We came from here..
Lordy we were on a roll, just hated to switch us over...got busy this afternoon so here I am, think I'll leave reading the posts until tonight..
Scanned though to see if a baby was born
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
Wow, you guys had big babies, Greg was 8.2 oz and Jeff was 7-11oz. Had difficult time with Greg, of course I'd been in the hospital for 6 months, let me home for christmas and told me to enjoy until Jan.20 - due date, wouldn't you know back in the hospital on January 1st. New Years Day..nurses said I just couldn't stay away...Jeff was to have been born Christmas but he was born Dec. 8th SAME year, both 1969..got pregnant right away, girl, I couldn't have survived the pregnancy so they took her away..boo hoo
WOW...
I am first in the new room!! LOL
hasn't happened in ages.
Anyway Crissy, If I recall they said a normal delivery could tear the incision open!
Lets see, julia was a little over 6 lbs. Breenie, was only just under 5 she was a month early. And Jake weighed in at 8.6.
LOL, i was glad to have no choice by that time!
Betty, i feel for you, not having your baby girl. I lost a set of identicle twins at 4.5 month. Boys. But I alway said wasn't meant to be.
If I had them I would have been done, and we wouldn't have Sabrina and Jacob.
LOL, with all my blabbing , Im probably third in the room! lolol.
Betty I was 7-11, 21 inches long. I'm going to go read up in the other room and get caught up.
my DD was 7lb 1/2 oz, and my son was 11lb 9oz.....
I was only 6lbs something and DH was 7lbs and something....
Debbie-I am sure the base technology is the same, but it has been upgraded and the precautions they take now are a bit different as well...heck, they even have those gross 3-D ultrasounds (sorry-the baby always looks like an alien to me and it kinda grosses me out). Now adays they don't let you go over your due date by more than a week or so usually and if the baby presents large, they induce to reduce stress and physical complications.
Just dropped in before t.v. bingo to see if there was any news on the baby??? LindaKay what's happening??? Let me see, how many hours is that? Is she related to Lillie's mom?
Waiting for Ann to arrive, Cathy just left, her eye still look sore, she's taken last pills for shingles so let's hope no more problems..
Then Ali came to get the corner flower stand I had made, no place for it, he doesn't know where Danie wants it but said he was sure she'd put it someplace..
Have eaten yet, so maybe a bowl of cereal before Ann gets here would be n order
That sounds good, a bowl of cereal! Oh fiddle, I need to go out and water!
OMG Susan, 11 lbs. 9 oz...ouch..
Tired tonight, was trying to stay up for the night shift but yawning away..
yeah, he was c-section, for sure.
My pelvis was tipped, and I'm small boned to begin with.....
Susan, that is a huge baby!
Betty, they are Sisters! Heather, the pregnant one, is the oldest, and Ashley, one that lost the baby is the youngest.
Still no word from anyone! So I am off to bed, and hopefully will hear something in the morning.
Her water broke, Saturday night at 8:10pm. 3 days is much to long to go after the water has broken.
Night everyone!
Hello To All !
Love all the pregnancy stories! What experiences! I remember having the epidural...Debbie ...were they not available for yours?
Okay - have to start old posts to new....
Dianne... I just took Pup outside and saw the full moon and my first thought was "What a coincidence! We are having a FULL MOON TOO !!!"....
Okay - I used to be blonde - now "assisted blonde"... so I'll take any ragging you all want to dish out on that thought... at LEAST I admitted the thought !
Regarding DS... He said he wants to go to College and I REALLY want him to go but I keep my mouth shut because this needs to be his idea... since he didn't take the time to look up info... I suppose he will wait out this semester and it's killing me but he doesn't know it....
Betty & Dianne - WOW! Married at 17! I wonder if that came up with DS ....would it make him more responsible? I just don't know....
LOL Betty - ADHD!
Barb Barb Barb! HAPPY SILVER ANNIVERSARY! I was JUST about to post on here...trying to work on a golden anniv. party for the in-laws.... Never thought of a BBQ... will consider it as an option. Please let me know any ideas thoughts on what made it special for you! I've been googling "Anniversary Parties" nightly to try to think of things!
Crissy - Hm... I think Mrs. Cheerful misses you ! LOL Nice to be able to send her on her way ! :)
So Judy ... it might be okay for me to call PUP a different name than family? Because last name DH/DD suggested I can't stand.... I was just about to get on here and ask our resident Veterinarian Psychologist Debbie... if that would be "okay". I certainly don't want to cause any recurring psychological damage if I end up calling Pup a different name than DH.....ROFLOL!
When you finish redecorating your kitchen... my house is available ! LOL
Susan....((((HUGS)))) headed your way...funny how some days are just doldrum days... possibly a reason there you're just not thinking of....
I just found out my Niece has been proposed to.... and accepted. Haven't met the young man but heard really good things about him....
(((HUGS))) to Linda Kay. I know you are sometimes on at this hour...so hoping to hear some news....
Back in a bit...
Mary
No news to report! So I am off to bed, and hopefully will hear something in the morning! 3 days is much to long to go after the water has broken!
Okay Linda Kay ! (((HUGS))) to you ....Night Night !
Mary, I was more terrified of an epidural than of labor. I had to have a spinal when I was a baby...and my Mom told me stories...so I refused ANYTHING. With my first, I was allergic to a drug called caffergot.....and that is a derivitive of some medication they give you for a C-sec....so, they really wanted me to deliver her on my own. I had pre-eclampsia/toxemia severely. The doctor told me I was the first patient he almost lost in over 20 years...ended up with 5 units of blood and the 5 days in ICU. The two "middle girls" were 8.11 and 8.02 (induced) but for the most part normal deliveries. My son was not over due ...maybe 2 days tops. Doctor appologized about 50 times...said he had so much fluid in there...it distorted his actual size. Regardless...he was fine when born, and thats all I cared about.
I had a night out on the town with DH. Went to ArtPark in Lewiston, which is an outdoor theater. They had a free concert....with Sara Evans. DH just loves her. Anyway, we drove a bit over an hour to get there....and had a good time. Just something odd for us....but glad we did it.
I am now going to turn in. Busy morning tomorrow
Sweet dreams....and praying for good baby news!
Debbie
Hey Debbie! Well - That would certainly cause me to feel the same... I had no clue what was going on....just went with Dr's orders...
I am SO GLAD you and DH went to Sara Evans Concert! Wow that is Great ! I am trying SO Hard to get DH out and about with me on long weekends/weekends.
My aunt has invited us to Tallahassee... Labor Day weekend! It would be a long drive and DH has to drive for Work...so not excited to go. BUT I haven't seen my aunt /uncle (Mom's Brother) in SO SO long... I feel I really HAVE to go....and I think I want to go. I can drop by Dads house on the way....
Hugs,
Mary
Morning everyone!
Still no news about the baby! I promise, as soon as I hear anything I will pop in and tell you!
I will be at the sewing machine off and on today, trying to get some swaps caught up.
Later
Looking for baby news LK and "Oh NO" more of a wait. This must be very hard on your family after losing that sweet angel such a short time ago. It sounds like your family is very close and how wonderful that is for you.
Full moon last night and of the critters in the bush were out whaling their tale. The 2 dogs were quite good about it all but the cats went beserk racing through the house for several hours. Course they will sleep all day!
Betty I hope you find out soon about moving the phones into your home. I have a feeling you are much like me and once you have made a decision you do not like living in limbo so to say.
Mary, Brock is young, better he tries a few things now and be sure what he wants for his future than start college, hate his major and drop right out. I know as a mom it is hard to sit back and see these kids struggle with all these decisions. But remember you and your DH have raised him with a moral sense of right and wrong, lots of love and yep I bet lots of discipline. The rest is up to him.
Judy I ended up loving teaching even though I fell ito the job. After a few years of teaching Phys Ed I switched to Behavioural classes and really found my nitch. I ended up being a Behavioural Consultant for over 20 schools in the Toronto area here in Ontario. I still volunteeree at most of my schools to referee games, coah tracka and VB and yes I still had some special classes and teachers that I worked with on arts and crafts and cooking.
Need to go. Quill is here with her leash in her mouth.
Dianne
LindaKay, your niece and baby are in my thoughts and prayers...
Was up early, almost made it to the computer but remembered that the group comes painting today and I had the craft room filled with sewing projects so had to re-organize..then with Sailor and the corn starch remedy and losing her hair had to sweep and do floors..good thing about it is when I get home all is done!!!
Debbie you and DH certainly are turning a new leaf, lakefront walks, concerts ahhh to be in love!
We have Concert In the Park each and every Sunday night during the summer months but I've not been to any..should make a point of doing so however when Sunday night rolls around I'm usually exhausted.
Mary does your niece live nearby? Something to look forward to meeting her fiance...if hubby doesn't want to go to your Aunt/Uncle's could you and one or all of the children take the trip? How many hours drive 8??
Dianne, it takes a special individual to be a teacher, glad you found your niche, myself, my niche was/is being with elders but now I find I'm an elder myself..yikes, where did the years go?
Sky was so heavy the past few nights you couldn't see anything up there..maybe full moon is what is making everyone jittery in the office these past few days or not knowing the 'known'
As you say, I had thought about it for quite some time about retiring, had my mind made up and then this was suggested and now I sit and wait and you all know how patient I am..NOT!!!
Tubby, looking all over for your post, word of the day, just a 'hi'..starting to fret!
Bev/Scotty, you are both in my thoughts as well
Judy, did you find some interesting decorating tips anywhere that you are considering? I got the Better Homes and Gardens magazine last night, went through it, lordy there was a gorgeous garden with garden art in it, says you can log in and get the design pattern for same, might just do that this morning, but, they were advertizing paint and listed some beige/tans etc, looked so soothing ..haven't painting my living room/dining room in 5 years, almost time for a change, only thing with that is once you change the color a zillion things are needed to compliment..
I am sooo Singing Good Morning!!
Ahhh, Everyone is back to sch oooll. LOL, Ohwah, first day and We were 20 minutes early, ha gotta write that down, record breaker...
LOL, As they were walking away, I was giggling, shooing them off with my hands telling them go, go and have a great first day. To my delight even Sabrina was giggling, yippee I hope this means it will be a great year.
Plus it's a Gorgeous Day, Steve turned off the AC, So I have been dancing around the house opening windows and doors, Come on in fresh air!
Really worried about the baby.
Speaking of babies, Debra, Cordeldawg's 2nd grand daughter was born Thursday, 10/19 6 lbs 19 1/4 long! Haley Brook.
Had to have surgery immediately and all went beautifully! Havent talked with Deborah in a very long time, so I was so, glad she called to update me.
Betty, I am doing the Clean sweep kind of cleaning. LOL, Yep, I DO trust you all, but I dare not take a picture of my Kitchen just yet! Once it scrubbed down, then i will take a pic and toss out the thoughts in my head, colors and such. Yesterday I went shopping and got all the cleaning stuff, i think is needed. ran out of soft scrub...LOL, re-discovered I love the good old fashion Comet!
OH holy Traffic! I can not wait until all this construction is done, my gosh they are at tale end, finished all the work by the bridges!! We were excited the roads opened up. Then wouldn't you know, Up went more barrels, both side all the to the bridge!! Now they are tearing up small sections replacing the wire and re-filling! Grrrr, now why could they do that while they had it all closed up for what 1.5 years???
Every busy road is in the same fashion!!! It is just insane.
Crissy, LOL on the Gorgeous wood! Well, i guess i like the design of it. OH my, missed the story of the day, (Mrs Cheerful) have to go back and find that post!!
Dianne, Schooling was lucky to have found You! OHHH, I just love that you still volunteer! I have always wanted to teach, but grades were to low to get into college, but, My first real job, I was a PE Teachers aid! OH MY Gosh, i just loved it. That was at Misericordia Home, a place for Children of Down Syndrom and other Illnesses. Anyway I got To work with the Special Olympics! Got to tell you that was the Turning point giving me the will to continue on with Life! I thank God for that remarkable experience.
OMG look at the time already, Time to clean the kitchen, so i can Clean the kitchen, lol.
Check in at a break.
Have a great Morning!
Morning all...
Lil injun...you do have a way with words!
Betty...do not push it woman. That whole "to be in love" almost made me spew coffee.....all it means is I am running out of spots to bury bodies! ROFL Walking the lake...a good swift kick and the waves pull him out. (evil grin). Yes, we are "trying" and with all the stuff going on, it is hard.
Speaking of DH....he is having major eye issues. Sure could use some prayers. He has had a headache last two days....called the doctor yesterday afternoon, and was to be at office at 8:00 this morning. Well, he has high "eye pressure" and also a scratch on his cornea. They are worried about the eye pressure....with whats going on. Don't know if it is a glaucoma starting....or if his "drainage" system behind the eye is messed up due to the last two surgeries.
TUBBY...we really need to hear from you and Shirley.
Bev, how are you doing Sunshine? How was cardiac rehab? Is Scotty behaving....notice how Betty and I always ask if he is behaving, we can tell by his grin he is a handfull. So proud of you that you realize those flowers WILL be there next season....and you need to get yourself healthy.
Judy, I am longing....big time...for Sept. 7th! Then you and I will have an RC for breakfast and celebrate all the kids being in school. Of course it is DS's senior year...so thats a bit emotional....but I am willing to deal with it! lol Shannon started classes for college on Monday...so she is gone part of the time, plus work. You and Skittles have the house to yourself. lol
Ineed more coffee.....was up early with the dog, and also concerned about DH.
Mary...take that trip ...make DH go, and maybe you can share the drive. You really need to do that.
can't believe there is still no baby news. Shaking head.
Debbie
Tubby, this one's for you..know how you like 'joke of the day'
Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer when he hears a knock at the door.
When he opens it, he is confronted by a little Chinese man, clutching a clip board and yelling,
'You Sign! You sign!'
Behind him is an enormous truck full of car exhausts.
Nelson is standing there in complete amazement, when the Chinese man starts to yell louder,
'You Sign! You sign!'
Nelson says to him, 'Look, you've obviously got the wrong man', and shuts the door in his face.
The next day he hears a knock at the door again.
When he opens it, the little Chinese man is back with a huge truck of brake pads.
He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, yelling,
'You sign! You sign!'
Mr Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little Chinese man back, shouting:
'Look, go away! You've got the wrong man. I don't want them!' Then he slams the door in his face again.
The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again.
On opening the door, there is the same little Chinese man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, shouting,
'You sign! You sign!'
Behind him are TWO very large trucks full of car parts.
This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little Man by his shirt front and yells at him:
'Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?'
The little Chinese man looks very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and says:
(It's a beauty)
(Wait for it)
(Get your best Chinese accent ready)
'You not Nissan Main Deala?'
Now that's over with, waving Judy, you are on a 'high today'..you might just rub off on me, need to clean the cupboards, going to look for another rainy day though to do that...I so love that I'm able to open all the doors/windows to, nice breeze, nice to have the a/c on but lordy nothing like mother nature making a smell fresh odor inside the house. Good luck with organizing and redocorating...oh I can remember the first day of school, how wonderful to feel the freedom, nothing better than getting your life back!
Debbie, are you able to take Paul in for a consultation to see what's happening..don't think he rested long enough do you? I got a kick out of your description of burried bodies..you are just too funny!
Here is another one for you Tubby!
Bob Hill and his new wife Betty were vacationing in Europe near Transylvania. They were driving in a rental car along a rather deserted highway. It was late and raining very hard. Bob could barely see the road in front of the car. Suddenly, the car skids out of control! Bob attempts to control the car, but to no avail! The car swerves and smashes into a tree.
Moments later, Bob shakes his head to clear the fog. Dazed, he looks over at the passenger seat and sees his wife unconscious, with her head bleeding! Despite the rain and unfamiliar countryside, Bob knows he has to get her medical assistance.
Bob carefully picks his wife up and begins trudging down the road. After a short while, he sees a light. He heads towards the light, which is coming from a large, old house. He approaches the door and knocks.
A minute passes. A small, hunched man opens the door. Bob immediately blurts, "Hello, my name is Bob Hill, and this is my wife Betty. We've been in a terrible accident, and my wife has been seriously hurt. Can I please use your phone?"
"I'm sorry," replied the hunchback, "but we don't have a phone. My master is a doctor; come in, and I will get him!"
Bob brings his wife in.
An older man comes down the stairs. "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor; I am a scientist.. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had a basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."
With that, Igor picks up Betty and carries her downstairs, with Bob following closely.. Igor places Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapses from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor places Bob on an adjoining table.
After a brief examination, Igor's master looks worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion." Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill are no more.
The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbs the steps to his conservatory, which houses his grand piano. For it is here that he has always found solace. He begins to play, and a stirring, almost haunting melody fills the house.
Meanwhile, Igor is still in the lab tidying up. His eyes catch movement, and he notices the fingers on Betty's hand twitch, keeping time to the haunting piano music. Stunned, he watches as Bob's arm begins to rise, marking the beat! He is further amazed as Betty and Bob both sit up straight!
Unable to contain himself, he dashes up the stairs to the conservatory.
He bursts in and shouts to his master:
"Master, Master!.....The Hills are alive with the sound of music!"
(I am soooooo sorry.....but you really should've seen that one coming!!)
Time for a quick break!
OMG, talk about Laughing...I love those jokes, I have got to tell them to Steve!
Tubby, Hope you enjoyed those too.
...Hmmmm, Hoping you are doing Well, missing you!
Hiya Sistah Sunshine! Was so glad to see you had such a wonderful Birthday Bash for your MOM! Your dinner sounded so yummy.
Thanks Betty, Well decided to take pictures of the before, so you all can get an idea...it has taken me since my last post to clear the walls, fridge, the cabinet. Above the fridge, I was scared to find what was inside! LOL just baskets. Oh and some napkins, like i could reach way up and back there, I think they were like 10 years old, now there NO Years old threw them out! Had two huge bulletin boards on the walls, They will not be returned...nor will the Kids "art" from like pre-k....ROFLOL talk about hoarding, Will have to box those up with all their other "Works of Art" I save some of the better pieces and few of the Uh yeah thank you its beautiful kinds of art. I figure it will come in handy, when they are faced with the same....A little story, Carol Bear saved her DS's items in a box. He found them after she passed and He was SOOO surprised that she kept them, lol even a button he thought she might like.
Anyway, hahaha, in the drawer i found some knives, LOL, you can't even slice soft butter with, and a bunch of pieces of paper and coupons from 2 years ago, UH think they expired...
Thanks for the giggles ...smoke done coffee break over.
BBL...With some pics, battery dying on camera!
Judy did you say 'SMOKE break' hands on hip here...
Amazing at the things we keep..I should go over my drawers as well, the cutlery drawer is filled with I'm sure 10 knives that can't cut; Saturday morning I bought an electric knife because Greg was complaining the other day when I asked him to slice roast beef..said he couldn't..you just might start a trend, clean cupboards
LindaKay, NOPE didn't see it coming..but did get a good laugh.
Clouding over, did say it might rain this afternoon so guess they were right.
ooooooooooooooooh LINDA!! "The Hills are alive with the sound of music"???????
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Rofl!!!!!!!!!!
I have GOT to send that one to my DD - she loves that movie LOL
Bet we've all seen that movie once or twice in our time?
LOL, both those movies! Hahah, still giggling over here.
Oh my gosh, taking a lunch break!
Yep Debbie, sure wish I had an RC! I think I will get a 6 pack for Our Sept. 7 Back to school celebration!
Plus that is Bears Birthday! I usually drop everything Have a brownie, Enjoy a Rum and Coke while spending the whole day watching movies! She would be 51, Geeze can't tease her about being old!
OH My Gosh, Skittles is just going crazy, I've got the tunes cranking away, we are just a cleaning and singing and Dancing!!
Playing Peekaboo....
Now, Debbie, i am so sorry to hear about Paul's eyes. Does he have special drops? When Steve and Breenie had scratched cornia they had to put drops in and lay with eyes closed for like half hour. I hope that is is just a cornia tear. The other pressure behind the eye doesn't sound good at all...he's been in my thoughts all day...Also, wanted to mention how wonderful you and Dh took that ride and had such a nice time.
LOL, Julia just started back to College on Monday, and Sabrina is a Senior this year...Did DS take his Graduation photos yet?
Is Shannon back at that same college? I hope it's a better year for her.
Betty, Do you know how long it's been since I played tunes, Wow Waaay too long...I, wanna rock and roll all night...that's what's on now.
How is your day going? What are you working on or watching?
Well Lunch time over...Breenie gets out in 1 hour, Betty got to laugh, It's not the Alone time I enjoy when they are at school, it's the not having to drop everything to run them around. Already got the Kitchen part of Kitchen just about finished! Hahah, Fridge looks Brand spankin New.ROFLOL at least the outside anyway.
Ok be back in a bit.
Judy, Shannon is "at" the same college....but commuting. She is NOT cut out for dorms. So, goes to off campus sites closer to home.
We go soon for the Senior Pictures. I can't afford the ones the school does, so just going to Sears for the "yearbook"shot.....and I will do his "family" ones myself. I love doing that stuff....and he has been letting me practice. lol
Judy, I have not had RC since I found out I was pre-diabetic.....I am so waiting for Sept. 7th. We can celebrate Bears birthday! LOL
Still no news on the little one!
I have seen that movie several times, and will probably watch it several more...
My DD watched Sound Of Music from the time she was very very little, and it's her all-time favourite movie ^_^
I emailed her the joke, and I'll just bet she's "roaring" with laughter!
LindaKay, she must have had the baby and is annoyed that everyone was pressuring her and just isn't posting..surely that's it...couldn't possibly be that she's still in labor, if she is, she's edging 'danger' point.
Still saying prayers and waiting for your news..can see you sewing a mile a minute because of the stress, know when I get mad I sure can work!
It was funny Judy, last Friday when I went to the fabric store in Elmvale to check on fabric for LindaKay, right next door was a nostalgia store, weren't they playing the real 'rock & roll' of our day,I even danced up and down the aisle, told those shopping that we should have a good old fashion sing-a-long and dance...which we did for a few minutes, not so sure they didn't think I was nutzzzzoo!
I can imagine you and Skittles singing and dancing to tunes, Skittles using wings..maybe you should put a movie camera to capture it and send it to America's favorite funnies.
I'm always in awe of your dedication to make Bears' day a special day. As years go by some don't 'remember' as they once did, you do and I'm sure there is a way that she lets you know she's with you. 51..not old Judy...if you think it is I'm in big trouble.
Debbie, you are great with photography, both you and Bev, can't imagine why you'd want to pay the big $$$ when I'm sure you can do equally as well
Susan, what did you get into today?
Betty - I went to the gym, practiced my singing for Sunday, got a call from a friend (physician I worked for, and was taking us out for dinner tonight....) whose wife is suffering from cancer, and she's not well. He's heading back home to Brandon, Mb to be with her, so obviously the dinner is cancelled.
I watered my garden/yard, too.
I got a call from someone who saw my resume asking me to go to a seminar tonight and learn about World Financial Brokerage. We'd gone there about 3 years ago, and I'd decided then not to be "self-employed". The very thought of it scares the dickens out of me!!!
but...... he seems to think I'd be good at it, etc. I just called my DH and he agrees - being self-employed is a worse case scenario than it was then! So, I'd better text the fella & tell him "thanks, but no thanks" ^_^
Some of these 'self employed' work schemes aren't always the best thing to get into..take your time, I'm sure something will come up shortly, in the meantime look after 'you'..Let's hope his wife is ok....so, now you have to cook din/din...
Dropped in before I find the couch so I could check if Linda Kay posted on the baby but no go, lordy I've had a headache all day, might not be a bad thing to lay down, close my eyes and relax..wouldn't want to be sick on the weekend!
