Thankyou Debbie and all. I am doing good in rehab. HUGS BEV
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
To get self employed like that where you have to go to the seminar and sign up under them are mostly pyramid schemes, get rich quick schemes. There's no way I'd do that, pyramid schemes are illegal here in the States but they're still everywhere.
The only way to get self employed is to do exactly that, find something that you thoroughly enjoy, build yourself up with the stuff that you need to run your business, buy a business license, and post your ads everywhere and hopefully the calls and business will come. If not, adjust your ad campaign strategy and try again.
I'll brb...
Wanted to tell you about what my dr visit was like.
I went to the dr this morning and I was slammed when I got to work this afternoon! I love it when it's that busy! My hot dr saw me out in the hallway as I was being led to the exam room, he said, "Hi Christine! How are you doing??" I managed to croak out a "Well..." He said, "Oh my! I'll be with you in just a few minutes!" It's great to be remembered!! He gave me a shot of a steroid and said I would start noticing the effects around 3:30 or so. Well, my voice is a little better, I'm not coughing at all, and I feel better when I didn't know I felt bad to begin with! He also gave me a Z pack of Azithromycin antibiotic, said he doesn't think it'll do any good but never the less... lol, PLUS Promethazine-Codeine Cough Syrup, so I should be good to go for awhile!
Nothing like a "Hot Doctor" to make you feel better Crissy !
Hello To All ! Ditto what Crissy said about the financial schemes.... I've been contacted before as well.... No Thanks!
Something good will certainly come up soon...
If not, Susan...you come move down here to Baton Rouge. Everyone is hiring here !
"The Hills are Alive!".... Hey - I HAD THE ALBUM! LP! (for our young folks... that's what we had before Cassettes and CD's)
Thank you Dianne for the encouraging words... hit the nail on the head! I need patience!
Yes Betty - Exactly right! 8 hours drive... And Niece is at FSU in Tallahassee...so would get to see her BUT her fiance is Air Force so I am not sure if he will be.....
Deb - GOT a HUGE laugh out of throwing DH in the lake... My DH & I have the running joke...but in our case...it's Him doing away with ME.... (So If I ever die mysteriously...my DG friends will come to my rescue....send America's Most Wanted after my DH! LOL)
You are also absolutely right Deb! I spend ALL my time with DH family....here is ONE weekend for mine !
WOW - you are going through Senior Year ! I did mine last year...although it was my 'first time'.... This is your "last Senior year?".... Is everything the Last? (with me ...for example "The Last first football game... the Last Pep Rally....the Last Homecoming...etc"
Judy - isn't it MUCH easier to clean with the tunes blaring ! Love your comet comment... it started me singing the Comet song....
Back in a bit... ((HUGS))
Mary
Still no word on the baby. I am calling it a night. See you in the morning!
Morning,
Oh it's a dark, dreary and rainy day outside..headache is still with me so perhaps it's due to weather!
Got home last night and layed on the couch drifting in and out of sleep, did have a nice gab session with Susan and she made me hungry, she was b.b.q.'ing steak and meanwhile I had a choice of honey sandwhich or cereal, went with honey, needed something to sweeten me up..lol..before I knew it 11:30 came around, simply got off couch and into bed so there went one productive evening.
LindaKay did you manage to reach someone to get news? Let's hope later this morning you'll be telling us about the baby, how well he/she is doing! You must be extremely nervous over this whole situation..hugs for you..
Mary, does that mean you have decided to go..got to love it when all the hoopla is always one sided..hope you get to go..maybe you could drive and break the journey by doing 3 or 4 hours after work and then the rest early morning the next day..do you have any days coming that you could take a few extra?
Mary there are still many first to come, rest assured you'll not be bored..
Dianne, you sleeping in this morning?
We have a baby boy. he was born about 3 this morning, that's all I know, I will post more later with details. All is well with Mom and Baby!!!
Judy-I'm with you-when I clean I put my MP3 player in my pocket and put my earbuds in and rock it out!!LOL I usually get restless in the winter and do alot of my cleaning like that then. BTW-you wanna come visit so you can help me get everything nice and clean for the baby??? Come on-I know you wanna;)
Ohh, Linda Kay! Excellent news, will watch for info in a bit. Congratulations! Going to have to nic name him Pokey, lolol
whew, so glad they are both doing well.
LOL Stacey.
Good Morning All...be back in a bit, its off to school in a few.
Heather just posted on facebook, that Xavier Amadeus was born at 3:46 am this morning by c-section. Both are doing great, will update more later.
Wowwww...glad the little guy (and mom) is okay...imagine how much less pain she would have had if she'd listened to her AUNT LK!!!!!!!
Thank the Lord both are doing ok..love the name Xavier..being french it's a name that is often given.
I bet she'll hear a lot of 'I told you so' and rightly so..must be so hard for her sister to see the baby knowing she'll never hold Lillie..hugs and prayers for her...
Well Tubby, getting anxious here, waiting to see you post.
Bev. as always love the photo and glad that you are listening to what you are told...only way to get back on your feet and healthy.
Judy, looked in my refrigerator and went oh/oh..so clean it tonight I must.
Good morning everyone. Sorry to be away so long. Things happening around here that have kept me really busy and away from my computer.
I have been working a lot downstairs trying to finish up with all the fabrics I have - get them sorted and get them ready to be given away. I have WAY TOO MUCH and my Mom always told me that sharing is a good thing. For weeks now I've been going downstairs and moving things upstairs to my new sewing room. Hopefully it will be done this weekend.
I've also been doing a lot of babysitting for my two grandsons. For the most part, the older one watches the younger one (15 and 10) but they are typical brothers. Now that summer is nearing it's end they are at each other constantly so Grammy comes and plays referee. At least they don't kill each other that way. Actually they are quite good when I'm there. I think they have learned that I'll take none of their baloney!!!
It's hard as my DD who works as a computer tech for the school system needs to start two weeks before they do. All those computers must be in great shape before school starts! We've been taking car rides, and afternoons at the town beach, anything to keep them occupied. Plus I'm also transportation for them while Mom is so busy. Sounds like I'm complaining but far from it. I love the time I get to spend with them.
I love the tree picture Betty. Our leaves are turning already too. I don't like the looks of it. To me it spells a long, cold winter. To the extent that we went and bought our very first freezer. We bought an upright so I don't need to go digging for what I want from it. And now I need to fill it. Norm wants to have it so that we don't need to leave the house for a month if necessary. So I guess I'll be spending some time in the kitchen. I haven't done any canning or such in over thirty years so this should be fun.
I still am working on my sewing projects. I have several things in the works for the other building and hope to get them finished soon. I made a diaper bag for Fairy1004 but she hasn't seen it yet so I can't post any pictures. I think it came out really cute. I used some fabric that she sent to me.....
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy...Mary, Judy, Debbies, Dianes and all. I keep Tubby and Bev and Scotty and Mike in my prayers always.
Off to the basement again. Have a great day and Judy I need to see your pictures!!!!

Good Morning!
Keeping busy here, that's for sure, I have a full day's worth of work to do.
LK Ha! I agree, but she should be hearing a lot of 'I told you so's.' Why would she wait so long before going to the hospital? I'm wondering if the midwife finally gave up and took her or if she went into hard labor and had to go in. I would never do the midwife thing, I've heard too many times how it doesn't work and you end up paying for the midwife and the hospital.
I hit send and I didn't want to LOL! I do that all the time!
Great to hear from you Barb! Sounds like your keeping busy. My DH wants me to start canning our veggies next year and I've never done that, so I feel your pain on that, guess I'll be learning how!
I guess I'm going to be more into freezing what I put up as opposed to canning anything. It's been too long since I did the water bath thing with the sterilized jars and all. I really don't think I want to get into that again. We shall see.
Didn't mean to leave you out Crissy or Susan or Stacey with my greetings above. Sometimes I hit that send button without reading things through enough!!!!
Don't know any details yet, but I will post when I find out!
Good luck canning, and freezing! My Mom used to can all the time, but I never learned how! Now I wish I did!
Barb don't worry about it! It's impossible to remember everyone, there's no way I can!
My mom needs lots and lots of prayers sent her way today.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1091553/
They are on their way....for both of you.
Lordy, been busy/busy this morning, love it, makes the day fly by..
Barb, Roger (I'd be the helper and cleaner) did freezing, canning etc..we'd do up to 1,000 jars of mix and match, lots given away to family and friends...got lot's of great family recipe's..you name it and I'm sure it's in his cookbook..every once in awhile I'll get the book out just to see his handwritting, strange isn't it, anyway, he loved making various chinese food dishes, could share those as well..let me know..grandma always made me mustard beens, my boys favorite as well, maybe I'll make a batch this weekend. What kinds of pickling will you do? Roger loved spaghetti so we'd so hundreds of jars of tomatoes so he'd have them for use. Roger's mom and dad up to about 4 years ago retired and made their living with gardening and selling canning, sauces, jams etc.
Ann and Mike were going to the city this morning to get results on the cancer tumors taken a few weeks ago, this will determine IF they can do radiation treatments or not and are hoping to get a bit more into as to the 'mush' that was taken..prayers please!
Was laughing Barb, you say your mother told you it's great to give, she's right, but did she also tell you that what you give comes back 'twofold'..lol
Anxious to see the bag you did for Stacey, loved the print she sent you.
Crissy sending prayers as well...I did learn my lesson, I hope, shorter posts and that way they may not all end up in cyberspace..
Are you feeling any better Crissy? meds starting to help? another day and it will be weekend time, give you more time to rest and get back to your old self.
I feel so much better today and I didn't know I felt bad!! I've just given myself a headache by coughing constantly the past 5 minutes but boy did I get some yuck up! He told me that when that shot starts working to look out, congestion doesn't just 'go away' (like I didn't know that LOL!) but has to come up. He also told me that if I start having coughing fits do Nothing to stop them because that will stop the stuff from coming up, and the sooner I get that out the faster I'll get over this. It's nasty though!
As awful as it is, that's what you have to do..terrible feeling I bet.
You've been ill pretty well since you and I visited together..hope it will soon be behind you..
Is your mom having a lot of pain issues?
Betty, please let me know how things are going with Ann and Mike. I'll get a new card in the mail this week for them..
Crissy - Isn't bronchitis a b%^&$%!! I get it every year. But it sure beats pneumonia though!!! Been there and done that and don't want to play that game any more!!!!! Just go with the cough Crissy to get rid of it. It's yucky, I know, but must get out.... I'm still trying to figure out how it gets in!!!!! And where it comes from...
Please keep us posted on Mom okay?
Although the sun is out it's only 61 today, calling for nicer weather for the weekend though..going to a b.b.q. on Saturday late afternoon, might have to wear some snuggies...ohhh home cooked meal, ask me if I'm excited?
Thursday is pizza day, got to go and pick it up
gab later
Crissy - I know you're talking better, but I'll hold off on calling you until you're talking better yet! Cough up that "nasty stuff" ^_^
siiiiiiiiiiigh slept in until10 am today, now I'm having my first cuppa while sitting here (it's taking me 1 hr so far!)
OMG you are pampering yourself Susan, you must have needed it after a big steak dinner!
Great news the baby is here safely.....and both are OK. Mom sure gave it her all....poor girl. That midwife should have her license evaluated after all that.
Crissy, glad your feeling better.
Mary, yes...it is the LAST of everything. "Last time school shopping" which I can really do without! LOL
Shane is making me lunch right now....so, that part I will miss IF he goes away to college like he wants....I will be a basket case.
Didn't sleep well last night...so just might be in line for a nap after lunch. I have been to Rochester and back alreadythis morning.....and am also nursing one of my cockatiels....I am 99.9% sure one of the cats was messing with him....and he is an old boy and just not doing well. He is one of my naked rescue birds....so he is getting babied in a hospital cage for some TLC.
Betty, enjoy your pizza.
Debbie
Follow the link I posted a few posts up, it goes to her whole story. I caught the cold that you had, which went away within days of my return home, then 2 weeks ago I caught the stomach flu that lasted 3 days, and I've had this since last Friday. I'm sicker this year than in a while, I haven't been sick in 1 1/2 years.
Wow, Crissy, Sure hope you feel better.
Also, How did the surgery for your mom go??
Awe, Debbie, the last of the last...Sure know when that hits I'll cry like a baby!
But then there are the new beginnings too. OMG, I here you on the Grad pics, simply outrageous!!! And the packages they offer, Really what do people DO with all those pictures? LOL. We get the smallest package available. OH, I like that you do your own!
Mary, Waiving hiya to you, I was not trying to ignore your previous posts...I had every intention to come on the night shift to blab with you. I'm sorry, just isn't working out that way...I hope your Dh is still having fun with the dehydrator. We got one years ago and now it sits gathering dust! LOL, but We do get a notion every now and agin to do fruits...Oh my Sure hope you and DH CAN go out for a ride on the town or just a nice weekend. We sure need that...Hmmm, I think Pup will answer to what you call her, maybe she already is...giggling at the "comet" comment myself, I was somewhat shocked we even had some, lol but was glad to find it.
Linda Kay, So how is the little guy doing? Have you seen a photo yet or got any names? I was just glad everything turned out well.
Bev,That was a beautiful photo! Been keeping you in thoughts and prayers. Hope your rehab is going well.
Betty, So laughing, about your fridge...LOL, knowing you, probably not too much to clean tho. Today i was going to start on the spice rack cabinet, but Jake announced that one of his books was the wrong one! So way side tracked to search for the receipt. Well, can't find it so began going through piles of paper! Haha, well, it was needing to be done, and now it is, well most of it...Then, I can't believe but they are are still trying to find out about my dad's wife, who died 2 yrs earlier then he. No one knows much about her. Well, someone that went to the hearing mentioned that he had other kids! Blow me away, this is grand news to me! I said well if there are any then they didn't appear at his funeral and being the youngest of his 4 Children, I received his military flag, which you know, is on a special shelf in my room, anyway...She thought maybe he and the wife had kids, No, No he was in his late 70's and she was like in her late 60's and very ill...It's just weird because there is no record of their marriage and no one can help with her info...I only met her maybe twice...Ginni and I are the only 2 left. Yikes now they want a copy of Sylvia's death Certificate! Told her to call the Funeral home, So doing more research on that...LOL, she's going to call Ginni too to see if she knows about any other children, Said if she does I would know too. Siigh.
So nothing got done o my project today...
Hi Barb, OK finally uploaded my pictures. Wow, you have been really busy. How exciting your moving your Sewing room?!? I hope your taking pictures too...You had quite the set up in the basement...Here is some really cool news. I was telling Liz about the blocks and such, well, you know Liz, she has a tone of stuff she is trying to get rid of, Soooo. She sent me a box of old quilting books, my eyes grew huge at the projects in them...
Tubby, Shirley, where are you??? Sure hope everything is well.
Dianne, hows the planting going?
Stacey, LOL yep gotta have tunes...Especially for this kind of cleaning.
Debbie, Found this picture thought of you...Skittles was helping me, oh my goodness, I hope your Cockateil gets better, poor thing, how long have you had her?
See you in a bit!
Hi Girls
Not going that good.......
But you can't do anything...
I go to hospitla next Mon.....
.............................................intervista..........................................
Tubby
T U B B Y!! Gentle Armwraps to you. ((((((((((((((((((Tubby))))))))))))))))))))))
Just know you are always in our thoughts and prayers. We are here for you.
Very glad to see you post.
(((Tubby)))) Good heavens my friend, what is going on? We send you lots of hugs & love from your ladies here.
Judy, last I saw that picture of the kitchen, there was a lemon pie on that shelf....two of them you and Liz were "attempting" to make! LOL I have the same issue in mine...just too much stuff and not enough room. I do love that color.
Mine still looks like McDonalds...I can't believe I did that.
Johnny Angel is anywhere from 15 to 20 years old....I have had him about 12 years. He was at a pet store...I had seen him there twice, and honestly thought he had had surgery. He had NO feathers under his wings.....or across his belly or neck. I inquired about him "OH, hes just a breeder bird....got neurotic and picked all his feathers out!" I asked how old he was....guy had no idea, maybe 5 from what he could remember! OHHHH I was fuming. I gave DH "that look" that I am not leaving here without that bird. The guy said "Hes not for sale...he is a breeder."
I might have used a few choice words.....something about health department and animal abuse. The guy said "fine, if you buy a cage....you can HAVE the &^%^% bird. So, I got a $10 cage.....and brought him home with me. Couldn't think of a name.....and had the radio on....Oldies. The song "Johnny Angel...how I love him" Came on....and the bird started dancing and going crazy.....and I said "well buddy, guess you picked your own name!
His feathers have never grown back....and actually has lost even more. He is the sweetest little guy, is even very gentle with me when I had to patch him up yesterday....although he wasn't happy...he bit very lightly.
I have another tiel also that is naked.....Boomer. He was adopted from a young kid that had so many birds, another neurotic case....and the kid was going into the Army. SO I took the one he couldn't place. Boomer is about 10 now also. lol
Judy, I can see your neighbor across the street, the General, is that he peeking through the window? lol
You tell that Liz we miss her, no more time off, times she gets back with us!!! tell her Betty said so...(as I sit here looking at the photo of the 3 of us over my computer as I type)
Now I don't remember IF you told us, why are they searching now? isn't it a bit too late ..not thinking she passed away under unusual circumstances are they? hmmm I'm confused!
It's wonderful to see those photo's, know exactly where in the house that they've been taken, that's the best thing about visiting with dg friends, when you are gabbing away you can picture exactly where they are either outside or inside.
Well you've accomplished a lot, it's wonderful, bet you can smell the cleanliness. oooh about my refrigerator, lordy, you haven't visited and yet you know there is nothing in it! Really, just all the shelves to was down, was going to do it but decided as Sailor was pulling out more hair I'd put her in the tub and wash her, maybe that would make her feel better...holly molly, she's heavy to lift..put a towel in the tub, didn't put water in it as not for her to fret, after she was in she didn't mind at all that I was washing her, stood there like a trooper..got her out and wiped her down, sure bet she feels a lot better...she's another rash, was talking to Darlene and like we always do we try to figure what brought on a new rash..Darlene said yesterday she gave her a few doggy bones and we are thinking maybe she's allergic to the dye in them as we have been giving her natural dog treats lately...just guessing..
Left work and went to the window store and gave them measurements for my kitchen and bathroom windows so they can call me at work tomorrow with quotes, they think that the 2nd window for the bedrooms that I ordered will be in early next week, I decided that if the kitchen and washroom windows were the only ones left, I might as well get them and have them put in at same time..then off to Fabricland, most likely my last time there, hardly a think left..as I often make rag quilts I purchased 15 yards - $2.00 a yard, now that's almost nothing compared to what it usually cost, then I could resist material for another carryall bag, sure don't need another even as a gift but just loved the colors so maybe I'll make ME another one..buttons/buttons who'se got the buttons...wasn't a lot to choose from but they were 6 cards for .99 cents, some of the cards are $3.50 each..bought another 30 cards and then there was a bag with all different layers for putting embroidery thread in, now mom does all her embroidery and I'm not sure but don't think she has a bag, so, her birthday is in September, I'll pick up a few things to put in it and that will look after that..reg. $34.99 on for $5.00, there was 2 and I'm kicking myself that I didn't purchase the other one, soooo now I'm tired out, going to eat then off to bed ...
Oh can't go to bed before I say 'hi' to Tubby !!!!
Thanks for letting us know what's happening Tubby, we've all been fretting. You look after yourself until you go to the hospital on Monday, is it for tests or will you be staying in for a few days? Hugs for Shirley..
INTERVISTA???? wow, you aren't making my word of the day very easy now are you..lol hmmm
Debbie, old McDonald's farm for sure, you have a heart of gold! Now what makes you think the kittie got at him, do they usually get close? Have to say you are an excellent with negotiations, lordy, funny he didn't sell you a $500. cage..imagine, he let you out with spending only $10.00..
LOL, can almost remember the words to Johnny Angel, now you are in my era of music, those were the days...
How's Paul today? and are you feeling better and are the meds working?
Well, this time I'm really going upstairs and eating before it becomes a midnight snack
Night/night everyone..
Ohhh got to come back if I can post something with Tubby's word of the day; any ideas gals?
Hello everyone! Still no more info on the baby. She had a boy, and his name is Xavier Amedeus Malone. Say that 3 times real fast!
OMG Betty, you are toooo, kind! Those were the BEFORE pictures. LOL all that stuff is gone.
Hahahah, I wouldn't be surprised about the General peeking in, Once i waved across the street at his wife,
ackkk, she waved back!
I've been scrubba dubbing! Here is a nice picture of my fridge a clean, ROFLOL, even the top!
Like my ladder system?
MY goodness Debbie, what a story about Johnny Angel...Awe, he knows you are loving him up.
LOL, No Liz Has the Lemon pie recipe down, she was attempting to teach me how to make them...
I have since then made one other! lol.
