You guys all make me cry. You are all such wonderful people. HUGS BEV
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends!
Bev was having heart problems all of last week but felt if she behaved things would improve...sent prayers...
Bev, glad you dropped by..sweetie, we all care for you, you weren't doing more than you should were you?
Posted on her thread.
Mary, did I hear a rumor it was your birthday? HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY! Lot of hugs for a Happy day!
My itches are still going crazy...and the benedryl is knocking me on my behind.
Debbie I'm going to come up there and give you a swift kick so you'll forget all about those itchies! LOL!!!
Debbie, have you stopped taking the meds, is it just a matter of time now for the meds you are allergic to be out of your system..what a terrible feeling, itchy and can't do anything about it.
Crissy, you are back at it I see, all better? can't take real sick days, got to save them for vacation days right? any news on Dave and the company he thought he might have employment with?
Listening to the news this morning, we didn't get rain but Toronto got hit and a lot of fires due to lightning strikes, one young man that was playing football in early 20's is fighting for his life..it came so sudden and passed as quickly..
Did go out and put up all my windows, looked like it might rain but it's passed us by again, blue sky, light breeze and wind.
omygosh! Bev - posted on your prayer thread!
My eyesight must be getting bad - I thought the "heart attack" said BETTY at first.
Bev - please take care of yourself, and be gentle on your heart........
Susan, I'm as healthy as a horse, well maybe a horse with a sore back..lol..but entirely MY FAULT!!!
Sitting here watching the trees sway from side to side, hope it blows humidity away..
Linda my cousin called this morning to ask when our trip to Buffalo was, wants to do the craft show in Hamburg as well (sure hope Debbie joins us this year) and I got to looking at my planner, yikes and more yikes, I need to spend September resting so that I'll have enough energy for Oct/Nov/Dec....shaking my head..thank goodness I'm ahead of the game for the word, you know the one you don't want to hear!
We can't take vacation as sick days and visa versa, if we're caught bee bopping around town and we have called in sick, that's an automatic fire. I get 8 hours vacation time a month, and double that for sick leave.
We won't be hearing anything about that for awhile, their projected date to start hiring people is October 30th.
"don't want to hear"........... you must mean that "december Thang........."
I don't start stressing on that until September, so There!!
Here's a site on "Muscle Mist" for Canada. I'm sure it's in the states as well......
http://www.musclemist.ca/
I start stressing about that Dec. thing...about Dec. 22. LOL
Too cute Debbie..you like the hustle and bustle I gather!
Are you getting the winds we're getting right now?
Susan, wow, lots of product for what ails you isn't there...I used to have, and maybe I do have some muscle spray that I bought when I was at a craft show in Fort Myers Florida back years ago, might go in search of it.
Wondered why I 've not got ANY new calls of late, Suzanne mentioned that she's so far behind in files, (too many) but that's good that Paul took the adv. off the radio for a few weeks or until we open and get ready for the 4 offices to run independently sooo it's movies at my desk, some sewing and total boredom..
Susan, that sounds like what we call biofreeze. I get it from the chiropractor, and it works pretty good. Just spray it on, and at first it feels cool, then gets a little warm. It works good on mosquito bites also!
http://www.biofreeze.com/products.php
I love Biofreeze, almost as much as Ben Gay!
it is easy to apply, just spray! it is about $12.00 for a 118ml bottle, but it goes a long way!
No wind here Betty, it is actually sunny & beautiful...high today 79. Jeanna said storms roared through her area last night...about 20 miles south east of us. If we got them....I slept right through.
Lordy it's a long day ..
Any suggestions lol
Ohhh I'll go find a joke for "Tubby"
I broke out laughing at this one Tubby...
There is a factory in Northern Minnesota which makes the Tickle Me Elmo toys. The toy laughs when you tickle it under the arms. Well, Lena is hired at The Tickle Me Elmo factory and she reports for her first day promptly at 8:00 AM.
The next day at 8:45 AM there is a knock at the Personnel Manager's door. The Foreman throws open the door and begins to rant about the new employee. He complains that she is incredibly slow and the whole line is backing up, putting the entire production line behind schedule.
The Personnel Manager decides he should see this for himself, so the 2 men march down to the factory floor. When they get there the line is so backed up that there are Tickle Me Elmo's all over the factory floor and they're really beginning to pile up. At the end of the line stands Lena surrounded by mountains of Tickle Me Elmo's.
She has a roll of plush red fabric and a huge bag of small marbles. The 2 men watch in amazement as she cuts a little piece of fabric, wraps it around two marbles and begins to carefully sew the little package between Elmo's legs.
The Personnel Manager bursts into laughter. After several minutes of hysterics he pulls himself together and approaches Lena. "I'm sorry," he says to her, barely able to keep a straight face, "but I think you misunderstood the instructions I gave you yesterday..."
"Your job is to give Elmo two test tickles."
Lots of wind here to Betty. Nice rain for several hours yesterday so I didn't have to drag the hoses around this morning. Thank goodness we use lake water for the gardens.
Have any of you planted and raised Tree Lilies? DH is getting started on building me a new 30 sq ft garden near my Memory Garden for all of the bulbs I just ordered and yes the 3 Tree Lilies I ordered and the 3 DH managed to add to the order. Don't ask but between you ,me and the fence post the lovely lady of the phone conned DH into ordering the extra Tree Lilies thereby cancelling out the extra $15.00 I was eligible to deduct as well as the $50.00 .lol I asked him if she sounded cute? He said well you wanted some.
Positive thoughts for Bev. You take care of your self missy!
Chrissy it is good to hear the 'pep' in your posts again. Hope you are all finished with the grunge.
Hugs to sweet Sailor. My last Samoyed Anastasia was a severe diabetic as well as getting on in years. My biggest wish was to get her here to the new house we built in 2001. She did alright, I brought her down to the new house (from the farm house near the road) early moving day morning as she was blind as well and I didn't want her to get scared and confused. She was like a pup again frolicing around, even went into the lake for a swim. To make a long story short she died that night. BUT Ana and I did make it down to the new house together.Sailor will tell you Betty when it is time, I have no doubts about that.
Going for my walk now before what looks like rain hits.
Dianne
Dianne, I have seen tree Lilies advertized but don't think I've seen or I haven't paid attention when I've been to nurseries..be pleased that the sale person got your hubby to purchase more.lol..pretty or not,you get to enjoy the beauty of them..your Memory garden will be a lot of work for both of you but it's something I'm sure you'll take great pride in. Any special design, flowers/shrubs you are planning to use? What a lovely story about Anastasia, she was holding on until you both got to your new home..
All day it looked like rain but no go..that was one of the perks about living on Little Lake (Trent Waterway System) you could water the gardens all you wanted and you never ran out. They have odd/even watering days, because my address is #18 (even #) I get to water tonight.
Think rather than emptying the dehumidifier in the laundry tub I should use it for my watering.
Betty..........Ho Ho
Hi girls.....
New word for Betty..................
What they used on me looking for where I'm leaking blood....
.................................Decoder.......................
Tubby
Did they find it Tubby, or have you heard.
Crissy
Not that I know of......
Tubby
Dianne thank you!
I had a Samoyed who passed away when he was 11 from Congestive Heart Failure, I was 18 when he died. He just kept getting slower and slower, we took him to the vet to get dewormed, he had a hard time with worms his whole life and they always groomed the animals after getting procedures done for an extra fee of course, he died when he was in the middle of being dried.
Ok Tubby.
Dropping in for a few seconds, been one of those nights, Diane, then Greg, then Ann and 2 phone calls..didn't even get din/din and my tummy is saying feed me...
That one Tubby might be a hard one..hmmmm
Glad you posted..thought the joke might bring you out! lol
OMG, kids...Greg came to cut the tin for the roof, ok, noticed I moved it further into the bush, 'why' 'who moved it' 'what where you thinking to move something that took 5 men to move it in the first place?' then 'I just don't understand you mom, why would you go find wood almost 100 years old, work in putting it together only to hide it in a bush, why?' , 'know you have a plan but why not put it where you can see it?' just shook my head and said 'you don't have to know why-I know why and that's where I want it' he was still going on and on when Ann got here..she listened to him for a bit and she said, 'he's one good kid' yep, but I said 'he just needs to know too much' both starting laughing...'I'll always have Roger around while he's here with me'...because I had company I showed him what I wanted done and he'll drop in tomorrow night with screws for the metal roof and his grinder for a few places I used screws that were a tad long..oh yes, 'why if you are doing something did you not use the right size screws?' my comment, 'wanted to do it NOW so used what I had' I must drive him crazy..
Mary, someone said it was your birthday today..happy birthday sweetie but for some reason I think it's Tuesday or Wednesday..must go look..
Crissy, nothing like leaving this earth while being pampered...
Animals are big a big loss..
Got to get something in my tummy, hope to be back to do Tubby's word, if not, first thing in the morning... hmmm
DECODER...I'm think spy???? war time??? wouldn't have thought about it as a health instrument..guess this will be my 'what did I learn today' right?
Betty, you don't remember the "lucky decoder rings" that used to come in Cracker Jacks and boxes of cereals?
Itchy here is going to bed....appt. tomorrow at 3:20 with the Derm. doctor. Am on benedryl and zyrtec until then! Sleep several hours...take pill...sleep several ours. Yep, thats been my day!
Good night
Hello To All !
Well - Betty - I suppose it's a Week Long Celebration LOL! DH is 8/12, I am 8/18...so it always seems like a week long celebration ! BUT DH is a LOT older than me... he is 46.... I'll just be 45 :)
Thank you Linda Kay, Susan, Debbie, Everyone for the Birthday wishes !
Betty - you are right.... it is getting so difficult to get everyone together... especially these teens/young adults with their crazy work schedules. We need a family meeting with just the 5 of us...and I honestly don't know when we'll have a chance! Need to discuss Puppy... of course keeping her...but want EVERYONE on board as it's gonna be quite a chore to raise a puppy.
DD16 and I took puppy to the vet today... excited to have the Vet DECODER and let us know "What" she is.
(you ready Debbie?) Drum roll please....
He says "Lab and Terrier". Deb hit the nail on the head with Terrier...
(((Okay - that's a "Stretch" with decoder.... I just HAD to throw it in there... LOL!)))
Be back in a bit !
Hugs,
Mary
PS: Pic is my new 'background' on my computer. ♥
((HUGS)) Bev! Please keep us posted on how you are doing! And DH as well...
Linda Kay - I have some Biofreeze but didn't know it was good for mosquitos :)
Betty - I almost think I am on Greg's 'side' with this one... isn't that a LOT for you to be moving by yourself?
Dianne - what a sweet story... she found her 'home' and it was her time to go...
Thought a lot about that today. Last time I stepped foot in this vet was to let Indy go... it was March 12, 2009. I really knew that it was his time. Hard to let them go. Betty - I agree... it's not Sailor's time yet...because if it were... you would have no doubt in your mind... You are so close to the furries....
Hugs,
Mary
Betty, I AM on Gregs sides with this one well sorta...I love the idea!! Buttttt you should NOT have moved the thing!!!!!
((((((((((((((Bev))))))))))))))))
Mary, that pup is just too cute! and I just loved your use of the word decoder.
I had sore muscles, but I also had fresh mosquito bites, After I sprayed the biofreeze, it took the itch out of the bites.
We have a cat, named Baby (cuz we had her mother, and watched her being born Plus the fact that she laid in our arms like a baby - belly up lol).
I tried so very hard to want her, but she's my DH's cat f'sure.
I had a cat for 11 years - Nermal - and I loved him dearly (about 17 yrs ago). He used to sit in my lap like a lap dog, and he was my cat. Even now it makes me sad that I had to put him down. He kept getting blockages, and we had to put a collar on him, and I would have to medicate him all the time. The 2nd year he got it again, and it was just too much for him, I made the decision. Ever since, I can't get close to a cat because it hurts so to think I would lose them. So...... I distance myself from our cat, Baby. She loves Bob dearly (he can do Anything with that silly ole thing!!!), and she lays by me when I'm on the computer, or sits in my spot when I'm not there.
Thank you Barefoot !
Linda Kay - I WILL try that.. mosquitos have been out in force this year !
Susan♪♫ - I completely understand ! I had a cat "Ginger" in college. When "she" (she was a he as it turns out) passed on... I even went to the local shelter to volunteer petting the cats to try to get over the loss. I finally got another cat years later...
Oh Tubby - Much as I don't want to post this ... I just HAVE to... My Aunt sent this to me today. Forgive me ! You've probably seen it before...

Happy Birthday Mary - you share my oldest's DN"s birthday. He is going to be 50 this year and I am freaking. When I was 10 and he was born it didn't seem so bad but now - wow! Your pup is a darling, what a cute face. You are smart to get everybody on board about the taking care of the dog as you know if you don't YOU will end up doing it all. I laughed till I cried about your laundry story. Not quite sure how your son is related to my DH but that was something he did about 38 years ago to appease me.My late MIL did not allow the boys to do anything for themselves.
Crissy ,Sammies are something special aren't they? Their temperment is so different than other dogs in many ways it takes some getting used to. My last 2 Sams from different breeders were both diabetics as they grew older. Thanks Goodness I had lots of experience giving insulin shots to my dad.
Betty glad Greg popped over to see what DM had done.lol How did your DGS feel being left at camp?Poor kid! My parents made me go to camp 2 years in a row - there wasn't a third!
LK very interested in that biofreeze!
Susan sounds like you are ready for Labour Day Weekend. Where are you headed to camp?
Tubby you take good care of yourself. Ya gotta find out where you sprung a leak!!
Debbie hope you and your itchies have a calmer night. That Benedryl should help you sleep.
Sweet dreams everybody, I am off to read.
Dianne
Hi, We are back...
As soon as logged in, Saw about (((((((((((((Bev))))))))))))))))
Went directly to Prayer forum.
Bev, I am so sorry this has happened...
Sending up prayers and thoughts, as i type too.
Betty, Saw what you did, sorry, was too mad to post!! Will tell you though, you are so lucky I've no money on my calling card, or you would have heard from me right then and there...Will stop the rant now, (only cause some lurkers don't know me) LOL, But, just know, Hand on the hip shaking head AND finger at you, Don't do that again, Palease!! Love you way too much.
OK, seriously rant over.
Mary, OMG, what a cutie, Lucy is, glad you got that photo on desktop...So, Can we safely say she is yours now? But then lol, just look at her, i think she is saying, you all are hers!!
Debbie, my goodness, I hope you are feeling better, not quite sure whats up, but i see your on meds that are making you sleep!
Well, just wanted to pop in to say hi, we just got back, as stated above, Sort of just scanned the weekend,
Betty, big hugs, didn't mean to yell at ya, just sorta slipped off my fingers!
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow....Guess what am going to work with Steve tomorrow!! yep i am excited.
Uh, his crew is missing, sick and or on vacation, He needs an experienced painter LOL(of walls, not art) So, He asked me finally if I would help him, woohooo. Yikes, 5:30 is in 5 hours, I gotta get bed.
Oh, and we had a great weekend, will tell you about it on the morrow!
Hope you had a good one too.
Good Night
P.S. Tubby, my goodness words are getting tougher by the day, lol...Your keeping us Sharp.
Dianne, Sammies are very special, Snowball wouldn't growl, we heard him growl once, it scared him and he never did it again. He was afraid of EVERYTHING. And talking, boy he loved talking, arroo arrooooo rrr rrrrrr aarroooo. Was a good dog but we had him in a normal sized backyard and had to keep him chained up or he would dig out. My dad bought an electric fence, he pawed at it till it broke, then out he went! I'll probably never have another one because I just don't have it in me to keep up with the upkeep on them.
LOL Betty!
Let's see... Decoder... hhmmmmmm
Judy tell us about your weekend!
Dianne - we're heading to Pincher Creek's Sleepy Hollow Campground.
It's so nice! I took pictures, but haven't posted them yet (my bad.......)
Morning all, yikes, for some reason I was busy this morning, should have gotten up at 4:30am rather than 5:30am..lol..shouldn't say 'for some reason' because I know why I was short of time, Had to sweep and dust because of all of that corn starch I put on Sailor, doing the trick, drying up the massive sores but what a mess..Sailor does seem better today, still giving her benadryl pills (2) each morning and each night..eases the itch..ooops sure hope your itch subsides Debbie, can't imagine being itchy all the time..then I sat for 1 hours and finished a pocket bag that Suzanne had asked me to make, doing 6 but 2 are for her..brought it into the office and remembered she's off today..Roger's mom (my MIL Nora) fell and broke her arm so Suzanne is taking her for her cast today..then walked the gardens and picked some weeds, lordy, I put grass seed down, think the wind blew it all into my gardens..grass has bare spots, but boy oh boy is the grass growing in along with my plants...yuk..
Then I saw that if you have cable t.v. which I do Rogers provides the service, that I can access and download onto my computer and get same as I do on t.v. on the computer..so registered for that this morning when I got to the office but ran into a glitch so waiting for them to call and tell me why I'm only getting clips...
Another quiet day here, brought in crochet, also my stick with all my photo's on, might try and clean up the folders and re-arrange in categories so between the 2 and movies I should be ok..
Oh boy, how did I know you would agree with Greg that I should NOT have moved the shed all on my own..lol..but I did, and once landscaping is done around it I'm sure Greg will see the purpose of 'hiding'it..ahhh, he couldn't understand why I would leave the door open??? duh, how will you see the pretties inside if I keep the door closed...men, (pardon me Tubby) just can't get gardening art..nope..
Tubby, when my niece was over on the weekend, she spend much time on her cel...now if I didn't know abbreviations (and I really don't) I would have to purchase the following if I wanted to know what she was saying..
Let's all go look for the 'Teen Chat Acronym Decoder' so we can understand what the youth of today are really saying online or on text.
Ever wonder what your child is really saying online?
We should monitor their online activity, but it's really frustrating when they use abbreviations and acronyms when chatting online or cellphones and we have absolutely no idea of the content..
Now some acronyms are pretty easy to figure out, like “LOL” (Laugh Out Loud), but many made no sense at all – unless you were 15!
So several years ago a firm put together the largest “Teen Acronym Only” database on the net. Teen Chat Decoder was designed to help parents understand what their kids were “really” saying online and to help keep them safe.
Just start typing the term you wish to search for below. When you do, our teen chat term database will automatically start to display all possible results for your search.
Now "Tubby" what do you think of that DECODER??? wish you had one when your children were younger...lol
Pressing 'send' then up to read more posts and post again..did learn my lesson, don't want to do long post and have them floating in cyberspace
Debbie, must have been after my time, don't remember getting decoder rings in Cracker jack boxes, but remember I couldn't wait to purchase a box, not fond of the popcorn but sure did enjoy getting a 'surprise' - good luck at the Doctor's today, hopefully they can come up with something to ease the itch.
Mary, love the jokes, laughing to myself here..too funny..love the one about the judge but then I read the burial one and burst out loud..
Glad you are having a meeting with family, you are right, if (know you are) keeping the puppy then everyone should be helping out, best get the rules straight right at the beginning...
You still haven't said what you are asking for re birthday??? must be something??? hope they spoil the heck out of you.I just love birthdays, especially MINE! oooh you are much like Judy, she doesn't just celebrate the day, the week, her's goes on for the entire month...too cute!
Judy, glad to see you post, wondered how things went at the cottage, now did MIL go with you, did she enjoy or did she change her mind...guess right about now you are painting up a storm..hey, maybe you should quit looking for a job and work along side Steve...no, I worked with Roger for several years, my being his boss, didn't work out too well, carries back to the homestead..but a few days here and there would help you earn your craft money!
Dianne, laughing about your comment on Tubby springing a leak, sure wish it was that simple on finding these leaks...as for Kyle, Greg said he was very unhappy about going, just want to let you know the reasoning behind them MAKING him go..Kyle had asperger syndrom, the mildest and highest functioning end of the Autism Spectrum. has difficulties other than 1 on 1 with social interaction, needs interests and activities which are repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behavior i.e. interests and activies..
Pressing send
