Just checked over the house, other than damp mopping the floor because I've been on the go for 3 days, maybe a duster everything will be in order, then bath, jammies and a good book, if I don't fall asleep first...

SO what did you get up to this past weekend?

Tubby, how are you feeling?

Bev, are you and Scotty doing ok?

Debbie???

And all the rest, missed you all..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I went to San Antonio for a follow up to my arthritis Dr, and spent Friday night with my youngest son, and grandson's. Had a great time. I even got a new tattoo. A pretty monarch butterfly added to my back.

Betty, did you crash early tonight?

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG Tubby a riding lawnmower, that just has to be my next big purchase...oh yes, I remember I'm retiring and won't be able to lol..now don't spend hours upon hours out on it and get sunstroke, a MINUTE or two MINUTES will do..now for most when we say a minute we have the best intention of devoting but that to a project, but somehow it peaks our interest and a MINUTE can become an hour or a day! On the other side of the minute coin, if it's something we dislike doing and someone says 'it will only take you a minute' right!!! it does but take a minute because it's not something you want to spend precious time on.....so glad you are feeling better, all joking aside, do not overdo..hugs for Shirley..

Debbie, you started my morning with a hearty laugh with your 'what is your other hand resting on' lol...you must remembering last year when I went, the lady who took a liking to me and was a bit tipsy turvy, had me up dancing but I stopped short of getting on stage and using my hands on Elvis' main structure..yikes....just an entire FULL day of laughs, memories and great entertainment..

As for being an Elvis fan, I enjoyed his music but wasn't part of the Elvis pack..it's just amazing to see an entire town decorated in Elvis theme, everywhere you look..venues ongoing and overlapping at over 80 different places...can't wait for next year! Debbie you'll have to come, say yes, for sure I will...

LindaKay, got to go check out the new tatoo but am running late, shouldn't have stopped here to say hi but had lol will check when I get to work..

Waving to you Stacey ...
Susan, did you post photo's and I missed it?

OOohh, will be a rough emotional day today, Paul said he wanted to talk to me..oh/oh

Gotta run
For those lurking as well as you my friends, enjoy your day..if you find a few minutes, would appreciate the company..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm here for a while this morning Betty. Dr appt this afternoon. But I'll check in- in between washing fabrics......Keep your chin up and your resolve strong my dear and you will be just fine...If you need to lean - I'm here.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Awwww you are so kind...not sure if Paul will be in this morning, he and Suzanne have a lunch meeting, so perhaps after the meeting, meanwhile my tummy will churn, don't like leaving anyone in the lurch..did say my last day would be Aug. 13th but if he had a replacement and needed another week or so I'd fill in to train..we'll see...

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Stacey my dad dresses up and dyes his hair to do the festivals, any other time he looks normal, but he's had the same hairdo since I was born, it's just gone gray. Scroll up to #7998208 and 7998209, that's my dad doing an Elvis impersonation at a rest home in Joplin, MO. Post #7998272 is him any other day of the week.

Tubby I am so glad to see you on the riding mower and out of that wheel chair!!!! Wooooo Hoooooooooooooooooooo!!! Hugs from here to Shirley too!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Sounds as though you are getting stronger Tubby, prayers do help!

Well everyone, met with Paul..had a nice talk, very low key, his words were soft (know that sound - remember when Roger had something on his mind) anyway..outcome..GOT to think about it some more...wanted to know how I'd feel if they set up a telephone center in my downstairs so I could do my work from home?????? hmmmmm

Food for thought..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That's a wonderful thing for you Betty. That way you could work on your projects and only need to stop when the phone rang. I would have loved something like that when I was considering retirement. Wasn't to be for me but I think it would be great for you. It would need to be with the understanding that you still get your occasional days off from the phone like you do now. How would it affect your shopping? You do a lot on your lunch hour and to and from work and wouldn't be near those places anymore. Just some thoughts.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'd be saving all my shopping for weekends, having $$$ saved from travelling/eating out would give me more shopping $$$...it was something he threw out and it caught me by surprise..

If you remember back a few years ago on Friday's I'd put the telephone to my home and I worked out in the gardens while waiting for a call..

I'm almost sure I'll say 'yes' IF it's a consideration..would save 2 hrs. a day travelling and 1 hr. lunch, he said if I had to go somewhere I could have a pager that said their call would be answered within the hour...really making it hard to say NO....

As Suzanne will be taking over the Barrie office (daughters will work out of one of their homes) , Toronto office stays the same, 3 other new offices will be opening within the month..all changes will happen quickly..my resignation was for August 16th sooo regardless still have almost 3 weeks to work..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tubby and Scotty, I ran across this fitness program for those over 50..thought it might help you gain strength - sure need you both to be healthy... here goes:

Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.

With a 5 lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute and then relax.

Eash day you'll find that you can hold this position for a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10 lb. potato bags.

Then try 50 lb. potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100 lb. potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level).

After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag!!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh Betty - what a hoot!!!! Sounds to me like Paul really is trying to take care of you and on your own terms. Paul is your BIL correct? He's taking care of his brother's wife any way he can. He must love you very much and must have respected your marriage to his brother to treat you this way. How very fortunate you are to have him. No matter what you decide I still need to hear of your adventures!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

OMG I always have adventures...keeping days for you and Norm...

My boys treat Paul like a dad..guess he's taken on the role and enjoying it..he has 2 girls..my boys are just about 12 years younger than he...Roger would indeed be proud of him..

IF, and that's a big IF the phones are in my home, I would train someone who would like an odd day here and there which would give me more free time..he's ok with that as well..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

WOW how wonderful for you. You can enjoy yourself and get paid for it!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, that sounds like a deal,l too hard to refuse! Especially not having to drive to and from work, when it gets snowy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

ooohhh now there is an incentive.. can work in my jammies...we'll see, he has to also check on the feasibility of the main trunk of phones being in my house..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening time, Ann came over, Mike has his operation on Tuesday morning..still saying the growths have grown, both lungs partly collapsed and yet he feels well??? must have a high pain tolerance..

We had a nice gab session, she'll come with me Sat. morning to Kempenfest, promised we'd be home by noon...

Didn't win any $$$ at Bingo..just finished embroidering another block for my quilt block and now it's off to bed...

Been quite a day..off to give Sailor meds and put salve on the area she's pulled all the hair off..every year about this time...drats she looks in pain....

Sure hope you all enjoyed yours...

night/night

Lord willing we'll gab tomorrow

Baton Rouge, LA

Betty -- I'm SO excited for you.... AND for me too because I "Guessed" that's what he'd do ! (Scroll up...it's there!)....

It's amazing what they can do with forwarding the phones... At my old job...I could even "VPN" or get on my work computer from home. I think I can do it at this new job...just haven't learned how yet...

Can't wait to see what he comes up with for you !
(Hugs)
