Tubby
You is so Tubby...you just relaxing today?
Crissy meant to say I looked at your photo's of Eureka Springs..omg how I'd love to do those boutiques, how far exactly from your place is it?
The newlyweds look like babes...she lookes no more than 18..I should talk I was 17...
Betty I was out for a while today and just now realized I had a phone message. It was Ann!!! I'm so sorry I wasn't home when she called. Is she coming tonight for Bingo? If so, I'll call then. I'll call a few minutes before 8. Okay?
Betty
Your new word is...
................................Anesthetist...................................
Tubby
sliding right into new AC'd room!
Well, Betty and Debbie, you are sweet to stick up for the kids, Unfortunately either of the ways you were hoping for was the reason.
Apparently Sabrina was sitting very close to the table, first Julia tried to squeeze by and knocked the table over. She righted it and replaced the things back on top...Not 10 minutes later Jenny came home and she too, tried to squeeze by knocking the table to the floor a 2nd time and it then broke in 3! Now, I understand accidents happen and i was very glad that no one was hurt. My anger was from the way it was left! all the stuff lay on the on deck, shards of broken glass and my plant I was trying to root, lay on the deck with no water!! At least the table top was removed. Then i had to clean it all up. When I asked about my table this morning, Jenny said, what table?!!! I was a little more then upset with that answer , I said my table on the deck that is now in pieces in the sunroom!! She OMG, I am so sorry, I forgot!! Said she was sorry again for breaking the table. I said, well accidents happen but I didn't appreciate having to clean it up. Poor kid has been staying clear of me....LOL, she doesn't know me too well yet and you know, I had my say and it's over...As soon as Julia got up, she told me her part of the story no questions asked. Shaking my head, I didnt get how someone could Forget breaking something that big, LOL.
Anyway Yep, Debbie that birdie would be your Skittles. hehehe, later i was looking for my shoes, I said aloud Where are my shoes? LOL, yep talking to my self, She said What? Whatsup? She is just too cute.
My goodness Tubby, can't wait to see what Betty says with the new word, lol think i have to look it up!
LOL, Tubby, DUH on my part!
Here's the link of Eureka Springs weekend getaway pictures again, for those who didn't see them on the other thread.
http://picasaweb.google.com/christinepix/EurekaSprings8710?authkey=Gv1sRgCLLYkqiIsb6JkwE#
Betty it's 3 to 4 hours drive, depending upon how many times you stop along the way.
LOL Judy, kids are hilarious, I don't believe that she forgot that she broke it for 2 seconds, she was afraid of getting in trouble. Boy does that remind me of me!
Goodness you all have been chatty today! Judy, glad to hear your getting bird kisses. Aren't they sweet?
Tubby, glad ot hear you posting also. Hope your feeling a bit better?
Evening all, just heading to bed..
Tubby, got to dream about how I'll use your word..bet I wake up with it on my mind...
Had a lovely evening, met Ann in town, we shopped at Fabricland, ooops bought materials for another rag quilt, pretty bad when you make things and have no one left to give them to but here's my thoughts..Jeff has been going out off and on when both have free time, been since last year so if they are together at Christmas and it's only 4 months away really, then everyone shouldn't get homemade gifts and not she..if he's not still with her then guess someone else will get it..lol..sister Sharon is coming up on Saturday for part of the day, wants me to get her started with a rag quilt as well, so they had the rotary cutter and matt on for 66% off so got her one (same as the one I got Melanie the other day for a Xmas gift)..buttons, off the rack, some $4.98 - got 3 pkgs. for .99 gee I love these sale, better end soon or I'll be out of funds...
Then we got Chinese and Ann spent the evening here, we washed all the flannel, I told her how she had to cut it and off she went...
I layed the new rug down, that wasn't one of my smartest moves, lordy you don't have a dog that is in and out, often laying in mud, kitty who does same and get a rug the color I go..shaking my head here, put a sheet over it when not in use..how stupid can you be...
up till this point I've had a terrific day, till I opened my nail..yikes, have to appear for Jury duty at Barrie Court on August 30th.
Not happy about that..I wouldn't be a good one to have to decide someones fate..
Barb, yes Ann told me she called you, said she also e-mailed..Mike is very quiet, beyond being quiet and when she brought the card home and he read the poem she said she could see how moved he was and close to tears..she wanted to thank you and Norm..
Yawning, so best I get a move on..I've cleaning to do in the craft room tomorrow morning and I've promised Suzanne I'd meet her in Barrie at 8 to do breakfast so no sleeping in for me..
Judy, at least you got the truth about the table and as you say, thank goodness no one got hurt..could have been disastrous..
LindaKay, how's your birdies does? do the grandchildren like to play with them?
Calling it a night..waving to all
Last year when Betty and Debbie took their epic adventure across the eastern part of the US one of you lovely ladies posted a pic of your DH fishing. I can't remember who it was(could it be Kenny??) but that shot was wonderful. I remember the caption saying the best thing was seeing your DH relax - and I thought how wonderful that you were able to take the pic and also how wonderful of you it was to share how you felt right then.
Any news about Mike Betty? Will they qualify for any HomeCare?First time I have ever heard that being mushy is good - I like that.
Thanks for the new thread Betty!
Anyone here have a Tree Lily? I am thinking about ordering one but want a bit more input before I place an order. Betty do you get Vesey's or Brecht's catalogue? Have always dealt with Vesey but Brecht's has some nice bulbs too.
The broken table reminded me of something I did as a wee one - under 10 anyway. It was my job to dust every Sat. morning and that meant getting a chair or standing on the piano stool to get all the photographs down first. Wouldn't ya know I dropped the pic of my DB and DS (twins) in their choir robes. The glass broke but everything else was OK. I cleaned the mess up and put the pic back in its frame and then on the top of the piano. Didn't say a word to mam about breaking the glass and she didn't notice immediately. About a week later as I was getting off the bus I could see fire in mam's eyes from the road. Yep she found it alright!! Still had to dust every Sat though and couldn't go out to play until mam had 'checked' my work.Judy I am sure you will be able to fix the table up but I did have to chuckle about the happenings with your DDs that night.
Debbie, raining there? Is Daisy still screaming at you in the night?
Alright Tubby what gives you the inspiration to find the correct word for each day?
Time to get the dogs in so better scram.
Sweet dreams everybody.
Dianne
I have one parrott, and he is a biter. I am the only one that can get him out of the cage, and hold him. The boys love to hear him squak, and say his few words, but that is it for them.
Hello To All !
Stacey - Yes "Spun Sugar" ... sugar was the name I first came up with because that was my dear grandpa's dog's name... I've been trying to remember to ask you.... Did you check with your hospital to see if they have any Free Baby classes? Maybe Baton Rouge is different... we do have the Huge "Womans Hospital" (that's the name of the hospital !) They do a "Baby Grand" week with all sorts of free classes... even 18 years ago when I was pregnant .....
If your hospital doesn't do free classes... you'll have to ride with Judy to come visit so you can do the free baby classes here...and she can do the free powerpoint classes.
(The lengths I go to ..... to get visitors ! Please pick up Betty along the way)
Betty ...do the Canadian Geese come here to Louisiana? If so - please attach a message and send to me! (Now I'm REALLY getting goofy tonight!)
I remember breaking my toe at age 17... in high school. I tell Mom ( a nurse) and she does NOTHING! Couple of weeks later one of the dogs (Mom was another Debbie) broke their toe.... Mom rushes Pepper to the vet ! LOL
Judy .... LOVED the "Someone broke" the glass table top. Those Ghosts "Not Me" and "I didn't do it" roam my house as well... but mystery solved. Is Jenny one of the 'adopted' friends?
"Honey/Dear Pup/LuckyLucy" is doing well. We are all still deeply in LOVE with her! But Judy - had to laugh at your Skittles story.... Same Situation.
I walk in from work tonight... DH in kitchen, DD16 on Sofa with laptop. DD17on loveseat watching TV. Dear Pup sitting within view of them all.... near a "Puddle"... Of course no one noticed.... I was the first to find.... Plenty more puddles where that came from.... Poor pup... I'm gonna have to quit my job to house train her ....
(Theres a thought!)
But I love her SO much... we all do... (think Shadow is even warming up to her). I am trying to teach her to walk the garden path with me...and she did well today.
Be back in a bit.... ((HUGS))
Mary
Crissy - how in the world did you do your pictures on one page like that?!?!
I have Picasa, but didn't realize it gave you the option to put all on One page.....
I'm going to have to do that with my camping trips........
btw - still looking for a tent - guess it's not the season to buy, eh? I would think they'd have huge sales right now!
YEAH RILEY IS BACK!!!!
Mary-nope, no free classes. They range from $80 to $150 and that just isn't in the budget:( I have to say I would be a bit put out by the puddle thing and would let everyone know that they are old enough to help with the house training. All they have to do is pay attention to someone other than themselves and I am sure the puppy has things she does to let you know she has to go....
Crissy-nice pics, but I wish there was one of you and Dave....
I am sure I am in the minority, but I am not a bird fan. They scare the crap outta me. I try to keep some in my yard with seed so they eat the bugs I don't want, but other than that I don't do birds. When we lived in San Jose our apt complex had a pond and so did the one across the street. We got ducks and wild turkeys that crossed between the 2 (even had duck crossing signs on the street) and those darn turkeys used to chase Ruby and I when I would walk her. Those things are REALLY freaky!! Of course Dh laughed at that...
I'm thrilled that Riley came home....We got Ann's message after we got back from dinner. I was afraid it was too late to call and not interupt Bingo so I'll try again soon. I didn't get any email though. Maybe she didn't get it entered correctly>>> Most people forget the #1 that's in it...
Sounds like Ann has a good start on her rag quilt. It will go quickly with your Accu-cut. I'm off to work on Stacey's diaper bag....Enjoy your day everyone....
Oh Betty, so glad he is back home, he just needed his space for awhile!
Just called home and the girls said Riley was resting on the bed...nice to have your 'furry' family back in the fold..
Stacey, when I lived on the lake and had company they all like nothing better than to stand on shore and feed the Canada Geese...buy, yikky, what a mess they do on the lawn..too much poop for me...as for birds, love watching them but only feed in winter when the kitties are inside pretty well all the time..Missy loves to hunt and often has a birdie at the door for me..some I've been able to save others haven't been so lucky!
Big birds i.e. swans can be pretty vicious..I laughed on Jeff's blog of his kayak trip his episode wanting to take a photo of a family and the male attacking him..lol..am sure he'll not do that again.
Susan would have thought you'd have the pick of stock at cheap prices, as you say, everyone is trying to get rid of tenting equipment to make space for winters supplies..did you try Canadian Tire?
Mary, let's hope the training of walking the path works, can just visualize the puppy digging up more gardens for you...ooohhh going to have to train the family before the puppy to clean up 'mistakes' lol or you'll soon not be so enthusiastic.
Dianne, isn't it wonderful to go back in time and remember what rascals we were, makes us less apt to be severe when our own children do things...know I told this story before but some of you may not have heard...grandparents raised me, wasn't a lot of money at that time but grandma always did Christmas cards..on my way to school I was to have put into the mail about 80 or so cards, not a problem as the post office was on the way to work....roll on to last day of school, last week in June, teacher has us all cleaning out the back closets were we each had an area for use, there sat the bag of Christmas cards..oh/oh, I'm in trouble now...well not really, not if I mail them right??? so on my way home all these Christmas cards were mailed out...think she got a call or 2 wondering if she had lost it...her comment was, 'at least you could have brought them home and I could have posted in December and it would have save me $$$' ...lots of things I remember doing..they probably saw them at 'cute' lol I think back now, lordy must not have been easy looking after a young one at their age..
Dianne, I think it was Liz's husband Kenny who was fishing..got to get copies from Debbie from that trip and should get some from Crissy so I can make an album..
Don't know why Linda Kay but I thought you had more than one bird..yikes, bet the children know better than to put their fingers in the cage. How old is the parrot? How is your dad doing? won't be long before he's back with you..when will you pick him up?
Guess LindaKay and Barb her reason for disappearing was indeed Ned so will have to make other arrangements when they need a grandma sitter.
Barb, we'll not use the accu-quilt, Ann needs somethig to occupy her and I explained how each block could be cut/tattered before sewing together, she even thought she could sew the square then have Mike doing it while he's sitting outside. She said he was a bit tired yesterday but then he didn't listen..Dr. told him 5 minute walk 5 times a day, think he walked 5 minutes one way but then it's another 5 minutes back, much too much..he's able to cope with pain so that makes it more difficult, he doesn't know when he's really hurting, so Ann is on the watch..she catches him from time to time wanting to lift something..5 lbs is his limit so even a couple of plates could meet that 5lb.limit
When Norm had the lymph nodes removed from under his right arm he was told NO lifting - did he listen? Not very well. I felt like I was the "Lifting Police" - always yapping at him not to do it. Then it was his left side after the second operation!! He still is not supposed to lift more than 10-15 pounds and now he is working at the hardware store in town. And of course they sell 50 lb bags of stuff (cement, fertilizer, etc) but his boss is now "the police". I guess he has been keeping a good eye on Norm and has the younger kids do any lifting. I'm really grateful we live in a small town where people take care of each other!!!
Hurrah Riley is home!!!!
Barb that is indeed good news and yes living in a small town is fantastic, I know that everyone knows everyones business but they always seem to be there when they are most needed.
How are you feeling today Dianne, are you behaving or do we have to call out the 'look after you police'?
Weather is much as it was yesterday, hot and extremely humid, lordy I could hardly find my way to Barrie this morning because of the fog.
Tubby,
You know how Sailor has been pulling all the hair off her haunches and I`ve been putting salve and giving her meds re itching, well I`ve tried to wash the area but it`s much too tender, I`m thinking that perhaps I`ll have to take her to the vets, get the anesthesiologist to either provide me with an anesthetic spray so I can shave her a bit and clean the wounds....either that or bring her into the vets and have her done there...
Susan you keep them in the same album. When you upload them at the top of the window it tells you which album that one specific picture is going to go in. You can make sure that all your pics are going into the same album, or you can even rename your album to whatever you want it to be called, and then make sure all of the pics go into that album, it will switch on you and create a new album if you don't watch what you're doing. You don't want to upload your pics at the same time, but do one at a time.
Tents are expensive right now down here because of the upcoming hunting seasons. I don't think they ever go on sale.
Betty your right, you're such a sweet person you don't see the bad in people. Maybe the person on trail will plead and you won't have to go.
RRIILLLEEEYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Betty, my Paco is about 28 years old, they can live to be at least 70, so looks like one of the boys may inherit him???
Dad is doing good in Washington. he loves it out in the mountains, as well as being with his favorite son. Bow season starts next week, so they will be riding up in the mountains. Dad can't hunt anymore, but he sure loves to just get out and go for rides, in hopes of seeing that big buck somewhere.
I'm hoping not Crissy, know someone has to do it but think if I put my 2 cents in we'd all be in trouble..lol .. do have to attend that day though!
LindaKay, I laugh when you say 'his favorite son' when my boys gab they always refer to each other as 'your favorite son' hey, only have 2 and they are both favorites...lol
Suzanne found a home for her birdie, they had it for over 30 years I believe, kids didn't want the responsibility and her's could live up to 100..she says she doesn't miss the squawking
Glad your dad will be included in the bow hunt, even if he just sits and watch , will he spend the winter there?
Oh, here they have you call in the night before and 9 times out of 10 you don't have to go because the defendant ends up taking a plea bargain of some sort.
Oh big hugs going to Suzanne, I know she doesn't miss the squawking but still, that's tough.
Well if I keep asking questions Crissy saying I'm hard of hearing will that help me..lol..
It's so hot out there, wow, could fry an egg on the pavement..trees are swaying but the breeze is so hot..
Greg just called wanted to know if I wanted to go boating tonight, can't go as I've got a perm scheduled and then a few errands to run in town, drats, might have been nice
Betty
Your next word is........
.....................................Bandicoot..................................
Tubby
You sure are giving me food for thought "Tubby", this was no easy one..I did learn something today, it's what a BANDICOOT is!
Wish our Laura from Australia was on the thread, do miss her, am sure she might have some in the backyard
Not the prettiest of creatures..
Bandicoots are one of the most exceptional species found in Australia and they are on the thresh hold of extinction. They are completely harmless, timid creatures looking like a rat with a long snout. They live inside the furrows and prefer areas in grasslands, bushlands and near the thorny weeds. These natural elements protect them and their shelter from the approaching predators. They are the best friends to the gardener and are omnivores. They feed on beetles, worms, grubs, wild mushrooms and fungus.
They're kinda like a kangaroo:
http://www.aussie-info.com/identity/fauna/bandicoot.php
1. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Riley's back!!!
2. Tents are mega cheap right now even tho Alberta is a Hunter's Paradise, but they're also Out Of Stock (Cdn Tire, included - we checked....), because they stop buying stock as the season gets "older" so they're not left "holding the bag" so to speak.
3. We got a call from an RV sales co, who really really want to sell a used tent trailer to us - we're going to look at it after work tonight. Really cheap @ 4k.....
4.Thank you, Crissy, for the info on Picassa! Will have to create an album and d/l it to a thread!
on the run again........... cya l8tr
Awesome news Riley is back.....I didn't realize how much he looks like my Toby!
Rough day here, spent 4 hours at meetings in school, DD's car has "issues" and I just want to crash.
Got some not so good news from a very dear friend, and am worrying about that also.
I have to regroup and finishe a few things up, did four loads of laundry....and the dishwasher also....and just am tired out. lol
As you can see, Toby is a very stressed cat. lol
Debbie
OMG Debbie Toby is like Riley..she was waiting at the door for me, came home late, got a perm/hair cut, I look pretty spiffy for my just calling it a night and going to bed..lol..now Riley wants out, almost tempted not to let her out but she'll whine and scratch until I give in..
Ok started the above post at 7:00pm then Lydia the Medicine Lady came over to bring salves for Sailor, we clipped her, clipped her nails and sat and chatted..she had me in stitches..her hubby passed away about 15 years ago, got talking about the 7 men she met after her hubby died and I'll tell you, couldn't have found a comedian that would make you laugh any more than she did...Lydia is 76, if I didn't visually see her and I listened to her antics I'd have said she's 30 and in her prime..what a lovely visit..
Lordy, not much hair left on Sailor..She brought me a vile of medicine, salve really that's a cure all for human, made of duck fat, comfrey, calendula and mullein..
On the side garden there is such a lovely plant, tall, deep pink and almost like lady slippers..showed Lydia, said I wasn't sure what the flower was, she said she was here one day and planted seeds for me and this was one of the 'treasures' too kind...
When she was younger she also did fortunes...so she went on to tell me a bit about myself (as she sees me) sure do wish I was the person she saw...
Lydia and her new hubby Klaus are leaving next week for 3 weeks in Alaska..so please she's enjoying her later years..omg..sure wish I could tell you some of her stories but know I'd be asked to leave DG..lol
All and all it was quite a day, with Riley coming home, doctoring Sailor, Betty getting a new hairdo..
This time I really am off to bed..
Hope you've all enjoyed your day..
Here's Lydia cleaning up Sailor's hair!
Susan, hope you find a tent, or a good deal on the camper!
Debbie, sending prayers for your friend! I can tell Toby is soooo stressed!
Don't we wish LindaKay we could come back as Debbie's furry?? lol
Debbie, think you are overdoing again, take it easy!
Tubby, did you see I used up your 'word of the day' in an early post...
Waving night/night
Betty, that is a lot of hair!
Hope you all have a good nights rest!
Not much left on Sailor LindaKay..she must feel naked..she's laying beside me, am sure she's exhausted..need to put Lydia's magic salve on her but hate to disturb her..Riley just want out so doubt she'll be back till morning time..
ooops heat just hit the keyboard..am tired..
awww Betty - what a day you've had...... take care, and rest, please!
We put in the $4000 offer on the tent trailer - 1998 Jayco - it's a little bitty one, but as it's just the 2 of us..... we don't need much. It has a stove that you can disconnect to use outside and hooks to the outer wall, so it's really a propane stove. Heater, sink, fridge, and 2 beds.
We'll find out tomorrow if they'll take our offer of $2k on Friday, and $1k for 2 months. We put $200 "earnest money" on it. Will find out in the am, I think (phone me at work) what the boss-man says. We could have it as early as Friday, f'pete's sakes!
We'd have to get a key to the compound in our park so there's that to look after too, as well as the licensing, etc. Bob's truck has everything it needs to tow anything (big 350 Ford).
