Added feature, yes you can add a/c
Would have to test it out first though..
Come on Debbie, step up to the challenge..
LOL Linda Kay, guess I could but that would take a longer time to save my pennies...I'll be long gone by then.
Best/Worse/what did I learn today? Visit with friends!!!
Massive Thunderstorms here Betty & Dianne, with high winds.....heading across the lake.
I am shutting down til it passes.
LOL Debbie oh yes they're that small, Tiga was. What's funny is they grow like puppies, feet first, it's hilarious. Females don't get near as big as the males do. They did pick up the trait, they're just a solid color so not so noticeable. They have tuffs on the ears and their eyes are opaque and their cheeks (whisker area) are big with squared off noses. They're probably like Tiga and about 85%ish Maine Coon and 15% something else. I know Tiga isn't pure bred because her fur is too short, she has more of medium length fur than long fur like the ones in the pictures do.
Oh Bev!! I'm worried about you
Betty I am going to the dentist too, if I change that appt it will be February before I can get in there, and I changed it once already, it was scheduled for the day we were arriving to your house and the nearest appt I could get then was Sept 8th. I'm cavity prone so I can't wait.
Crissy, I can definately see the MC in Tiga....what a handsome baby! How old is Tiga?
All three of them have longer hair. The little runt, seems better today, more energy. The vet wants me to wait a couple days before worming as they are really worn down. She knows worming is what they need...but don't want to dehydrate them with it either.
Bev, please be careful and take care of yourself. Lots of hugs
Debbie
Bev, sorry to hear you may be bleeding internally. Hope you find out soon what is going on! My hubby spent a week in the hospital last year, becasue of a bleeding ulcer in his stomach.
Hello To All ;
Prayers Bev ! Please take care of yourself !
Betty LOL at your first post... I started thinking of all these mysterious ways you could get Rose's pic for us... Maybe ask her to stand near the shed so we could see "how small it is"... LOL... then you just go snap a pic and that's that... when will you post it?
Debbie -What a Great looking guy your DS! I definitely see you in him... I so went down memory lane as well last year. I made a collage for the High School Yearbook... then found out I couldn't use it but boy did I have fun picking out pics..... So you have a musically talented young man as well....
Judy - your "Ode to Bear" is VERY Poetic... what a fantastic writer you are... You probably have already...but if not... you should keep a tablet aside and write down thoughts on her while they come to you.... I really enjoyed reading ...your writing style is incredible...
Dianne - I sent that old stomach virus packing LOL! It is definitely not coming your way... woudn't wish that on anyone...
Deb- sounds like the kitties have found themselves a nice home ! LOL! Belle had her second DR visit today... 3 weeks ago 10 pounds, 17 today. Vet said she will end up around 40? I hope smaller LOL but we LOVE her so much we're stuck with her no matter how big she gets....I love when she lays at my feet when I'm on here...
Hope to drop back by tonight again....
Hugs,
Mary
Mary...if I keep ANY of those kitties...I will have to get rid of one of my big babies. SO, I keep saying it is easier to give the kitties a home, than to loose one of my long term babies I am so attached too. We will see how it goes.
I am up late, and I know I should be in bed. We had the storm pass threw, and more on the way from the sounds of it
Shane had a good first day of school. Yes, he is very musically gifted, I am very proud of him. I see my older brothers in him.....Paul sees his family. Some of both I am sure.
Ok, off to bed before I wake up the little monsters! lol
Debbie
Morning all,
Debbie, your storm did pass through, lordy it's almost 7am and it's so dark outside, most likely due to heavy sky..will rain all day and cold, we go from Florida weather to northern weather from day to day..just don't know how to dress each morning!
Bev, prayers for you..let's hope the doctor gets tests done immediately so they know what their next step in getting you back to health! You must be terribly worried, know you are in all our thoughts..your pictures are always a breath of sunshine when we open them...hugs for Scotty!
Well here is ROSE!
Gosh Betty, Sue and I just dug about 50 turtle head volunteers from my garden...wish I'd loaded you up while you were here!
Hello everyone....lurker here! ^_^
Hello Rose, so nice to meet you!
Betty, Kyle is growing so tall! He is going to be a good looking man!
Why thank you.yep he's special to me..know grandma's HAVE to special grandchild and in a way that is true, each are more special in their own way..guess because Kyle is the one who always drops in to see if grandma wants anything that he's become so precious to me..
Joyne, you are not a lurker, you are one of us, does my heart good to see you post..oh no, how come I didn't see the turtle head plants at your house..drats..oh well, could not have taken them across the border anyway!
LindaKay, got a swap package yesterday, Cathy brought it to my house, while opening it Rose asked if I had ordered something so went on to tell her all about you all..
Left the house at 7:50 and had to wake her up, I said ' you don't get up very early for work' she looked at the clock and said, 'oh, I have plenty of time, don't have to leave here until 8:20a.m. omg 1/2 hr. to bath, dress, eat breakfast..guess it's because I'm up 2 1/2 hrs. before I live to mellow out..lol
Sure takes us longer to get going in the am doesn't it Betty???? I can barely remember when I used to be like that. Showered and out in 45 minutes, Now --- I give myself at least a couple hours. No more rushing about here......
LOL Barb, feel bad about waking her these last 2 mornings but on Monday she said she would be up at 7a.m. with her alarm..with my going downstairs to play in the craft room I don't hear the alarm and I fret, nothing worse to me than getting to work late!!! It's not that it takes me a lot longer to get ready, it's just that I like to wake up, clean the house, mellow out and enjoy a bit of the morning before having to rush...I'll let her know tonight I'll not wake her anymore...I have to remember she's renting a room and I'm not the mommy right?
Barb, rain/wind and cold here today to be on the lookout..
How are you making out with your placemats and the likes for the sale, when is it again? Not till November right?
Well, thanks. I like being "one of us"! :o)
I went to Joan's on Monday and took a trough class. I know, I know, I already make troughs, but I wanted to see how she did it, and I'm having some girls over to make them, and I wanted to be able to pull it off gracefully. If this works out, I may start doing it for others as well.
Anyway, Joan told me on Monday that she had a $600 water bill for 2 months...and that wasn't to make her garden thrive, that was just to make it survive! Can't imagine...but she does get to write it off because of her business.
I'm having the DG Ohio River Valley Gardeners here on September 25th for a carry-in. I've already warned everyone how bad everything looks. We haven't had any rain since Aug. 11th. It's truly sad out there.
Sure wish we could hear something about Tubby.
(PS...sorry I missed wishing you a Happy Birthday, Barb...hope it was wonderful)
My butterfly bush is lush and talk about butterflies....
I'ts a sad time of year Joyce to see the gardens dying off, walked the gardens this morning and not much left to ooohh and ahhhh about.
I'm sure their gardens are about the same so will understand.
And did you learn to do a trough differently or was it same method you were using? you'll all have fun making them, the ones I make are sitting and won't get planted until spring..I've all the fixings to do another few, should do so thins weekend before dampness gets into the cement and the powder turns hard..My friend Ann and I just did large birdbath's a few weeks ago, Ann was just thrilled at being able to take hers home last week, I already had one so gave the one I made to Darlene, she says she has birds drinking in it already!
Just gabbed with Sharon my sister, in Orangeville last week a young nurse went missing, her car was found, blood stained, in her bedroom they found massive blood staines through the entire bedroom /staircase but no body to be found..they thought whoever did this drove her body to another location and brought her car back..imagine how brazzen that was...on the weekend in Caledon they found body parts, forensic teams did analysis and just confirmed it was her body. Where did they find these body parts, just down from Sharon's, same road..so she's not feeling comfortable in her house as it's set into the forest with neighbors quite a distance away. Glad she has an alarm system!

Oh my...how scary is that?! Well, I hope they catch the culprit. Gosh...can't feel safe anywhere any more....that's why I'm just a tad worried about you getting that little tent camper, Betty. I know most places are pretty good about watching out for their renters, but I still worry a bit. (Love you!)
Yes, she had a different way. She still does some like we do with the forms and putting them on the inside. However, the one we made on Monday (and some made two different kinds) were made with sand as a base (mounded around and on top of a qt. size round pot) and then formed around that (upside down). I really like it better that way, and that's the way I'll be teaching on Monday. The other way she demonstrated is called free form. It's just like it sounds. You start with a base of whatever shape you want, then start making the walls around an inch or so at a time, and when that row is complete, you put sand in the middle to keep the walls from falling. After each row, you add more sand to the inside, so you can make it as tall as you'd like. I didn't make one of those, but I will before too much longer. I have to go find sand somewhere before next Monday. They were telling of all sorts of gravel pits where you can get a bunch for very little money. It's just finding the place first. It wouldn't do to have to buy sand at HD or Lowe's cause you really need a lot for several people. Guess Bill doesn't know that we're going sand shopping in the PU later today!
I've sand in my driveway Joyce, that's why whenever we're doing rhubbarb leaves or birdbaths they are always done at my house..lol..hmm sounds interesting, I'll try your method on the weekend to use up my supplies...
As for tenting, omg who would want an old prune like me...I'm sure I'm safe!!!lol
Goodness Betty, that is a horrible story. I sure hope they catch the bad guys!
Betty, I'm going to have to call you a fibber on that one...I think you are an extremely attractive woman...course, you're not my type..LOL..but I bet there are plenty of guys who would put their hand up for some attention!
I was just calling around to find perlite in the 4 cu. ft. size pkg. I will need it for Monday. Well, found it about 40 minutes away for $12.95. Then called a nursery near here and they have it on hand as well. It's $29.95 Geesh
Thank you for the compliment..needed that..
When you consider the cost of gas then your time to go the 40 minutes there and back it's well worth the cost, especially if you are charging or splitting the cost.
I do a lot of workshops, coming this mid November I'm busy/busy..easier to have everyone pick up their supplies but then it never fails, they are not sure what to pick up so I do all the shopping and I assign a cost..everyone is much happier...
As for the Orangeville killing, think even I would be locking my doors...
think I told you that in Penetang on Sat. my boss (BIL) Paul and his wife Wilena were sleeping and got robbed! Said it's kids because of what they took...
Sitting here thinking of Tubby and Bev..sure hope they feel the love, the prayers we're sending
Oh I hadn't heard that...I'm so sorry. You feel so violated when that happens.
Well, I didn't give up, I kept calling around and I found it really close to me for $16.50. Whew....that's a relief! Just couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for it when I knew I could get it for $13!
Oh Betty, the other thing Joan did that I'd never done, is she screened her peatmoss. I've always just picked out the sticks and used it that way, but it really does make a much nicer looking trough without all the stuff sticking out! I was glad to see that she used the same recipe that I did as well, no sand. She does add a handful of fiberglass fibers for strength and she uses just a tad more portland than I do, (I used 3/3/2, but she uses 3/3/2 1/2) but I will beef mine up now, too. She said it just makes for a stronger, longer lasting trough. She showed us how to make heart shaped troughs and hanging troughs, too.
Debbie Tiga's 14 years old.
Betty Kyle is such a good kid! Rose looks like a nice girl! So glad she showed up! Old habits are hard to break, aren't they? And I agree with Joyce, you are attractive! Don't ever think that your not!! Oh My, I bet that freaked Paul and Wilena out! That's scary!!
Interesting about the trough making!
Yes I am at work, the dentist took 30 minutes and no cavities, for once!! Woo Hoo!!!!
My Hot Dr. did a copd/asthma test and now it's documented finally that I am borderline asthmatic, which I've known that for about 10 years but have never had a test done so it's nice to be certain, so he gave me a Symbicort inhaler and that should knock this crud out! He didn't even look at my side, but that's ok.
Drats, sure wish I lived closer, would have loved to attend that class..my girlfriend Rita is in the fiberglass business, will give her a call and see if she has fibers?? hmm that would strengthen it for sure..now you don't plant any of your this year right, you leave them until next season?
At least Crissy you are diagnosed, more able to deal with what's ailing when you know what the ailment is...funny, someone recently told me they had seen a Doctor and he said they only get paid to deal with one issue at a time, if there were more, book another appt. as they alot only so much time..can't believe that but in this day who knows...
My tummy is hungry, glad lunch is in 10 minutes, not sure where Suzanne and I are going just know I'm hungry, I'll leave to where to here as she's ill..
Betty, I did not see any post of Paul getting robbed! What did they take? Nothing to expensive I hope. If it was kids, maybe some games or something? Wow, we had our house broken into once, and it makes you very uneasy for along time! Thank God they did not take anything!
Crissy, glad to hear you finally got properly diagnosed. Now hopefully the meds will work for you.
Lindakay, stole liquor, cel phones, Wilena's wallet with all her i.d. and $$$, vcr, that type of thing..so yesterday they spent most of the day going to apply for health insurance, drivers permit and cancelling c.c.'s..
Oh no, that is terrible. It takes forever to get some of the paperwork replaced! Hope they called the cell phone company and canceled that also?
Betty I was wondering that just a bit ago if they only see the patient for one thing at a time. It's getting better so I guess no biggie, I'm not going back for it, I've been twice for this cough.
That is horrible, not so bad until you get to the wallet part. Ug. I had my whole purse stolen out of my car once, that was bad but they found my purse in a garbage can down the street, Dave's $300.00 Seiko was gone, and . Hopefully they got everything canceled in time, if the crooks were to use the cc and what-not.
Paul seems to think it's kids!
Pulled b.b.q. pork on a bun, sure filled me up, maybe Rose won't get a meal tonight, I'm full!
With such a drastic change in the weather I've been putting the micro furnace on/off/on/off all morning, yawning like crazy, might finish coating my rocks and then do nothing but put my feet up,covered in an afghan and enjoy a movie..
speaking of afghans, sitting here doing another, bored to death..keep thinking I should bring in those faux panels for my washroom, would keep me entertained..
I's Back......... I was reading all the posts (well, some of the highlights, anyway.......) Wow - scary about that nurse, and the theft of the Paul's stuff........ WELL!
Stacey - glad the pains stopped, at least until Daddy gets back home!
If I missed stuff/people, my apologies - you're always in my T&P
Tubby.............Where Are You?!?!?!?!? Shirley, please Post......... It's been over a week without news, and we're worried...........
Camping was interesting. Turned really, really cold on Saturday night, and our little heater didn't warm the tent enough so we went to WalMart on Sunday and got a 3000 BTU catalytic heater. Then of course we ran out of fuel on Sunday night.........
fyi - had a seizure on Sunday/Monday during the night, but I'm ok. Bob was there, and held me through it. Now I know why I fell at the campsite (skinned my knee on the stones) outside the tent when it was pitch dark - I must have been a little "rocky" then. And of course what's camping without burning yourself at the firepit? It's a pretty bad one, on my hand between the forefinger and middle finger of my right hand. And I'm right handed LOL
It was so cold on Sunday morning, it almost snowed, and some food froze. My teeth were chattering so hard that I could hardly keep my body still - we warmed up at WalMart LOL spent most of the day there, and had breakfast at a restaurant (buffet). It was so good to be warm!! It rained most of that day, too.
On Monday - warm & mostly sunny - we went to the Kootenai Brown's Pioneer Village, and it was Fabulous!! I'd never seen a sod hut (soddy) before! And nothing was roped off, so we could go into everywhere. I'll have to post some pictures ^_^
Anyway - it's a fabulous campsite, and we met some new friends, and some friends from the previous camping came to camp again, when we called them too ^_^ We had a good time with them.
Susan
Betty - glad to hear that Rose arrived. Have you changed your B&B to another name? B&BYOF, perhaps?
So laughing ( yep bring your own food) sounds like a plan to me...
OK - would like you to read the following and come up with an answer
A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother met a guy whom she did not know. She thught this guy was amazing and believed him to be her dream guy so much so that she fell in love iwth him right there; however she never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.
Question:
What is her motive for killing her sister?
Give this some thought and let me know...
The man is her ex brother in law. (ex, because otherwise she'd be able to find him through phoning her sister).
I was just talking to Jaye - she needs prayers for THREE of Kel's uncles.
Uncle Leno, and Uncle Joe both have cancer as well. Uncle Joe is the 3rd one - he has mouth cancer.
btw - she's concerned because none of the three are saved, so they need prayers for that as well.
With as many things that go wrong in our lives, surely this family of three brothers with cancer are having a hard time........
She asked me to post this, as her computer is in the shop with a BAD virus.
