Run myself ragged, Betty? moi? surely you JEST! LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, you've had quite a career, sounds as though your hubby owes his life a well staffed hospital...I have 1/4 of a kidney and an 1/8th of a kidney, the specialist that operated on me when I was deathly ill was called Dr. Doctor...imagine..what fun when through the years I see other doctors and they ask about my past history and when they ask my Dr.'s name I say Doctor, they say no his last name, I say Doctor and it goes on and on..lol..after having pig valves (picked it over synthetic) I say that I only started to gain weight after I became part pig..lol you just have to have a good humor right? I did the same, when I joined it said to give a name, well I did, my regular name, not creative there...easy to remember though..

And yes, not just words, we all care about each other, at least I hope we do...

Victoria Harbour, ON

I can just see you Susan, working in high gear, you and Crissy!!! our Mrs. Crissy has moved up a notch hasn't she??? Crissy will they still let you have DG to play on?

Tell me what to do everyone..

Mom called a little earlier, they just installed the last of her windows at the cottage, my SF Jim wants to go and do some drywall and trim, worried with her being weak on her feet that she might fall and that the dust won't help her breathing..he thought it might be a good time for her to visit Buffalo, yikes..wasn't it just this morning that I said I wanted to be home to re-generate..been USA side how many times these past few months ... DON'T get me wrong, I love going over but at some point I'd love to be home...hate to disappoint her, know she wants to go...some on, don't be shy, tell me what I should do...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is a tough call, but if it were me, know she is not doing real good, I would try to take her for her trip! I know you have had enough traveling, and would love your quiet week-end, but when have you ever had a quiet week-end? LOL!
Just my opinion.
But if she is not up to the trip, I would very firmly tell Jim, you don't need to be doing that right now! She is not healthy, and can't take that dust and stuff!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Kind of knew that's what I should do, got a text from Greg, originally they were coming home on Thursday (tomorrow) and now it will be Friday so have to figure out how I can swing looking after Ned and leaving after work on Friday..I'll call her tonight and get a feel as to how badly she wants to go.. know there is a quiet weekend someone, sometime for me???

LindaKay, how long has your sister been dealing with kidney problems?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

She just found out about a month ago. She went for blood work for surgery she needs on her foot, and it came back saying he is stage 3 kidney failure. So they put her on a bunch of meds. She is on a lot of meds, for asthma, blood pressure, cholesterol....

Any updates on Mike today?

Victoria Harbour, ON

No, Ann said last night that he be 2 or 3 days in the hospital so am thinking that they might come home from Princess Marguerite Cancer hosital maybe Saturday..know he'll want to be home to recoop..am sure she'll drop in shortly after getting home...hard for her to talk in front of Mike..she'll need her Betty hug...

Thank goodness LindaKay they came across this illness and maybe with meds have caught it on time..I always know when mine are acting up, I do nothing but sleep and have a pain in the back..signs for me to beware!

Started to rain, thought here we go, we need this rain and within seconds it stopped...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Well, you make sure you give her one from all of us as well!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Betty of course, the only thing that changes is where I sit and I don't answer the phones when Ms. Cheerful isn't around anymore. I need to put a working keyboard, or a keyboard that I can plug in, at my old desk. Hard to play on a computer and get some work done in the last 30 mins without a keyboard.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm sure Crissy you'll think of some way to keep in touch with us..we've missed you...

Hot/hot in the house, shut a/c this a.m. so I could keep the back door open so Ned could come in and out as he pleased..he's outside now, shortly I'll let him in and take his collar off providing he doesn't start licking or else back on it goes...Sailor sure doesn't appreciate having Ned here..guess she's old and Ned just being a pup wants to play all the time..

Friend who owns a resort in Honey Harbour said she might drop in tonight so won't start anything just incase..

Did talk to mom, I mentioned having Ned a few days longer than planned, she didn't mention Buffalo so neither did I...

Time for Sailor's pills, lordy I can't out smart her, put it in weiners, in ham, in cheese, think I'll try the peanut butter now...

Be back after

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got a call from Christine, a young fella fell and hit his head on a rock, parents took him to emerge and left two younger children with Christine so she won't be coming for a visit tonight...so, guess I can have my bath and get into my jammies after all

Oh Betty I did not realize Mike was at PMH..... well he is in the bestest place in Canada. Having spent several weeks there this winter for radiation and staying at the PMH Lodge was an amazing experience. Did Ann stay at the Lodge, or did she even know she could? It is $75.00 a week for chemo/radiation patients at PMH, Sunnybrook and St Mikes, includes 3 meals a day, shuttle service to the hospitals. Spouses or a companion can stay for a small fee as well. It is a selfcare facility although there is nursing help 24/7.Having to make your bed each day is a great thing, I think.Makes you feel like you did something useful. Most residents ended up being nighthawks because of our treatments so I was in seventh heaven. Sending prayers and positive thoughts for Mike and Ann.
Dianne

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I'm in my jammies, not going outside this evening, I still don't feel good and when I came in here to get on the computer I felt a tad chilled, Dave has the AC set at 80*. I think I'm way overly tired, probably caught up to me, I didn't get hardly any sleep last week because I kept having nightmares every night for 7 nights in a row. I'll go to bed real early tonight and be much better in the morning.

Verona, ON

Sleep well Chrissy - you sure have earned many nights of 'nightmare' free sleeps.
Dianne

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Dianne I have never had so many nightmares in a row, and they were all vivid and I remembered every one of them, that day. The last one was last Saturday night. I wonder what caused that, I haven't had a nightmare in years.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne, I assumed it was PMH but perhaps not..Ann has a daughter that lives not far from the hospital so that is where she's staying..omg, I've heard wonders about the Lodge...fantastic that those who have loved ones needing medical treatment don't have to worry where they will stay during this time..$75.00 is very reasonable isn't it..one night at motel would cost that..

I'll have to ask Ann..maybe it's St. Mikes..you know my mind went blank, can't remember which hospital Roger died in..case of blocked memory I guess...

Been out looking everywhere for Riley, she's been gone ever since Sunday..not sure if she's upset that Ned is here or what..when you let cats out you just have to know that one day they may not return...but when it's their nature to be outside cats when you get them you just have to say, 'at least they enjoyed life to the fullest I guess' let's hope he comes rambling home..

Crissy, do all your dreams relate to the same thing? Could it be from all the changes you've been going through lately??
Nothing worse that waking up and feeling like it's the real thing..not bad when you are dreaming about a good looking fella, always shake my head no/no/no when I wake up..ever gone back to sleep and finished a dream..have done, but never when I really wanted to continue a dream..lol

Tubby you have 5 dogs..wow..just bet they love you to death..

Diane my girlfriend has a pasifino (?) horse, says they are the best for people with bad backs, elder people...now there is a bread called MORGAN???? do you know anything about the breed Tubby? (oooh..got help on that one, thanks Barb!)

Mary, it's almost the night shift...keep trying to stay awake to hopefully get to chat with you but no go..this old gal falls asleep...

Debbie, what did you get up to today..

Bev, how are you and Scotty faring in this heat?

Baton Rouge, LA

May the Night Shift Commence !

Hugs to all....I'll try to pop on in a bit...have a few things to do first.

Got a late start tonight... took DS18 to dinner...just us two and some sushi. DH thinks I'm nuts but I figured the best way to have a nice hour long conversation with DS...when all DS wants to do is work, visit with Girlfriend (at her house.... HMmmm) and then check in to the "home-hotel" around 11p every night to sleep.

(((Hugs)))
Mary

Verona, ON

AH Mary I think that was an excellent plan!!!Smart thinking, one on one time with DS that has to be enjoyable cause food is involveed. Brilliant!

Lyndonville, NY

Betty, I stayed home waiting for the doctor to call....and she never did.

Come 9:30 tonight, I was fuming. Of course tomorrow I won't be home, and you watch her call.

Dianne I was aware of that when I mentioned the kidney test, and knew you were very knowledgeable about that. When I get ahold of her...I will find out what that level is. All I know is I feel so sick, even all night long and the swelling is horrible. I get weak/woozie even walking to the mailbox which is maybe 25 steps each way. I am averaging two naps a day....just exhausted.

As I said Friday, I had a horrible "crash" four hours after my "2 hour" glucose tolerance test. I had a nice breakfast afterwards also...so wasn't on a empty stomach or such...and no high sugar, just eggs and grits. Drank the "juice" at 8:30....finished test at 10:30...breakfast at 11:30...and crashed about 12:40....sweats, shakes, could have eaten a how was suddenly so hungry feeling even though just ate. Fifteen minutes later....sound asleep for 2 hours. Lab tech I called and told said it sounded like I had a hyperglycemica episode.

Off to bed, I have to head to Rochester at 8;00....haven't been in a few weeks.

Sweet dreams

Debbie

Baton Rouge, LA

NIght NIght Debbie! Oh dear - I sure hope you are feeling better ! Hard to have health issues and still keep up with all the kids.....

Thank you Dianne ! I have to say ...it was a lovely visit... nice to catch up on how he's doing at his first 'job'...he seems rather excited about it... So it was well worth the Sushi I had to buy to bribe an hour of his devoted time.....

Happy Birthday To Jacob ! ♪♫♪♫ Wow - 15... makes me want to look back at pics to see what DS was doing at 15th bday....

Crissy - Do you think the nightmares caused by all the changes in life lately? I know that's when I usually have them... DH had bad nightmares last night...was strange.....

I also wonder with the Record Heat... how that is affecting us... EVEN if we are indoors ?

Thanks for the updates on DNiece LK ! So glad our prayers are being answered....

Hugs Susan ♪♫♪♫ ... Please take it easy ! You and Betty are wearing me out! (And Judy too !)

I made up a word for us. It's "Bettergy" (BET er Gee) It's the condition to which one has High Levels of Energy comparative to our Betty and where one tends to begin and finish projects at a Super Human Level and Pace.

LOL!

Tubby - I was going to jump in on "Morgan" ... we have our Morgan City in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana...about an hour plus South of here... Home of the Famous Shrimp and Petroleum Festival....and I hear they have a wonderful Boardwalk area on the River.....

Hugs To All,

Mary

Victoria Harbour, ON

Please feel free to jump in when "Tubby" gives us 'word of the day' a few of them had to make me think...sometimes that is not easy..

Riley didn't come home so that's 5 days now, most missing before was 3..starting to fret!

Mary what a fantastic idea you going out with your son one on one..great way to show him you care and get updated on his going ons...have to laugh, when I want to know ANYTHING & EVERYTHING I call Kyle and ask him if he wants to come help grandma..we get to gab and I'll tell you, he can clue you in on events and conversations word for word...he said/then she said/then he said! lol

Debbie, know you haven't been feeling well and it's been a year since we did our road trip and this swelling started..I'm hoping if you are waiting for a call from your doctor that it's for test results..surely that would be one of the first things to check is the kidneys?? Is someone going with you to Rochester, know it's not that far but far enough when you are not well! Maybe you can call the Dr.'s office using cel..don't let it go much longer..prayers for you sweetie..

Mary l o v e the Bettergy lol...you are too cute..

Mary Morgan City sounds like a perfect town we'll have to put on our 'visit' list when we do our travels..hope you are keeping a roadmap ready..not GPS, wow, she leads me astray all the time..

Got to feed the animals and get ready for work.. 1/2 day tomorrow and weekend time..can't wait to have a quiet weekend, not quiet doesn't mean I won't do anything it just means I'll go at a slow pace and enjoy

gab when I get to work..
waving to all..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone!
Tubby, what kind of dogs do you have! Have you had them long?
If you get a chance, can you post photo's of your birdhouses, on the birdhouse swap please?
Betty, Riley may come home after Ned leaves. He may feel threatened with the dog there.

Little Lillie Marie needs prayers, she has somehow developed MRSA, and also has an infection in her intestines, She may need surgery, and family was told, she may not be strong enough to make it through!

She has NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis, an infection in her intestines that is causing severe problems. She may need surgery, which her chances with wouldn't be good. All your prayers are needed.
The hospital asked her if she wanted to call in the chaplain, and to call the family. It is not looking good right now, but we all know HE can do wonders!
Thanks everyone!

Will be praying for all. God bless her little heart. I feel for the family. BEV

Victoria Harbour, ON

You've been there before Bev...this post must touch your heart..

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

The nightmares were completely different every night. I know the last one last Saturday was based on the show White Collar, I had watched it before I went to sleep and I dreamed that I was being chased by the FBI LOL!

Betty I had a cat along with Tiga, her name was Shooz, she was an outside cat and she disappeared about a year before we moved, I have no idea what happened to her. That's just not a good feeling.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Love watching White Collar Crissy..

Lyndonville, NY

Prayers for little Lillie Marie....and the family. So hard to have a premie and deal with all the issues. I babysat a premie for two years....she is now 8 and doing well, but she was a bit over 1 lb when born.

Betty, I am waiting for the call of result....Had some testing done Friday. I have called twice now being nice....and the third time just a bit ago, I wasn't so nice. Not the receptionist fault...I told her that...but when they tell you your kidneys are failing, and you need testing ASAP...one would expect a bit more promt callbacks.

I met Paul for lunch...Red Lobster, I had wood grilled rainbow trout and shrimp....with baked potato and fresh broccoli which was so good. And their cheesy buiscuits. So now I won't eat til tomorrow...even lunch portion was too much.

Judy, I can't believe that boy is 16....has he gotten taller? He was fighting with Steve about passing him soon when I was there. lol

Waving to everyone....gotta get the feet up. Yes, Betty, I drove the entire way and back....but didn't over do making stops.

Debbie

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

((((((((((Lillie Marie)))))))))) gentle hugs - HE will watch over you, as he does all children. Sometimes we don't understand just how Much HE loves them....... Prayers are going out to all the family.

Betty - it's been awhile since I got on, so missed what you'd decided to do about your mom and a trip to buffalo..... If he's going to work on the house, I say - take her on a trip. I wish I lived closer to my mom - we used to go on trips all the time, but she wasn't up to travelling to Calgary this year......... I miss her so.......

I'm feeling a little down - found out this morning that my aunt (mom's sister), who had cancer, passed away and they've already had the funeral. Because she lived in Manitoba, and I in Alberta, my mom decided I didn't need to know as it would cost too much for the trip...... I could have gone........ people from further west went........ I'm not in a happy mood....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, maybe you were a little too nice the 3rd time around..nothing to fool around about, as you say, they should have called by now..I'd be calling every hour on the hour.. not so sure you should be travelling alone, do you have a girlfriend in the area who would go along for the ride?

Not being a seafood eater I don't go to Red Lobster but hear the food is fabulous..I'm like you, yesterday for lunch I had chinese, over ate so got home last night and had tomato sandwhich and bowl of strawberries about 8:30pm.. am a 'see food' eater though..lol....as for Steve and Jacob, they sure like to kabitz..always enjoy watching kids with their parents...almost forgot you met them all including Liz and her hubby...we sure did our fair share of travelling didn't we...almost got to see Bev and Scotty twice because of our gps helper..

Today Suzanne ordered in pizza for the both of us, lordy it was yummy, we ate before lunch so we could use our lunch hour to go to a warehouse that sells towels/rugs etc. as I wanted a rug..yikes, got all the way there and it is out of business...now what, oooh stained glass shop right across the street so went in and looked around, was busy and Di was the only salesperson there, put my name on the jewelery class sheet, she needs 2 more and she'll have it either on a Sat. or Sun. then we dropped in at a nursery, I bought a plant for back deck and there was lunch hour..

Susan, not sure why people don't give individuals the choice of going or not going when a death happens..it's up to the individual to take into consideration if they have funds to travel..how upsetting for you..sending warm hugs...

As for mom, called her this morning and explained that I have NED for another 2 days, her cottage is about 1 hr. from me..told her if she wanted to come to the house we'd spend the day travelling all the little towns and boutiques, go as far as Meaford, have lunch on the bay and come home, she could spend the night with me and go back to the cottage Sunday morning so they could leave for the city ..she said her legs were giving her difficulties and she'd let me know...at least I offered..and, you are right, want to spend as much time with her as I can..my sister Sharon is always so busy judging and being in dog shows..she's off to Ohio this weekend and in 2 weeks she's off to the state of Washington so she doesn't have much time to entertain mom..

I understand Bernie's back and hip went and he's spending most of his days in bed..have to drop in either tonight or tomorrow to check on him..
