Just got home and am already thinking jammies, Ned is still here so I best put off the jammies until Greg comes to pick him up which shouldn't be too late..
Got all that I wanted to do done and more..ended up looking at dehumidifiers and decided I might as well pick one up..it's in the car, was going to carry the box in but Greg can do that when he gets here...
Still our fabric stores have little if anything to offer in the Christmas line of fabrics..got some beige on while mottled material for the inside blocks of the Christmas quilt project in Craighurst, some adhesive flannel backing for the bags I make and off to Fabricland..had embroidery thread on for 10 cents not a whole lot of colors left but bought 20 of them anyone..always use for something else...then I was about to give up at Canadian Tire, couldn't believe there was hardly any staff on duty, finally got someone to help me find the window extendable arm washer so maybe by end of weekend I'll have clean windows..
got my steak cooking with onions, mushrooms and green peppers..fresh sweet corn and yellow beans almost cooked..should not be eating such a large meal tonight but don't think steak would have kept another day..
going to call Ann's and see if they are home..
Drats, can't get my mind of that poor adorable child..
Best/Worse & What did I learn today..visit with friends
I know what you mean Betty, Baby Lillie Marie has been on my mind all day as well and kids all have her in thoughts too.
Linda Kay started a prayer thread too.
Haven't been able to think about much else.
But I did finish my blocks...And even that went very slow.
Well, hope you enjoy your steak. Sounds delicious. LOL, I just now found Steve's list of stuff to do! Well, wasn't to difficult to do in a quick hurry. The only other thing that Need to do is prepare the fire for 6:00, My neighbors will understand, I've had Prayer fires before.
When Bear died, it went for almost a week non stop...
Anyway, I am making burgers to grill.
Oh my goodness I sure hope Riley comes home. Yikes, I saw that animal and it looks really scarey, so I am hoping Riley just wants Ned to go home too.
Was sorry to hear about your mom, well i must say I am glad sh'ell stay home and rest.
Prayers being said as I go along doing my chores...
Ned is now gone, Sailor and Missy are relieve I'm sure..Greg brought in the dehumidifier, omg they sure make them small and compact so it's reading instructions for me hoping I can turn it on, damp here tonight but talk about chilly, yes, chilly, winds up and I actually got a blanket out to cover myself while I waited for family to arrive.. they will e-mail me photo's so that I can share..all are tanned, smilling and look rested..
Melanie said, 'Betty, when you get company from USA you just have to take them there to show them the beauty!' so put that on my list.
Judy I've been adding to the fire pit for several weeks now, winds up or I'd burn and do a prayer fire as well..maybe I'll be able to do tomorrow night providing the wind dies down...
Barb what did you find at Joann's anything???
Prior to leaving for home I dropped into the Knitting and Quilt gallery, they had a big sale, didn't take time to look but did see a few patterns which were $11.99 on for $1.00 - bought 2 Cival War quilt patterns and then there was a pkg. with a monthly quilt block pattern set of instructions to make a beautiful floral quilt..reg. $24.99 on for $2.00..even if I don't make any of them, I have them to share..
(Said in the BEST Ed McMahon "Tonight Show" style......)
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's ................ THE NIGHT SHIFT ! (music begins♪♫♪♫)......
Hello All... I really need to read back again and respond but I'm SO Excited and happy !
Will fill in....in a bit....
Susan - I agree on the sales getting 'cold' the longer it sits, and I'm a salesperson...but I'm sure in the Real Estate biz...decisions aren't normally made instantly... I mean we knew the minute we saw this (7 years our home) house we wanted it... but we MADE ourselves look at at least 10 other homes before we offered. So Good Luck! :)
LK - again my prayers for little Lillie!
Barb & Susan - how frustrating to have others make those decisions for you ! Hopefully they mean well...but they can't possibly know the "Big Picture" where your finances are concerned....so surely can't make any decisions for you.....
My parent always told us we were "poor".... now I look back.... I know better...but I'm glad they raised me that way.... I am NOT a person to waste anything....So as their child...I had NO CLUE what the 'big picture' was in reality...could NEVER make financial assumptions for them....
Judy - CONGRATULATIONS! on the Job Prospect... I'm with You.... Part time can quickly turn into full time... I 100% agree with sister Debbie !!! We had a 6 year employee leave today.... and 2 new positions open up ! You NEVER know....whats gonna happen....
Betty - ROFLOL! I remember...you had the crawfish Bisque...a local delicacy... well - when you come visit in 10 years (or whenever we get you down here) I'll NOT feed you bologna... we'll find some Good Cajun Food you like... Red Beans n Rice, Jambalaya, Popeyes Fried Chicken... LOL! Louisiana isn't home of the Best Food ever for you to eat bologna here !
I'll pop back on in a bit...
Hugs,
Mary

((HUGS))
Mary
Hello everyone. Lillie is no longer with us! She passed away about 10 minutes ago! I am going to copy and paste to other threads, and I am off to bed!
Love you all for the prayers!
LK
OH Linda Kay.... I am So Sorry. So so sorry.... no words to say......that can help....
Thanks Mary, just say prayers to comfort the family, we are all taking it so hard! But we also know she is not suffering anymore!
Linda - I agree....... no words can fully express how truly sorry I am.......
It's very very hard to say "The LORD is looking after her now" but I know in my heart HE is.
We love you too, Linda - Bless you for being there for the family - they'll need you more than ever now.
Thank you Susan! I am off to smoke another ciggy, and gonna try to get some sleep!
Thanks everyone!
Linda Kay ...
I am up now... and if you want to blog about It ...I am here for you... I don't know what to say..but I can "listen" if need be...
Again - I am So sorry..... little Lillie is in Heaven ....
Thanks Mary, I am just exhausted, and gonna try to sleep. I do appreciate the offer.
(((((((((((((((((((LK))))))))))))))))))))))))) :( So very Sorry for your loss
Linda Kay,
You know I am going to smoke a ciggy too...
I think Susan said it best.
Fire is still going and now I will continue prayers for all of you, especially Ashley.
Hard as it is to say, I am Thankful God took her home gently.
I wish I were with you to wrap my arms around you, because I am crying too.
((((HUGS)))) Linda Kay, Judy, Barefoot, Susan, and All.....
Oh LK there are no words to say how sorry I am for you family and your niece. They must be heartbroken! Although it is hard to say I am so glad this wee babe is now at peace .
See ya all in the morning - which for me get up time is around 5 am. Once a dairy farmer the schedule never leaves you. In University I was getting up when most were going to bed. Course I was also the 1 who would go out and gather up the live chickens the Agi fellows had less loose in our dorm wing. Silly girls - for heaven's sake they were only chickens!
Dianne

Dianne-I am one of those silly girls!!LOL But it is more that birds of any kind scare the bejesus outta me than the fact that they were specifically chickens...
((((((((((((((((((((LK)))))))))))))))))))))
Morning everyone! I'M UP EVERYBUDDY IS UP!!! to quote my sweet dad.Sure wish he was still with us.
Oh Judy your description of your son helping your MIL out of the truck brought tears to my eyes. How sweet is that? Most teens especially 15/16 years old don't want to be in the same room let alone eat together and go to a movie with a grandparent. You and your DH should be very proud of the way you have raised Jacob.
Susan I so know how you feel about not being informed about your Auntie Myrt's interrment.I think I can go you one better - my DB managed to email at 12:02 am the day of mam's interrment, he even gave me false information re timing. I was furious to say the least! I was too ill at the time and couldn't even think about the 6 -7 hour drive oneway however my DH was more than ready to do that for me. Grrrrr family can be a PITA,
Betty any sign of Riley now that the other dog 'Ned' has gone home? Wasn't surprized Riley took to the hills. Our 2 kiddens run and hide every time someone comes to visit or dinner.
Chrissy how are you liking your new office? You sounded a little frustrated with things....... life does get in the way somehings.Hope next week things will be normal or as normal as it can get.lol
Barb I recognized your DG name from the Prayer Forum. Ah so you like to quilt.... nice sure wish I had the patience. My 102 MIL who passed away in late November was an avid quilter. When she was about 95 she told me that she was teaching a new glass of quilters. When I asked the age of the participants she casually replied"Oh the elderly."
Sounds like DH is wanting to trade his fishing boat for a plontoon boat. I'all for that. I could take that out by myself and more importantly DH could do that too. Dry winter here leaving rocks in the lake noone has ever scene. Prop guys are doing a bustling business!
Debbie you can do this diet. Probably once you have all the info you need it will be a cinch. No need to make 4 different meals - either they eat what you are having, make their own or eat out.
Goodness almost time for nap - lol. Need to address this pain issue and not let it get ahead of me, then a wee snooze.
Enjoy yourselves - do something nice for youself today!
Dianne

Took me awhile this morning to open this thread, worried about what I'd read..oh LindaKay my heart goes out to all of you..I know the Lord has a plan, sometimes it's hard to know what the plan could possibly be in need such a little child by his side, but who are we to question..that is in my heart but in my mind I thing of so many young and old who have been suffering for ions just wanting to cross over into the Lord's garden and they still remain with us..here Lillie Marie was about to start her life and she's called back to sit with God's angels...
My stomach is just topsy turvey...
Prayers being said and loving hugs going out to you my friend!
How very sad!
Oh Linda Kay, I am so upset to hear of Little Lillie passing, there is nothing so sad as a family loosing a child, regardless of age. My prayers are with all of you and the family.
Dianne, are you going to start that over here? ROFL I'm up EVERYBODY up....that was Moms favorite saying too! LOL
I , too, believe you should go get checked out....especially since all you have gone through this last year....and that has been known to make bones a bit weaker. Listen Woman, don't make me come over that bridge! Hugs!
Today is FILs birthday party....I so Do NOT want to go. I am not into DH's family and their drama....have enough of my own. Only going for DH...and that Carrie & her DH Andy are going.....and I am taking my own car to escape if I have too!
Mary...I am still waiting for this happy news. Come on, we need it!
Debbie
Back to gab..
Debbie, you enjoy your day, always better to take your own vehicle to you have the freedom of leaving when you want..am sure you'll enjoy your day and having the kids there will certainly make it more enjoyable.. Happy Birthday to FIL!!!
Is that what it takes Debbie for you to cross over to our side of the land??? lol we'll have to remember that Dianne now won't we..
Is hard Debbie for sure wanting a job so badly and not being able to find any .. and it's not like you are only working in field of choice, anything will do.. are you up to working though Debbie right now with not being in the best of health..maybe you should give yourself a little time..
Boy Dianne you sure sound like Roger..he'd get up early in the a.m. and yes, even beat me to it..lol..and if he was up absolutely everybody had to get up including those who came for a rest at our home on the lake..got to tell you they weren't too thrilled about it but they did..he always said get your work done before noon and you have to rest of the day to play..guess that's why my routine is as it is...
Dianne, do you find mini rests are helpful..wish I could do that but if I have a rest that's it, I'm done for the day..
After ready the entire manual for the dehumidifier I finally found out that the 2 parts attached are for use if using in a sump pump area, not needed at all..
Came downstairs this morning and it wasn't working, shook my head but then realized in just last night it had filled itself..lordy it was humid and damp in this house...so guess I've another job each morning, emptying it..
Have the garden sprinkler on, gardens are sure thirsty, from time to time I come in and cut out the pieces I need for those pocket bags I make..managed to cut out 2 for Suzanne and almost 3 for me.. need a few more supplies so will run into town later this afternoon..might as well get it while on sale..
I debated yesterday to pick up one of those new rotary cutters with the handle, bit expensive at $39.99 but they are 50% off and it would be great to add to Melanie's sewing kit I'm making for Christmas..at same time I should pick up various colored thread, elastic, buttons, ruller etc. and there would be another gift for under the tree...when you near September you just got to know it won't be long we'll be singing Christmas Carols...I'm ahead of the game, but still much to do..
Getting my sander out, all those birdhouses need sanding before I paint white...
What do you all have planned for today, busy/busy????
Morning everyone, and thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers. Knowing she is at peace, and in Heaven now makes us all know she is not hurting, but we will miss her.
Betty, sounds like your days has been busy already. Yeah, you have to empty the container, because it does fill up quickly.
Dianne, please go have your self checked out? it m ay not be broken, but cracked just enough to make you feel badly.
I have my 2 grandsons for the week, and we just got back from the park. 10:00 am and it is already 82 degrees with 72% humidty, supposed to hit 102 most of next week!
Oh - Debbie - - Well this was exciting to me.... but may not be what you were hoping for...
Talking to DH from my office....he was on his way home from work Thursday afternoon. He suddenly says.... Honey...I have to go back... I think I just run over a puppy !
Well Puppy must have ducked... she's a little thing and DH's truck is tall..... she was covered with fleas and ant bites and ribs showing....
Well DH brought her home... cleaned her up... and she is the MOST precious thing! We haven't SAID this out loud....but I think we might keep her. DH put signs up "Found Puppy" all over where he found her....but she had no collar and there are no homes nearby.....
I am just SO Happy because if you read back my blogs you will see that I wanted a dog SO MUCH...we've been to the Pound and various Dog organizations and had not found one ....I just figured that God would send me a dog when he was ready... so this seems so "Meant To Be".... :)
Hugs,
Mary
OHHHHH MARY! You don't really know me yet, but let me tell you that IS exciting for me. I am a big animal nut....just ask Dianne. I have "sucker lives here" on my front door...only read by animals in need.
She looks to be a terrier mix...possibly with chichuaua....any estimate of weight? She is just precious! OH PLEASE keep her....
Debbie
Debbie, if hubby brought her home, it was meant to be! SO what is her name? She is just so precious!
LOL, I first saw her and I thought "Tippy"....Angel...or Pricella and call her Sissy! LOL
Now, I have a tendancy to give animals "people" names...along white a middle name. Now since DH found her, and she is truly a miracle not being hurt....I like Angel, Precious....or Lucy! LOL
Dear heavens you created a monster.....Cassie and Gabrielle aka Gabby! Both have something to do with Angel names.

Mary how adorable, yes, she's meant to be yours..she'll be the best friend to you, know I rescued Missy and it's as though she's thankful every day!
So what will you name her? Am hoping you won't be disappointed if someone calls for her..
Speaking of gifts animals bring to please you, I wasn't so pleased this morning when Missy was at the door with a birdie in her mouth though, chased her all around the yard till she dropped it, poor birdie just layed there, I am assuming it was playing dead and/or in shock..put Missy in the house, gave birdie an hour to recoup on her own, went to check and she's gone..so hope it's ok..that's the only thing about animals, they hunt and other hunt them..
If that wasn't bad enough, I have the rotary cutter in hand doing my pieces, went to push her over because she was laying right on the cut line, drats, when I pushed her over she nipped my finger and didn't I cut myself across the nuckle..she's not in my bood books today..just put her out and told her to go find Riley..don't know how many hundred times I've called out for not..guess I better get used to the idea that he's gone..
I've been out in the garden deadheading, just didn't seem interested today in sanding birdhouses, perhaps later and the gardens were calling me, been ignoring them of late..even that I can't settle down..not sure what I'll get up to if anything..perhaps I'll follow Dianne and have me a nap..
Debbie Mary is a recue shelter all on her own, always an animal she befriends..well, nearly befriends because she wouldn't take the white cat I wanted to bring across the border for her...
Dianne, it's really nice you've joined us, already you are one of us...we've adopted you haven't we everyone..
Tubby, waiting for my word of the day..
Debbie, I like the name Cassie but Angel would be lovely as well...Mary do you think she was without care for sometime..surely no one would have dropped her off to fend for herself would they have?
Bored/bored/bored..
Linda Kay, how old are the grandsons? wow, that's hot, perhaps you'd best find some indoor projects for them to do..nothing like having grandchildren around when you are feeling sad..am sure they've already had you smilling for us haven't they?
Imagine, another 3 weeks and school will be back in session, at least it will be here...now that my grandchildren are older, they are like most teens, could do without going..lol
Betty
Hi there.......
Well lets see......
My cat (INDOOR)
...........................Bandit...........................
Tubby
I have rescued squirrels, several out of our chimney when Mama made a nest in top, one that was hit by a car and tail ran over, 3 babies Mom and I fed before eyes open after car hit momma. Not to mention birds caught by cats, birds ran into windows, rabbits in need that were stunned.....and then my menagarie here. Two bald cockatiels rescued from pet shelter, moms bird, her fish also lol. Oldest DD's rabbit she turned out to be allergic to after adoption....he is now 14! Carries ferret from college....and don't ask about the cats or Izzy! LOL
LOL! Debbie that's so funny... we've called her all sorts of names... but I'm in charge of babysitting her right now and I've been calling her Lucy...even before reading this...
Before that I was thinking "Sugar" after my DGrandpa's dog... Dh said Buttercup... DS18 says "deathtrap" (typically teenage boy...after 'how she was found").... DD17 says "nilla" after vanilla ....DD16 says Bonnie... AND OTHERS....poor puppy has a million names already....
Hang on she's whimpering.... in other room....
Sounds like she has to go potty maybe? I hope she is house trained for you! Sounds like she has been out awhile with the fleas and ribs showing...one just never knows if she is lost from a family.
Any idea how old she might be? Check for tiny baby teeth.
Mary, I really like Lucy!
Debbie - you were spot on...! Yes - wandered into the wood floor room (thankfully not carpet) and did her thing.....so we just had a "teaching moment"...
I definitely want to rule out other owners before I become too attached... WHO am I fooling? I'm already too attached! BUT we will do the right thing ....if someone comes forward.
I just weighed her... 7 pounds... and yes....little baby teeth.... she seems to be new to the little rawhide bone I gave her but likes it...
Strangely everyone says yellow lab look...but that's impossible...
OOPS !
Gosh Mary, I am not seeing lab features....but we all know how my "shih-tzu" puppy turned out....she now weighs 95 lbs.
I definately see a terrier nose...its too pointy to be lab....BUT when she puts weight on, that just might change. Looks like smaller feet to me...more petite.
Well - Debbie ... I definitely trust your instincts more than mine...
I need to get another pic of her... after 2 days, 3 baths and lots of food...she is much better than this pic...
Dh took this pic right after he picked her up off the side of the road...
Sounds as though your entire family wanted a dog and are participating..like Lucy as well, can hear Ricky Ricardo saying 'Lucy!' when she was up to her old tricks.. maybe that's the name..laughing at your son name, leave it to a boy..
Can't blame Lucy though for not sure of where the washroom is, outside has probably been her home for awhile..I'm not great with breeds so can't help, but our Debbie is familiar so I'd go along with what breed she thinks it is until you bring her to the vets...
Probably somebody's pet, being so young she's probably escaped in some corner of a yard..let's hope they've given up on finding her because I just know what a wonderful home she'd have with all of you..
I'm being bad here, but escape like a BANDIT and go take down those posters...hurry/hurry before someone sees it..
Aline and her dad dropped in on the way back from town, chatted for awhile, I'm still trying to figure out if I want to take a ride in .. already wasted most of my day trying to relax..just not working out well..
Tubby, too funny, now we are starting with kitty names..did you see I managed to squeeze Bandit into my last post...
OOPS up above because she spilled her water bowl...
Gosh - I forgot how much hands on attention puppies need... like I have a little baby all over again !
Now she's laying under my computer chair (like Opie used to do!) so I may have a minute...
Yes LK I agree... since DH brought her home...we should HAVE to keep her ! Debbie ....I'm also thinking a little chihuahua? Linda Kay...wish I had your grandkids here...she just wants to play and play....
Betty - my cat when I was pregnant (yes 18 years ago) would bring birds, lizards, etc. to my door... once a mouse... the vet said he was "feeding me"... LOL! Poor thing and I would react to the 'gift' ...horrified....
Missy knows you're upset about Riley... so she brought you a gift! It's still soon since Ned has left, isn't it? Maybe RIley's not sure the 'coast is clear'......
Tubby - Bandit is going to be a tough one !
Hugs,
Mary
