yard? that is the hard part isn't it, not being able to take it home same day, at least it is for me, I do not have any patience..lol

Susan, glad you are feeling up to par, am sure as Bob said it's mostly got to do with all that's been going on with you lately! Although you have been coping like a trooper you got to know it hits you somewhere and the seizure was probably it. You poor dear, same weather as we had, not a good weekend for camping at all but from your post you made the best of it as usual..keep an eye out on pre-warnings.

Mary, how's the family, all back to school and healthy?

Crissy, you doing ok? Keep praying that Dave will shortly hear that he has the position he so wanted.

Was rather tired last night, had a hot bath and thought I'd cover myself up on the couch and watch t.v., within a half an hour I was sound asleep and didn't get up until after 11 to find my bed and fall into a deep sleep again...

Strange coming home to a human rather than furries at the end of the day. Rose said her immediate supervisor was away yesterday and that left her to fend for herself so she had a very boring day. Chatted for awhile, she's in 2nd year university and I said how young at 19 to have accomplished so much, she said 'I'm nearly 20 and don't want to say it, can't believe I'm that old' almost chocked but I laughed instead, omg, 20 and feeling old...in the conversation Christmas came up and I mentioned doing workshops, she asked me where I have them and when I said here she asked if she could join in, she loves crafts and would love to make her Xmas gifts..so there, I've got a willing convert to do crafts with..lol

Well, time to put another coat of finish on my rocks, get dressed and maybe leave a little early this morning just to enjoy the scenery..things change from day to day so always comething that is interesting.

See you at work

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Gosh it is in the 40's this morning. Can't believe only last week it was 90+...

Well, that's another nice thing I learned at Joan's. They'll be able to take them along with them as I got to bring mine home the same day, too. We made them on 14x14 boards and then we slipped them into big heavy plastic garbage bags. We are to leave them sit in the bags for 4 days (tomorrow) and then take them out and remove them from the board and "distress" them with a wire brush. So I will do that, and use it to show the girls on Monday how to distress as well so they can do that at home.

What recipe did you use for making your birdbath leaves?

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I just called Stacey and got an update. She is still in the hospital, but bored....they have given her stuff to hold off delivery and they're hoping that they can keep her from delivering before 7:00 am tomorrow. So it's a waiting game right now.

Her water broke about 2:00 am yesterday morning. That's why she went to the hospital. She's not having much pain or many contractions.

Chris did make it back and he was so tired...she felt so bad for him.

They finally let her eat last night and she said until that happened she had been in a really, really bad mood, but Chris got her some food and then she felt better.

She said there probably won't be any news until sometime tomorrow morning or so.

I got Janice's phone number so we can check up on her if we don't hear anything for a while...

Just an FYI!!!

Glenview, IL

OMG WHAT NEWS THIS MORNING!!!

Linda Kay and Joyce, Thanks so much for letting us all know...Will be watching all day for further news!!

So much to say, between my last posts and now, lol it will take all day to write.

OH, Betty, how awful for Paul, Hope they catch the culprit(s) for sure...
Well, here is what I've got to share about Rose, First yay, a crafting buddie, too cool! Second, Betty, you said you were keeping very quiet in the mornings, and not talking to furries in fear of waking her...LOL, teens sleep through anything! You go about your Routine just as before. She will get used to it, and why should you change, you have to remember, she came into YOUR house...But I am sure you will both be great house mates, sounds like you are off to a grand beginning though, so happy for that...and isn't she a Pretty young lady!

Mary, your a sweetie, thanks about my writing...But, to answer Betty as well, No haven't wrote a thing, really. I've tried, just not happening. With exception about my trip...LOL, will have to get back to that, as soon as I have some free time...Ohhh, DH going to Denver for a week, is it for work? (lol I am so nosey) Well, glad you have Belle to keep you company and busy, hopefully time will fly!

Waiving Hi to Everyone...

Well, i did have a fire on Carol's birthday night!! The wind suddenly stopped around 8, I was reluctant, but decided to try...wouldn't you know, it started right up, not even a delay! Steve said wow, you got a fire going, Yep, Bear must have wanted one too. So I enjoyed our fire until about 2....

Yesterday was a full day of Running! But woohooo, got my main color of paint, so now will continue with my Kitchen re-model.

OK, got to scoot!!
Have a great day everyone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for the update Joyce! We will all be sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear about our "nephew's" arrival!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Wow - Stacey going to have a little one tomorrow! On Sept 10th......

One other thing - as we were packing up, I started a fire to burn up the extra debris, and burnt my hand rather badly, but I'm coping...... SEE? I can type lol

Betty - I agree - you just go about your normal routine, and Rose will sleep juuuuuuust fine lol

Joyce thank you so much for the update.. guess I lost out on when I thought the baby would be born..glad she's in good spirits and that Chris is with her, doubt he'll head back out now for a week or so...

Got to go back and read your post about the project and how it was done with sand as base, guess not done in the ground, hmmm sounds interesting.

As for the birdbaths I use block mortar cement, dig a hole in the ground creating the design of the birdbath then do my mortar and add shells, glass bobbles, mirrors etc.

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Oooohhhh wonderful birdbath. Love the dragonfly!! How do you do leaf ones?

Hey Lil Injun...my recipe....3 parts perlite, 3 parts peat moss, 2 1/2 parts portland cement (no substitutes on that)...mix all together dry then slowly add water while mixing to create your mix. You want it to be pretty damp. When you finish mixing...put a walnut size amount of mix in your gloved hand and squeeze...water should come out in a fast drip. Then wait 10 minutes...then check it again same way and there should only be a few drops coming out. The peat moss takes that long to become absorbed. Then you're ready to go!

I was thinking that Stacey was 3 weeks early...I don't know why I was thinking that baby was going to be born the first of October.. not the last. So she's 7 weeks early...However her ultrasound the other day does show a nice strong baby and over 5 pounds already. They just want to hold off as long as possible to let those little lungs develop as best they can.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, wish you lived closer, Lydia who is a medicine lady made up a batch of salve, works wonders on burns..takes pain away immediately!
You'll have to make sure Bob does the fire from now on..so what's on your agenda for this week Susan?

Well, surprise, surprise, this is a post I copied from MSN this morning from my sister Sharon, when I was telling her about buying a trailer...

well I was going to suggest to you that you start saving all you can... I would like to go to Europe again... maybe in 2012... I would pay for your flight and hotel... but you'd need spending $

Now wouldn't that be something, she just got back from Paris..guess she liked it enough to bring big sister...

This photo was taken of her and her two friends..Sharon is on the left

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Wonderful family resemblence...pretty lady....well, tell her she's going to have to wait until 2013, cause you've got lots of sistahs coming to your house in 2012!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Debbie what cute pics of your furr babies!! How are you going to get rid of those kittens???

Joyce thank you so much for the update!! Wow, I didn't expect to see that her water broke, when was her original due date? I have forgotten what her original problem was that is stopping her from carrying to term. I shouldn't be this forgetful!!

Judy so glad you got the fire going! You know Carol was right there to help and enjoy.

Waving Hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The inhaler is already working, I've taken 2 puffs 3 different times now and I'm a lot better. I had something weird happen with my ribs last night, I laid down flat on my back because I wanted to watch some TV, but it was killing me to do so with this rib muscle pleurisy whatever it is, but it moved from the far right side kind of under my bra strap to the bottom of my rib cage in front. I was in so much pain I rolled over onto my left side and things started moving in there. After it all settled down I rolled back over onto my back and the pain was gone! I can still feel it but not near as bad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well this morning I was a good girl, went about my business (giving final coats to my painted rocks and cutting out 56 8" rag quilt blocks, looked at the clock in craft room and it was 7:50a.m. oh/oh but didn't go knock at her door and say "up and at it" although I so wanted to but went into my bedroom to get a sweater, talked loudly to Sailor, dropped something..awww woke her up at about 7:55a.m. bad me right?

Joyce, I use rhubbarb leaves for my mold and a bag of cement (rocks included) add water, not to make it too wet but not to dry..somewhere I did step by step instructions..will have to go in search of it..

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Crissy - what do you mean "things started moving in there"?????

Betty - yes, we ALL know how "bad" you are LOL silly lady!!!!!!!!!
My hand is really painful, but I was given some gel that should take the pain away. Only problem is..... it keeps it too moist, m'thinks..... and it's not healing the way I Think it should. However, I'm not a nurse...

This message was edited Sep 9, 2010 7:15 AM

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I don't know, it was like joints popping, maybe the muscle is healing and is popping, or if I pulled ligaments they will definitely do that.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Crissy, keep masaging the area the pain is it, move it around..so glad the meds are working and all it took was a look at that gorgeous doctor..maybe a 2nd appt. wouldn't be a bad thing if the pain is there even ever so slightly...

Judy, wonderful that you got to do your traditional 'fire' for BEAR, did the family join you? How is Steve's work going, still lots of reno's ahead of him...did he pay you for your painting efforts, he must know you need craft $$$

Looking outside, still raining, guess Cathy won't get my grass cut unless of course she cuts in the rain. Better not forget her mom brought me another pair of jeans to shorten, did the others within hours of her bringing me them and here it's almost 3 days and they are sitting on the 'to do' table, yikes, was painting there this morning sure hope I didn't splash any paint on them...

Joyce, nope Paris trip would have to wait until after our sista's reunion..oh my, not sure I'll have time for working

Victoria Harbour, ON

Susan, at least I didn't say 'get up Rose' so am improving..

Crissy, will you be travelling to visit your mom soon now that you are both feeling better?
