Wasn't there a category for 'modern art' computer generated?

I love those photo's...

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

No just one manipulated photo. The one that took the blue ribbon was two people in black and white but they put pink hats and shoes on them. They hung three of mine upside down LOL this is one

LOL I can relate to that Bev, I sometimes hang my own pics upside down. Photography is an art, what looks award winning to some people isn't going to look the same to others.

I don't know Betty, it's a sedge weed.

Bev that photo has a muted watercolor look to it...love it!

Betty, most of us cut the angel trumpets at the end of the year. As they never come true from seed, if we ever get a seed pod. So at the end of the year, just cut the plants down in about 8 inch segments. They can be rooted if you place them in a cup of sphagnum moss, and keep it moist, or a glass of water till it roots, or you can place the cuttings directly in soil, and keep it moist. Once you see young shoots, you know it is rooted. If you have them in water or the moss, plant them when they get roots. Then you will have a nice start on plants for next spring. One problem a lot of us have, is they get spider mites while indoors. Just get some spray and keep it handy. They grow a lot in one year. This is my angel trumpet raised bed, and it is all new growth this year. The tallest one on left end is about 5 foot right now.

LK I love that garden! What a great idea!! Next year I think I'm going to do Daturas instead of Brugmansias.

Victoria Harbour, ON

LindaKay love the raised bed..you made that bed last year didn't you?
Makes it easier for gardening and guess because of the heat it doesn't warrant having a traditional bed..love the statue..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks Crissy. Todd made it last year, as our soil is so bad. It cost a lot to make it, but sure beats having lots of pots lined up, like I have in the back yard!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LK I have rocks and red clay, I feel your pain!

Wow, lots in Rochester without power. Storm was still spinning around as I came home. Temp dropped from 81 to 67 from here to there. And on way home, it was 67 there....and 84 here! Trees down in Rochester and the lightening and storms were not fun! Bright and sunny here thankfully.

Bev those pictures are wonderful, although my favorite is the kitty with the tongue out! lol

Just got home, so need to get some dinner going or such....

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad you made it home safely Debbie...just went out to take a few photo's (seeds from Opreland Hotel-thief that I am) lol and it was starting to rain..we've been lucky these past weeks, most of the rain comes during the night! Let's hope it stays bright in your neck of the woods..

Some seeds taking root, of course, Missy wanted to play

Bev, you got to give my lillies an A+ for even trying to bloom, with being eaten by those bugs, half their stems eaten/blooms eaten and still they try to bloom

White phlox are just starting to bloom..

Must go to the garden center in Collingwood while I'm there visiting with Elvis this weekend, I've purchased over the years some striking colored phlox..all so pretty..

One last photo, I'm sitting her and my machine is embroidering quilt blocks, only time it needs me is when it has to have the colors changed so I'm not going far...

Didn't even take time for supper, once I sit that's the end of me..so shortly it will be time to go eat corn just picked today..the sign at the country market said it would be ready in a few days, took a chance and drove by tonight and yippee it was ready...

Lovely shot Betty, they sure don't look smashed from the storm!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Such great pics!! Bev-my fave is the kitty next to the liquor bottle;) Too cute!!

Crissy-I LOVE daturas. They smell so great and if you let a couple of the pods open and the seeds fall out, then there is no need to do anything the next year. You do need to trim off most of the pods though or else you will have a CRAP load of them:) My cat likes to eat reg. grass, then comes inside and throws it back up-GROSS-so we tend not to let her out much.

LK-send Todd up here. Tell him it is for vacation, but in reality he can make me a bed like that;) Oh-and you can come too!!! YEAH!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That would be so nice! Tell Chris to but lots of landscape timbers, and lots of long screws! Then order a truck load of topsoil.

Victoria Harbour, ON

All of us are so talented, each with their own specialty so I think we should make a schedule, travelling workforce and hit each others homes..would that be something!

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

LOL-tell Chris-you are too funny!!! I would have to do it myself.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

LOL! That is not good! Maybe tell him you will hire someone to do it, then watch him go to work on it? LOL!

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Poor lilies, but they are still pretty. I wish my gardens were as neat as yours Betty. Hi all !! Hugs BEV

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Yeah right LK-he knows I am too darn cheap to hire someone to do it;)LOL

I am trying to get some ambition to get the dishes done and my squares cut out...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Bev, my gardens are so full of flowers/shrubs, hardly a space for a weed to grow, but they do..lol..

Are you seeing fall in your gardens yet?

How's Scotty doing today, give him a hug for me won't you..

Do you have someone who drops in from time to time so you can go out

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Some of the daylilies are quiting and the leaves are falling from the walnut trees. I get out for a couple of hours every other week. I have to because he is so bossy. It is from being so bored.

Stacey in those situations I'm 'Fixin' to get motivated'

Victoria Harbour, ON

Your lillies look so healthy Bev..few hours every couple of weeks just isn't enough..do they not have caregivers that come in from time to time that you can access...has the ramp helped?

Crissy, did the company say when they will do final hiring and Dave will know one way or another?

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Stacey, I also wanted to say that I'm going to start the Dats next spring from seed, I'm lazy when it comes to deadheading so maybe I'll have some the following year to send to you, I bought seeds, some triple purples and what-not, I'll let you know what I have when I get home.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

No, he's going to call and check in tomorrow.

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Yes the ramp does help. The home care just came for 4 weeks and then they are done unless he is sick. We are doing fine.

Sure wish I lived closer to you Bev..I could play checkers with Scotty and pull weeds for you..lol..all joking aside, wish I did live closer..

Nilwood, IL(Zone 5b)

Me too Betty. Sounds like pulling weeds is a therapy for you too.

Live closer and keep all that we already have with us, location, family, friends, everything!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Either that or unlimited travel with expenses paid of course......

Victoria Harbour, ON

well our lottery is 50 million on Friday night and think about 20 - 1 million draws...so, cross your fingers and as Crissy says, anything else that crosses..lol.. so that I win and can spend all my time visiting from place to place and of course 'treating you all'

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Crissy-they are super easy to grow from seed-no special care. Sprinkle them where you want them, cover with a light layer of dirst and water. In about a week or so you will start to see green:) I only have single whites and not sure if I have any this year-might have been too good at taking the seed pods last year.

Betty-if you come here, bring your specialty of cleaning!!LOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do Stacey, if we have seeds you wouldn't plant them now would you? or do you wait until spring to do so..guess plants do self seed and that's where we get new growth?

Being a dummy here today...

Came to a conclusion, think I'm going to quit..much too boring, besides I like being home...that's my thoughts for this afternoon anyway...have the letter typed, now wether or not I give it we'll see..have to sleep on it..

Did talk about doing this back a few months ago..comes to me every once in awhile...

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

Seeds for the Datura would be planted right after last frost. Is that what you meant Betty??

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Betty I wouldn't work if I had the funds to stay home. Actually that's not true, I'd get bored and cranky, I already tried that a few years ago. I would work part time for some business that I enjoy doing, like a plant nursery, but I would want hours that would allow me to be off work early, like noon or 1pm every work day, and I would only work 2 or 3 days a week, weekends off as well.

(bestest fairy)Tempe, MI(Zone 5b)

If I had the money I would become the perpetual student with a crap load of degrees.
