Julia got int the act, helped scrub the lower cabinet...in this one the fridge is completely cleaned.
thought that was pretty cool.

Hahaha, on the cleanliness, Yep Steve said it makes him want to paint, ROFLOL, yeah right...i want it done Now and three weeks before we decide to move.

Then Jacob said hurry up and make messy, it's blinding me!

Alissa and another friend wanted to know if we were moving!! Ahhh, success.

So Judy you had all the family involved in cleaning, how did you manage that? was it allowance time lol

Know I have to go upstairs but I'm so *&&^%^ tired, I can't seem to have enough energy just to get up and go..omg if I stay sitting long enough I'll be on the night shift gabbing with Mary.

Last night when I finally went to bed I had t.v. on and got interested in a movie called the Jackal, I was so enjoying it, had just finished watching Bruce Willis kiss some guy in a bar, the admire Richard Geere and fell asleep, do you think they have next night re-runs???? might drop in to Rogers Video and see if they have it on cd..hate it when you watch a movie and don't get to see the ending..

Up and at it..

Glenview, IL

LOLOL, Betty, You and Debbie WERE 2 Hours Early, pies weren't done!

Glenview, IL

My Gosh, you are up past your bed time...You have a good nights sleep, Will gab more tomorrow.

But to answer ?, Believe it or not she just volunteered, said cleaning was addicting, lol should have pointed to the rest of house!
Oh, and Steve cleaned the fan for me...Didn't like i was standing on butcher block, grin grin...

Maybe it will be on again...LOLnever knew Bruce would kiss another guy, maaaan.

Victoria Harbour, ON

When you visit me Judy, I'll make the lemon pies..my specialty and won't even burn them..promise..lol

You say you are giggle/giggle Judy, you are tired right? me, when tired I get chatty, almost more than Aunt Muriel..could that be? ah speaking of Aunt Muriel, she bought a new car a little over a month ago, had an accident and demolished it..think she was picking up a new one today..says she's sore all over, of course, she told rescue crew nothing was wrong and wouldn't go for x-rays..should give her a call..

Anxious to get Debbie over for a weekend!

Drats, Debbie, long weekend coming up, is it a long weekend for you as well, sure wish you had your passport, I'd pick you up then bring you home unless of course Paul wanted to come visit as well..sure wish you could.

told you I'm gabby when I'm tired..

NOW back to color..I do like the yellow and the blue, but, not fond of the brown, perhaps a lighter shade? not sure..

Victoria Harbour, ON

He was playing the part of a terrorist I think, wanted some i.d. so went to a gay bar..I thought ok, got the i.d. he wanted but then didn't he start to kiss the guy, and I MEAN kiss, think I was thinking about that when I fell asleep..the Jackal, not sure think is a 3 or 4 year old movie...

My bedroom fan needs cleaning as well..it's an older one and even after you clean it still looks grimmy..Canadian Tire often has them on for $50.00

Meant to tell you, Suzanne and I went to the Garden Center at lunch, you can do that when you eat your lunch in the office before having lunch..lol..omg you think I'm bad with almost being done with Christmas shopping, weren't they putting up about 40' of Christmas village design already and last year's goodies on sale..Suzanne bought a kissing santa, reg. $49.99 on for $10.50 still in the box ..

Talk about beautiful Thanksgiving and fall decorations though...could have come home with a car full BUT thought about it and just know my shed must have about 6 totes full, don't need more..

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, I love the yellow on top....and I love the blue on bottom....do NOT like the middle color at all. Reminds me of baby poop! SORRY! What about a deep blue for the middle accent? Or if you want brown family....a deep chocolate. Now me, with my "McDonalds" red & yellow kitchen....should keep my mouth shut. You could always make it "POP" and put orange in the middle. lol

Betty, remember after we left....for two hours...all we wanted was lemon pie....we were SOOOO sad. And we were EARLY because we didn't llisten to the GPS. HAHA Oh yes, we did...that was when you went the wrong way and ran the toll booth! LoL.

Between Shannons infection......and Pauls pressure & cornea scratch, no way I am going anywhere this weekend. AND on top of it...his car is in major trouble....mine isn't too far behind. He is on restrictions and can't even get under the car to find out exactly what is going on. It is definately a radiator leak....but something with the front end jumping all over suddenly and very rough ride. NOT good! I need a $70 part for mine, oxygen sensor for the catalitc converter.....I swear it never ends! I will not sweat the small stuff...its just life.

Glenview, IL

OMG...You know Mis Nosey and her dagger's thats what i am doing to you right now...ROFLOL, already done with Christmas, ackkkk people like you, Well hands on the hips, should not be reporting such a thing just yet! But i know you started day after last Christmas!
Wish i were organized.lol. OH Buut you are not finished, Hello, we got a workshop to do DON'T WE??? (Mis Nosey is my Halloween witch, Betty, painted. LOL, long green finger nails!)

LOL, You too are so cute, just love you remenice all the time!
Yeah, Breenie practically bit my head off over that Brown...OK, I like the dark blue idea or the lighter Brown...Uhgg, hate to admit, i guess it does look like Poop...hahaha, don't wanna giive the faMILY TO HAVE AN EXCUSE TO BRING IT UP AT DINNER CONVERSATION!Ohhh
so sorry not screaming, caps got stuck! LOL, typing fast here.

I can't believe Aunt Muriel wants to drive!! Yikes, thats scarey. (sorry)

LOL, Yep, you can tell I'm tired too blabby, mis-spelling trying to be fast, holy mackers, no wonder I don't have a job, lol not a typist with speed.

I feel for you on the car troubles...sigh, just never ends. Hope it gets fixed soon, And Shannon and Paul heal quick.

Glenview, IL

Well, i am sort of thinking you wanted warm colors...Red & Yellow Screams Warm! LOL, I love Blue, it's suppose to be a cold color but well...the sky is blue and so is water...Love the drk blue idea though...Will toss it out, plus i still have that color!

heheh, you refer it to Mc Donalds, never would have thought it.

Glenview, IL

OMG, Betty!!
Forgot to tell you, Last night I was lurking around the swaps...Ran across the painted Rock swap.

Sabrina and Jacob happened to catch a glimps as I had one of yours blown up...They couldn't believe they were rocks!
But once Breenie caught one of your painted chairs in the back, She said That is so a Betty piece of art!! heheh, i just smiled away, Yup that's our Betty all right...Told them they should have seen the fawn you did for Sistah Joyce!

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, my "yellow" was supposed to be a tuscan yellow. DD had put it in her kitchen on one wall....but she has MASSIVE skylights and windows in there....and it was WAY to bright. Well, lets give the paint to mom. SO, I have wanted red in my kitchen for a long time. I have a red strainer/drainer.....toaster, etc. SO, I figure...red accents.

Got it all done, loved it...but couldn't think what it reminded me of! Was out with DD...the day I "ran into Betty" at Craft Show in Hamburg.....was with my DD...she wanted McDonalds breakfast....walk in and said "OMG....its my kitchen!" And the colors were spot on! I just need the golden arches!

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, there is more red in there now....but this was one of the shots from April when I did it.

Love the kitchens girls. Love that red!

Tubby, please take care, and know we are praying for you! Hope your not in the hospital too long!

Debbie - your kitchen pic makes me want an order of Fries !

.....and supersize it !

I'll try to post again... I'm Beat !

Mary

ROFL Thanks Mary! There is much more red in it now, which makes it more so. The pan of fries on the stove aren't helping tonight, or the cheeseburgs we grilled! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Debbie, love the colors..not sure why in someone else's home I think they are awesome and in trend, painted my basement a bright color, thought if others can have it why can't I, bad idea, ended up repainting 2 days later.. think we should all have the colors that most make us feel comfy. I see either of you have not mentioned wallpaper, not your thing? Maybe it's because I so like the country and french decor that wallpaper draws me in.

Debbie, just know I have some red country things around here somewhere, will go in search and next time we meet at CrackerBarrel and can give them to you.

Tubby, can't figure out my word of the day, almost think you've stumped me..not giving up though. You keep out of mischief today..

LindaKay, I just bet your niece is exhausted and her body calling our for the drugs..what a time she's had of it..let's hope baby won't have ill after effects, must have been a terrible strain on them both. Prayers going their way!

Susan, did you have a good day?

Judy, tell the kids they are too kind..funny, seeing a photo of lawnchairs and knowing it's my yard.

I've got 32 red squares of flannel cut, hoping to get them sewn before I leave for the office..doing the ragging at the office would entertain me for sure. Paul will be in this morning but I'm sure not for long!

Best run, have a coffee

Enjoy your day!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-I like the blue as is, but your yellow needs to be a couple shades lighter. Think more buttercream.....I agree about the brown and would maybe not even do a brown.....to be honest the first thing I though of when I saw your kitchen was a grey bottom color with a steel blue top color. I like colors that set off the colors of the cabinets if you aren't going to paint them. If you are going to do a brown as the middle color, try something that has a pink undertone. I know it sounds funny, but browns as well as a lot of other colors have undertones. If you look at the brown paint sample section you will be able to tell what the undertones are with them all next to each other. I attached a pic of our kitchen-ignore all the green as that is not part of the final vision. Have new counters and flooring tiles picked out, now just need about $500 to do it:) They will eventually be in neutral colors. I picked the blue (even though DH thought I was nuts until he got one section painted) to show off the wood cabinets...

Very nice Stacey..like the checkered flooring..partial to checkerboard, almost all the floor matts I paint have chekerboard in them. On your table, are all the goodies for our 'baby'? Didn't catch where the shower is, your house or Janice's?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Coffee is on!
Stacey, I love that blue in the kitchen. That is very pretty!

Tubby, how are you doing today? Had you coffee yet?

I heard from Heathers Sister last night, and she said that the midwives, after 4 days of labor, decided it would be best to go to the hospital and get checked out, as she had a fever and was not feeling well. When they arrived at the ER, they got so upset, at the whole situation, and took her to the OR right away for an emergency c section.
Just glad to hear everything so far is OK!

It is Friday everyone! Hope you all have a great week-end!

Lyndonville, NY

Oh LindaKay, we all could have told her that....my goodness! Most likely she is on IV antibiotics also, running a fever like that with water breaking four days before...not good.

How much did he weigh? I think you had said 8 bs...but my memory is only functioning on a few sips of coffee.

Just so glad they are all well.

It is downright chilly here this morning....in the low 60's right now. One would think I had brains enough to get up and close front door and window.

Morning Tubby....sending a morning hug to you and Shirley, you rest and get strong.

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!

Wow, Thank you for helping with the color scheme. LOL, you know how uncoordinated I can be...Hmmm, will have to see what they have in the more yellow.

As for the cabinets, I do want to paint them. Right now they are white, along with all the big appliances. We have a paint that Steve wants me to use up, I am hoping its enough...It's called Richmond Bisque, sort of creamy color but darker than white,...I was thinking to paint the groove lines with the 2 colors of the walls.

Debbie, Well i like your Kitchen, As stated never would have thought of it as Mc Donalds, but I don't go to Mc Donalds, You should refer to it as McDebs!!
I had a friend who's kitchen was mostly Red colors! I think it gives your kitchen a dramatic look! OMG, Love your kitchen clock!
Did you make the curtains? They are really cute.

Mary, Super size it! LOLOL, very cute...Hope you had a good night sleep. Hows Work going?

Stacey, Yay, I see I am not the only person who likes blue! Love your Blue...Thanks for explaining the hues, The little sample don't say the colors just codes & numbers. But the Gal paint does have gray & others on it, helps me to understand...

Really for the cabinets, I was hoping to find like coloring of both your cabinets, still looking into it. (I could use the gal for the Master Bath)

Betty, Reread your post about Sailor, poor baby! How is she doing today. I hope the bath helped to soothe her. I wonder if gold bond baby powder would help maybe she is suffering from heat rash...

Well we are heading to the house this weekend...Told the kids not to make a mess of my kitchen, so I hope they listen.

OK, Betty, have you figured out the word of the day?? I had to look it up!

Hey Crissy, How are you feeling?? Sure hope that new medicine is helping you. And How is MOM?

Linda kay Is your stiffness gone from the fall? LOL, Was looking at my shadow last night and I can see how one could trip on it! Especially late at night half asleep....ROFLOL, can you tell, I NEED to get alife! Oh and How is the sewing going?

OK, got to get some laundry in and get going on the spice rack.
See you at a break.

Glenview, IL

OH Gosh Linda Kay,
Glad everything is good!

Lyndonville, NY

Judy, I have a thing for chickens....love them. Most everything in the kitchen has chickens of some sort on it....except the plates. Those curtains are from Walmart, I love them. The only thing I can sew....are squares and rectangles LOL SO, pillows and window seat cushion has been my limit. OH and blankets I made for DS and I may venture out and try curtains.....if I think of it as a giant rectangle. lol

I actually was trying to do the "fiesta" colors in there....and when I was going for a 3rd color, DH had somewhat of a "your putting what where?" Issue...so I stopped, for now. I could see your kitchen done something like that with the vibrant colors you have picked and color splash here and there. I like the colors on Rachel Rays pots/cookware and Paula Dean....that was the goal....it flopped. lol

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Judy she didn't get into surgery until after 5pm Pacific time, so she was in surgery until about 10pm Pacific time, I haven't heard from either one of them yet this morning. I need to call my dr here in a minute, that shot did almost nothing. I feel fine but I have no voice.

(((((((((((((((((((((TUBBY))))))))))))))))))))))) Big big hugs for you and Shirley

I don't like the brown either Judy, I think it's too dark and Stacey has a wonderful idea! Love that blue kitchen Stacey. When I had my last apartment I painted the kitchen a light blue, it looked really good against the brown 70's style cabinets. Here's the kitchen in my new house. This was the day the escrow closed and we hadn't moved in yet. I'll take another pic this evening and show y'all with the new fridge and clutter and all.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the compliments-I am pretty good with decorating most of the time:)

The pic I showed was taken last year sometime, so the stuff on the table is non-baby related. The shower will be at a park about a mile from my house.

Judy-since you already have the country themed kitchen idea with the blue and yellow colors, maybe try a drybrushing or something on the cabinets. If I was doing grey and blue, I would do the lines on the cabinets in black and change out the cabinet pulls-just my opinion of course. If I was doing the blue and yellow, I would maybe do the brown (or even a darker huh of brown) in the cabinet lines if I wasn't going to drybrush...either route I would change the cabinet pulls. I would also pick one color, like the yellow, and paint the little table nook in just that color.

The colors in our kitchen are that blue, a dark purple, and silver (cause of the fridge;)

Debbie-you can add a third color in with decorations;) Maybe a dark green or a dark blue....both fiesta colors.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Stacey you can come over to my house and give me some decorating ideas when that beige wears out and it's time to be painted again! BTW, the whole house is beige and white, easy to match colors to. I just noticed that I don't even have a fridge in the pic of my kitchen! LOL

Lyndonville, NY

Stacy, what I like to do is find an item or two....that I want in that room, and pull the colors off of that.

Sort of how I came upon the ones I did....and yes, the blue & possibly a touch of orange are what I still want to throw in there. I will have to take a picture of the chicken & mugs I have to display in there so you will see how I got that.

Judy, I really like your blue and yellow....I think those really go nice together. I "think" the color of yellow I had was sunflower....will have to find the can and look.

My kitchen is sooooo small, I can't do the dark colors in abudance...but do like your blue Stacey.

Glenview, IL

LOLOL...OK That Brown is OUT!

Yep i am favorable with the yellow and blue too...I think i will keep Stacey idea with the original blue for that little ledge and door frame tho.
And yes Stacey, for sure, I want to paint the Kitchen nook in the Yellow...Steve wanted to separate the 2 rooms, but being it is really one big area, i want it the same color.

So here is the floor tile as is. Not sure when it will be changed out, but when it will, It will be very similar to the foyer tile, color wise.. (kitchen on left.) then i think you can see the counter color (no choice, it's staying....The paint can is what I'm considering for the cabinets...
Dry brush??? Ohhh, what do you think if i do The tall cabinets in the light blue, or should i stick with the cabinet color?

LOL, I didn't realize it had a country theme, so that's good to know!

Betty, to answer your question, Not too fond of Wall paper, I mean i like it, but geesh way too much work, Hey maybe a border at the the top, will have to give it a thought.

Glenview, IL

ooops, forgot the pic.

Fantastic decorating girls...think Para paints allow you to download a photo of the room/rooms you want to paint and you get to choose colors of each component..i.e. wall/trim/cupboards and you get to see what the final look will be like and if you like it prior to your spending all the $$ for paint and work..

Home depot also has a program I believe that you can purchase for only a few dollars.

Lyndonville, NY

Judy...I love you. But that color is a NO GO for the cabinets. Going to mute everything right out for you. Hmmmm......gotta think

Victoria Harbour, ON

I've 3 colors on mine, sanded edgings etc to bring out worn areas but then I like french country

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty you should post a pic of your kitchen, it's gorgeous.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi everyone.
Betty - how was my day? Well, it was busy in parts, slow in others.
I think if people will keep me busy, maybe I won't get to dwelling on my lack of job.
I went for voice lesson at 3:30, and then worked with the church's keyboardist at 7pm.
While I was doing that, my DH was trying to put up our new tent - with no instructions!
He has to set it up before we go camping on the long weekend, so he was spray water-proofing on it. It has a smaller footprint than our last one, but it is a 10' square cabin tent.
We've invited a friend of ours to join us for the weekend. His name is Bob, too So, for clarity's sake I will refer to him as Bob and my hubby as DH LOL
My DH's taking the Tuesday off, too, so we'll have a very long weekend!
Bob will bring his own sleeping bag, and he knows we're not returning until Tues. My DH is taking off early on the 3rd, and Bob will help me get everything out on the deck that we're taking, so all my DH has to do is help us with loading the truck.
Did I tell you that we also bought a dining tent? It pegs down, and has a rain fly too, I think. Made by Woods. We can put the picnic table in it, and eat bug-free (and rain-free, too) LOL

I wish I could get up the energy to do some of the stuff I NEED to do now.... ah well........

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Judy-I wasn't the one that suggested keeping the dark blue on anything-I think it needs to go. I agree with Debbie on the brown-it has yellow undertones and would not go. I would go the blue you have, about 3 shades lighter on the yellow and a brown with pink undertones. The color in my living room has pink undertones-here's a pic-sorry it is a little dark. With the little breakfast nook and the cast iron pans hanging, it all adds to the country look;) I would look for drawer/cabinet pulls that give you the country feel as well. Buy one or two and put them on and make sure you like them before buying enough for the whole thing.

Debbie-that is a good way to decorate as well. I kinda did that with the purple in my guest room-started with a large pic and picked a color I thought would make it pop. One of the first colors I thought of for you was a rust orange, but thought that might make the kitchen look too harvesty-you know, like thanksgiving or fallish...

Crissy-I LOVE to help decorate, so JLMK:)

The colors in my living room are brown, olive and cream, the one bath is dark brown and cream, the bath downstairs will be buttercream yellow (paint color is called coconut cream), fern green and a couple touches of a light purple in the art, the master bedroom is mustard yellow, wine and hunter green, the guest room is purple, silver and black, Jonathan's room will be turquoise and deep chocolate brown and the dining room will be a cream on top, with beadboard in a dark khaki color (the room isn't real big)
